My apologies on the delay of this update. My current beta is unavailable at the moment and I'm not sure if she'll be available in the future. I haven't been able to write more updates due to this. If anyone is interested in helping me out (being my beta), please PM me and we'll discuss it further. Thank you to those to reviewed/followed/favorited so far and the last chapter. I don't own 50 shades, but I do own the plot.

Title: FSOG: From Heartbreak to Happiness?

Summary: Ana and Christian both suffered heartbreak from their last relationship with other people. Christian from his first attempt at one and Ana after getting cheated on. Once they meet, it's obvious there is a spark. But the question is, can they conquer their fears of getting hurt again?

Chapter 20

(Ana looks at Christian in shock! What the hell did he just say?! Maybe she heard him wrong. She faces him wide-eyed with her mouth slightly open. She couldn't have heard him right. It sounded like he was confessing his true feelings for her. He couldn't have, though. Not only was it unprofessional as he's her boss, but she didn't know if he truly felt that way)

(She briefly shakes her head and clears her throat as she gathers her thoughts. She stutters at first, but composes herself)

Ana: "What did you mean by those comments, Chris….I-I mean, Mr. Grey?"

(He looks at her in horror and proceeds to turn away from her. Holy shit! He didn't mean for it to come out like that. He clears his throat and attempts to explain himself without telling the truth)

Christian: "My apologies, Ana. I didn't mean to say it like that. What I meant, was…" (sighs in compassion) "Don't you know that I want to help you? I can see that you're in distress and I want to help in any way that I can. If you need money, please let me know. As you know from my company and the many expensive things that I own, I'm not hurting for cash. I can certainly afford it." (nods) "Yes, you work for me. Please know that I care for all of my employees."

Ana: (odd look) "Mr. Grey, I highly doubt that you do this for all of your employees. Yes, you do care for all of your employees. You wouldn't be human if you didn't. However, I don't think you'd offer to help your other employees financially if they needed it. I haven't worked for you very long, but I have noticed this. So far, I've only noticed you willing to help me out financially."

(He can't help the chuckle from escaping his mouth at her findings)

Christian: "You seem to know me well considering you haven't worked for me very long. I feel I'm beginning to know you more, as well. Not as well as I'd like to, of course. Anyways, please know I want to help."

Ana: (sighs) "Thank you, Mr. Grey, for caring about me. I assure you, though, that I'm fine. If you will excuse me, I need to get back to work."

(After she makes her exit from his office, he sighs deeply)

Christian: "Good going, Grey. You almost blew it. Telling her your feelings when you know that you shouldn't be feeling this way. You're definitely fifty shades of fucked up."

***Outside of 'Grey Enterprises'***

(Elena stands outside the building and looks at the door. As she's about to go inside, a familiar voice stops her. She rolls her eyes in annoyance as she'd recognize that voice anywhere)

Elena: "What do you want, Taylor? Are you following me or something?"

(Taylor, who is leaning against one of Christian's many expensive vehicles, walks to her and scoffs)

Taylor: "Oh, please! Don't flatter yourself, lady. I'm here to pick up Mr. Grey. Speaking of Mr. Grey, is he expecting you?"

(Elena narrows her eyebrows and speaks in frustration)

Elena: "Why do you care?"

Taylor: "Because I know that he doesn't want to see you. Then again, you should know that by now from the way he tends to throw your lying, cheating ass out the door."

(Elena can't stop the smirk from forming as she asks her next question)

Elena: "How is that brown haired female employee that Christian hired doing, by the way?"

(Taylor folds his arms across his chest as he tilts his head)

Taylor: "Why do you care?"

Elena: (shrugs) "I'll always care about Christian. I'm also curious. You hear things or stories going around all the time."

Taylor: (warning tone) "Leave Christian alone, Elena. He's moved on."

(Elena turns her head slightly and raises her eyebrows at Taylor)

Elena: "With his new editor?"

***Hours Later***

(At Ana and Kate's apartment, Kate is doing a bit of paperwork for the next day at work. She can't help but think about the mysterious Elliot. She rests her pencil that was in her hand on the coffee table in front of her. She then puts her elbows on her thighs and fingers to her chin as she thought aloud)

Kate: "I wonder what you're doing right now? Huh. Despite our very brief first encounter, you definitely left a lasting impression. You were very good looking, if I do say so myself. I wonder if we'll meet again, the infamous Mr. Elliot? You were very charming, as well. Time will tell if we see each other again. Who knows? Maybe fate will intervene."

***Jose's Art Studio**

Jose: "Do you have the photos ready?"

Accomplice: (nods) "Yep. The photos of the murderous accident are good to go. Here are the ones I have."

(The accomplice shows Jose two pictures. One is of a bloody male body lying lifeless in what looks like the living room. The other is blood smeared on the carpet)

Accomplice: "Think this will be enough to raise a few questions by the infamous Mr. Grey?"

Jose: (laughs) "Oh, yes. I'm sure it will. He'll wonder what the hell is going on. And the note that will be attached to the photo?" (nods) "Oh, yeah. His curiosity will definitely get the best of him. No doubt about it."

Accomplice: (thinks aloud) "I wonder how the CEO will react to the package? More importantly, how he'll help Ana? We both know that he'll want to help her."

Jose: (nods) "Yep, he will." (smiles) "Everything is going according to plan."

Chapter 20 Done

I know this chapter was short. I went according to my notes. Like I stated awhile back, some chapters will be longer/shorter than others. Anyways, please review/follow/favorite and let me know your thoughts. Thank you for taking the time to review. It's appreciated.
