Title: FSOG: From Heartbreak to Happiness?

Summary: Ana and Christian both suffered heartbreak from their last relationship with other people. Christian from his first attempt at one and Ana after getting cheated on. Once they meet, it's obvious there is a spark. But the question is, can they conquer their fears of getting hurt again?

Chapter 28

***Later That Day***

(Elena had been determined to meet with a lawyer for a few days now. Well, after talking to Christian and vowing they would be together after her divorce was final, she finally set up a meeting. She spoke to a divorce lawyer named Rhian Flynn and set up a time with her. Miss Flynn had a decent size building located on the main floor next to the Java Café)

(After knocking on the door, Elena hears a 'come in'. After Elena enters, the female lawyer gets up from her seat and greets her possible client)

Lawyer: "Hello, I'm Rhian Flynn. You can call me Miss Flynn."

Elena: (smiles) "Hello, to you, as well. I'm Elena Robinson. We briefly spoke on the phone earlier, remember?"

Miss Flynn: "Yes, I remember."

(They shake hands before Miss Flynn speaks)

Miss Flynn: "Please, have a seat. Tell me about yourself."

(After both ladies take a seat, Elena speaks)

Elena: "My name is Elena Robinson. I've been married for about 10 years. For the past couple of years, I've been having an affair as I've been in a loveless marriage. I'm married to Lincoln, but I call him Linc. I haven't been in love with him for a long time. I met Christian Grey a few years ago and immediately fell for him." (shrugs) "Was it wrong to be involved with someone while married? Yes. That's my fault. Christian loves me, too, but he hates the fact that I'm still legally married. So, he broke things off with me. I don't love my husband anymore and want a divorce from him as soon as possible."

Miss Flynn: "First of all, you can only get a divorce from Linc if he grants you one. He can be an asshole and drag it out to make your life miserable…especially being you're an adulteress." (chuckles) "You're not the first person who's had an affair and I'm sure you won't be the last, either. Has Linc stated whether he'd contest the divorce or not?"

Elena: "No, he did not. To be honest, I wouldn't put it past him to try fighting it. He doesn't think that Christian and I will be together after the divorce as Christian possibly found someone new. I'm not holding my breath on this new girl, though."

Miss Flynn: (curiously) "Interesting. Why do you say that?"

Elena: "She works for him and he's vowed not to get involved with someone in the work force." (shrugs) "Even if he tried to, I'd put a stop to it."

Miss Flynn: (smirks) "You must really want Christian for yourself."

Elena: (nods) "Oh, I do. Once I'm officially divorced from my idiot of a husband, it's only a matter of time before I get Christian back."

Miss Flynn: (nods) "You certainly know what you want."

Elena: (smiles confidently) "You bet your ass I do."

Miss Flynn: "Now, tell me, Mrs. Robinson…."

Elena: "Feel free to call me Elena."

Miss Flynn: (nods) "Okay, Elena…first things first. What do you want out of the divorce? Meaning, do you want alimony? Do you want a settlement?"

Elena: (shakes her head) "Nope. No money. He has his own and I have my own. I don't want anything out of the divorce except to be legally done with him…for good. Just let me know what I need to do to make it happen."

Miss Flynn: "Well, being you don't want anything out of the marriage, it should be smooth sailing. That is unless…Linc wants to play dirty and not let you go be with the man whose heart you really desire."

Elena: "He likes to taunt me that I'll be alone, but I'm not worried. Just tell me what I need to give you to make this divorce happen."

Miss Flynn: "Okay, this is what you'll need…"

***Christian's Condo***

(Christian and Taylor take Ana and Kate to Christian's place so they could get the ball rolling. Ana and Kate were still a bit nervous on everything. However, both men assure the ladies that they'd take care of everything. Christian and Taylor go into Christian's office on the second floor to begin looking into Jose and Jack's past. Christian tells Ana and Kate to make themselves at home. He also tells them his housekeeper, Gail Jones, is there if they need anything)

(While Christian searches for information on his computer, Taylor makes some phone calls. The office was big enough so both men had room to do their own thing. They were both determined to end this shit of a mess)

(Kate and Ana walk around the main floor, very impressed with what they see. Ana sees the piano and wondered if Christian played or if he's any good. She figured he was. Kate looked at the window in the living room and enjoyed the view. Ana soon joined her friend at the window)

Ana: "Amazing, isn't it?"

Kate: "It is. It's definitely a great view."

(A woman's voice catches them off-guard)

Woman: "When I have a few minutes of free time, I like to admire the view, too."

Ana: (gasps) "Holy shit!"

Kate: (wide-eyed) "Fuck!"

(Ana and Kate cover their mouths before placing their hands on their chests in panic)

Woman: (chuckles) "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to frighten you girls."

Ana: (clears her throat) "Wow, you really know how to scare a person."

Kate: (chuckles nervously) "You must be Mrs. Jones. Christian said you'd be around."

Mrs. Jones: "Yes, I'm Mrs. Jones. Are you two thirsty or hungry? I can make you something to eat if you want."

Kate: (shakes her head & smiles) "No, thank you, ma'am."

Mrs. Jones: (graciously) "Please, call me Mrs. Jones. What are your names, if I may ask?"

Kate: "I'm Kate Kavanagh. Technically, my name is Katherine, but everyone calls me Kate and I prefer that."

Mrs. Jones: (nods) "No problem, Kate. Nice to meet you."

Kate: "Likewise."

Ana: "I'm Anastasia Steele, but I prefer Ana."

Mrs. Jones: (smiles) "Nice to meet you, Ana."

(Gail couldn't help the curiousness in her face that she's finally meeting the infamous Miss Steele. Christian has spoken about Ana many times, but not always saying her name. Gail has heard Christian talking to himself a lot, too. Whether it'd be in his office when his door is sometimes open or in open rooms. The way Gail understood it, Christian wished he didn't have feelings for Ana, but it was simply out of his control. Gail hoped that someday, he and Ana would find their way to each other. Gail couldn't stand Elena and wondered if Elena knew about Ana. She guessed Elena did, but wasn't sure)

(Gail wanted to know more about Ana, so she started chatting with the two ladies)

Mrs. Jones: "How do you two know Mr. Grey?"

Kate: "I just met him today, but I've heard about him from Ana."

Ana: "I work for Christian. I'm his Editor for 'Grey Magazine'. I just started about a month ago." (chuckles) "I must be doing something right as he hasn't fired me yet."

Mrs. Jones: (chuckles softly) "I'm sure you're doing just fine, Ana. You two look like very intelligent young women."

Ana: "Have you worked for Christian long?"

Mrs. Jones: "About five years. He's treated me well and Taylor, too."

Ana: "Taylor seems nice. I've never had any issues with him. Then again, I just met him."

Mrs. Jones: (nods & smiles) "Taylor's very nice."

(They hear a set of footsteps coming down the steps, revealing Taylor. He approaches Kate and Ana with a hint of seriousness in his voice)

Taylor: "Mr. Grey and I wanted to know if you knew anything more on Jose or Jack Hyde? We've uncovered a few things, but we're hoping you can help us out more."

(Ana and Kate momentarily face each other before turning their attention back to Taylor. Taylor looks down slightly and speaks seriously)

Taylor: "Remember, it doesn't matter if you feel the details are too small as it could mean a lot in the end."

Ana: "I don't know if it means anything, but…Jose has always been low on funds as his art doesn't always sell. He is a good artist. But, in all honesty, I've seen better pieces from artists. I guess you have to pick and choose your battles. I felt bad for him that he didn't sell a lot of his paintings. In the end, I guess they weren't good enough."

Taylor: (nods) "Thanks for the info. I appreciate it." (to Kate) "How about Hyde?"

(Kate snorts as she raises her eyebrows at Taylor)

Kate: "Are you ready for this? He's not the most popular detective at the Seattle Police Department. In fact, he's not real liked."

Taylor: (mysterious face) "Why do you say that, Miss Kavanagh?"

Kate: "Kate, please."

Taylor: (nods) "As you wish, Kate. Please, keep going."

Kate: (clears her throat) "He has a reputation of going after younger women. He's always denied it, of course, but when more and more women came forward…"

Taylor: "It doesn't paint Hyde in the best light. Thanks. I'm going to update Mr. Grey. Be back later."

(Taylor turns around and rushes back upstairs. He goes into Christian's office, where their eyes make contact)

Christian: "Anymore news to add?"

Taylor: "According to Miss Steele, Jose is a struggling artist who is low on funds. Miss Steele didn't want to hurt his feelings, but his paintings aren't the best."

Christian: "Huh. So, he is definitely looking for a big payday. And Jack Hyde?"

Taylor: "His reputation as a detective is tarnished because of following underage girls. He's never learned his lesson after Kate."

Christian: "Looks like we learned new tidbits about our men. I found a few things while on the computer. However, I feel like I'm about to discover some interesting facts after we look into the police database."

Taylor: (smirks) "Want me to do the honors?"

Christian: (laughs) "That's why I'm glad I hired you a long time ago. You know where to look as you've done it more times then I can count. You're definitely better at going into the police files than I am."

Taylor: (shrugs) "I'm used to it. Been doing it for years and I know what to look for…especially if I know who the person is. No one is perfect, so, of course, there are times when I'm not always successful in the digging process."

Christian: "I think you do just fine, Taylor" (confident face) "Are we ready, Jason?"

Taylor: "You bet, Grey."

(After what felt like hours and probably was actually hours after, Christian and Taylor found what they believed to be very incriminating evidence. After smiling in satisfaction, they knew they got a home run)

Christian: "We got 'em, Taylor."

Taylor: "Damn right. They won't know what hit 'em. Are we going to tell the women?"

Christian: (nods) "Yes. Bring them up to my office and we'll tell them what we've uncovered."

(Taylor leaves the office to meet with Kate and Ana. After going down the steps, he sees Kate and Ana with Mrs. Jones in the living room)

Taylor: "Sorry to interrupt. Kate and Ana, Mr. Grey and I would like you upstairs in his office. We found information that we want to share with you."

Ana: (nods) "Okay. Just lead the way to Christian's office." (smiles at Gail) "Nice talking to you. Thank you for being so nice."

Mrs. Jones: (chuckles) "You're such a sweetheart. Hope everything gets worked out."

(Kate and Ana follow Taylor upstairs as Mrs. Jones goes back to work. After arriving in the office, Taylor shuts the door behind him. Taylor bring two chairs for Ana and Kate to sit in that's across from Christian's. After everyone is seated, Ana speaks)

Ana; (to Christian) "Taylor said you two found leverage against Jose and Jack?"

Christian: (nods) "Yes." (chuckles a bit) "Jack has quite a checkered past, to say the least. Jose, not so much. Yes, his artwork has suffered and he's not rich. However, his only real fault is threatening you two."

Kate: (raises her eyebrows) "Ooh, Jack's past is that good, huh? This I got to hear."

Christian: "Beware. It's a long story of the past."

Kate: (smirks) "Can't wait to hear it. Go on, Grey."

Christian: (to Ana) "Your friend is quite sassy."

Ana: (chuckles) "Trust me. I'm well aware."

Christian: "Okay, for starters…when Jack was in his teens, he got involved in drugs. Jack reported to a guy named Bob Adams. Of course, Jack didn't mind doing this at all as he made a lot of money in the process. However, when things turned illegal, Jack wanted out. Jack wanted no part of Bob's illegal dealings, but Bob said no as he was making a killing. Bob didn't give a fuck as he was making a shitload of money. Bob wanted Jack to continue his dirty dealings. Here is where it gets interesting."

(Ana and Kate look at each other and raises their eyebrows before facing Christian again as Taylor can't help but chuckle)

Taylor: "You're going to love this, you guys." (referring to Kate and Ana)

Christian: "In the end, what Bob didn't realize is that before Jack disappeared, Jack stole money…twenty million to be exact…and Bob was really pissed off."

Kate: (snorts) "I'd be pissed off, too, if someone stole that much from me."

Christian: "When Bob realized all of this…that Jack stole that much…it was too late as Jack changed his name so he could escape. You see, Jack knew that he was on the chopping block with Adams. Get this, as well. Jack Hyde's not his real name."

Ana: (surprised) "Oh? What's his real name?"

Christian: "Jack's real name is Michael Page." (scoffs) "Jack or Michael or whoever you want to call him spent the money quickly. He knew if he was ever found out, he'd be dead."

Ana: (snorts) "He's right. He would be! Bob Adams wants his money back. I'm curious how Jack's been able to avoid Adams all this time."

Taylor: (nods) "If he wants his name out of the legal system, he'll do everything possible to make it happen."

Christian: "As for Jose, he's always been low on money, like you and Kate said. No matter what, he could never make a quick buck. His paintings didn't sell very well and that's what he relied on to make money."

(Ana and Kate couldn't believe their ears on Jack's past! Wow! They pictured a lot of things about Jack's past, but this? They couldn't believe this)

Kate: (shakes her head) "To say we're shocked on Hyde's past is an understatement. I can't believe he did all of that."

Ana: "I'm sure that Bob Adams is seething because he can't find Hyde…or Michael as that's his real name." (chuckles) "I admit I can't wait to see what happens when Jack comes face to face with his past."

(Kate and Ana sigh as they think out loud)

Ana: "I wonder how we can get the two men out of our lives for good?"

Kate: "Yeah, you have this damning evidence against Hyde. As for Jose, I'm sure he's just looking to

cash in where he can."

Taylor: "We want you to set up a meeting with Jose and Jack for the next day."

Christian: "We'll be there to confront the assholes with our findings. We promise you both that you won't be alone during your meeting."

Taylor: "By the time the meeting is done, the jackasses will have their tails between their legs wondering how the hell to get out of this jam."

Christian: "They won't have a choice but to back out…unless they want jail time."

(Christian smirks as he nods in excitement while the girls smile)

Christian: "You don't mess with Christian Grey and get away with it."
