I had a couple of concerns from my readers that I wanted to address….
Over the last couple of chapters, a few of you have expressed concern that Christian may be going back to Elena when it's a A/C endgame/story. I assure you, my readers. Even though Christian has a pull towards Elena, Ana/Christian WILL be endgame. It won't happen right away as there needs to be drama. Please don't give up hope on our couple. They will get their HEA.
I had a guest review stating I shouldn't be writing stories (particularly this 50 shades one) if I can't finish them. I want to make something clear. While it took me a long time between updates, I did post new chapters on this story. I decided that I wanted to be ahead on this story first before posting more updates. Also, I want to tell this 'guest' that if they want to criticize my writing/ lack of updates, they need to learn how to spell. They spelt the word 'write' as 'wright'. I understand not everyone knows the correct spelling on everything because I'm not perfect either. But, please, if you (guests) are going to criticize me in any way, at least proof your reviews before sending them.
I have often had negative 'guest' reviews that have been just plain hurtful to me. They don't politely say anything negative. No, they go out of their way to say mean things. Some I have kept on the site, some I have deleted. I said this on my profile page recently and I'm going to say it here, too. Every reader has a right to their comments, yes, but us writers also have a right to delete those hurtful comments if they're 'guests'. If the 'guest' is going to be mean and not say anything except how bad of a writer I am or how bad the story is, I have the option to delete it. If you don't like that, log in/sign in/register and pm me with your concerns and we'll talk. If you don't want yourself to be known, then be prepared to be deleted in your comments. To those who have supported me through this story, thank you. I appreciate it.
I had a reviewer who asked if this story is worth reading or continuing/good enough. I'm being biased as I would like everyone to enjoy this story. In my opinion, yes, it's worth it. But I'm not the reader. In the end, it's up to you. I have lots of followers/favorites on this story, but not everyone takes the time to review. I don't write professionally for a living as I have a full-time job and can only write on the weekends unless something comes up. The only paycheck I receive for posting updates on this story (or any of my stories) is your feedback/your reviews. I'm not going to force you to leave feedback. However, I don't know if you hate/like the story unless you tell me. So, that's why I ask (and every writer on this site says this), please kindly review if you want more. My updating schedule is every 3 weeks per chapter so I don't fall behind on updates.
Sorry for the long A/N, but I wanted to answer some questions that you had/say a few things. If you have anymore, feel free to ask and I'll reply. I posted an a/n instead of a chapter awhile back so the chapter numbers may look off but I assure you this next update is correct.

Chapter 16
***Grey Enterprises***
(Christian is at his desk going through some paperwork. He was on a deadline with some of his contracts. He knew that he needed to get his ass in gear. He clears his throat and swallows, but his mouth was completely dry. He sighs deeply as he tried to focus, yet he was having difficulties doing so. As much as he tried not to, his mind kept going back to Anastasia)
(He didn't understand why she was such a nervous wreck yesterday. Yes, she was two hours late for work, but he didn't care. He knew something besides her job was eating away at her. He knew he shouldn't care or bother to wonder what's going on. However, there was something different about her. She was different than Elena. He also couldn't help but get lost in those big beautiful eyes)
(Despite his best intentions of focusing on his work, he was drawing a blank. He closes his eyes and sighs deeply as his mind wondered to yesterday. What was she so worried about? He shakes his head)
Christian: "I wish I knew. Something is definitely wrong. I-I know that I shouldn't care one way or another. There is just something about you that draws me in. You looked so sad when we first met on the sidewalk. Now, you could be in legal trouble? What the hell? I know the last thing I need is to get involved in something illegal."
(He tilts his head and looks around without moving his head. A small smile forms across his face as his elbows are on the edge of his desk. His hands are on both sides of his face. He rests one of his hands to his cheek. A bigger smile comes when he thinks of Miss Steele)
Christian: "I don't know when it happened, but…I think I care more for you than I should. I can't be in love with you as I barely know you. But…I've heard of the expression 'love at first sight'. I thought that was true about Elena. I was way off on that one. Regarding Ana, the only thing I can think of is… is she having trouble with money? I know she just finished college and is starting a new job." (sighs) "Woman are definitely a mystery."
(He couldn't help but wonder how Ana was doing on her second day on the job. He knew she was probably doing well as he hasn't heard any complaints about her…yet. His thoughts are dashed when there's a knock at his office door. He quickly shakes his head to come back to reality)
Christian: "Come in."
(Another small smile forms when the door opens and Ana comes in. This was the first time he saw her today and as usual, she looked absolutely breathtaking. Ana was wearing a V neck blue satin blouse and a matching blue satin skirt that ends just above her knees. She had dark blue three-inch heels and her hair was partly up in a bun. For makeup, she had pink colored eye shadow and blush was used followed by her red lipstick. She was also wearing small hoop earrings)
Ana: "Hello, Mr. Grey."
Christian: "How's work going, Miss Steele?"
Ana: (chuckles) "Just 'Ana', please."
Christian: (smirks) "Then it's just 'Christian' for me, please."
Ana: (shocked look) "I can't call you by your first name. You're my boss."
Christian: (laughs) "I own this company, Ana. I can have people call me whatever I want."
Ana: "Your secretary, Courtney, calls you Mr. Grey."
Christian: "True and that's what I prefer. You? I don't mind being called by my first name."
Ana: "It's unprofessional, though."
Christian: (smirks) "Do you think I give a shit?"
Ana: (playfully rolls her eyes) "Okay, true. Anyways, I wanted to give you an update on 'Grey Magazine'."
(She gives him a few forms as she speaks)
Ana: "These contracts need to be signed by you. The latest numbers by Sandra Brown are exactly where we want them. Sandra Brown's book sales hit the one million mark this morning. If you ask me, she's an author worth watching."
Christian: (nods) "Sounds good."
(He looks at the contracts and the information in it. It shows the author, how they're doing, and where the numbers should be. He was quite pleased with Ana's work so far. He signs the contracts and gives them back to her)
Christian: "Are Hannah Cooke, Desiree Flatten, and Easton Brown doing well with their work performances? I hired them to work and report to you."
Ana: (nods) "Yes, they are doing very well. They stay on task and answer any questions that I have for them. So far, I'm satisfied with how they're doing."
Christian: "Any other authors we need to watch out for?"
Ana: (nods) "Yes. James Patterson, who writes thriller books, is doing extremely well, too. He's another popular writer and his book sales are the same as Sandra Brown. I told Hannah to keep an eye on how he's doing. If all goes well, we'll be in the top 5 and that's where we should be."
(Christian leans back in his chair and smiles as he folds his arms, looking at Ana)
Christian: "You are doing extremely well so far. I'm very impressed, Miss Steele. I know you prefer being called Ana and I'll eventually remember that. For right now, you're Miss Steele. Thank you for all the efforts you are putting into your Editorial work. Even though it's only your second day, I'm completely satisfied with your job performance. Please, keep it up."
(He smiles as he couldn't help but be mesmerized by her. Everything he has expected from her regarding her job, she has done and more. He knew he made the right decision in hiring her and he couldn't be more thrilled. Some editors he's hired in the past haven't done the best despite their qualifications on their resume and in the interview. So, he put a stop to that immediately. With Ana, he knew that he wouldn't be disappointed)
(As she continues to give him extra updates on her staff and the two authors, he couldn't help but admire her body. It was toned, slender, and she wasn't too skinny to the point where he needed to be worried about her appearance. She had enough muscle on her where she looked absolutely perfect)
(The shape of her small, rounded breasts through her fitted attire caused him to grow increasingly hard in his suit pants. Her silky long legs drove him crazy. As he looked up to her lips, they were plump, bodacious, and red. He tried not to stare at her. He wanted to bite those lips and taste them, but he knew that was completely out of the questions. Holy Christ! he thought to himself. He needed to get his mind out of the gutter. He can't, absolutely CANNOT get involved with her! No matter how much she turns him on without even knowing it)
(He offers a smile when she's done talking. He thanks her for all her hard work. After telling her she's free to go, she nods while he goes back to his work. As his mind is on his paperwork, she walks away a bit before turning around. He didn't notice her standing there, so she kept observing him)
(She couldn't believe how sexy he was. His perfectly brown hair was not too short nor too long. He always looked good in his business suits. She bit her red lips and tilts her head as he looked so damn handsome. She was tempted to feel his lips on hers, but she knew it was wrong. She cursed at herself for thinking such thoughts and left his office)
***Pacific Publishing***
(Kate is having the time of her life. It may only be her second day on the job, but she honestly didn't think things could get any better. She loved her Editorial job. Her boss, Christopher Stark, is awesome and has told her a few times that he's very impressed with her work)
(She reports to Mr. Stark as scheduled and offers a smile)
Kate: "Hello, Mr. Stark. How are you?"
Mr. Stark: (chuckles) "I should be asking you that. For what it's worth, though, I have heard no complaints about your work performance. You always strive to do better. Your three interns say positive things about you. You are serious with them, but you praise them when they do well. That's what an editor does. So, please know that you're doing great. I gotta say, Miss Kavanagh, you are definitely an asset to 'Pacific Publishing'."
Kate: (smiles happily) "Thank you very much. I really appreciate your kind words. Even though I work hard, I always strive to be even better."
Mr. Stark: (nods) "And you always accomplish that. Excellent job, Miss Kavanagh."
(They shake hands and she leaves his office. She softly squeals in joy that she's doing so well)
***Later That Day***
(Elena was pacing around the house she shared with Linc. She couldn't help but think about Christian. Linc pretty much told her that Christian moved on with that new employee. Elena found that hard to believe as she didn't think Christian would move on from her that fast. Elena didn't give a shit about the 'other woman'. She vowed in that moment that her and Christian would be together again. Elena loved him and she was not ready to let him go)
(She couldn't help but wonder about the new Editor that Linc said was working for Christian. She didn't know anything about her. Elena scoffs to herself that Christian wouldn't move on that quickly to someone else. Linc made the comment that Christian was moving on. If Elena were honest with herself, she didn't know how much of Christian's heart this new woman was taking. Well, Elena would find out)
(Elena decided to pay Christian a visit to see for herself how things are going between the new Editor and her ex. She would find out once and for all)
***Jose's Art Studio***
(Jose was currently with a customer. He was interested in one of Jose's paintings, but he couldn't make up his mind if he wanted to buy it or not. The painting wasn't much. A painting rendition of a park with a rainbow forming in the sky. Jose thought it was cool and the buyer must have thought so, too)
(Jose was trying not to grow impatient with the potential buyer as they are staring at the painting. Did they want to buy it or not? Ugh! He hated this)
Jose: "You like rainbows? It's very pretty, isn't it?"
Man: (nods) "It is, yes. I'm just debating whether it would look good in my daughter's bedroom."
Jose: "Does she like rainbows?"
Man: "She does." (sighs) "I will admit this is pretty, but I saw something at another art place I liked a bit more." (polite smile) "Thank you for your help, but I think I will pass."
(When the man attempts to leave, Jose makes a last-minute attempt to convince him the painting was worth it)
Jose: "Uh, um, if you want me to paint you something different, I definitely can. It's no problem."
Man: (smiles) "Thank you, but I'll pass. Have a good day."
(Jose's eyes grow wide and his face is red from anger! How the hell was he supposed to keep his art studio afloat if he can't sell any goddamned paintings?! He'd never make any money and it was all Ana and Kate's fault! He couldn't take it any longer! Something needed to be done! He grabs his cell phone and dials a number. When the person on the other line picks up, Jose spits)
Jose: "It's me. We need it…NOW."
