Chapter 41

***Still Sunday Night***

(Christian was as happy as can be after his date with Ana. He truly felt he was on cloud nine. His first date with Ana went absolutely perfect. Not only had he found the love of his life, but he finally found his soulmate)

(After arriving home, he put his coat on the coat hanger next to the front door. He was feeling a little bit parched, so he goes to the kitchen to get a bottle of water from the kitchen fridge. He was taken aback to hear a familiar voice)

Gail: "Welcome home, Mr. Grey."

Christian: (jumps slightly) "Holy shit, Gail. You scared me."

Gail: (chuckles) "My apologies. How was date night with Miss Steele?"

Christian: (smiles sheepishly) "Magical. Perfection. I could go on but it went great. I thought you'd be gone by now. Everything okay?"

Gail: "Your mother called earlier. She's wondering how you've been."

Christian: "I regretfully admit that it's been awhile since we last spoke. I'll make sure to call her before bed. Thank you, Gail."

(After grabbing a water bottle from the fridge, Christian and Gail sit down on a chair at the kitchen table. He takes a drink before sighing deeply)

Christian: "I am so glad that Ana came into my life, Gail. I truly could not be happier."

Gail: (nods) "You do look happier. I'm so elated for you, Mr. Grey."

Christian: "Gail, please. I know you prefer calling me Mr. Grey. But, you can call me Christian."

Gail: (shrugs) "It just feels weird to call you that, especially being you're my boss."

Christian: (smirks) "Then I'll have to insist on calling you Mrs. Jones."

Gail: (playfully rolls her eyes) "Okay, fine." (tilts her head) "How does Miss Steele compare to Mrs. Robinson?"

Christian: (laughs) "They don't. Elena wanted things and never gave in return. Anastasia? She gives and doesn't expect anything in return. Same thing at the office. Anything I ask of her, Ana delivers without a single complaint." (nods) "She's perfect just the way she is."

Gail: "It sounds like you've met your match in Miss Steele. I don't have a single complaint against her, either. With Elena?" (raises her eyebrows) "Where do I begin? She couldn't choose between you and Linc if her life depended on it. She cheated on you AND Linc too many times to mention. Never have I ever met someone as selfish and rude as Elena."

Christian: "Elena knew how I felt about Ana and she tried to come between us anyway." (angrily) "I almost lost Ana because of that bitch."

Gail: "What matters is that you didn't. You and Elena are over for good and you and Anastasia are solid and in love. I couldn't be happier for you two."

Christian: (nods & smiles) "Thank you. It truly means everything to me that you support us."

Gail: (smiles wide) "Okay, boss, I've got to ask. How'd your first date with Anastasia go? Was it everything you imagined it would be and more?"

Christian: (sighs happily) "Oh, Gail. It was everything and more. It was perfect. I couldn't have asked for a better time with the love of my life. I was a bit worried that Ana wouldn't have a good time. Of course, she amazed me, as usual." (chuckles) "I can't get enough of her. She said she had an absolutely great time, too. I had to playfully give her grief, as she said she doesn't need jewelry to complete her. I would have enjoyed spoiling her with jewelry and gifts. We compromised that I would surprise her with the occasional jewelry. Of course, if I had it my way, I would spoil her all the time."

Gail: (laughs) "I don't doubt for a minute that you would. I admire Miss Steele. It just proves to me what I already know about her. She's beautiful and doesn't need expensive things from you to have a good time." (smirks) "I knew she was a keeper."

Christian: (nods) "She is definitely a keeper. Now that I have her, I don't have any intentions of letting her go. She's my girl for life."

Gail: "And I'm sure she doesn't mind that at all." (grins) "Oh, I'm so happy you two have found each other." (hopeful look) "Was there a kiss after the first date?"

Christian: (grins) "Not only was there a first kiss, but a follow up kiss."

Gail: (squeals slightly) "Oh, do tell me more."

Christian: (laughs) "The night I explained things to her and played my piano for her, we kissed for the first time. It was everything I hoped for and more. Her beautiful plump red lips were divine. Then, after the first date, we sealed it with our second kiss. I couldn't have asked for a more perfect time or kiss."

(Gail shakes her head and smiles)

Gail: "I'm so happy for you, Mr. Grey. You have found someone to heal your broken heart. She has found someone to love and cherish her for who she is. May you forever be blessed."

(Gail points at her boss with a serious expression)

Gail: "Don't let her go. If you did, you'd be a damn idiot."

Christian: "Trust me, Gail. I have no intentions of ever letting her go. She's my angel. I've never been this happy."

Gail: (tilts her head) "There's something I want to ask you."

Christian: (nods) "Go ahead."

Gail: "Would you really do the restraining order against Elena?"

Christian: "It's already set in motion. I'm tired of her coming here when she knows that she's not wanted. I've warned her if she comes near me or Ana, her ass is in jail. I'll admit I never thought that I'd see the day when I'd do that. However, she needs to know I mean business. I'll protect myself and Ana at all costs. Elena will know that you don't mess with Christian Grey and get away with it."

Gail: (nods happily) "Damn straight." (clears her throat) "Well, unless you need anything else, I'm going to take off for the night."

Christian: "No problem. Have a good night."

(After Gail leaves Christian's condo, Christian walks up to his room and gets comfortable sitting up in bed. He takes his cell phone out of his suit pants pocket and dials his mothers cell number. It rings a few times until she picks up)

Grace: (sweetly) "Christian, dear. I was hoping I'd hear from you tonight."

Christian: "My apologies that I didn't call earlier." (chuckles softly) "Between having my first date with Anastasia earlier to talking to Gail, things got busy."

Grace: "No problem. I completely understand. So, how was your date with Anastasia?"

Christian: "It was everything I was hoping for and more. We shared our first kiss the other night and our second one tonight. I've never been happier, mom. I owe it all to Anastasia Steele."

Grace: "It sounds like she fills your heart full of love. I'm so happy for you, honey."

(Grace tries to hide her contempt for her next question)

Grace: (clears her throat) "How are things between you and Elena?"

Christian: "You DO know that you don't have to try being polite regarding Elena, right? Mother, I know you never liked or approved of our relationship."

Grace: (sighs) "You're right. I never liked her and always thought you could do so much better. I would never tell you who to be with, though."

Christian: "For the record, yes, I finally wised up to Elena. I learned the hard way that she's not the only woman out there in the world. It just took getting cheated on and getting stepped on."

Grace: "She could never make up her mind who she wanted. I'm just glad you finally listened to your heart. The heart never lies."

Christian: "It's funny because ever since my first encounter with Anastasia, I felt a pull towards her. The pull was immediate and it was like I had an immediate connection with her. Does that sound weird at all?"

Grace: "No, honey, it doesn't. You sound like a man in love who would do anything for her. I, for one, could not be prouder of you."

Christian: "Thank you, Mother. I've been a bad brother. How is Mia doing? Elliot, I saw not too long ago."

Grace: "Mia is doing well. She misses her big brother. She knows you're busy with work, so she hasn't stopped by. She figured when work died down, you'd come by."

Christian: "Please tell her I'll come visit soon. Elliot comes by now and then."

Grace: (chuckles) "You do know that your younger brother idolizes you."

Christian: "With my relationship history, I'm not sure that is a good idea."

Grace: "Nonsense. You realized your errors and fixed the problem. Everything is fine now."

Christian: "True. I appreciate you saying that, mom."

Grace: "You know I only speak the truth, sweetie. You have done well for yourself. Be proud on all that you have accomplished, my son. I will let you go so you can get a good night's sleep. Take care and we'll talk again soon."

Christian: "Sounds good. Love you, mom."

Grace: "Love you, too, sweetie."

(After the call ends, Christian smiles happily before getting ready to take a shower. Back to work tomorrow and he was looking forward to it. His girl would be back and his ex is gone for good. Everything was good in the world. And it was all due to Anastasia Rose Steele)
