Here's another chapter. Sorry for sucking and not posting for so long. I was suddenly obsessed with writing and updating "Still Hurting." If you haven't already done so, check it out. It is verrrry different from anything else I have done so far. I hope this holds you over as I figure out what's going on.

"ROSE GINEVERA WEASLEY!" Ron Weasley's voice echoes throughout the hall. Rose knows this is going to be bad. Scorpius is still pulling her after him, trying to find someplace remotely private to let the howler scream it out. The howler follows them as the hurry through the corridor.

"I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT YOU LET YOURSELF GET PREGNANT. I NEVER BELIEVED YOU TO BE IRRESPONIBLE. YOU CANNOT BEGIN TO UNDERSTAND HOW ANGRY YOUR MOTHER AND I ARE WITH YOU RIGHT NOW. I ALWAYS KNEW THAT MALFOY BOY WAS A PIECE OF SLIME. I WARNED YOU ABOUT HIM. THIS IS NOT HOW WEASLEY'S DO THINGS. YOU ARE GOING TO BE IN A WORLD OF TROUBLE WHEN WE SEE YOU. I CAN'T EVEN TELL YOU HOW GROUNDED YOU ARE." Rose closes her eyes. They were a little ways away from the entrance to the Great Hall, but she knows the echoes through the stone walls must be carrying the noise from the howler.

"AND YOU!" Rose's father's voice yells as the howler turns towards Scorpius. "IF I EVER GET MY HANDS ON YOU, I'LL RING YOUR BLOODY NECK! AND THAT'S A PROMISE!"

Then it tears itself to shreds.

Rose stares at Scorpius with wide eyes. "Fuck," he says, looking back at her. Her eyes are full of tears. "Come on, let's go," he drags her quickly down the stairs and into the first empty classroom they can find.

"Rose, just breathe through it. It's okay," Scorpius says, running his hands up and down her arms in a soothing manner. "Just let it out."

Rose shakes her head and instead turns her eyes down to the other letter she had gotten. When she opens it, she's unsurprised to see her mother's neat handwriting.

Dear Rose,

I'm sure your father sent a howler, even though I advised him not to. I considered sending one too, but I decided against it.

Rose, I cannot begin to express to you how disappointed I am in you.

I never expected something like this from you. You are a lot of things Rose, but you are not a fool. Your actions make you seem that you are.

We will talk about this when you come home for Christmas holidays.

Mum

Rose notes that it's shorter than her father's howler. And she didn't sign it with love, mum. No. Just mum.

Rose finally let the tears fall.

"It's alright Rosie," Scorpius says soothingly, pulling her to him. "Just let it out."

OoOoO

Scorpius takes her to his dorm in the dungeons once she is finished crying and lets her lay down on his bed to rest. He then disappears abruptly. She stares unblinkingly at the wall.

He returns sometime later with Lucy's arm in a death grip, practically hauling her into the room.

"Ow ow ow! Stop dragging me! I didn't do it, I swear!" Lucy looks terrified.

Scorpius' face is completely blank. Rose can tell he's furious. "Don't lie. We know it was you."

"I didn't, I didn't, I swear I didn't!" She looks like she's on the verge of tears. "Rose, you've gotta believe me! I told you I wouldn't tell and I didn't tell!"

"Lucy," Rose sighs, sitting up, "no one else knew. No one else could have told."

"Look, Rose, I don't know who did it! It wasn't me though!"

"Stop lying!" Scorpius yells.

"I'm not lying!" Lucy yells right back.

"She's not lying," a voice from the ceiling sings. Rose, Scorpius, and Lucy all turn their heads upwards to see Peeves lounging upside down above the bed.

"How would you know?" Scorpius asks.

"Because!" Peeves yells gleefully as he dives into the floor.

"Peeves, come back!" Rose shouts at the spot the poltergeist disappeared.

"You can't just leave and not explain!" Scorpius yells at the stones at his feet.

"What is it you want me to explain?" Peeves asks grinning, from the other side of the room, where he reappeared.

"How do you know that Lucy isn't lying?" Rose asks him.

"That's for me to know," he shouts and flies up into the ceiling. His head pops down from above, "And for you to never find out."

"Peeves, this is important!"

"Oh, I'm sorry," Peeves simpers down at Rose when his head reappears, "I didn't realize the severity of the situation. Sorry to inconvenience you ma'am," he mocks.

"Peeves," Scorpius says in a dangerous voice, "I can have the Bloody Baron in here before you can say 'idiot poltergeist.'"

Peeves turns to Scorpius with a condescending look on his face. "Oh, I'm just t-t-t-terrified. I'm practically shaking in my boots," he shakes his legs for emphasis. "That threat stopped being scary years ago!" Rose can't help but notice that his eyes are shifting around the room now.

Scorpius' mouth twitches for a moment as he calls his bluff.

"Alright. I'll tell you," Peeves says with a huff. "Myrtle told me; she told all the ghosts, ghouls, and poltergeists. Maybe a few house elves or so too! She overheard you in the bathroom. I decided I would have a little fun and tell a student or two. And things spread quickly. It doesn't matter who says it or if it even sounds like it might be true. Gossip is gossip." Peeves shoots a glare at Scorpius and spits, "Satisfied?" before sinking through the floor and out of sight.

Scorpius and Rose exchange look. Then they turn to Lucy, who has her arms crossed over her chest.

"I told you," she says. Then she turns on her heel and walks away.

Scorpius and Rose stand in silence for a minute before he breaks it.

"So. Do I still need to go home with you at Christmas?"

Rose shoots him the dirtiest look she can muster.

"If I'm going to have to face my parents, so are you," she grinds out between her clenched teeth.

Scorpius sighs and rubs at his face. "That's what I thought."

OoOoO

Both Rose and Scorpius are surprised when no letters or howlers come from the Malfoys about the situation. After a week of nothing, they wonder if they are perhaps in the clear. Then one Wednesday, a letter arrives for Scorpius from his mother's snow-white owl. He opens it to find one sentence written in his father's quick scrawl. We'll talk during holiday. Rose thinks this is even more frightening than her father's promise to kill Scorpius.

The repercussions of her father's howler were much what Rose had expected and feared. Everyone was staring at both her and Scorpius anywhere they went. There are whispers throwing around the word "slag." They are only whispers because when someone had the nerve to say it loud enough for she and Scorpius to hear, Scorpius had made them eat slugs and landed himself in detention for a week. Some boys in fourth year and up had started telling stories about their own escapades with Rose and how she had bedded them, then broken their hearts when she moved on to the next guy.

Some sixth- and seventh-years girls had been spreading around that Rose had gotten pregnant on purpose to trap Scorpius into dating her and possibly marrying her later. Rose laughed at this, because she was quite sure such a tactic would not work on Scorpius, who she was certain would die before committing to a monogamous relationship with a girl for any reason at all.

Rose's family had rallied behind her, after the initial surprise had worn off. In the Great Hall they made sure she was always seated in the middle of their large group so no one could ask her questions. At least one of her cousins would walk with her to classes. And anyone who dared breathe a bad word about her in the earshot of a Weasley or Potter had to face the wrath of the whole clan. Rose was extremely thankful for having such a large and loving family.

Hugo had been extremely supportive of her, making sure he was with her any time she wanted to use the library and would even spend time with her in the Ravenclaw common room despite him not having any other friends in the house, aside from Lorcan Scamander.

Rose's family had mixed feelings about Scorpius, with her male cousins initially threatening to beat him to a pulp. Once they saw that Rose was still attached to him at the hip, they absorbed him into their bubble as well.

Rose was a little upset with Scorpius, simply because no one else seemed to be. Apparently, their schoolmates felt that it was just a matter of time until Scorpius got someone pregnant and were honestly surprised it hadn't happened sooner.

Amongst all the rumors and talking that was going on about their situation one question came up again and again and no one could really think of a solid answer: Why was Rose keeping the baby? And why is Scorpius Malfoy letting her?

OoOoO

"What about adoption? Why is that off limits to you? It's not a bad choice." Scorpius and Rose discussed their options again as they sat next to the Black Lake. They were studying and throwing food to the Giant Squid before the lake froze over for winter.

"Voldemort was an orphan."

"So was Uncle Harry and he turned out fine."

"He was hit with the killing curse twice, I don't think that qualifies as 'fine,'" Scorpius shoots back, "I'm just saying that I don't want my child to be the next magical dictator."

"It won't be an orphan anyways. It'll live with another family," Rose tells him.

"What if the kid goes to someone evil. Wasn't the Chosen One raised by his wicked muggle family?"

"I don't have any wicked muggle family members. Do you? What do you want to do? Keep it?"

"Well, ye-" a crack of thunder interrupts his thoughts.

"Come on, it's about to start raining," Rose tells him, grabbing her things from the grass and starting back up towards the school. Scorpius curses and catches up with her.

"Just think. You haven't considered all the options," Scorpius tells her.

"Scorpius," Rose sighs, "you need to think about this logically. We are 17 years old. That may be an adult in the eyes of the Ministry, but we are still children. Now come on, I don't want to get wet." She grabs the sleeve of his robe and drags him after her. When they get inside, she tells him, "I'm going to go get changed before dinner. I'll see you in the Great Hall."

"I'll walk you to your dorm, Rose, we can talk about it some more."

Rose shakes her head, "I'd rather be alone right now, thanks." She quickly walks away. She hears Scorpius call after her, but she ignores him.

Rose makes it halfway to the Ravenclaw common room before Vincent Goyle stops her.

"'ey there pretty girl," he slides out from his hiding place, appearing suddenly from an alcove in the corridor. "Where are you headed?"

"None of your business, Goyle," she tells him as she moves to step around him.

"Where's your boyfriend?" he asks, moving his large body to stop her from passing him.

Rose rolls her eyes. "Bugger off." She successfully gets past him and hastens her steps.

She can tell he's following her from the footsteps she hears behind her.

"I can't believe you let bloody Malfoy into your knickers. You must have heard the rumors of how good he is in bed. Too bad you don't know who the real Slytherin sex god is," he says suddenly grabbing her hand and turning her around.

"Oh, really Crabbe?" Rose says icily, "And you want me to believe that's you?"

"You bet it is," he whispers, moving himself closer to her.

"You're daft if you think I'd ever give you the time of day," she tells him, turning away from him again. He grabs her waist so suddenly she doesn't even realize he's holding her until she feels the hard stone wall on her back. His hand slides up her waist to grab her breast while his other hand starts to slide under her skirt.

"You're about to find out what you've been missing," he purrs in her ear. She can feel his hot breath on her shoulder. "And we don't even have to worry about protection." She shudders at the unpleasant feeling of him so close She shudders against him. "Too bad your gaggle of cousins aren't here to keep you safe." His hand brushes her knickers. She can feel his arousal where he presses up against her hip.

Rose casts a wandless petrificus totalus, which knocks him backwards and to the ground.

"What makes you think I need them to keep me safe?" she growls at his unmoving body. "I know how to take care of myself." He can't speak, but Rose can tell from the anger in his eyes that this is not the last she'll hear from him.
