Chapter 2

The weak are left behind, only the strong survive… at least, that what I have always been told. In a universe full of strong warriors, you are to live your life knowing that any given day, those warriors will seek you out and destroy you were you stand…

Unless you get to them first.

It has been ingrained into me, ever since I woke from the cloning process. I endured the same simulated hardships the original Boros endured when he was alive in order to become strong.

I have to become stronger than the original, for his life ended on this world.

It was all I lived for, all I looked forward to. There was nothing that would change me other wise. At least, that's what I assumed.

In my isolation, I began to grow restless. I wanted to be free. I wanted out and I wished to do my own training to become strong once more. Yet, the tube that contained me was far too strong for me to break at the time. I endured, at the same time, I would look about the room and see those who had followed the original Boros were also cloned. His strongest men were lying in wait to finish their own growth to answer to me, obey me and do everything I desire of them.

I looked forward to taking this world as my own, like the one before me. Leave nothing behind and reap what there is.

So much thought went into this, until the day, they arrived. In my isolation, I sensed powerful energies outside of this containment, out side of this odd haul of the ship I had been restrained to.

I could sense their auras from where I stood, they were in close proximity and I wished to seek these energies out, for they could provide me either a decent fight or even a stronger crew.

With what strength I could gather, I summoned a powerful pulse, just enough to shatter my own glass container and yet, I was not prepared for the environment at first.

Gravity, atmosphere, my own fail state, I never took into account. But there was another issue. The moment I became free, I felt my body crave nourishment. I grew desperate to devour anything I could. So much so my sights turned to my own crew who have yet to achieve the same level of growth as me.

It was difficult to do, however, I had to live in order to lead. I devoured the clones of the weaker men, it was enough to sustain me, however, as time passed, I grew and the clones were becoming fewer and fewer.

I am not strong enough to break the metal doors that confine me, if I do not get out soon, I know I will starve to death.

Such a terrible faith for one destined to rule the universe!

I nearly came to accept the terrible end, until I heard sounds, and then, I felt strong, powerful auras. Something was moving outside the doors!

Quickly, I hid, to ensure if those who came were hostile, I would prepare a counter measure.

Yet as the doors opened, I saw them.

Two of the strangest aliens I have ever seen! One was a female, whose power was greater than her male counterpart. She took in the room with utter fascination but her sights were set on the technology. The room was dark until the hologram of the original Boros appeared and addressed the two strange creatures.

It spoke to them as if they were members of the crew, however a countermeasure was in place in case they weren't. It brought focus to the clones still confined in their chambers. However they were leary when they noticed the one that I came from was shattered! The female had rushed to the computer and try and override the command, there was one given to two of the strongest men on the Dark Matter ship, for their clones to start their rapid growth. The female could do nothing, so the male opted to try and destroy the chambers, only to be thrown out of the room.

I thought for certain the female was done for, she was bashed into the wall by the telepath that fully matured. However as she bled, a wild look came over her.

She fought back with such vigor, I never thought that two of the former top generals of the Dark Matter would have been manhandled in such a way.

What came next stunned me to my core.

She began to devour them!

There was no hesitation as she consumed the dead. Yet as she did, the male began to bash into the metal door. Not even I could dent such a thing in my state, however, somehow, he tore it off the hinges!

I became in aw of them.

The two were partners, mates even as the male rushed to the female who started to change oddly. She absorbed the properties of the former generals. Horned skin on her arms and shoulders, she grew a third eye and possessed the telepath's full power.

It was inspiring!

However, if I revealed myself, would she too devour me?

I didn't know, but I knew if I stayed here, I would starve to death if they leave without me.

I took the risk.

The male was the first to spot me. He froze in a surprised state as he tried to get a closer look of me. But then, the female began to glow. She spoke using the telepath's power. 'Little one, do you answer to the name Boros?'

Her voice was calm and gentle on my mind. I nearly didn't know what to make of her at first. Yet I came out of hiding, curious to her next course of action. Despite not uttering a word, she appeared to have grasped my situation. Apparently I woke 3 months ago, yet as she spoke, I took another risk.

I inched myself closer to the male until I laid in his lab and tried to appear harmless. "Aw, I think he likes me!" he decreed.

The female however wasn't easily convinced, at least, that what I thought. "I think his instincts are kicking in, look cute to stay alive!" she laughed. But then paused as she looked at me oddly. "I think we need to raise him."

That alone stunned me. They were willing to take me out of his place into the open world? Are they that confident in their power?

Curious, I wished to understand her logic behind such action. Why would she willingly take such a risk on the likes of me? I couldn't understand, even more so to the actions of the female.

She walked around the room, before finding various materials. I was wrapped within the soft cloth she found and held me rather nicely. Not even the original's parents gave him such comfort before. Yet, she, a complete stranger did just that.

Perhaps, this odd pair would be useful…
