31. Chapter 31

A/N: For those of you that only reads FSOG stories, you can disregard this A/N. For those of you that reads all my stories from the top 3 genres (General Hospital, Scandal, and Hollywood Heights), I will be having 1 poll on my profile page for the next couple of weeks that I would like you to participate in. I am in the process of finishing a few stories that's on my profile page (it will take a long time though). I have had requests for awhile to continue certain stories, but between real life/work, I only have so much free time. On top of that, I have medical concerns right now. So, that's where the poll comes in (I'm not sure if I'm allowed 2 polls). This A/N will also be on my other story I'm currently posting (my GH story "Miracles from Heaven"). You can either participate in the poll or answer in the review section. Chapter 30

***The Next Day***

(Linc didn't need a lawyer as he decided to honor Elena's request for a divorce. He didn't want to divorce her as he did genuinely love her. But, she was right. Their divorce had been a long time coming. Linc and Elena meet at her lawyer's office for the meeting. Miss Rhian Flynn wanted to make sure that Linc didn't want or need a lawyer. He said no as he is representing himself)

(As the meeting starts, Miss Flynn asked Linc what he wants out of the divorce and he states he wants nothing. Miss Flynn asks Elena what she wants out of the divorce. She also states nothing and that she just wants out of the marriage)

Linc: (mumbles) "Yeah, so she can have Christian even though he's taken."

(Miss Flynn faces Linc in confusion and speaks)

Miss Flynn: "I'm sorry, Linc, what'd you say?"

Linc: (shakes his head) "Nothing that matters."

Miss Flynn: (nods) "Very well."

(Miss Flynn gets her briefcase, opens it, and takes out two files. She closes her briefcase and rests it next to her feet. She then gives one file to Elena and the other to Linc)

Miss Flynn: "Per your wishes, neither of you want anything out of this marriage. Unless anything has changed since the last time we talked, Elena, everything should be in order. You are each free to sign them."

(Rhian gives them both a pen and they take it before signing on the dotted lines. Afterwards, they set the pen down on the table next to the signed forms. As Rhian puts everything in her briefcase, she speaks)

Miss Flynn: "I will contact both of you when the divorce is final. Unless there's anything else to discuss, this ends our session."

Elena: (shakes Rhian's hand) "Thank you. I appreciate it."

Miss Flynn: (smiles) "No problem. You both have a good day."

(Elena and Linc get up from their seats, gather their belongings and walk out of the building. Elena faces her soon-to-be-ex-husband politely. Just as she's about to walk away, Linc sneers)

Linc: "Even though we'll be divorced soon, you'll NEVER have Christian. He doesn't want you. When are you going to realize that?"

Elena: (chuckles) "You don't know me very well, do you, Linc? You'd think after years of marriage, you would. In the end, I always get what I want."

(She walks away while he shakes his head in disappointment. While it would serve her right to crash and burn where Christian's concerned, Linc also had a heart. He didn't want to see her get hurt. Time would soon tell)

***Christian's Penthouse***

(Christian, Ana, Kate, and Taylor go over the plan one more time. After all four agree it should go well, they get ready. The ladies brought the proper attire to change into for the exchange with Jack and Jose. Kate and Ana are both wearing blue jeans, a regular gray t-shirt, and black hooded sweatshirts. They have their hair up in a ponytail and dark brown tennis shoes on)

(Both Ana and Kate sigh deeply as they knew this was it. Everything that they've been getting ready for and preparing for…it was happening tonight. They nod at each other as they were hoping everything went according to plan)

(Christian goes to them and politely smiles. Kate gets the impression that he wanted to talk to Ana alone, so she kindly gives them some time alone. Ana and Christian face each other and she smiles briefly. He tilts his head and sighs at the woman he's come to love with all of his heart)

Christian: "Are you okay?"

(She sighs nervously and attempts to be brave)

Ana: "I just hope that it'll be over soon."

(He rests his hands on her shoulders and nods reassuringly)

Christian: "It will. Don't worry." (lowers his head a bit) "Do you trust me, Anastasia?"

Ana: (nods) "With my life. I've come to know you quite well. To the people at work, you may be ruthless and a heartless businessman. But, to me, you're one of the kindest, gentlest souls. You go out of your way to help those you care about."

Christian: (shakes his head) "You're no exception, Anastasia. I've come to know you, as well. Not only as an exceptionally talented editor at my company. I also know you are kind, beautiful, and are always willing to help others. That's one of the many things I lo...I-I mean… (chuckles nervously) "Admire about you."

Ana: (smirks) "Why, Christian Grey, are you getting soft and mushy on me?"

Christian: (smiles confidently) "Damn straight I am, Steele." (clears his throat) "But, on a more serious note, you'll do fine tonight. Believe in yourself like I do."

Ana: (smiles) "With you by my side, Grey, how can I not?"

Christian: "Are you ready? I'm sure Kate and Taylor are waiting for us."

Ana: (sighs deeply) "As ready as I'll ever be."

Christian: "I won't let you fail. I'm right behind you."

(He offers her his hand, which she takes, and they begin their nightly project)

***A Bit Later***

(Jose and Jack are at Jose's studio. They walk around a bit as they compare notes on the upcoming meeting with Ana and Kate)

Jose: "I wonder if they will try pulling a fast one on us?"

Jack: (scoffs) "They should know if they try anything, they'll pay with their lives."

Jose: "Something that I've been wondering. Is your reputation still tarnished at the Seattle PD?"

Jack: (snarls angrily) "Because of that fucking bitch Kate, it will forever be. If she gets hurt tonight at all, I won't be sorry in the slightest."

****6pm***

(Jose and Jack are currently in the park waiting for Kate and Ana to arrive. Just when they start to get impatient, Kate and Ana show up with a black briefcase in their hands. Once the men and women are face to face with each other, Jose speaks)

Jose: "We were beginning to wonder if you'd show up. Is the money in there?"

(Kate and Ana quickly glance at each other before they shrug their shoulders)

Kate: "Maybe."

Ana: "We don't appreciate being blackmailed."

Jack: (spits) "If you bitches hadn't ruined my life, we wouldn't be in this position."

Kate: (scoffs incredulously) "Do I need to remind you that you're a big boy, Jack? You need to grow the

hell up and own up to the choices that you made in life."

Jack: (rolls his eyes) "Let's just get this over with, okay?" (angrily) "Give us the briefcase…now."

(Kate gently puts the briefcase on the ground and nudges it a bit so it's between her and the idiots in front of her. Jose walks to get it. Ana and Kate can't help but look at each other nervously. They tried their best to remain calm. Jose opens it and Jack looks at the money. At first, he smiles in satisfaction as the money looked real…until he looks further)

Jack: "What the hell?"

Kate: (tilts her head) "What's wrong, Jack?"

Jack: (pissed off) "What kind of game are you two playing?"

Ana: (innocently) "What do you mean?"

(Jose looks at the money inside as he's confused)

Jack: (raises his voce) "There's no money in here!"

Kate: (shrugs) "Oh, there is money in there. Just not the amount you wanted. Some of it's real, but the rest is fake." (raises her eyebrows) "I'm surprised you figured it out, considering how much of an idiot you are about life."

(Jack roughly closes the briefcase and yells)

Jack: "Give us the money! NOW!"

Jose: (warning tone) "Or else!"

Ana: (laughs incredulously) "Oh, come on, you fucking idiots! Did you two really think that you could fool us?!"

Kate: "We may have not always been the smartest when it comes to you two, but we know this much."

Ana: "You know damn well that if we paid you off, you'd go through the money like crazy and just ask for another handout."

Kate: "We're not dumb when it comes to that."

Jack: (raises his eyebrows) "Oh, yeah? What if Jose and I expose your little secret to the world? I'll bet that you wouldn't like that too much."

Kate: (smirks) "Go ahead. Then Ana and I will have no problem exposing Jack's secret, as well. It goes both ways."

(Jack looks at the two of them in confusion)

Jack: "What the hell are you talking about?"

(Kate and Ana smirk at each other before Kate folds her arms over her chest and speaks)

Kate: "Didn't you steal twenty million dollars from Bob Adams when you were a teen after being in the illegal drug ring for years? You got out when the dangers were too big and you changed your name?"

(Jack looks at Kate in horror! What the fuck?! How the hell did she know this?! He needed answers)

Jack: "How do you know all of this as no one knows?"

Kate: (tilts her head) "It's amazing what a little research can do."

Jack: (snarls) "NO ONE knows my secret, Kavanagh. I will ask you again, bitch. How do you know about it?"

(Jose glances between the girls and Jack before speaking)

Jose: "I-I don't get it." (to Kate) "How did you find out something so private? I research things and even I didn't know this."

(Ana and Kate face each other and smile in satisfaction that they are finally one step ahead of the dangerous duo. Granted, Christian and Taylor helped out a lot. But, the men were only too happy to help, They nod and smile as they look at their blackmailers again)

Kate: "We have our ways."

Ana: "Don't you know by now, you prick, that we would get the upper hand in the end?"

Jack: "I'm still curious as to how you know."

Kate: (scoffs) "If you honestly think we're going to tell you, you two are dumber than we thought."

(Jack nods in anger as he was getting more pissed off by the second. The light bulb went off in his head as he realized what happened)

Jack: "It was Grey and his fucking sidekick, wasn't it? They were the ones who found everything out."

Ana: "Like we stated before, you idiot, we're not telling you a damn thing."

(Jack's face turns dark as he couldn't believe the bitches not only knew his secret, but that they're not cooperating. He decides one more time to get what he wants and has wanted all along)

Jack: (shakes his head slowly) "I will ask nicely one more time. I want the money. If you give it to us, everything will be forgiven."

(Both ladies burst out laughing in response)

Kate: "Bullshit it will!"

Ana: "The answer is no, you dipshit! You get diddly squat. Get over it!"

(Jack sighs softly and stares darkly at them)

Jack: "I won't ask again. Also, I WILL turn you two in."

Ana: "Go ahead. You turn us in, we'll turn you in."

(Kate and Ana are caught off-guard by Jack's next move. They take a step back and put their hands in front of them in shock with their mouths open when Jack turns a gun on them)

Jack: "You two shouldn't have messed with me." (spat out) "Now, you pay the price."

(This time, it was Jack and Jose's turn to be caught off-guard when they hear a familiar voice)

Christian: "I wouldn't do that if I were you, 'Page'."

(Jack jumps a bit at not only hearing Christian's voice, but when he said the name 'Page'. What the hell? Jack thought to himself! Taylor then comes out of the shadows with a gun aimed at Jack, too)

Jack: (narrows his eyebrows) "How did you find out my secret?"

(The light bulb comes on and Jack bursts out laughing as he shakes his head)

Jack: "I should have known. I should have known that the two of you jackasses would be in on it."

(Jose spat out as he faces Christian and Taylor)

Jose: "You two just had to get involved when it would've been a nice clean trade."

(This time, it was Christian's turn to laugh! Wow! Were Jack and Jose this delusional? Christian crosses his arms while speaking)

Christian: "Clean trade, my ass! Not when you're blackmailing two innocent women!"

Jack: (laughs incredulously) "Innocent, my ass!" (pointing at Christian) "I warn you, Grey. I have the pictures of the night they killed Kate's stepfather. I also have documents of it, too. Don't think that I won't hesitate to use them to get what I want."

Christian: (not amused) "Try it. I dare you. If you or Jose say one word about Kate and Ana's role about that night, you will go to prison for stealing and you, Jose? You'll be in jail for blackmail." (serious tone) "Don't think that Taylor and I won't make sure that you two will go to prison for life."

Jack: (weird look) "You can't do that."

Christian: (turns his head slightly) "Oh, no? Are you sure about that? Have you forgotten what I'm capable of? You and Jose both know that I have the money and the resources to do what I damn well please. If I want you two in jail, I can make it happen."

(Jack's eyes widen as he knew that his enemy was right. Christian had all the resources and money in the world to do what he felt like. Jack knew he had to think quick on his feet to get the upper hand against Grey and his sidekick. Jack looks around, trying to think of his next step while Taylor continued to aim his gun at both Jose and Jack)

(Jack and Jose stare at each other, as if trying to come up with a last-minute attempt at a plan. Jack briefly looks to his left, making it known to Jose what he needs to do. Jose casually walks to Taylor and Christian with Kate and Ana wondering what the hell is going on)

(All of a sudden, Jose throws the open briefcase at Taylor, making sure the fake money goes in Taylor's face. Jack takes the opportunity to grab Ana without anyone noticing. Jack puts the gun to her temple as she screams for Christian. Christian yells Ana's name and attempts to save her, but Jack cocks the pistol)

(In that split-second decision, Christian rushes to Jack and fights with Jack for the gun. Taylor yells at Ana to get out of the way. Even though Ana is out of harm's way, Jack and Christian are still fighting over the gun when goes off. Everyone thinks that everyone is fine when Ana looks wide-eyed)

Ana: (whispers) "Christian."

(Christian looks in horror when Ana falls to the ground. He yells Ana's name as he rushes to her, taking her in his arms. Taylor aims his gun at Jack and Jose and shoots them in the leg to prevent them from trying to take off. Afterwards, both Kate and Taylor rush to Christian, who soothes a wounded Ana)

(Christian caresses Ana's creamy face and sees that she was shot in the chest as more blood drenches her sweatshirt)

Christian: (worriedly) "Fight, Ana. Fight to live."

(Her eyes flutter open and shut, with her trying to speak. When it looks like she's fading away, Christian scarily raises his voice at the love of his life. At long last, to everyone around, Christian makes his true feelings for Anastasia known. He caresses her hair and face harder and wills her to live)

Christian: "No! Don't you give up, Anastasia! Please fight! Stay with me! I love you! Don't leave me!"

Chapter 30 Done
