A/N: Hello everyone! At long last, the story is finished! My apologies on the delay. Between work and RL, it took forever to complete. To help you out so you don't have to reread the last 22 chapters (unless you prefer it), a recap is below. I have a weird work schedule, so my updating schedule will be on the weekends (Saturday/Sunday). If, by chance, I have a day off during the week, I'll surprise you with an update then. If anything changes with the updating schedule, I'll let you know. I love hearing your thoughts, so please review. I don't own FSOG, but I do own the plot.

Chapter 1-22:

Ana was heartbroken that Jose cheated because she wouldn't sleep with him. He said it wouldn't happen again, but she didn't believe him. He warned her she wouldn't find anyone better than him. That same day, she met a stranger named Christian and both left each other realizing the connection was immediate. Christian wanted Taylor to find her, but it was a lost cause. Courtney (Christian's secretary) playfully gave Christian grief that he didn't have a care in the world but when he found 'the one' his attitude would change. Jose vowed revenge against Kate/Ana for supposedly spreading lies about him because he hasn't made any income and no one wants his business. Jose has a mystery accomplice who has been blackmailing Kate/Ana for weeks. Jose/accomplice want money which Kate/Ana don't have. Kate/Ana have a secret from their past that they thought was hidden. Jose and the now revealed accomplice, Jack Hyde, discuss their plan. Jack disguised himself to deliver a package to Christian. Christian opened it and wondered what the hell is going on. Elliot is in this story and will be paired with Kate. In a previous chapter, they bumped into each other and she spilt her coffee on his shirt. He was understanding about it. In Chapter 22, Christian admitted that he loved Ana after he got frustrated and emotional.

Title: FSOG: From Heartbreak to Happiness?

Summary: Ana and Christian both suffered heartbreak from their last relationship with other people. Christian from his first attempt at one and Ana after getting cheated on. Once they meet, it's obvious there is a spark. But the question is, can they conquer their fears of getting hurt again?

Chapter 23

Ana: "Wh-what did you just say?"

Christian: (flustered) "I-I got carried away...I care for you Ana. I want what is best for you and I care about your well-being. If someone is causing trouble for you, I want to help."

Ana: "But you're my boss, this isn't your responsibility."

Christian: "You're more than just my employee, Ana. I'd like to think we are becoming friends and I help my friends. If you are in trouble, I am going to help."

(Ana cries softly as she listened to Christian's desperate pleas. No man has ever offered to help her like this before. Her step-father, Ray, knows nothing about the trouble she is in. Then again, she hasn't spoken to him in the longest time. There is no bad blood between them. They just seem to have their own lives. As for her mom, Carla, they talk now and then. Again, it's been awhile since they've spoken, too)

(Ana has had many friends over the years. No one or no man has wanted to help her when things got tough. Not Jose or anyone else. Her steady friend, Kate, has been her only constant person)

(Ana shakes her head as she tried to contain her emotions. She looks down and sniffles as she speaks)

Ana: "I admit that I want your help, Christian. You have no idea how badly I wish I had your help. But, it's not fair of me to do so."

(While sitting next to her, he rests his hands over hers and speaks in a gentle tone)

Christian: Ana, while I appreciate your caring nature and everything else about you, it should be my decision if I want to help you, not yours." (shakes his head) "I don't give a shit that you work for me. We are friends and friends help each other out."

(Ana raises her eyebrows and speaks in a serious tone)

Ana: "Christian, with all due respect…my past isn't pretty. It's really bad. In fact, you could be in legal trouble if I told you everything. Are you prepared for that? Because I could never forgive myself if you got hurt because of me."

Christian: (sighs softly) "Ana, that's what my lawyers are for. They're the best at what they do. When important legal stuff comes up that requires their assistance, they handle it no problem. Have I ever had any serious matters that required them to work overtime?" (nods) "Yes. But again, that's why they're paid the big bucks." (chuckles) "They're not cheap, which is how I like it. It shows that they do their work and get the job done." (smiles) "So, please, don't worry about me."

Ana: (nods) "Okay, tell me this, then. Can your expensive lawyers guarantee your freedom once you're involved in my mess?" (sighs) "Christian, I would never look at myself the same way or forgive myself if you got in serious trouble because of me."

(He rests his right hand on her left cheek. He caresses her cheek with his thumb, causing her to close her eyes and feel the sensations. She has never felt this close to the man that she has come to adore before. His gentle hand on her creamy skin felt so damn good)

(She could truly feel his gentle touches for hours, if it were possible. She leans her head a bit to the side to feel his soft hand against her more. She sighs and couldn't stop the low moan from escaping her mouth)

(Christian saw this and was completely overcome with desire for her. He so damn badly wanted to lean forward and kiss her. To feel his lips against hers. To feel his bubblegum tongue against hers. He would've given anything in that moment, paid any amount of money to press his lips against hers)

(Oh, damn! Oh, fuck! He needed to stop these thoughts! He has never wanted another woman the way that he wanted Anastasia Steele! Every time he saw her, just one look at her and it caused him to grow hard in his suit pants)

(It's funny because when he was with Elena, she NEVER made him grow hard or weak in the knees like Anastasia did. Yes, he was vulnerable to Elena, but he never grew hard when he saw her or fucked her. Nope, one look at the object of his affection and he was a sucker. He's had many fantasies about Ana. But sadly, none of them would probably come to life)

(He momentarily shook his head to get back to reality, He tilts his head and continued to smile at Ana as he spoke)

Christian: "I would do anything for you, Ana. Anything at all."

(She opens her eyes and readjusts her head as she continues to stare at him in shock at what he just said. That causes him to swallow and chuckle)

Christian: "What can I say, Ana? You bring out the best in me."

(Ana makes a bold move that shocks even her. She doesn't realize she says it until the words escape from her lips)

Ana: "I care about you, Christian. You bring out the best in me, too." (exhales sharply) "More than I probably should."

(Ana clears her throat and shakes her head)

Ana: "That's a big reason why you don't deserve my drama."

Christian: (nods) "I care for you, too, Ana." (to himself) "More than I should."

(He stares deeply into her eyes as he spoke from the heart)

Christian: "I'm not going anywhere, so please trust me, Ana."

Ana: (sighs deeply) "You're going to regret saying that after I tell you everything."

Christian: "Please, let me be the judge of that."

(Ana sighs in defeat as she shakes her head)

Ana: "It's a long story, Christian."

(He smiles sweetly at her before speaking)

Christian: "I have all the time in the world, Anastasia. Please, tell me."

(Ana nods as she looks at him and is about to tell her story)

***The Java Café***

(Kate had a good day at work. When it was over for the day, she was craving her usual coffee. Aside from work being great, she was down in the dumps in her personal life. Not only was Jose up in her face, but she hasn't seen Elliot in days. She was beginning to wonder when she would see him again. He was so sweet to her)

(Instead of getting her coffee to go as she usually did, Kate decided to relax at a table and enjoy her hot coffee. Without a care in the world, she's in dreamland until she heard her name being called. She shakes her head quickly and offers a smile)

Kate: "I'm sorry. What?"

Guy: (laughs) "I said 'Is that you, Kate?'"

(When she comes back to reality, she immediately recognizes the man before her)

Kate: (gasps) "Elliot? Is-Is that really you?!"

Elliot: (chuckles) "The one and only."

(She sets down her coffee and gets up from her chair. She rushes into Elliot's waiting arms. After embracing for a few moments, they break apart and smile at the other)

Elliot: "This time you didn't spill your coffee all over me."

Kate: (giggles) "Very true. How are things going with you?"

Elliot: "I'm done with college for the semester. I go back in the fall."

Kate: "Aw. What's your major?"

Elliot: "Law."

Kate: "Ooh, not bad."

Elliot: (nods) "Yeah, I've always liked helping others. I've see some people go to jail when they don't deserve it. Or they deserve it but are found innocent. So, I'm hoping someday to change that."

Kate: (nods & smiles) "Well, I'm impressed. Not to mention, happy for you."

Elliot: "So, what do you do?"

Kate: "I went to college to become an editor. I just started my job a few weeks ago." (smiles proudly) "So far, I love it."

Elliot: (grins) "I'm happy for you, too, Kate."

Kate: (chuckles) "Thank you. I gotta say, I was hoping I'd run into you again."

Elliot: "Same here. You definitely piqued my interest when we briefly met. I was hoping I'd see you, too. It appears that we both got our wish." (hopeful smile) "Is it too soon to ask for your number?"

Kate: (giggles) "Not at all. I was hoping you'd ask."

(Kate takes out her cell phone and puts Elliot's name in her list of contacts before asking for his number, which he gives. He then does the same thing she just did. After both numbers are secured in their phones, they face each other again)

Kate: "I don't know if I said it yet, but my last name is Kavanagh."

Elliot: (smiles) "Mine is Grey."

Kate: (surprised) "Oh. Are you, by chance, relate to Christian Grey?"

Elliot: (nods) "Yep, he's my older brother. Do you know him?"

Kate: "Yes, I've heard of him as my friend works for him at his company."

Elliot: (nods) "Huh. Small world."

Kate: "Indeed." (changes the subject) "I don't know about you, but I'm excited to know you better."

Elliot: (chuckles) "I feel the same way. You're the first woman in a long time that I've wanted to know more of."

(Kate nods and smiles as she moves her body a bit)

Kate: "I will definitely take that as a compliment. I have met many guys before, but you? No one's held my interest like you have."

(He raises his eyebrows as he turns his head a bit)

Elliot: "Ooh, I like that. You're definitely my kind of woman, Kavanagh."

Kate: "Ha-ha. You know it, Grey." (tilts her head) "What kind of music do you like? What kind of movies?"

Elliot: "I enjoy Pop music with a bit of country and rock. I'm a horror film guy who loves to watch romantic movies with my girl." (smirks) "If the right woman came along…" (referring to Kate) "…I'd love doing romantic things for her."

(Kate couldn't help the blush from forming! Could this guy be any more of a sweetheart? She was loving it)

Kate: "I hope I'm definitely that kind of woman."

Elliot: (smiles confidently) "You are indeed."

Kate: "I love pop music and prefer the older country music like the 80's, 90's and the early 2000. I think Aerosmith and Rolling Stones are Rock and I enjoy them. I have to admit that I like horror films and when it's a scary scene, I look to my guy for comfort. I absolutely love romantic comedies and when my man does sweet things for me…I do it as well in return."

(They smile happily at each other to find that they have so much in common. They agree to hang out in the next day or two and he'll call or text her)

***Elena and Linc's House***

Elena: "So, are you going to draw up the divorce papers or do I need to?"

Linc: (raises his eyebrows) "So you can break up Christian and his new girlfriend?"

Elena: (chuckles dryly) "I don't need to break up the new couple because they're not dating."

(Linc turns his head a bit and raises one eyebrow)

Linc: "How can you be so sure?"

(Elena laughs in response at her soon-to-be-ex)

Elena: "You DO know that I have more of a hold over Christian then you're aware of, right? Trust me, I can have him back at any time. He still loves me and he always will, even if he won't admit it."

***Jose's Art Studio***

(Jack comes into the art studio and sees a customer buying a piece of Jose's artwork. After Jose finishes the purchase, he notices Jack and walks to him)

Jack: "You finally sold something, huh?"

Jose: (rolls his eyes) "Yeah, finally. It will cover the next two months' rent, but I need more income."

(nods) "So, how'd it go with delivering the package to Grey?"

Jack: (laughs) "The fucker didn't really even notice me as he was too busy working. I'm sure he's

wondering what the hell is going on."

Jose: "He's probably got that bodyguard on it, too. I can't wait to see what he does."

Jack: "Will he give Ana money or will he want to help her?"

Jose: "With how much he wants her, I'm sure he will want to help her. If he's smart enough, hopefully he'll

give her money."

Jack: (nods) "We will see."
