All The Same

Kenny and Elise were sitting in Kenny's hotel room. Elise was leaning against his headboard, sipping the iced tea she had purchased on the ride back to the hotel.

"What one do you like the best?"He asked her.

"Well I really liked the turquoise house because I liked the back yard and the guest house. It would be perfect for friends or family who visit."

"That's true but, I'm not sure how I feel about the style inside that house."

Elise nodded, "It was definitely unique. Although that master bathroom was amazing."

Kenny nodded, "What about the townhouse."

"I know the upkeep would be good but, there wasn't any yard and it was really small."

"I agree with you. I didn't care for it."

"So we can take that off the list?"

"I think so, yea." Kenny had a notepad and paper on his lap. He scratched off the townhouse from the list.

"What about the mint green beach style house."

"It was kind of nice seeing a house like that so close to Orlando."

"I really liked the kitchen in that house."

"Would you cook me breakfast?" He joked.

"I would definitely cook you breakfast whenever you wanted, or lunch, or dinner. But, I could do that in the turquoise house or the new construction too."

"How did you feel about the new construction?"

"I liked the space but, it was lacking some character. I also disliked how small the backyard was."

Kenny nodded.

"Do you know which one you want?" She asked.

"I do, do you?"

She nodded, "But what if they aren't the same one?"

"I have the feeling they will be." He smiled.

She nodded. "What one are you thinking?"

"The mint green house."

Elise smiled. "Me too."

"Should I call Jay?"

Elise nodded her head and took a sip of her tea. "Right away."

Elise walked out of the women's locker room. The MGM Grand Garden Arena was abuzz with excitement for the show. She had ridden with Kenny to the show and the duo had immediately parted ways upon their arrival. He had a lot of things to take care of with his EVP duties and she needed to change so she could start interviewing talent.

Elise had decided to wear a pair of bejeweled maroon leggings, a white textured high-low tunic and red wedge booties with a studded strap around the ankle. She clipped her hair to the side with a maroon barrette and let it flow in loose waves over her shoulder. Her eye make up was done with tans and cream colors. She paired the light eyeshadow with a deep maroon lipstick.

She was carrying her microphone to use for her interviews, one of the many cameramen trailing behind her.

She rounded a corner and found herself staring into a very familiar pair of blue eyes. "Hey." She smiled. "I'm ready to report for duty."

"I can see that. You look beautiful." He said.

Elise felt her cheeks grow hot. She was surprised to receive such a blunt compliment from Kenny but she appreciated it. "Thank you so much."

"I have to go talk to some of the production team. Good luck with your interviews."

"Thanks Kenny. Good luck in your match tonight. I look forward to watching it. I know it is going to be amazing."

This time it was his cheeks that tinged pink. "Thanks Elise. See you later." He patted her on the shoulder as he walked past. She smiled as she watched him leave.

Elise had spent the better part of 3 hours interviewing and talking with the talent and crew. She knew she would have a lot of footage for the YouTube channel but, there was still one person she had to talk too. She walked toward the men's locker room. She figured it would be the best place to search for him seeing most of the talent were getting ready for the show. She was met by Cody who had been changing for his match.

"Hey, you need someone?" He asked.

"I just have Jon Moxley left to interview." She said, "Is he in there?"

Cody chuckled, looking amused. "Sure. I'll get him for you."

She frowned at the strange interaction. She took a few steps away from the locker room door so she wouldn't be in the way. She waited patiently for the men to arrive.

A few minutes later Cody appeared followed by a gruff looking man in a black vest and cargo pants.

"Elise, this is Jon. Jon, Elise." He motioned between them. "Enjoy your interview." He walked away, leaving Elise alone with the very intense looking man.

"Okay, Jon - How do you feel about your AEW debut tonight?"

"How do I feel? I'm fucking pumped. I feel revitalized, energized; I've been set free. This is a brand new company - it's uncharted territory and I'm going to bring sweet, beautiful violence back to wrestling" He said without hesitation. He rolled his shoulders.

Elise nodded her head, unsure of how to handle the man in front of her. "And why attack Kenny Omega?"

"Omega is just the first of many who will receive my own personal brand of violence." He replied. "The game is changing sugar and I'm going to be at the forefront of this war. AEW is making history and there is no history without a little bloodshed." He smirked at the uncomfortable look on Elise's face. "No one better stand in my way." He warned before turning and walking away, ending the segment.

"That wasn't much of an interview!" She called after him, rolling her eyes. Jon stopped in his tracks and she instantly regretted calling him out on his actions.

The cameraman had stopped filming and gave her a look of sympathy before walking away to give the film to the editors.

Jon turned around and walked back over. He stepped close enough to her that they were practically touching. Even in her heels he towered over her. "Sorry, Kitten was there anything else you wanted to ask me?" He asked.

"Well I didn't get to ask you what you were planning next or if you are done with Kenny or if you have plans following your attack on him." She retorted, sounding far braver than she felt. She looked up at him. The intensity of his gaze had her heart pounding.

He chuckled, "I guess those would have been good questions."

"Yea, they would have."

"Sorry toots. I got on a roll. Next time I'll try to let you get all your questions in."

"Thank you. I would appreciate that." She said.

He took a step back and gave her a once over. "I'll look forward to it." He smirked before walking away - leaving a bemused Elise to stare after him, mouth agape.

Elise interviewed several of the talents after their matches. The clips were being automatically uploaded to twitter and instagram by the production team. The show had just ended and Kenny was making his way backstage. He had a towel wrapped around his neck and a bottle of water in his hand.

She ran up to him and smiled, "You were absolutely amazing. What a match."

Kenny smiled gratefully and took a sip of his water. "Thanks Elise. I'm glad you enjoyed it."

"The entire pay per view was absolutely amazing. Did you hear those fans! The crowd was insane. It was awesome."

Kenny chuckled at her enthusiasm. "It was pretty awesome wasn't it? " Elise nodded in response. "What are you doing after the show?" He asked.

"I guess just going back to the hotel - maybe getting some room service. Why?"

He rubbed at the back of his neck, "Well - - I was just wondering if you - maybe - wanted to grab some dinner." He asked, looking nervous.

"Kenny Omega are you asking me out?" She asked, shocked.

Kenny blushed, looking nervous. "Well - I mean. . . If you were okay with it then - - yea . . . but, I mean if you're not - "

Elise froze. She wanted to answer him but, she was shocked. Kenny had always been very open about the fact that he wanted to focus on his career instead of dating.

"Sorry Elise. I didn't mean to make things awkward. I shouldn't ha - "

"I would like to go to dinner with you." She blurted out.

"What." He looked at her wide-eyed. "Really?"

Elise sucked in a shaky breath. "Yea, Yea. I'm sorry .I was just caught off guard. You always said how you didn't want to date. . . so I was kind of surprised to find the great Kenny Omega asking me out on date."

"The great Kenny Omega?" He rolled his eyes. "Come on Elise."

"What?" She smiled.

He shook his head, "I'm going to shower and change. Then we can head out, okay?"

"Sounds good to me." She smiled. "I'll be waiting."

He nodded and walked in the direction of the locker room. She watched him leave, a smile forming on her face.

"What's got you all smiley?"

She jumped and spun around.

"Wow, someone's jumpy." Moxley chuckled.

"Most people get jumpy when people sneak up on them unannounced."

"You're surrounded by people, it's not like I crept up behind you in a dark alley or something." He smirked.

Elise ignored the chill that snaked down her spine. The idea of Moxley alone in a dark alley was more than she wanted to think about. "Did you need something?" She asked.

"Nothing in particular. Just saw you standing there and thought I would say hi."

"Hi?" Elise said, brows furrowed.

"You still didn't tell me what made you all smiley." He leaned against the wall beside her.

"That's not really any of your concern, is it?"

"Woah," He held up his hands defensively. "Just trying to make conversation. Didn't mean to push any buttons." He was also carrying a bottle of water and took a sip. "See you around toots." He smiled and walked away, leaving Elise to stand, bemused, in the center of the hallway.

Elise applied a light coat of wine colored matte lipstick to her lips as she stood in front of the mirror. She gave herself a once over and nodded, satisfied with her look for her dinner with Kenny. She had chosen to wear a pair of olive green skinny jeans with a white sleeveless blouse and beaded sandals. It was a simple look but, Kenny had informed her that they were going to a casual eatery - seeing it was so late.

She grabbed her purse and stepped out into the hall. She was supposed to meet Kenny by the elevators. She walked over to the elevators and pulled out her phone. She was a few minutes early but, she didn't have to wait long for him to arrive.

"Hey." She smiled as she approached.

"Hey. Sorry you had to wait." He apologized. He pressed the down button on the elevator.

"Don't be. I was early." She smiled. "You were right on time."

He motioned for her to get on the elevator first when the doors slid open. "I was thinking maybe Ihop?"

"Sounds good to me." Elise smiled.

They rode the elevator in silence. When the doors opened he held them open for her. They walked out together, with Kenny holding the door open for her as they stopped out in the cool evening air.

"How did your first night go?" He asked as they walked toward the car.

"It was great. I had a lot of fun interviewing the talent. It was different from what I am used to but it was great."

"I am sure all of the interviews turned out great." He said as he opened the door for her. She got inside and waited for him to get in on the driver's side. Once he was in the driver's seat and the door was shut she continued their conversation.

"Well all of them except for Moxley's. He cut it short on me."

Kenny chuckled. "You just have to go with the flow with Jon." He pulled the car out onto the road.

"So I've learned."

"Did he give you a hard time?" Kenny asked, concerned.

"No, I wouldn't say that. He is just - - intense."

"He doesn't mean anything by it. He gets in a zone."

Elise nodded, "Good to know. I had a lot of fun watching all of the matches. They were amazing. But, yours was my favorite."

"I have the feeling you are being biased - or just trying to make me feel good under the circumstances."

"No I'm not!" Elise huffed indignantly. "You were amazing."

Kenny smiled, "Thanks Elise."

She nodded and looked out the window. It was hard to believe she had just finisehd her first night at a new company and now she was going on a date with her friend.

How quickly things changed and she couldn't be happier.
