Kim Possible: Vamped

"Possible," Will Du hissed as the redhead just appeared in his room where he had been on stakeout over three days now.

"Keep it down," Kim told him as the man looked around uneasily. "You don't want the wrong attention in this dump," she reminded him, the hotel being in a very bad part of the city they were in, and the city itself was not all that friendly.

"Why are you here," he demanded.

"Believe it or not, research. I've been working on something, and decided I'd come to talk to you for some background."

"Background," Will frowned.

"Look. I don't like you. You don't like me. Got it, and done. I just had a question for you."

"What did you wish to ask that could not wait until I returned from my mission?"

"Why did you actually join GJ? At the start, the first day, what was your motivation?"

"I have always believed in the social order and the law, and…."

"C'mon, you're not going to give me the usual song and dance you give the press? You, William. Why did you wake up that day, and decide to commit yourself to the agency?"

"You may find it amusing, but I was serious. I believe in order, rules, and justice. GJ was attempting to impress that very thing on the world, and I felt being part of that attempt was not only worthwhile, but an honorable vocation to focus upon while seeking to improve my own skills and abilities."

"Really? That's it?"

"What did you expect? Hero worship," he shot back. "A bumbling accident while staggering through misadventures?"

"Ron and I were not…."

"Oh, I know exactly what you were, and are, Possible. You have never cared for anything beyond your own ego, or your own thrills. In your way, you were worse than Shego, because at least she was honest about what she sought."

"And there you go proving you don't know a damn thing about people, Du. It sounds like you're just echoing the usual press like Hardhead liked to spew. Guess what, I really did just want to help people. Anyone. Anywhere. Didn't matter to me. You, though, you've got your codes. Your regulations. You'd let the world burn if it meant letting one of our precious rules be broken, or even bent."

"I'm not so intractable…."

"Don't lie to me, little boy," Kim smirked. "Still, I do recall exactly why I loathed you from the start now. Thank you for reminding me."

"What," Will blurted out. "What could have possibly…?"

He trailed off as Kim smirked.

"Your blind arrogance is actually worse than anything Shego ever displayed. True, she's smug, irritating, and arrogant, but she's got a cause. She faces you head-on and dares you to step up and face her. You? You don't even try to prove yourself or improve yourself, but automatically assume you are better than anyone else simply because you know a few regulations. Guess what, errand boy, no one cares. That, by the way, is what makes most people despise you. You're so hung up on what the rules say, you have forgotten how to live in the real world. That, Agent Du, is what I despise about you, and those like you."

Will scowled, and asked, "And what made that query so important you would come out all this way just to harass me," he demanded. "You're not even part of GJ any longer."

"Say that again," Kim suddenly smiled.

"You are not part of GJ any longer, Possible," he grit out in disgust.

"You, a senior commander and elite member of Global Justice are telling me I have no part or place in that agency any longer?"

"No! You never should have been part of our honorable institution. You were a mistake from the start."

"And so now I'm out," Kim kept smiling.

"Yes!"

"Thank you."

"Wha…? Wait, why did you think me," Will frowned.

"For making it official that GJ has no authority or hold over me any longer," Kim smiled such a cold smile that Will Du suddenly realized he may well have made a mistake. "By the way…."

"Yes?"

"Five enemy agents are about to crash in your front door. Have fun," she smirked, and vanished from the room just as the door crashed open, and a burly man in leather shouted, "Take him!"

Will Du atypically cursed, and turned to face the men.

"Bon," Kim greeted her as she walked into the house where Bonnie's mother had let her in and directed her to the room where Bonnie was just starting to pack.

For her own amusement, she had waited till the very last day and waited till early evening before she went to see Bonnie. Shego felt she was just being silly, but Kim didn't want Bonnie to think she just caved without any thought to the matter.

"Kimberly," she said, turning to see her standing there looked paler than usual with her red eyes and fangs showing. "You know, you should wear sunglasses, or something if you're going to be sporting those weird eyes very long."

"Sunglasses at night," Kim grinned as she walked over to lean against a bureau. "Even I know that one is gauche."

"Well, at least you're learning. So, did you decide?"

"If you want to hang around one more day, we'll meet at the lawyer's office tomorrow, and I'll sell the chain to you on two conditions."

"What conditions," Bonnie asked, but Kim had already seen the eagerness flare in her eyes even as the brunette tried not to let it show.

"First, you have to keep the name. Consider it a memorial to our friend's life and work," Kim told her.

"I have no issue with that one," Bonnie assured her.

"Second, every shop has to have her portrait as the founder in it on display. I want people to remember her, and what she did."

"I have no issue with that one either," Bonnie said quietly.

"Right. Then we just have to decide on a price."

"I'll pay you….."

"We both know what the buildings, the fashions, and the business itself would average out to, Bonnie. I'll let you set a fair price, and just keep to the conditions I put out. All right?"

Bonnie eyed her and slowly nodded.

"All right. I'll even reimburse you for any taxes you have already paid on the bequest you were given."

"That's easy. I haven't paid anything as of yet. I've just left it to the current managers to run things for me for now and told them I'd be in touch as to how things would go. I guess that will be all yours now," Kim smiled.

"You haven't changed much," Bonnie smiled. "Still so busy being busy you don't have time to stop and live, aren't you?"

"Well, I'm working on that one," Kim said. "Just let me know when to meet you at the lawyer's tomorrow, and I guess that will be it."

"Kimberly, thanks. This means a lot to me. I'm sure it would mean a lot to Monique, too, if she knew her boutiques were going to continue."

"I'm sure it would. She might have been trying to offer me something, but I think even she would know I'm not the best fit for nine-to-five," she smiled. "Until tomorrow….or whenever," she said and left Bonnie standing there staring after her.

"I wasn't kidding about those sunglasses," Bonnie shouted. "Or even some contacts."

Kim only laughed as she left the house.

Heading back for her own home, she considered Will Du.

She'd wait until tomorrow to ask about Monique and suggest an evening or night shift for 'Maribelle' who could at least stay busy herself, and stay in her own favored vocation. Until everything was settled, though, she was going to keep her eyes open. Monique seemed to be adapting pretty well, but it helped she had Kim and Dana there to guide her. Kim had no one at the start and had to learn the hard way. Even when she was guiding Dana at the start, she was still learning things herself.

Now she knew better. Now she was stronger and wiser than ever. Now, she was ready to begin helping her daughter and lover both grow and mature, too.

Step one had been ensuring they had a financial base. Selling the boutiques would do that. Step two would be cutting all ties between GJ and Dr. Director. Will Du, an acting senior agent had done that quite nicely. As she had guessed he would when she went to see him, and rattle him just a little since he remained overly concerned about her since her return.

Now, they would live their lives, and meanwhile, Kim would be considering what to do when it was time to leave Middleton again. Probably after her parents died. Her father was lagging of late. Too much stress. Too many late nights and poor habits for a man of his intelligence. He had been driven himself, and at times his health had been the cost he paid while chasing his own goals. Ironic, considering he was married to a very fine doctor.

Her mother might live for a while yet, but it wouldn't be that long compared to her. She just hoped her brothers would understand when she had to cut that final tie. By the time her parents did pass, Kim was going to have to be using masks herself, or people might notice she wasn't aging normally. Not that she had ever been normal.

Only she didn't want anyone revisiting her apparent mishap, and starting to think that perhaps Kim Possible really was a supernatural creature that cheated death.

Mostly because she had no intention of ever letting anyone threaten or harm her family again. Not her daughter, who was a very special woman. And not Monique, who she was growing more and more in love with every day.

And night.

While she was surprised the woman was being so mature about her resurrection, she still knew Monique had a lot to learn. She still had to accept that she would never be Monique Robinson again, just as one day Kim Possible and Dana Parker would fade away to become someone else. Likely taking Amy with them.

Until that day, Kim was going to keep living as she always had. Day by day, and devoting her life to helping those she could aid. On either side of her new fence. Meanwhile, she felt that giving up her alleged research to write an unofficial autobiography might just be a good cover for her recent seclusion.

Kim smiled as she reached the house, walked in the door, and shouted, "Shego, I need a gallon of coffee!"

"You need what," Shego sputtered from the couch where she watching one of her favored action films.

"I've decided. I'm going to write a book. I have to start digging up some research and stuff, and so I figure I'll need tons of coffee. Dana said so," the redhead grinned.

"Oy," the green-skinned woman rolled her eyes. "By the way, Monique went out for a walk. She wants to test how well her mask fools anyone beyond Stoppable."

"No big. Oh, and I'm officially out of GJ and off their strings. Will officially fired me last night, so now Betty has no hold whatsoever on me. Isn't that great," the red-eyed redhead grinned brightly.

"What could possibly go wrong," Shego groaned.

Kim's mouth started to part, but Shego growled.

"That was rhetorical!"

Kim only laughed as she headed for the room that served as study, den, and computer room. "Hey, can I put you in my book? It'll be great!"

"Don't you dare," Shego shouted after her.

Kim only giggled, and Shego swore, knowing the loon was still the same goofy Pollyanna at heart, and guessing that weird laugh of hers meant Shego was going to end up part of that book like it or not.

She groaned and wondered if she could slip tranquilizers in Kim's coffee. Knowing her, it wouldn't slow her down very long, though. Sighing, she began to make coffee even as she heard Dana storm up the hall, and shout, "Why didn't anyone wake me up? I'm going to be late."

"I'm surrounded by children," Shego sighed but smiled faintly as she began to make coffee.

Never The End…..?
