Return of the Dark Lords Ch. 3

Starscream stared at the two with a deep glare, the majority directed at the other former second in command who hugged closer into the large bot before him.

Starscream was no fool. And arrogant idiot most of the time but he didn't get to becoming second in command of the Decepticon army without proving his metal.

What he lack in physical combat or any combat for that matter where the odds didn't favour him heavily he more than made up for with his tactical mind when it wasn't overwhelm by the obnoxious desires for power and self-glory.

So he knew he was at a disadvantage in both numbers and skill against Airachnid and this new being she was more than close to.

Still he kept on guard least he be snuffed out before getting his revenge on Megatron "an… opportunity?" the idea was tempting but he swore to himself he was done with serving masters, he was his own master from now on but that didn't mean he couldn't use these two for his own agenda then theirs.

They sought him out alone for a reason which meant he was important, a sense of pride swelled up within him as he knew he was still important to some beings.

Vulcan stepped forward towards the ex con with Arachnida still hugging herself against him "Yes. An opportunity for power and revenge against your former master Megatron, and… perhaps the Autobots." Every word he spoke enticed the ex Decepticon commander as Vulcan played at his motivation for revenge against all his enemies that spurned him one way or another.

"…go on." Starscream said but still with his guard up and ready to bolt should things turn south for the ex con which they most likely do.

"My name is Vulcan. One of the champions of Unicron The chaos bringer."

Starscream scoffed at the large yet terrifying bot's self-proclaimed title as a harbinger of the chaos bringer "Feh! Even Megatron is not deluded enough to call himself a Herald of the End Bringer."

This time it was Arachnida's turn to scoff as the ex con didn't know how wrong he was "I can assure you my dear Starscream that our once *mighty* master did in fact name himself a herald before the chaos bringer himself." At the time when Megatron proclaimed himself as a vessel of the chaos bringer she would've liked nothing more than to rip his spark out a thousand times were she her old self a few weeks ago.

Because as a true disciple and champion of the chaos bringer she would've subjugated any being foolish or insane enough to call himself a Herald of Unicron amongst his truer chosen to tortures and deaths far worse for such heretic claims.

Arachnida's optics glared threateningly at the seeker who felt like he was standing before a thousand enraged Megatron's from the seething glare that burned a hole in his spark "And you would do well to show respect to an actual champion of Unicron." She hissed out with her spider appendages twitching dangerously.

"Oh, how low you have truly gotten Airachnid to believe in this deluded fool." Starscream stared in shame of the new looking 8 legged arachnoid con that flung herself to this bot.

But his looks of disgust were replaced with awe as Vulcan held out his servos, and in the palm of his hand, and dark Energon shard was created "Do you still believe me to be delusional?" the lord of chaos asked with smirk as he watched the bewielded expression of the former con explode on his face.

To add it further he took a hold of the shard that then lengthen and transformed into a spear of pure dark crystallised energy.

"Tha-tha-That's! That's dark Energon!" Starscream exclaimed as he saw with his own optics, the dark substance manifested before him.

"However perspective of you Starscream. Yes this is dark Energon, manifested in its greatest form then the sample you and your former leader have experienced with the reanimation of the dead." Vulcan explained as he dematerialised the spear back into the shard form that he kept his grip on.

"How!?- How are you able to do that?" the previous fear of the seeker, now replaced with a thirst and hunger for the knowledge on how to control the dark power.

"With great practice any user of our maker's life blood can utilise its limitless potential. But as I stated before Starscream, I am Vulcan. First born champion of the dark maker himself, and I have come for you."

Starscream heard the name. And like many of Primus's children he knew the dark name of the Foebringer himself, who with his brothers and sisters would return back from the dark recesses of the galaxy to reap vengeance upon the primus and his disciples.

"W-what do you want from me?" the seeker asked, afraid for what intentions these monsters needed from him.

Vulcan merely chuckled lightly; the gentle smile on his face did not ease the seeker's worries "My dear Starscream. I only want your co-operation, your willingness, your… allegiance."

At this, the former con himself now stared with a glare at the dark lord "You wish for me to swear myself to you?" Starscream made a vow.

An oath.

A promise that he was no one's master but himself.

The ex-seeker commander was tired of being number two and making alliances with those who would use him. He was out only for himself.

If these two wanted him to join, then he'd do so if only to use them for his own desires.

"Indeed. But this new job, offers far greater benefits then your previous occupation under Megatron." Vulcan knew of the seekers failed and otherwise disappointing employments as a former great seeker commander then turned Decepticon second in command during the war "For example, how would you like to wield the power of Dark Energon at a far greater extent than your former master?"

At this, Starscream optics lit up when he heard that he could control dark Energon "Are you saying… I could control the Power of Dark Energon to my very will?" his twisted power obsessed mind dreamt of wielding the uncontrollable dark substance at a far greater level then his former master.

His ambitions giving life to wild idea's and images of the dark energy granting him powers and abilities of god like proportions. Raising the dead seemed trivial compared to what Vulcan demonstrated as he made and shaped a dark energon shard into a weapon of his imagination.

"I'm saying is that you already possess power, you just need to fully embrace it." What neither Starscream nor Megatron. The latter soon learning that once one embraces the dark substance, they initially change from one maker to the other voluntarily "No one just ups and leave after inserting a shard of Dark Energon into their very spark. Once you take that plunge, if you survive, you forever pledge yourself to Unicron himself."

The two cybertronians were now marked and linked to the dark maker himself.

No longer returning the all spark upon their death, now once their bodies had been destroyed, their souls would be flung to the anti-Spark of chaos.

"Now. Starscream…do you accept our offer and pledge your allegiance to us? "Vulcan's hand extended out to the seeker who weighed his choices carefully.

Starscream weighed his options carefully.

This could be the opportunity he had been waiting for to gain the advantage to snuff out his former leader's spark.

But at the same time, he would be pledging himself to individuals far more powerful and deadly then the lord of the Decepticons.

He would be quite literally selling his soul to the cybertronians devil so the speak.

But this was the opportunity that comes only once in his life.

If he said yes, he would be pledging his soul to new masters for the powers his ex-lord could only dream of having.

If he said no… it was highly unlikely that he would be walking out of his cave alive.

Starscream may be a coward.

An ego-megalomaniac.

A treasonous snivelling waste of metal.

But he was no fool and he was an opportunist.

So with pride swallowed and confidence hesitant… "I… Accept." He bowed humbly before the two ancient gods of chaos.

Vulcan was pleased "Wonderful. I was afraid that you needed further convincing." Without warning, several large bots dropped down from the ceiling and surrounded them.

"Insecticons!" Starscream screamed out in pure terror, he was completely unaware that he more then just out matched.

He was outnumbered, as the Insecticons were always there. Waiting and watching to see how it all plays out.

Thankfully for the frighten seeker who likely lost several years out of his robotic life, they were passive before the presence of their leaders.

Arachnida merely laughed as she savoured his frighten expression that she delighted in "What's the matter Starscream. Scared of a few Insecticons~" Arachnida sang out as she pushed from Vulcan and walked along the ring of the large and ferocious cybertronians species.

Her hand gliding and tracing over their chins and mandibles as they were docile and tamed at her presence.

Their eye's glowing to match hers in colour as she did a complete walk around of their ring "Oh you need not worry. They won't bite… least I tell them to~" their minds were dominated under her will.

They obeyed without question.

Their loyalty to her as their hive mind mentality saw her as a queen and a goddess.

There was no hesitation or reluctance within them.

Only absolute obedience to the letter.

"Now that we've established our ranks and numbers. It's time to begin the next step." Vulcan said before he presented the shard he had been holding to Arachnida "Take this and stab it into the buried half of the Harbinger." He instructed.

Without delay, Arachnida took it, and began to drill her way into the ground, and towards the broken and buried half of the ancient warship.

"You Starscream. Are going to lead me to the other half the Harbinger." Vulcan command.

Starscream wasted no time in transforming into his areal form and basted off.

Vulcan followed suit, jumping into their air as his body flipped and transformed into his own areal form.

The wings he had on his back now acted as the thrusters and aviation as they based right at the tail of an arrow shaped body of gilded steel.

The lord of chaos flew after the seeker commander with the Insecticons following right after them.

-The Harbinger-

The two allied servants of chaos had arrived at the front half of the broken ancient Decepticon warship. The Harbinger, a derelict ancient ship from final days of cybertron.

Starscream and Vulcan at the front half of the Harbinger while Arachnida went to the buried other half.

"Why are we here? If we wanted a ship, why not assault the Nemesis, or search for the Autobots fabled Ark?" Starscream voiced his confusion as to why Vulcan was at this derelict wreck beyond salvage and repair.

The Insecticons soon caught and transformed into their bipedal and actual forms aside from their beetle form transformation that grants them flight. "Because taking them on our own will expose us. The last time the autobots and decepticons faced a greater and common foe, they united to face them." Vulcan's memories as his time as Jack Darby granted him the knowledge of when times were dire for both earth and the universe when he Maker began his re-emergence only for the two hated factions of Autobots and Decepticons joined in an uneasy alliance to prevent Unicron's return. And the same was likely going to happen were they to be known to the Decepticons. "A lesson Unicron learned quite well. This is why we are not going to face them directly, but weaken them first until the time comes to reveal ourselves and deliver the killing blow."

The only saving grace of revealing himself to the Autobots was that they held some belief that they could cure him and so would not risk his safety and wellbeing by informing Megatron who would destroy, dismantle and study his corpse to learn the secrets of dark gods they were.

Soon, a familiar sound of a drill and the quaking of the earth alerted them to the presence of Arachnida before the soil and earth upheaved and then exploded out as 8 metal sharp legs rotated upwards before the body shot out and landing on her thin appendages was the 8 legged lord of chaos Arachnida.

"Is it in place?" Vulcan asked as she walked up to join them.

"Yes. And just waiting for your dazzling trick you've got up your sleeve." She confirmed and stood back as Vulcan took a few steps towards the crashed ship.

Vulcan's hand a lit in violet flames that intensified gradually before he raised them in the air and gigantic warped sphere appeared in the sky before them "BEHOLD! The power of dark Energon Mastered!" The distorted and violent orb of chaotic energy exploded to reveal the lower half of the Harbinger, maintaining its place in the air thanks to Vulcan.

"By the all Spark." Starscream breathed out in awe, as he had just witness what would've been considered the impossible. The lower half of the Harbinger which was previously buried under miles of dirt and rock of this planet's land was now teleported to their exact location.

Such powers and technology needed wouldn't be precise and costed a lot of energon and time to get the right calculations right to pull the whole thing out from the dirt, rock and stone it was enclosed under.

"I think you mean Anti Spark Starscream." Arachnida quipped as she watched as the dark matter was masterfully controlled and manipulated to god like creativity and power. "But Yes, your right. The power of dark Energon holds unlimited possibilities for those who know how to shape and control it."

With dark Energon planted on both halves of the ship, Vulcan control the small shards of dark Energon implanted within them, using they're grand power to fuse the two halves back together. Both halves joined once more, all sign of damage and tear gone and the body renewed but he was not done.

Powerful bursts of energy danced between his inflamed servos before he thrusted them towards the glowing mass where the once dancing violet electricity began to strike the ship and mould it from every part. Nothing was left untouched as thick smouldering smoke gathered around it, obscuring the whole ship "Behold, the Harbinger Reborn." Vulcan said as raging storm within the cloud covered ship flashed, giving glimpses of the vessel within as it changed in shape and size drastically. "And now for the name of our new vessel of Darkness" All stared in awe of the magnificent newly transformed vessel of chaos that hovered over them.

The gigantic ship radiated an imposing air of power and might.

(The ship maintained its size but a lot of it was different then its original form. The head of the ship which previously featured a spiked front and tall arrow head the was the bridge was reshaped with the front transformed into a singular long head that splits open to reveal a large hanger bay with two large spikes protruding from both sides of front and shooting forward from head in a forked shape. The bridge was moved backwards to the bow of the ship where the large engines were located, the body of the bridge was split in two with a smaller deck standing in front of the main deck that stretched upwards with thick heavy metal plating box in shape as it sat at the back of the ship with the top carrying a reinforced sharp platting that protected the main helm.

Large triple barrel cannon sat above the hanger entrance roof, with smaller and double barrel versions of it lining up behind it all the way to the bridge. On its sides that dipped in a straight diagonal stood a multitude of small guns with rotating barrels as they occupied their entire flank as they dropped to the edge of the armoured plating, below them sitting at the end of the heavily armoured plating a 6 row of large double barrel cannons that looked straight ahead of their sights.

Near the front and ahead of the weapon decorated sides protruding out in its own separate part was large and bold diamond shaped part that was 1/3 of the Harbingers weapon body but it had no weapons on it apart from the double barrel gun that sat on the top, it dipped down in the same way as the side guns but a few more metre's longer. 3 small holes line up upwards towards the top on its body from each side, no weapons in them and they were big enough for a small ship to fly out and into.

Behind, the engines stood under the long cover of the bow that stretched outwards in a sharp diamond end, 2 long and large shaped engines were located right under the cover with smaller thrusters decorating underneath them.

The once sharp edges and spikes where gone with large wings and tail rudders all found at the back protruding from all three direction underneath and beside the bow, from the sides the wings shot outwards and forward, stretching out to ½ of the Gun decorated body. While underneath a large and thick rudder stretched underneath the ship.

The ship was coloured in a dark obsidian black with gold outlines and red glowing highlights.)

(Warhammer Chaos ship Despoiler)

Arachnida was the first to offer her opinion "How about the Vengeance?" a name suited to their goal of taking vengeance upon this galaxy for their eons of humiliating captivity.

Next it was Starscream "The Ravager?" The former second in command was drooling at the prospect that he too could have the power to shape Dark energon into formidable weapons like the glorious vessel before them. Such imaginations of power often turned towards them being used in destroying his former master Megatron.

However both ideas were dismissed as Vulcan had the perfect name for their soon to be christened vessel "No. I know the perfect Name for our instrument of chaos. The Oblivion." The name fitted the ship that would be the harbinger to the end of all their enemies and those that stand in their way.

But all was not done yet, as one more critical component was needed in the completion of this ship.

Vulcan turned to the seeker commander "Commander Starscream. As a former officer from the deception ranks, you know how to key this ship to a Decepticon signature." His words snapped Starscream of his daydreaming to look at the lord of darkness with a questionable look

"Of course. But why?" he wondered as to reason of this request.

"Because in order to destroy our enemies, we must do so from within their ranks. The Decepticons have the numbers and technology but also hold some of the relics we need to keep out of their hands least they fall to the Autobots."

Vulcan knew that the massive amount of energy he spent would easily be detected by both the Autobots and Decepticons. So they needed to get off the ground "my little show here did not go unnoticed, and we need to take off as soon as we can."

-Inside the oblivion-

In the inside of the Oblivion matched the outside with blazing red halls much larger than the Nemesis's own, allowing for much larger bots such as the Insecticons to traffic through in both ways.

The ship was also large enough to house a city worth of bots inside.

Vulcan toured them through their vessel, but for the time being a proper tour is will have to wait "For now, a complete exploration of our ship will have to be delay until we settle the matter with the Decepticons." He said to the two following behind him.

They continued to travel through with Arachnida and Starscream taking into detail their surroundings before they arrived at a large door "at the moment you'll stay here until we're clear." The doors opened to behold to all viewers a large room the size of the Decepticon bridge but maybe a bit bigger.

It was red in colour style with black outlines that ran at the edges of the room where the walls and roof joined, gold highlights ran along the walls humming with energy.

In the middle of the room sat a large golden throne, big enough for a being of Vulcan size and statue to sit in. the throne was golden in its imposing frame with sold bold arm rest that were all a part of the chair, golden cybertronians skulls adorned the front mantle of the arms and legs of the throne while on the frame sitting above was another golden skull sat imbedded at the top of the throne's frame only it was larger and surrounded in a circular symbol, blazing red ruby's glowed from its eye sockets while it's skeletal maw was roaring open showing it's rows of razor sharp teeth.

Around the room, see through red tapestries hung from the ceiling, golden outlines were seen on its edges but the notable thing about this tapestries was they all had the same emblem on them. Much like the Autobots and Decepticon emblems that identified them, this emblem was gold in tone, and it was squared like the Autobots with the top curving downwards forming a rounded helmet with two large horns sprouting from both sides of the head.

A large screen sat above them settled at the top of the door projecting a clear view of the outside.

Another door lay just beyond the throne and on the other side of the room.

"Impressive." Arachnida breathed out as she walked into Vulcan personal chambers along with Starscream who equally marvelled at the grand interior the same as her and wondered what his own room would be like.

"I'm glad you like it. But onto important matter, Starscream?" Vulcan said, earning the seeker's attention "Would you kindly use that terminal over there to input our new I'D into the Decepticon records." He said, pointing to the terminal ready for them.

Starscream went over and went onto it, seeing the highly advanced terminal open up to him, he easily hacked into the Decepticon networking, using old clearances that Soundwave had yet to lock down or forgot to but knowing the silent con it was the former especially since the codes he was using was ancient and no longer afforded him access to the high-level secrets and technology, only records.

It wasn't long until the main HUD screen above them beeped off, informing the three that they were being hailed "and not a moment too soon." Vulcan said before he willed his control over the ship to pen up a vocal channel with the Nemesis

"Unknown ship. This is the Decepticon warship the Nemesis, we order to identify yourself." Called out the voice of an ordinary Decepticon drone and not Megatron himself.

Vulcan prepared himself, altering his voice before he spoke in a new young tone"*Ahem* Hailing Decepticon Warship Nemesis. This is the deception dreadnaught Sovereignty, commander Deadlock speaking." He said with his voice almost sounding like his human self only older and mature.

His eye's glancing toward the ex-Decepticon commander who gave him a thumb up telling him that he was successful as the drone on the other line was no doubt checking the old records for their ships name and his.

After some time he got a response back "Everything checks out Sovereignty. Report directly to the Nemesis for inspection. Lord Megatron wishes to speak to you." and with that the channel was cut and they receive the rendezvous coordinates to meet up with the Decepticon flag ship.

Vulcan turned his compatriots with a sinister smirk "Show time." He said, before his body was engulfed in violet energy that was blind to the two who could barely watch as they saw the blinding illuminating form of Vulcan reshape in size and edges.

-Meanwhile. On board the nemesis.-

Megatron waited on his bridge, news of another Decepticon warship was alerted to him immediately and he waited to see the supposed commander Deadlock.

While he knew not the names of every Decepticon under his ranks he had never heard of this sovereignty or this commander, granted the Decepticon forcers were split amongst the stars hunting down the Autobots stragglers so this bot could've risen through the ranks during the years of exodus from their home world.

But regardless of all of that he was more interested to see what the ship had to offer in terms of crew and weaponry it possesses that would aid in his quest for the destruction of the Autobots and his conquest of the universe.

He didn't have to wait long and when it arrived, his eye's nearly exploded from his head as he bared witness to the great warship flying y-axis before the Nemesis, The newly reborn Harbinger made the nemesis look like a dwarf as even though it levelled with from the base, The sovereignty was bigger than the nemesis in terms of size both height, length and width.

The colossal ship was heavily armed and armoured and when compared to the nemesis then that should be a ship worthy of being the flag ship to the Decepticon cause and his personal base of power.

Quickly getting over his shock and awe, Megatron reassumed his stature and opened up communication to ship

"Decepticon warship Sovereignty, this is Lord Megatron. Standby for boarding procedures." He demanded and cut off communication before any response could be made, not that Megatron would give them the choice.

The nemesis piloted alongside the big ship where a long boarding tube extended from the sovereignty to and attached to the Nemesis's side where the warlord used it to cross over along with a handful of Decepticon soldiers including his loyal champions Soundwave and Dreadwing.

They travelled through till they got to the access door that opened to their presence where waiting for them was the supposed commander system shock.

He was young by cybertronians standards but held himself with an air of an old veteran, he stood nearly to Megatron's height, his brown and steel coloured armour was more rounded and slick then square and bold, namely at chest where the amour protected the spark, there at the centre within the hexagonal lit plate was the Decepticon emblem shining amber from the red back ground.

His shoulder guards were pointed at the tip with small spikes protruding from the top of the plates, he wore bronze vambraces over his arms that ended a the elbows along with armoured boots that connected all the way to the pelvis in bronze fashion, his abdomen however was exposed revealing the dark slim frame there.

His on his head he wore a rounded helmet that was similar to Megatron's however it had more edged to it as it slicked back into two pointed edges that shot backwards, the front of the helmet exposing his face formed a T shaped open visor with the top stretching to the side of his face from the eye's but ended before the ears where the helmet covered over.

His face was young with burning red eyes.

But that was not all about him.

Standing right behind him were Insecticons.

Naturally his escort were on edge upon seeing the terrifying hulking cybertrionian beasts known as Insecticons whose ferocity were legendary among the other cybertrionian lifeform of their system. Their viciousness and brutality were feared by all especially the true inhabitants of cybertron who tread lightly when among them.

"Lord Megatron. I am commander Deadlock of the warship Sovereignty." They young bot of the disguised Chaos lord bowed to the Lord of the Decepticons with great respect, followed by his bodyguards whose imposing forms knelt down to the Decepticon company "Welcome, how may I and my crew be of service to you?"

Megatron was not expecting this.

He was not expecting a bot of his age to command this gargantuan ship much less the utter authority of the Insecticons behind him. "I must admit, you were not at all what I was expecting. You're bit young to be a commander, especially to command authority of the Insecticons." Insecticons were not to be trifled with.

Their hulking frames gave a clear indication to their brute strength that was legendary compared to their frightening appearance that gave personification to their ferocity. None but the most strong and powerful cybertronians can earn the right to lead the Insecticons.

So what did that say about the bot before him?

Vulcan however, as his deadlock persona, maintained a clear and unbroken militaristic demeanour "My age may warrant caution but it does not hamper my ability to command here my lord. as for the Insecticons, My former commanding officer blunder led to the complete extermination of the ship's original inhabitants so I took charged and proved my strength which you know doubt know the Insecticon's respect."

Megatron seemed sold on the story, no doubt relating to his own company of officers "Indeed. The Insecticons are known for their value in strength, and I must admit you certainly hold a great merit if you are able to take charge of the Insecticons." "Will you… allow me to investigate your vessel, to judge if your vessel is capable of what I have planned." With Megatron it was never a request but a subtle command

"Of course my lord. If you will follow me."

-Meanwhile in Vulcan's personal chambers.-

Inside the secret chambers of Vulcan, Arachnida and Starscream watched through the security cameras of the ship, the both of them seeing Vulcan masterfully deceive Lord Megatron with his guise.

Though one of them was seething with uncontained rage at seeing how close and defenceless his former master was as the lord of all Decepticons was deep inside their ship, surrounded, outnumbered and out powered with the combined might of the two champions of Unicron and their army of Insecticons.

Arachnida however was sitting upon the throne, watching with amused delight at her beloved's use of cunning deception to trick the might lord Megatron.

However her enjoyment was soon turned to irritation as the other being in the room opened his mouth.

"I don't understand as to why we don't just attack Megatron while he's in our clutches? We have him out matched and out numbered while he prowls around our ship." Starscream seethed out, glaring hatefully at the image of his traitorous lord and master who inspected the ship, completely exposed for a surprise attack.

Arachnida rolled her optics at the so called former second in command and air commander that the scrawny seeker like to bluster, Starscream's selfish wounded pride and lack of foresight blinded him to many things and hampered his ability to think logically and see them through himself.

Arachnida huffed out loudly and purposeful to earn the seeker's attention "Do you not remember what Vulcan said? Even if we do manage to eliminate lord Megatron, then we'd have to contend with the combined forces of the Autobots and Decepticons at their full strength." She reminded the ex Decepticon about their situation and many enemies they have.

"It is better to wait and watch as our enemies tear each other to pieces then strike when they are at their weakest." She said as she diverted her attention back onto the screen where her violet optics gleamed as they watched her superior with earnest adoration and love.

-Back with Vulcan-

Vulcan or rather by his disguised named DeadLock gave the might lord of the Decepticons a tour of his vessel as they pasted by many rooms except his where Megatron and his company saw the crew of the ship working diligently in task's better suited to engineers and servant class then the roles best suited for their ferocious battle hardened skills.

"As you can see lord Megatron, the Insecticons are the part of the entire infrastructure that runs the whole ship. Maintenance, logistics along with guard detail are all of their assignments." Vulcan introduced the dark lord to the crew's tireless labours around the ship.

Naturally Megatron was impressed, not only with the ship itself but with its crew who performed their duties without complaint or hesitation in their work, but most importantly he was intrigued by the young commander who somehow managed to maintain this huge vessel "I'm very impressed. Naturally the Insecticons are mainly used for hard labour or vanguard deployment, but you've shown that they can be used for other duties then those reserved for muscle." He praised him as they passed by a lot that were cleaning the halls.

"It wasn't easy, but it's mainly due to this ship, they help to keep it running effectively."

"As I'm sure you're wondering this ship is beyond Decepticon design. Originally it was a science ship or rather a vessel to conduct research and testing of objects to be used for the Decepticon cause." Vulcan gave the might lord the false backstory of the ship's history "One of said materials of research was on the manipulation of Dark Energon that as you can see, has performed beyond expectations."

Megatron's eyebrows shot into his helm with his optics bursting wide open with startling surprise and shock of what he heard "Dark Energon did all of this!?" he exclaimed and he wasn't alone in his awe as his escort stared in utter disbelief of this ship's

Vulcan contained the laughter that wanted to escapes from him at the sight of the fearsome dark lord's look of utter astonishment "yes, my lord. We have managed to create a tool that allows us to manipulate the unstable and powerful qualities of the substance to create more efficient tools of war, this ship is but one of them." Vulcan lied but how else was he to convince the lord of the Decepticons not to take this ship for his own.

"Care to show me?" Megatron asked, interested to know and possess the ability and knowledge to make something like this, his dark mind at work with conjuring many imposing and terrifying weapons to use against the Autobots.

"Naturally." Vulcan said as he walked towards the room he had prepared for the lord of the Decepticons.

(Entering it, it appeared to be a large room, the size of a stadium where a large spike protruded directly above in the centre, humming with the flow of Energon in vibrant dark purple highlight. On the hexagonal shaped walls overlooking it all was the control room that monitored and control the equipment that he planned to show them

Vulcan led them in and presented the co called tool that made the ship "As you can see before you. This spire is where the power of dark Energon is truly utilised. When powered, anything within the room and directly under the spire is transformed at the whim of the controllers within the control room." He pointed to the control room overhead.

There was a set of stairs that led up and into control room "This way but first, I need a volunteer?" Megatron looked to Dreadwing who seemed begrudging but accepted his lord's command and pulled out his large cannon gun and reluctantly passed it to new deception commander who took it and then walked to the centre of the room, and placed the weapon directly under the point of the spire.

He then walked back and gestured for his guests to follow as he walked towards the stair case and up into the control room where large console laid out before them with several monitors surrounding one large main monitor on the back wall opposite the control console. The doors sealed behind them and Vulcan pressed a large button that lowered the shields directly over the stairs and completing the perfect hexagonal walled surface.

"The spire you see before you was recovered from an archaeological dig site on the far fringes of the Darkmist nebula. It was brought on board after tests reveal it to be an object of unknown make and origins yet radiating large amounts of dark Energon." Vulcan began his backstory onto the ships origins and the large radiating spire in the large chamber before them. "Under the command of my predecessor, the spire was loaded on board for testing. It was here that he along with the entirety of the ships original cybertronian crew was within this very chamber when he activated it. Thank primus I was safe behind the shielding and the Insecticons were dormant within a sealed chamber. The spire activated, unleashing a burst of raw dark Energon that vaporised everything within the chamber before it melded into the ship as you see before you and upgraded it into fearsome dreadnought you know now."

Megatron was impressed to say the least.

The dark lord of the Decepticons fancied himself a master of the dark substance of the chaos bringer, yet in reality he was a novice. Only grasping the basics of what the dark energy was capable of besides raising the dead. "Impressive. Care to give me a demonstration?" Megatron was eager to see the object reveal its powers to him.

Vulcan nodded "Certainly." His servos went to work on the console were the energy levels began to rise as seen on the computerised chart. He then back around to the larger screen were the image of Dreadwing's cannon appeared, his hands were placed on them and there they began to take apart, re-arrange and add to the weapon, showing to the full image of what the new two handed cannon would be before he backtracked to the first console and pulled the large lever down.

Sparks and violet currents of power danced along the body of the spire as they travelled down to the point, the body of the large object hummed and glowed before all of that pent up power was finally unleashed in a bolt of raw energy that connected onto the weapon below.

A blinding stream of power continuously slammed down onto the platform below, engulfing nearly half the room in light and blind the cybertronians who squinted through their optics and hands to see what they could as flashes of lightening from the spire zapped down onto the point, creating large clouds of dust in the making that swallowed up the room in a thick cloud of smoke that obscured the room.

Soon the spire powered down after it had completed it tasks and the room was vented free of the smoke that soon cleared out. Vulcan powered down the consoles and opened up the shield wall to the stairs where he and Megatron's party ventured down and then onto the platform where, waiting for them was Dreadwing's new and improved cannon.

The loyal Decepticons awed at his weapon as he picked up, and was amazed by how light and awesome it looked and felt.

What was once a simple two handed cannon was now an together upgraded weapon of death, the long cylinder barrel that was white in body was now obsidian black with the body still maintaining its cylinder body however three large rectangular chambers formed around it in a Tri fashion where Energon hummed from these vented power chambers, Triple barrel heads sat in the nozzle of the gun, offering more rapid fire then before while still keeping the firepower to the whole weapon.

"As you see. The spire is capable of taking any material, raw or forged, and reshapes it into any desired item the user wishes." Vulcan stood by the side as he watched as his plan was going all according to his carefully laid out scheme. "We have here, the Inicron version of the forge of Solus Prime." One can only imagen the face of ancient cybertronian warrior when she hears of dark energon version of her great forge.

Vulcan had no doubt in his mind that Arachnida was sharing the sly smile playing on his lips, and the even bigger grin he was hiding as he thought on how said cybertronian on her brethren were turning in their graves.)

In Megatron, he knew he could not let such an asset like this slip away from him after losing much of his troops and commanders such as Airachnid and Breakdown, he needed to fill the gap with fresh and reliable champions to get the job done. On top of that he needed to tie this young command to him if he wanted to acquire the gargantuan warship and its crew as his own and there was only one available option to give him that.

Gathering his composer as he assumed the statue and regal demeanour of warlord addressing a soldier as he walked around to Vulcan "Deadlock. You have certainly presented yourself as a very capable leader." He said, never losing face or momentum as he walked with his hands clasped behind his back.

Vulcan acted humble and proud at the praising words "your words honour me my lord." he said bowing his head to the towering war lord.

"Skills and ability's like yours are a rarity in this age of exodus. And I would hate for them to be wasted, therefore I would like to extend to you my offer as second in command to the Decepticon ranks!"

Many expressions went as Megatron Offered Vulcan a rank and position second only to him.

For Dreadwing who was promised such a position, looked at his master with surprise and disappointment as he was promised the opportunity to gain said position and rank upon eliminating the traitorous second in command before him Airachnid. But intervention by an unknown being forced him to retreat whilst Airachnid's fate remained unclear as to the purpose of the mysterious and dangerous being's intentions for her, he returned disgraced and alone with the tragic death of Breakdown leaving room for a new commander and champion for Megatron to be filled.

In the other part the ship watching was Starscream who gnashed his teeth at his former boss offering the highest position of power within the Decepticons ranks that was once his quickly to Vulcan. He felt insulted that the place he coveted and spilled many energon, both Autobot and Decepticons to achieve this high office second only to the dark lord himself, so to watch that it was simply offered to another upon first meeting, had him beside himself with rage whilst another watched with amusement at the scene.

Though Arachnida was in the same boat as Starscream as a former Decepticons and second in command to Megatron, she hardly felt any spark of anger or resentment upon the scene of her former office being passed around like mere object when she earned the rank through the same way Starscream did.

Instead she was giddy, watching the ex-former con through a fit of rage that was hilarious and watching as her Dear Vulcan fooled the great Megatron and had the position to do it with only one word the secure his position for cutting Meagrton's Throat.

However to everyone's surprise Vulcan said words instead of just the one "I am honoured Lord Megatron." He said as he kneeled down to the Lord of the Decepticons with full humility "But I must decline."

What smile's and looks of jealous resentment were quickly wiped away with surprise and dumbfounded shock replacing their faces.

"What!? WHY!?" Megatron cried out in shock over the refusal that many have killed to gain.

Vulcan still continued to kneel down to the now enraged lord of the Decepticons as he gave his explaination "Forgive my insulting refusal. But while I am honoured, I do not deserve such a position so easily without proving myself."

What flash of anger that Megatron had replaced with sudden peak of interest in the bot before him.

Meanwhile in Vulcan's room, Starscream was nearly wrenching the terminal from its post in his fit of blind rage over what the champion of Unicorn was doing in what the former sky commander considered to be the most opportune if not Perfect moment to deal a swift and killing blow to the leader of the Decepticons.

"What is he doing!?" Starscream cried out in utter disbelief of what he was just witnessing.

He was not alone, however his companion Arachnida soon concluded what her beloved Vulcan was doing "Gaining Megatron's trust." She answered, looking at the scene with awe at how masterfully deceptive the first son of Unicorn was being as he easily wormed his way into the dark lord's trust 'my dear. How I have missed that devious mind of yours.' She thought as she stared lovingly at her disguised mate, watching as he continued his beautiful charade.

Vulcan stood up to address Megatron with the best expression of honesty and respect he had for larger bot "we have only just met. And while you can see that I am a capable commander, I have yet to earn your complete trust and faith in my abilities that you know nothing of. I believe that someone more suited who is well known to you my lord deserves such a place." Megatron quirked an eyebrow at the young being who demonstrated a humbleness and cool collectiveness that the master of the Decepticons army had not seen before.

Megatron waited to hear who this young bot had in mind to fill the vacant role as his second in command. "Commander Dreadwing."

No one was more surprised to hear that name being volunteered then Dreadwing himself who was caught by surprise at being named to fill the role by the very being he was honestly jealous of a minute ago when he was named for the position as his master's right hand man.

Megatron was interested to find that bot under his ranks would name another to a position of higher power and authority then his own "tell me. Why is Dreadwing more suited to the role then you?" he asked, coming to like this Young bot… a little more which is saying something for the lord of the Decepticons.

Vulcan gave his answer as he recalled the tales of the Twin aerial warrior's history from Optimus "I've read his file in my spare time adrift through the cosmos. He has an impressive record of completing missions assigned by you my lord, along with history of fighting by your side and leading men out of tough situations. He is a capable warrior and field commander. It is my belief that he is more suited to this role not just because of its qualities but his virtues as well. He is the most loyal member of your circle amongst many others who would use their power and position to usurp you."

During the speech, Dreadwing felt touched by the young commander's words and opinion that he should be ranked above him. And while pride may have him agreeing to such a statement, Honour recognised that the young warrior was to be commended for his selflessness and humility in denying a position of power he has not earned.

Megatron was silent as he processed this information.

While he would've like to have had such a young bot directly under his wing so as to keep a better eye on him and have a more direct control over his forces. He couldn't deny his words of Dreadwing's credibility and integrity, along with his renown that had him perfect for this position where for once in his life he needed a Lieutenant he trust and not stab him in the back like his two previous second in commands.

The cowardly snivelling excuse for a deception known as Starscream.

And the cunning and deceptive hunter Airachnid.

Both bots currently missing and rogue from their ranks with the latter saved or hopefully terminated by the mysterious bot that snuffed out Breakdown.

"… you speak true. I have indeed been surrounded by sycophants and traitorous bots for too long. Perhaps it's about time I appointed someone I have my every confidence in." Megatron had decided what he needed to do, though he wished it was the way he wanted it, he couldn't deny it any longer especially since he was flanked by his two loyal followers.

"Dreadwing step forward." Megatron commanded of the aerial warrior who did as he was told before the large gladiator bot turned to face him "you have proven yourself be my most loyal follower. And thus, are worthy of being my second in command."

Dreadwing knelt before his master, humbled beyond words of this promotion "Lord Megatron. I am honoured." He said to his master with his head bend down to his feet as knelt down on one knee.

As he stood up, Vulcan walked up to him and stood at attention "Commander Dreadwing." He addressed his newly ranked superior as he stood attention towards him like a solider "commander deadlock. Me and my crew are at your disposal sir!" he stated with his hands clasped behind his straighten back.

Megatron grinned as he foresaw the ever approaching demise of his enemy Optimus with his new reinforcements added to his once dwindling numbers. "Excellent! We can now move forward with our plans of wiping out the Autobots on this miserable planet."

Vulcan acted surprised to hear this "Autobots sir!? I didn't know that there any left after we wiped out an entire base on omega 6."

Megatron sighed tiredly "I'm afraid there are. These Autobots are not to be trifled with, they are the most dangerous and high valued members of their resistance. All led by Optimus himself."

Vulcan acted even more shocked "A Prime is here!?" he cried out in awe, like he didn't expect this.

A frown married the warlord's features as he remembered the ever irksome reminder of his enemy's presence that forever continues to be a thorn in his side "Indeed. And he has constantly thwarted our efforts to conquering this world."

Vulcan stepped up, a determined glare upon his face as his eyes lit with fire before he smashed his fist to his chest plate "My lord, it would be my honour to aid you in terminating the last of the primes."

Megatron couldn't help but smile at the young bot's enthusiasm and drive to aid him in destroying his foe "I'm glad to see such spirit. But for now, familiarise yourself with the nemesis and report directly to your new commander with any concerns or complaints you have."

"Yes my lord." Vulcan nodded as he escorted the three Decepticons off his ship.

Vulcan returned back to his quarters, the once seal latches of the gigantic door opened and the chaos lord stride in, still within his disguised form as he entered his chambers. His figure grew to its original size as his armour reformed back to its strong physic with the wings shooting back out.

He was greeted by the two other rogue con's that were waiting for him.

Arachnida was the first, strutting off Vulcan's throne with an amused and loving smirk "Wonderfully done my dear. Your acting nearly had me fooled." She cooed as she walked up to him and kissed him on the lips.

However not all shared the same optimism over Vulcan's ploy, as the lone seeker grumbled in his corner of the room "…yes… it was… certainly a show."

Vulcan separated from his lip matching with Arachnida to address the sulking ex con "Your tone tells me that you did not like the outcome. Tell me Starscream, how would you have handled it?" He asked with an unimpressed look as he addressed the scrawny bot with how he would've handled the situation in his own way.

Starscream grumbled for the words that he was the centre of attention in the room "I-I would've snuff out Megatron's spark right when he was deep in your clutches!" he answered with arrogant and confident smirk by the end of it.

But Vulcan was unimpressed, nay he was annoyed by the former con seekers insight which was to be expected to the chaos Lord of the rogue commander's constant blunders brought upon by his arrogance and lack of foresight that has many of his plans and scheme's failing before they even began.

Vulcan gave a tired sigh as he gently pushed Arachnida away to speak to the seeker. "Okay, let's say hypothetically that I managed to get the surprise on the lord of the Decepticons. What happens next?"

"Well… well-uh…?" Starscream really hadn't thought about what happens after he kills Megatron.

His plan's always consisted of ruling over the mighty Decepticon forces as Lord Starscream, Ruler of Cybertron and the cosmos.

This was usually planned out with the termination of Megatron one way or the other.

But there was no real thought into the aftermath of his successful ploy in assassinating Megatron.

He hadn't really given to as much thought of the other Decepticon commanders and armies spread around the galaxy staking their own claim for supremacy over the Decepticon faction.

He also never really thought about the current Decepticon army under his former lord and master acting upon his successful usurpation of the Dark Lord's Throne.

But Vulcan opened his eyes to these events.

"You forget that Megatron wasn't alone. If I had managed to destroy him, then I'd have to face off against his two most loyal bodyguards Dreadwing and soundwave. The latter being the more troublesome of the two to fight against." The silent con was a bot full of surprises.

The Decepticon spy master has demonstrated a well-hidden potency and combat skills that the silent con has never been seen to use until pushed into action.

Something that Arachnida and Arcee a very personal experience against when both faced off against the faceless Decepticon. But Vulcan was not finished as he drilled into Starscream the consequences of revealing themselves too early in their quest for the destruction of both sides "not to mention the entire crew of nemesis. I have no doubt that some would turn to join us out of fear of termination but the other half who are loyal to the grave will happily die trying to avenge their fallen master. They will flee to the planet when they show to be outnumbered and then join out with what resistance there will be against us."

"The…Autobots." Starscream concluded as former con was now beginning to see the complete and utter fallout of his original plan that now seen as disastrous and incomplete.

Starscream may not have been there during Unicorn's rising, but even he started to see the two rival factions banding together to vanish the greatest threat to both of them as has been proven many times in the past.

"Correct. We do not yet need prime's attention drawn on us. The whole team of Autobots will be our most dangerous threat especially with the increase of numbers to their side." One side was threatening enough with the Autobots alert to the presence but for the moment unaware of their machinations yet and Vulcan would like to keep that way, as there was only one amongst them who truly was a direct threat to their re-emergence "Prime out of any being in the galaxy is a threat to our existence. For only a prime is capable of destroying us and sending our souls back to the anti-spark."

It was always the primes who had the power to truly defeat a being of chaos.

Much like with their creator Unicron, it took the collective power and wisdom of the primes to stand against embodiment of chaos and destruction.

Optimus may be the only prime in existence but he carries all of his predecessors with him.

"Do you understand now?" Vulcan asked, making sure that the only person in their employ knew the implications of a failure to remain concealed.

"Yes…"Starscream grumbled out, accepting this slow tactful approach… for now.

Vulcan let out a small smile to show his pleased demeanour over the newest recruit's compliance but quickly assumed a stoic and hardened authoritarian expression as he asserts his position in this triarge "glad to hear it. We do things my way, and no other way. Are we clear on that!?"

Starscream stood ridge as paralysing fear made him stand as straight as a pole with his natural cowardice and years of self-preservation kicked in "Yes my lord!"

"Good… for now we play the role of the loyal servant while secretly stealing and sabotaging them from right under their noses."

Starscream never lost his posture nor his dread as he responded like solider to a superior officer "Yes my lord!"

It then that the ease for his frightful plight ended as Vulcan let loose a small smile as he encouraged the seeker to follow his will with a prize should he stay true and loyal to him "If you follow me Starscream. Then I promise upon my lord and creator unicron that you will reap the rewards of Cybertron and all of the surrounding systems."

At this Starscream snapped out of his paralysis "Cybertron!?" the home world of all transformers, dead and destroyed from the desolation of Megatron's war. All cybertronian's forced into exodus from their home world that can no longer sustain them.

Autobots and Decepticons.

Two species that were once one but now divided between beliefs and ideology that sparked the war that destroyed their own world.

Megatron in his anger over his hurt pride of being denied the title of prime unleashed a war to claim cybertrion through force.

In the end his forces succeeded and their reward was a dead world beyond repair.

The many structures and buildings that may have once littered the metal planet can still be repaired or reformed back but the planet can no longer produce the Energon needed to sustain the many constructs and networks of the planet's own mechanisms nor the populace that might one day return there.

Vulcan knew this, and he had no desire to rule over the world of his creator's mortal enemy, dead or otherwise.

Though this did not mean that he will allow it to so easily fall to forces of both Decepticon and Autobots who would rally against him the first chance they can to eliminate their personification of the devil.

No instead he will implement a ruler to keep the apostles of primus in line. A… puppet ruler to whom would he trust to act in his own best interest of self-preservation.

And Starscream… was the perfect choice.

"Yes! You will rule Cybertron as it ruler and saviour. Emperor Starscream the First! Restorer of Cybertron!" his exaggeration and presentation of the fortunes of their victory had the former seeker commander descend into his own little world of self-glory and dreams of an empire under his banner.

Seeing his words had the profound affect that he desired, Vulcan took his leave, followed by Arachnida as both chaotic titans left the room occupied by a scrawny seeker deep in his delusions.

Arachnida soon caught up with Vulcan as he walked through his ship, his hands clasped behind his back with a pleased calculated smile adorned on his metallic face. "Will you really let that walking pile of jumbled bolts and loose screws rule Cybertron?"

At this Vulcan soon stopped and turned to the one bot in this universe that he trusted completely "Of course, I am a being of my word. But while Starscream rules his little corner of the galaxy, we shall conquer all as we did before." His arm came around over her being and pulled her close into his frame, he then turned them around and it was then that Arachnida noticed that they had stopped just before a large window into space. The stars of distant burning suns greeted them within the black void of space, and Vulcan ever holding her close into him, waved his other hand out into the scene before them "You and I will rule this universe not just as king and queen. But as gods! With the fates of all living creatures and planets decided at our whim!"

Arachnida had never been so enthralled on by such claims of power and authority that were like honey woos to her anti-spark. Her entire being quiver with such delight that even her own extra appendages unconsciously twitched and shivered with anticipation as such images of the two of them sitting upon a throne made from the conquest and defeat of their fallen foes and subjugated subjects.

"You certainly know how to make girl feel special." Arachnida pressed herself against Vulcan, her head resting against the hard plated frame of his torso.

"Only for you my dear. Only for you."

Finished.

As I'm sure you've guessed, that I've taken parts and bits out of popular cult and fan favourates such as Warhammer 40,000/ 4K. not to be confused with the fantasy version.

And Ratchet and Clank Game. Ratchet Gladiator or Deadlock depending on your region.

Anyway.

Again new chapters coming.
