Chapter 34

(Ana can't help but look at the clock in her hospital room and sighs in confusion)

Ana: "I wonder what is taking Christian so long? I thought he was going to come while Kate and Elliot were on their date? That ended a while ago, I think." (sighs) "Maybe I should call him."

(She had Christian's number in her phone. She looked it up and stares at it and was thinking of pressing 'send' when she stops herself)

Ana: (shakes her head) "No, don't do that, Steele. You don't want it to look like you don't trust him. I don't want to bother him, either." (tilts her head) "But I could send him a text."

(She gets her phone ready to send a text)

Ana: "'Can't wait to see you…Ana'."

(She presses send)

Ana: (groans) "I can't wait to get out of the hospital." (sighs happily) "Then I get to go on a date with Christian. The love of my life." (smiles) "I'm sure that'll be epic."

***Christian's Condo***

(Christian sighs deeply as he spoke. He and Elena are both still in the doorway with the door open)

Christian: "Why are you here, Elena?"

Elena: (jokingly) "You look like you are in a rush, Grey. Do you have a hot date or something?"

Christian: (shakes his head) "It's none of your business."

Elena: (narrows her eyes) "I'm guessing you're going to see HER?" (referring to Ana)

(Christian scoffs incredulously at his ex)

Christian: "Not that it's any of your goddamned business, but yes, I'm going to see Ana."

(Elena rolls her eyes and walks past Christian, making herself at home. She throws her purse and a light jacket that she had on on the chair, annoying Christian)

Christian: "What the fuck do you think you're doing?"

(Elena turns around and smirks, raising her hands to her sides)

Elena: "I've got great news, my love. I'm officially divorced."

Christian: (raises one eyebrow) "Why should I care?"

(Elena casually walks to her ex. She rests her hands on his chest and smiles at him)

Elena: "Now, we can finally be together."

(Christian roughly takes her hands away from him as he speaks)

Christian: "Don't you get it, Robinson? I want Ana."

(Elena begins to flirt with Christian by giving him sultry looks and attempting to touch him)

Elena: "I'm free now, baby. I'm free as a bird and I want you." (raises her eyebrows) "Are you sure that you want Anastasia, baby? In the past, you couldn't get enough of me."

(He quickly backs away from her)

Christian: "That was before you were married."

Elena: (sighs) "I don't know how many times I have to say it, Grey, before it clicks in your mind. I…WANT…YOU. We are finally able to be together."

(Christian huffs in response and goes to grab her purse and jacket, He then walks to the front door, intending to throw her stuff out. He is caught off-guard by his ex's next move)

Christian: "What are you doing?"

Elena: (smirks) "What does it look like I'm doing?"

(Elena starts to undress slowly, just like she did when they were together. She had on a blue buttoned blouse with a matching blue skirt. She's on the second button of her blouse. Moments later, she starts on her third button while sexily dancing)

(When Christian turns away, she knew she was getting to him. He folds his arms and attempts to get what she used to do out of his mind. It was clear, though, that he was getting weak in the knees. It got worse when she was halfway down her blouse and her blue lacy bra showed. She opens her shirt a bit, showing her perfectly rounded breasts through the almost see-through bra)

Elena: "There's nothing wrong with admitting that you want me, baby."

(Christian gets fed up! What the fuck did he have to say or do to convince her that he didn't want the bitch?! He rushes to Elena and yells at her face)

Christian: "Let me make this perfectly clear, you fucking bitch! I…DON'T…WANT…YOU! I…WANT…ANA!"

(She takes a step closer to him, making them able to feel the others breath. She looks into his eyes while managing to sneak glances at his lips. Ooh, those lips that she had longed to kiss)

Elena: (smiles confidently) "You do know, Grey, that if you truly wanted Ana, you would've thrown me out a long time ago."

(He rolls his eyes in annoyance and walks away. He tells her to get out, making her wonder if he truly wanted that. After walking in a circle, he faces her with his hands to his sides)

Christian: "Don't you get it, Elena? You had all this time…ALL THIS TIME….to be with me! But, no! You chose him!" (sarcastically) "Oh, you were so in love with him! But NOT my fault that you couldn't make up your damn mind! What'd you expect me to do? Wait forever for you?" (shakes his head) "Fuck, no! I found a woman, a REAL woman, who loves me and would not string me along."

Elena: "Yeah, but is she truly who's in your heart?"

(As Elena continues to speak, she finishes unbuttoning her blouse and, after taking it off, she throws the garment on the chair behind her with the rest of her things. He tries to look away, but each time he did, she would use her fingertips to make him look at her again. He would occasionally forcefully take her hands off his chin. However, he found himself slowly caving in)

(Damn it!, He thought to himself. Why in the hell does she do this?! She isn't in his heart! Ana is! It was like he was losing any power that he had. His ex was winning and he was powerless to stop it. Elena smiles seductively as she knew she was overpowering him, too)

(She leans forward and begins kissing his neck, laying soft kisses so he could feel her luscious lips on him. She would then gently use her tongue to lick his sweet, creamy neck. Before long, she focused on his cheekbones)

(Without meaning to or realizing it, he let a soft moan escape his mouth. He gasps slightly when she whispers in his right ear)

Elena: "It's okay to want me, baby."

(Just when he starts to cave and lose his control, memories of his love for Ana and their times together leading up to him finally confessing his undying love to her made him realize he almost made a huge mistake)

***Flashbacks***

Ana: "Nice to meet you, Christian."

Christian: (nods & smiles) "You, too, Ana."

(The first time they met since on the sidewalk and they're coming face to face now in his office, in shock. It was the day he interviewed her for 'Grey Magazine')

Christian: "I know I should be careful. I can't help it, though. You keep reeling me in. And you don't even know it." (groans) "What are you doing to me, Anastasia Steele?"

Christian: "To be completely honest, I think I care more than I should about you. There's something about you that pulls me in."

Christian: (yells) "Don't you get it, Anastasia?! I want to help you because I love you!"

(When it looks like she's fading away, Christian scarily raises his voice at the love of his life. At long last, to everyone around, Christian makes his true feelings for Anastasia known. He caresses her hair and face harder and wills her to live)

Christian: "No! Don't you give up, Anastasia! Please fight! Stay with me! I love you! Don't leave me!"

Christian: "But, with you, Anastasia Rose Steele…" (smiles) "I feel in my heart I'm ready to conquer the world and see where it takes me." (nods) "As long as I have you by my side." (nods & smiles) "I love you and will till the day I die."

****End of Flashbacks***

(Christian looks up at the ceiling while closing his eyes often. Elena keeps whispering sweet things in his ear. He remembers all the pain Elena has caused him over the years. How she may 'love' him, but he'll always wonder if she will go back to Linc when things got bad)

(After remembering his love for Ana, his true love, a fire burns inside of him! He was a fucking prick! He will never forgive himself for letting it go this far! He wouldn't blame Ana, either. He breaks free from Elena's grasp in a rough way. He grabs her arms, causing her to look at him in confusion)

Elena: "Christian?" (stutters) "Wh-What's going on?"

(He faces her, dead in the face. A face she has never seen from him in all the years that she has known him. It almost scared her as she gave him a shocked look)

Christian: "I love Ana, not you, you bitch. Now, get the fuck out of my place, or I'll physically throw your ass out."

(Elena inhales sharply at the tone of his voice)

Elena: "You-You don't mean that. Christian, I'm finally free!"

(Christian scoffs meanly as he shakes his head in a fury)

Christian: "You don't get it, do you? I…DON'T…CARE. I DON'T GIVE A SHIT! I FOUND A REAL WOMAN WHO DOESN'T HURT ME! NOT LIKE YOU HAVE, ROBINSON."

Elena: (horrified) "You never called me by my last name this much before."

Christian: (raises his eyebrows) "Then, maybe you need to get the picture, lady. Now, I'll tell you one more time. LEAVE."

(Elena gets pissed off! She can't believe he's talking to her like this! He never did before and she's speechless! Out of the blue, Gail comes out of the kitchen with her arms folded. She faces Elena with a serious expression)

Gail: "Either you listen to Mr. Grey and get the hell out, or I'll throw your ass out myself."

(Elena was wondering if Gail would do that. Suddenly, Christian grabs Elena's stuff and her arms and throws her into the hallway. He shuts the door and locks it behind him)

***Hallway***

Elena: (angrily) "Game on, bitch. You won't win Christian. Not if I can help it!"

(Elena puts on her blouse and buttons it up before gathering her things and departing)

***Inside Christian's Condo***

(Christian sighs deeply as he faces Gail)

Christian: "I take it I gave you a scare with the way I spoke?"

(Gail walks to her boss as well as a friend as she spoke)

Gail: "I admit I was a little surprised with what you said to Elena." (shakes her head) "But, I knew it was coming, though." (small smile) "She had it coming. In my opinion, it should have happened a long time ago. Maybe now, she'll get the picture and leave you the hell alone." (slightly nervous) "Did I overstep with how I spoke to your ex?"

Christian: (shakes his head) "No, you didn't overstep." (chuckles softly) "It's like you know when it's enough or too much. You did just fine."

(Christian moves his head slightly in curiosity)

Christian: "Would you really have thrown her ass out?"

(Gail walks to Christian and smiles)

Gail: "As long as you approved and didn't object…you bet your ass I would have."

(Christian laughs hard at Gail's sassiness. He never expected anything less than the truth from his housekeeper as well as a friend. Christian walks to his couch and sits down. He pats the spot next to him for her to sit down, which she does. He sighs deeply as he speaks to his friend)

Christian: "You've never been less than honest with me when I've asked you."

Gail: (nods) "You're right."

Christian: "What did you think about what happened here this evening?"

Gail: "Elena doesn't know when to mind her own damn business. I think she knows you don't want her, but being Linc doesn't want her, either, you're next in line." (scoffs) "It also pisses her off that you love someone else and not her. To be honest, Mr. Grey? I never thought Elena was good enough for you. However, if you did want to be with her…truly did…I would respect it. But…from what I've seen between you and Miss Steele as well as when you talk about her…" (smiles) "I know she's in your heart."

Christian: (nods) "She is, Gail. She's in my heart. She's been in my heart all of this time and I didn't even realize it." (scoffs) "I'm pretty fucked up, Gail."

Gail: (nods) "You're learning, Mr. Grey. From what I've seen, Elena was your only relationship before Ana came along. Elena showed you the wrong parts of a relationship. She cheated on Linc with you and then when she was with you, she wanted him again. It's like she doesn't know what she wants. She's messing with your heart in the process. I don't like that."

Christian: (shakes his head) "I don't, either. I admit that I thought for a long time that Elena was the one. But when she couldn't make up her mind? That didn't help her case. Ana knows what she wants. At the hospital, at long last, we FINALLY admitted we loved each other. She's worried that Elena is going to have a presence in our life."

(Christian sighs deeply as he wipes his face with his hands, leaning forward, with his elbows on his thighs)

Gail: (nods) "Given what Elena did this evening, that is a valid concern for Ana. However, only you can put a stop to Elena's attempts to get you back. It seemed to work tonight. However, if Elena gets anymore ideas in her head, you will need to put a stop to it. Something tells me you will, though."

Christian: (nods in determination) "I want Ana. I'll make Elena realize that. I'll also prove to Ana she's the only one I want. The only one for me."

(Christian faces Gail and shakes his head)

Christian: "I just hope I haven't lost Ana, Gail. She's the love of my life. She's the only woman I want…ever." (nods) "I'll tell her everything tomorrow at the hospital. I just hope she'll forgive me."
