Back again! So excited to be able to get new chapters out. Had to get my laptop going again.
We've been getting settled in the new place, playing with the baby girl who is almost 2 years old now, preparing for the holiday season, and I've been training our new puppy. So, a very busy several months and I'm so very sorry about not updating sooner.
I also put out a new chapter for Guardians of Danger recently! So if you haven't checked it out feel free to do so and if you already like that story, well… new chapter! Woot woot!

Savannah woke slowly to the sound of her sister and Ratchet having a heated yet hushed conversation. Katrina sounded like she usually did when she was being a protective younger sister, but also when she was having to deal with their parents. And Ratchet sounded very agitated, just like when he had to keep certain mechs out of the med bay. Savannah attempted to sit up and released a whimper when it felt like millions of needles prickling her skin at once.
"I'm glad to see you awake, Savannah." Ratchet stated as he pulled back the curtain, his heavy footfalls let her know that he was to her right. "Explain to me what happened when you passed out 29 hours ago."
"We were talking to Smokescreen and Optimus started talking about Cybertron, then I felt like I had been there and experienced what was lost and passed out." Savannah sighed. "Pretty sure you already got that answer."
"I did." Ratchet's answer was curt. "Have you had any contact with Optimus' spark? Or with energon?"
Savannah froze, she had no idea what he was talking about.
"Not to my knowledge." She was confused, but she really didn't know what all she had been exposed to while in the hands of the Decepticons. "Unless the 'cons did something?"
Now it was Ratchet's turn to fall silent, he really hadn't wanted to consider that possibility.
"At any point did the Decepticons pour something on you or inject you with something that gave you a feeling of being energized and covered with static?" He was hoping that they hadn't, as the effects of energon on human beings had not been thoroughly studied. Therefore he had no idea what the long term effects would be.
"Usually after I passed out I'd wake up feeling like I had been wrapped with a wool blanket and rolled around." Savannah was gritting her teeth as she answered, she hated talking about that time period and was at that moment fighting a panic attack.
Heavy footfalls outside of the med bay followed by a deep thrumming alerted Savannah to the fact that another mech had entered the room. She felt suddenly calm as this mech walked over, all traces of her panic attack gone in an instant. She took a deep breath and turned her face toward him.
"Optimus?"
"Yes." The deep baritone calmed her even more. "How are you feeling Savannah?"
"Confused…"
"Her panic attack subsided the moment you entered the room." Ratchet stated seriously. "And after researching what wool is I've come to the determination that she had skin exposure to energon. Which would explain why your spark and her soul are connected as if the two of you were bonded."
The room fell deathly silent as Savannah attempted to process what Ratchet had just said. Her own confusion doubled and she once again became aware of a consciousness much larger than her own. With some anxiety she reached out to the larger consciousness with her own and felt surprise followed by a wave of calm.
"There it is again, the two of you are communicating again!" Ratchet half yelled. "Do you even realize that you are doing it?"
"Not until you mentioned that we have the connection, Ratchet." Optimus was calm as he focused his attention back on Ratchet, though he continued sending calming waves of energy to Savannah. "She reached out to me through this bond that we were unaware of."
"I saw that in my scans." Ratchet sounded perturbed, though also slightly relieved. "From what I can tell her molecular aging has slowed to a halt. She is not aging like a human anymore. Though I am not sure how that is going to affect her in the long run, I know that as of right now it seems that she's gained the same longevity as a Cybertronian."
"How?" Savannah suddenly turned to her face back to Ratchet, giving her his full attention. "How is that possible?"
"Your feelings for each other. The closeness in proximity. And the fact that when you came into skin contact with Energon it raised the energy levels of what you call a soul, which is what we call a spark." Ratchet explained matter of factly. Knowing that Savannah despised when things were sugar coated. "With these three factors your soul and Optimus' spark bonded, which is why he can calm you down and why you can sense when he's overworked and in need of a break. Also, you can communicate between yourselves silently, though I'm not sure to what extent."
"Feelings, emotions, that's about it." Savannah stated. "It's not like we can talk to each other telepathically."
"Have you tried?" Ratchet asked curtly.
"No." Savannah turned to where she knew her sister was observing the conversation. "What do you make of this?"
"I think it's neat. Prowl thinks it's a good thing for Optimus, and Jazz thinks it's hilarious." Katrina piped up. "That's all who knows so far, by the way."
"So this is top secret information as of now?" Savannah's relief was obvious.
"Unless you and Optimus want to tell the base, it is." Katrina had a grin in her voice.
"I believe that we need to keep this information to ourselves for now." Optimus' deep rumble was comforting as he stated his opinion. "If it was to reach the Decepticons they would attempt to use it against us, putting you in further danger than you already are."
"So we keep this under wraps until its impossible to do so." Savannah attempted to stand but stopped when Ratchet let out a threatening rumble.
"I'm not done running scans to see what other things the direct contact with energon may have done to your body. Prime, stay here while I do that. I need to run scans to determine how your presence affects her, and how the interactions between the two of you through the bond take place."
Katrina chose that moment to vacate the med bay, saying something about how she wanted to skin someone alive. Prompting Savannah to assume that she had gotten a communication through her comm. link. She suddenly felt as if the two mechs were hiding something from her. So she shot Optimus a feeling of confusion and curiosity.
"We wanted to keep the information from you until we were sure that you were stable, my crystal." Optimus sounded apologetic. "Your parents arrived and refused to leave until they were allowed on base to speak to you and your sister."
"I'm not talking to them." Savannah stated curtly and with determination.
"Katrina is trying to get them to leave. They have still not been allowed on base." Optimus stated soothingly as he sent more calming waves through the newly discovered bond.
"Thank you." Savannah sat back and let out a yawn.
"Sleep, my Crystal." Optimus activated his holoform and sat beside her. "You are safe."
Crystal didn't hear anything else as she slipped into a blissful slumber.

Well, there's what happened.
Once again, Savannah will never see again, not even via images that Optimus sends her. Their bond will only allow them to send emotions and words. Though its going to take a lot of practice for Savannah to 'talk' to him. Also, it will slow her aging rate. Her longevity is officially tied to Optimus'.
Hope you guys enjoyed.
Until all are one,
