Hey guys! This is my first Naruto fic and what not, my first SasuSaku fic, yayy! Finally, I've written something for this fandom. Thought of giving a short break from Beyblade. I planned to write a medieval one-shot for SasuSaku but I need more time to write it.
This is my first fic for Naruto so no flames XD Here, Naruto and Karin are cousins. Since Karin shares the hair color of Kushina, I am putting her some close relative role of Naruto's :P

Rating: T; Genre: Humor/Romance; Pairings: Doesn't have so much of romance but hints of SasuSaku with other couples.
Setting: High school AU. The deceased ones in the franchise aren't dead here.

Hiccups chaos

Students were walking in gangs to the school. Nerds were having their books flat open and the clowns or the typical elements of the class were chattering endlessly. And finally a beautiful blonde and a pinkette were seen walking, having a paper each. They were practicing their lines for the Biology seminar that day. Ignorant of what was happening around them, they kept their eyes fixed on the scrawls on their half-crumbled sheet.

"Ugh, who the hell found these seminars? It's so annoying Ino!"
"Just stop blabbering Sakura. Our internals are largely depending on this, so don't freak out."
"I won't because Sasuke will be watching it!" Sakura squealed.
"It's my line! Not yours!"

Sakura grunted and as usual, they kept arguing with each other. Just then, Shikamaru passed by and slapped his forehead, "It's such a drag. These Sasuke fan girls argue endless with each other. It's totally unnecessary. Girls who brood over Sasuke have no other business to do.'
Just then, Naruto was approaching them. Shikamaru immediately ran along the hallway and Naruto chased him, "Hey Shikamaru! Where are you going?"

"We are late to the class!"
"No, we aren't late! It's still 8:30! We have fifteen more minutes for prayer Shikamaru!"

Shikamaru halted and turned back. His mouth gaped, "N-N-Naruto! You're early to school today?"
"Yeah, woke early in the morning… HEY! Now I understand why you were running! Since I saw you here, you thought that I was late. Duh."

After the prayers were done, the students went to their respective classrooms. Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura, Ino, Choji, Hinata, Kiba and Gaara were appointed to do the seminar for that day but luckily the first period wasn't Biology. Shikamaru's got over so he was simply chilling out and was daydreaming about his senior Temari. The first period was math and it was Kakashi who is the subject teacher. As usual, he didn't show up so the chattering, gossips and lovers' talks went on. But, there was this Sasuke Uchiha, the heart throb of girls solving math problems and he used to finish all the assigned problems before even Kakashi arrives.

'Oh man, it's such a drag that I am two years younger to my senior. I wish that my parents could have got married earlier. Temari couldn't notice my feelings for her. Come on Gaara, kill me instead!'

Soon, Iruka appeared and called for attention.
"Listen students, after lunch you all are requested to go to the dance hall!"
"For what?" Naruto asked.
"From today onwards we are beginning with your cultural program practice. You all have to be there sharp at 1:10 p.m. Clear?"
"Yes sir!" all said in unison except for Sasuke.

Naruto coughed and patted Sasuke's shoulder, "Hello Mr. Uchiha. Did you pay attention to whatever he was telling?"
"To come to the dance hall at 1:10 p.m. I am not a dumb like you Naruto. You wouldn't pay a piece of attention even when you aren't doing anything, unlike me who is the polar opposite."
"Sasuke! Just wait and watch! Sakura will be my dance partner for this annual cultural program!"
"Who said that I want her?"

"But I'll protest if Ms. Kurenai pairs you both! She is the head of dance club, right? Believe it! This time, it's going to be me and Sakura!"
"What's wrong Naruto?"

Hearing the familiar female voice, the hyped blonde turned back to see a raven-haired woman with bright ruby eyes.
"Mrs. Sarutobi? Why have you come here? It's not chemistry now." Naruto said. "You haven't let me speak a single word Naruto. Now all listen, Sir Hatake won't be coming today, so I am here for substitution. You all are expected to complete the first twenty sums of Differential equations by today."

The students started to work on the sums and Sasuke was done and twenty minutes of the first period was left. Sakura was going to finish along with Ino meanwhile Naruto hasn't solved even a single problem but later he did with Gaara's help.

"Ma'am, I am done."
A cherry-haired girl wearing spectacles raised her hand. "Good job Karin. Now you can proceed with the next few questions if you want."

Sakura gritted her teeth and her fists stealthily punched the bench.
'This Karine… She is just annoying! No matter what, I won't let this bitch surpass me this year! Last year, she scored 97, but I ended up scoring 96.5! But it was just 9th grade, now this is 10th! I'll prove you who I am Karin!'

Before getting back to her place, Karin secretly winked at Sasuke though he was indifferent to it. However, this Suijetsu gets pissed off whenever this red-head would flaunt her beauty in front of the Uchiha. Meanwhile, this Shikamaru would sulk the most.
'Oh man, it's such a drag that there are so many girls brooding over Sasuke, and if I tell one negative thing about him, these girls would just pounce on me. Ugh.' Shikamaru thought.

"Hey Sakura, what happened?" Ino whispered.
"That bitch Karin," Sakura replied as she punched the table. "Just leave, that Suijetsu will attract her. As if Sasuke likes Karin."

"You're supporting me?"
"I mean, you don't like Karin with Sasuke as much as I am with him."
"Nope never, Sasuke's mine."

"Sakura? Ino? What's the matter?" Kurenai asked in a stern voice.
"N-N-N-Nothing ma'am! Nothing!" Ino nodded her head and waved her hands, intending to tell 'no.'
"Hmm…" Kurenai hummed. She faced Hinata who was working on the problems sincerely with the help of her cousin Neji. She smiled at that and thought, 'I hope all the girls can be like Hinata. Though it's Sakura and Karin who score the most from the girls, Hinata ends up being the most sincere student.'

The hectic math period got over. It was break time and who all who were appointed for the seminar kept practicing their lines. Choji kept munching on his chips instead of practicing meanwhile Gaara silently did. He is very much of a quiet student who barely speaks to anyone. Maybe a little bit with Sasuke, Naruto and Neji. Shikamaru laid himself on the table and snored till the Physics period began. It was Kushina who takes Physics though it's highly unusual that the subject has a lady teacher.

"Good morning students," Kushina greeted gently.
"Good morning ma'am," the students chanted and dragged the last few words.

"Do you all have any doubts in the recent chapter? I mean in Scattering of light."
"Ma'am, I have a doubt."
Sakura raised her hand.

"Yes dear?"
"Ma'am, I still can't understand why Violet light… hic!"

"What happened Sakura?"
"I mean, why does Violet light scatters the most and red the… hic! Hic!"

"Drink water Sakura. You've got hiccups."
Ino patted Sakura's back. Lee and Naruto gave pitied looks and gave their bottles. Ino lent her's leaving the pinkette baffled and confused. 'Ugh, whose shall I take?'

"Here Sakura," Sasuke lent his's from behind and Sakura took it, letting the other three to fall down in anime style.
"We all were trying to help. I think even when there would be so many people to save your life, you'll only need Sasuke regardless of whether there are already people to save you billboard brow!"
"Shut your mouth Ino pig!"
"Say what?"

"Ino, Sakura. Stop the fight!" Kushina yelled. Ino and Sakura flinched and sat down, followed by giggles of their classmates.
"You both are annoying," Sasuke remarked. "You included me too?" Ino asked as she gasped.
"Why not?"

"Hic… Hic…"
"Guess you need to drink some more water Sakura," Kushina said. Sakura grabbed her bottle and drank some water. Sakura just zipped her mouth throughout the class though she had a couple of doubts. Karin ended up asking all of her doubts which frustrated Sakura to no end though Karin is Kushina's niece.
'Ugh, this hiccups had to come and mess up everything. Shit, I have my presentation today, dammit! I think I'll teach how to hiccups instead of Photosynthesis.'

The two periods of Physics were brain-wracking and kind of nerve-wrenching for them all. Sakura had a back log of doubts which she is yet to clarify. She thought of texting Ms. Kushina the evening so that she could get them clarified on time.
'Oh no! It's Biology now! How am I going to do the seminar? Cha!'
Sakura thought as she walked up and down, giving out continuous hiccups.
"Is there no way to…. Hic! Stop… this… Hic! What the, hic!"

"Oh, Sakura, still those hiccups…" Hinata paused as she and Ino came for her. Naruto and Lee to joined them.
"I wonder how I am going to do the presentation. That would affect my internals, hic!"
"Sakura, your health is more important than internals."
"As if I am gonna die Naruto."

"Hello, what's up?"
Karin peeped in and sorrowfully looked at Sakura.
'Man, it's just fake.' Sakura thought and gave a disgusted look to her.
"I have a nice idea to cure you."
"What?"
"I shouldn't tell you or else this won't be resolved."

'Ugh, what bitchy plan this bitch has.'
"Hic!"
"Sakura!"

"Aah! This goddamn so annoying hiccups! Hic! Oh my god! Lady Tsunade would come here in a few more minutes! Hic! Hic!"
Now, Naruto couldn't resist laughing. Seeing Sakura suffering from hiccups seemed funnier to him. Ino gave a bang on his head, "Aaah! Ino pig! What did you do to me?" Naruto whined.
"Can't you just stop laughing loser?"
"Oh man, what the hell? Naruto is Sakura and Ino is Sasuke today," Karin laughed.

'What's the joke here?' Sakura thought, smirking with the intention of mocking Karin. "This hiccups is highly unusual," Lee said as he gave pitied glances to Sakura.

"Well guys, I think it's time. Lady Tsunade would come here soon," Karin said. All went back to their places, just remembering their lines silently.

"Good morning students," Tsunade greeted. "Good morning ma'am."

"Okay, it's time for the seminars. Since we have two periods, we have eight people presenting today. And, after lunch assemble before the dance hall. We'll be having a small discussion regarding your annual cultural program. So, who is up first?"

No hands went up.
"Gosh, looks like I'll have to select. Hmm… Aah! Why not my dear student Sakura can begin?"
"Me ma'am? Hic! Should I really come… hic?"

"Why Sakura, aren't you prepared?"
"I am, but… hic! Look at my state… Hic!"

"Oh, you've got hiccups. Oww… Just drink some water Sakura."
"Ma'am Tsunade, we tried them all."

"Hmm… then I guess I should call someone else for now."
"I'll come, I am fine now," Sakura said as she emptied her bottle.

Thankfully, there was no need of an apparatus to explain anything because an apparatus was only needed when they enter high school. Sakura kept her seminar sheet inside her file and came with a rough paper having some diagrams. Turbulence of feelings hit her as she gulped.
'Oh no, if Karin surpasses me, I'll create a bad impression on Sasuke. I'll have to ignore this god's forsaken hiccups and just say my lines perfectly. Oh Sakura, this is not a play, a seminar! You are clear to every point in detail. Just ignore the hiccups and go ahead! Cha!'

Tsunade scowled at the frozen Sakura, "Sakura? What happened? We have no time, we have seven more people to present! Hurry up!"
"Yes, mam, hic!"

The pinkette let out a deep breath and began, "Good morning everyone…. Hic! I am going to present about… hic!"
Sakura shut her eyes in embarrassment.
'My god! This hiccups is going way too out of control!'

"Sorry, I mean about Photosynthesis. Hic!"

"Sakura, want some water?"
"Yes ma'am, but my bottle is empty."

"Hmm… Sasuke. Take her bottle and fill in some water from the water cooler. Hurry up."

Sasuke walked off with Sakura's bottle and shortly, Sakura continued to explain the process, definition and drew some neat diagrams on the board. Sasuke entered but there was some box inside his pocket which he tried to hide evidently but effort not went so futile.
"The factors which affect Photosynthesis are wind, hic! Sunlight, water hic! Stomata, hic!"

"Stop Sakura, drink some water," Tsunade advised. Sakura gulped in a lot of water and continued. But at some point, the hiccups went escalated that she couldn't utter a word properly. A few guys were giggling, intending to mock her and that included Naruto and Suijetsu. Lee punched their heads, letting them whine.
"Could you both just stop? Sakura-chan is struggling to speak amidst her hiccups!" Lee yelled.

Naruto cocked and eyebrow meanwhile Suijetsu sighed as he slumped on the table.

"Okay Sakura, I think you can go now. You've almost covered all the topics, I'll take care of the rest."
"No lady Tsunade…" Sasuke interfered.

"Sasuke?" Sakura gave a perplexed look. 'Sasuke's never like this.'
"Sasuke?" Tsunade asked. The raven-haired revealed the box to everyone. A plastic one with a green lid, not empty. Naruto smirked and gave a thumbs up, and Sasuke nodded his head.

Flashback (after Physics period, before Bio seminar):

"Hey Sasuke, do you have any ideas on how to stop Sakura's hiccups?" Naruto asked.
"Why me? I have no idea."
"Hmm… Hey! I have one!"
"What's that loser? Don't tell something stupid."
"We can scare Sakura-chan. That's the best way to stop the hiccups. I've heard that if we scare a person having hiccups, the hiccups would go off! Karin was suggesting me this to do!"

"Good idea, but how shall we do it?"
Naruto creepily smiled and smirked, "Let's scare her with creepy crawlies."

Current scenario:

"Aaah!" the girls screamed as they rocked back their legs on the benches. Sasuke opened it and a lizard popped out.
"Lizard! I hate it! Aaah! Somebody chase that off!" Sakura climbed on the bench as she flinched to the crawling lizard.
"Sasuke! Why the hell did you bring the lizard here!?" Sakura yelled as she danced vaguely in fear. Naruto stomped beside the lizard, intending to chase it away.

The lizard was gone but the whole class was in a mess. Sakura finished her seminar and sat but Tsunade shot glares at Sasuke.
"Sasuke? I never imagined that you could be this naughty! You interrupted her presentation! Was it just you or somebody else with you planned this nonsense!?"

An anime vein popped out from Tsunade's temple as she held her fists on her hip. Sasuke replied, "It was Naruto."
"You idiots! I am reducing one mark from this presentation for each of you!"
Naruto flinched meanwhile Sasuke was annoyed.

'Sasuke! It was not me! Its Karin!' Naruto thought as he glared at Sasuke.

"No ma'am, please don't do that. At least for Sasuke because he has never been like this. Without him, I wouldn't have completed my seminar successfully. He prevented my hiccups."

'Sakura!' Naruto thought as he grunted.
"I understand Sakura, but he could've done this earlier right?"
"No ma'am, there is no break between two classes. You came in few minutes after Kushina mam left the class."

"Fine, I am not reducing your marks but let this be the last warning," Tsunade said as she scribbled on her notepad.
"Regardless of your hiccups, your presentation was good. Now next, Sasuke Uchiha."

Sasuke came up. He had to do a seminar about transpiration.
"Good morning everyone, I am here to present you all about… hic!"

The students who were vaguely paying attention had their eyes baffled. The others' eyes widened in awe. All fell down in anime style.
"You too got hiccups Sasuke?" Sakura asked.
"Is it world's hiccups day today?" Ino asked, still in the state of shock.

"Oh man, such a drag. This Sasuke ends up getting whatever this Sakura gets. Amazing," Shikamaru remarked, the last word in sarcasm.
"Silence!" Tsunade yelled as she banged the duster against the table for a few times.
The students flinched and sat quite.

'My god, what's this? I got hiccups too,' Sasuke thought as an anime vein popped out from his head.
"Oh man! What's happening here?" Naruto asked.
There were murmurs going on.

Sasuke finished his presentation with the hiccups, yet not as bad as that of Sakura's. He went to his place.
"Sasuke, are you alright?" Sakura asked from the front seat.
"I am just fine Sakura, hic! My hiccups is not like yours, hic!"

"You are so cute when you have hiccups Sasuke," Sakura remarked but Ino got fumed up. Sasuke replied, "Just stop it Sakura, and don't be so silly."
"Cha…" Sakura mumbled.

The seminars for that day got over. Sasuke was still worked up with the hiccups.
'Man, looks like this would never cease,' he thought.

The students reached the dance hall after the lunch. The students from grades 9, 10, 11 and 12 were seated down and Minato, the headmaster had a piece of paper and teachers were sitting beside him on chairs.
Minato coughed and began, "Good afternoon students."
"Good afternoon sir."

"We will be having the cultural program as we do have every year. This time, we are having two productions."
"Do you mean, two long productions?" Ino asked.
"Yes Ino. So, we have divided the seniors section into two. Students from classes 10 and 12 will be doing on an ancient Japanese fiction, meanwhile students from classes 9 and 11 will do a drama on a Shakespeare's drama. Some can opt for Japanese music if you want."

Sasuke's hiccups got worse. All turned to him and murmurs went on, until Minato called for attention.
"Sasuke, what happened?" Minato asked.

Tsunade coughed and responded, "He is having hiccups. It was Sakura who had in the morning, but its Sasuke now."
Kushina let out a playful chuckle and interfered, "Did Sasuke get that too? I knew that Sakura had that during my class."

"Whatever it would have been, go and drink some water Sasuke, or bring your flask here."
Sasuke ran to the classroom.
'Poor Sasuke. When Sakura had hiccups, it was he who ran for her, but when he is having none it's still he who is running for himself. What a drag,' Shikamaru thought.

Kurenai said, "And students from classes 10 and 12, that's not only a drama, but a dance drama."
"A dance drama? Do you mean, we dance and act?" Naruto asked.
"You're almost right Naruto. We'll discuss that after giving some details regarding the entire cultural program," Kurenai answered.

After a big discussion, students of classes 9 and 11 were sent to the theatre hall with Kushina, Obito, Rin and some teachers meanwhile the others stayed here. Minato went to meet some guests. Shortly Kakashi entered with a green-haired woman. "Kakashi sensei has come with his wife?" Sakura whispered in amusement.
"Nope, with his pet," Naruto answered in sarcasm.

"Don't you have eyes Sakura?!" Naruto yelled.
"I am asking why!"
"Who knows?"

Ino interfered, "Guys, don't you all know that his wife Hanare is a dance teacher? She owns a dance academy."
"Oh, yeah I remember. So, is she the one who is going to teach us the dance drama?" Karin asked.
"Maybe," Sakura shrugged.
Hanare stepped in and greeted the students in a polite way. "Wow, Kakashi's wife?" Naruto asked as he nudged Sasuke's shoulder.

"Idiot, do this to Kakashi, not to me, hic!"
Hanare introduced herself to them though they all have seen her during her wedding with Kakashi, almost five months back. Now she is going to teach them dance.

"So children. Dance drama is a drama where all actions are expressed in dance forms. We have divided you all into groups."
"Groups?" Naruto asked.

"Yes, because a dance drama can require both actors and dances separately. But still they all do both maybe one dominantly. So Mrs. Sarutobi will tell you all the groups," Hanare finished.

Kurenai smiled at Hanare and then began, "So these are the students who are going to be in drama."
Kurenai said the names of class 12 students and then came to the last few names of class 10, "…..Naruto Uzumaki, Karin Uzumaki, Matsuri, Gaara, Shino Aburame, Kiba, Hinata Hyuga, Choji Akimichi and Rock Lee. You all are in drama."

"Thank god I am not in dance! But this Karin is with me, duh." Naruto sighed in half-relief and half-annoyance.
"It's ME who should be annoyed with you Naruto!"

'Yes, I am with Naruto in the dance drama,' Hinata thought as she playfully chuckled.
'Sakura's not with me, Oww…" Lee thought sadly.

'Sasuke's not with me!' Karin thought sadly.

Kurenai continued, "The others are in dance."
Those included Neji, Sasuke, Sakura, Ino, Shikamaru, Temari, Tenten and some more.
'Me dancing with Sasuke! Yayy!' Sakura thought and meanwhile looked at Sasuke, who still hadn't got over with the hiccups.
'Me and Sasuke!' Ino thought and slightly squealed.

'Me? Dancing? No way!' Suddenly, the raven-haired felt someone's hand on his shoulder.
"Don't tell that you won't dance Sasuke."
"Kakashi Sensei?" Sasuke looked back.

"Don't tell me that you'd ask your wife to put me in dance."
"I did."
Sasuke sulked and hiccupped.
"You've got hiccups? Did you drink water?"
"I did Sen- Hic! It's still not going, hic!"
Kakashi patted his back for a couple of times.

'I can't dance with my Sharingan like my brother did during the cultural programs in his days with his girlfriend Izumi, dammit.'

Neji thoughts, 'Me dancing with Byakugan? Damn.'

Soon, the dancers witnessed Kurenai and Hanare whispering and chortling.
Kurenai said, "Uh well, you all will dance separately as boys and girls, once all together but… There are six dancers who will be having some roles in the drama. I mean, those six are acting as dancers in the drama."
Ino asked, "I have a doubt, then what about the others apart from the six? Aren't they also acting as dancers?"

"They are dancing just to depict the story to the audience. But those six dancers are actually actors. They'll have to act as dancers. We've put them in dancers list because they'll have more to dance."
Hanare continued, "This story will have a King, a Queen, a prince, princess, minsters, monks, nuns, gods, goddesses, celestials, demons, and inevitable and so on. Along with them, there will be six dancers. Those six dancers constitutes of three wedded couples. But the others who are dancers will have dance to tell the story to audience. This story is all about six dancers who danced for a day before the King and Queen of Konohagakure. I hope you are clear now Ino."

"Yes, I am."
"So, now I am going to tell the three couples," Kurenai said.

The students who have appointed for dance gulped and meanwhile waited curiously.
"Neji and Tenten… Shikamaru and Temari…"
Neji was left baffled and Tenten just froze. Shikamaru squealed and meanwhile Temari was left unmoved like Tenten.
"And… Sasuke and Sakura."

Sasuke got an instant fear as he jerked. Sakura jumped up and squealed, "Yayy!"
'With… with… Sakura!'
"No way! Sakura… with Sasuke!" Naruto and Karin said in unison.

Sasuke's face occupied tinges of red and meanwhile Sakura couldn't control her excitement.
"Kakashi…Were you behind this?" Sasuke grunted.
Kakashi continued to read the book "Make-out paradise."

Kakashi released the book and asked, "Did you ask me something?"
Sasuke fell down in anime style.
"My god… I ended up being like my brother who danced with his Sharingan…"

Temari pulled Sakura and Tenten to a corner and whispered.
"Hey girls, what those teachers are thinking about themselves?"

"I am with Sasuke! I have no problem!"
"I am with Neji, so fine."
"I am with that Nara idiot dudes…. Geez!"

The day at school got over. Sasuke was walking home with Gaara, Naruto and Neji and sees Sakura. He blushed at her for a while.
"Sasuke idiot… You took away my Sakura from me!" Sasuke didn't bother to reply, instead he was nervous to even utter a word.

"She got hiccups… I got hiccups and at last we both ended up being dance partners… All because of that Kakashi idiot!"
"Mind your language Sasuke," Gaara remarked silently. Neji nodded.
"I am with Tenten. Does she know to dance properly?" Neji asked.

"I hope she doesn't dance like a monkey," Naruto said.

After walking for some time, Naruto realized something, "Hey Sasuke! Your hiccups has gone!"
"Oh yeah! But how…."

"Sasuke. I noticed that you didn't have hiccups after we left the dance hall," Gaara said.
"No Gaara… I noticed that his hiccups stopped after Kurenai declared the names of the dancers. To be accurate, the six dancers. Nope, after Lady Kurenai declared Sasuke and Sakura."
"I see… Oh! I understand!" Naruto nudged Sasuke's elbow, forgetting that he has a crush on Sakura.

"Are you scared to dance with Sakura, huh?"
"Stop nudging me loser."
"Sasuke has no fear, people having hiccups can be cured using fear. Since Sasuke has none, it's tough to cure for him. But now he is a little nervous to dance with Sakura," Gaara smirked.
Sasuke continued to blush.

And that's how he got rid of his hiccups.

Yayy! I've finally written a Naruto fic! *Jumps*
I know that this was gross but sorry this is my first attempt to write a Naruto fic. I hope this wasn't that bad. And Misty di, I am eagerly waiting for the SasuSaku fic, I can't hold my horses! (Shush, I won't tell what that is ;))
My god, I never thought this would be so long! I thought this would just come for 2k words but it kept going on XD
