Castle wakes with a sudden feeling of someone watching them and immediately jolts up into a sitting position, looking around their room. His wife groans beside him but he doesn't look at her for the sake of not missing someone moving if they were indeed not alone.

"Wha'?" Beckett mumbles beside him and he squints to see in the dark.

Without warning her he turns on the lights which results in her groaning even louder and pulling the covers over her.

"I feel like someone's watching us," he says and she immediately pulls off the covers again to look up.

After a while she shakes her head and lies down again. "Go back to sleep, it was just a dream."

"Maybe someone stole that invisibility cloth and want to extract revenge on us for putting them in prison," his mind starts spiraling and he hears her grunt.

"It's not. Go back to bed."

Beckett hates when his mind creates those dreams of his. Or perhaps it was more like nightmares. She still remembers when he woke up from a nightmare involving ghosts who were able to hurt people, they'd spent an hour looking through the loft before he was able to fall asleep again. And she's not interested in doing that again.

When he's still not turning off the lights and relaxing beside her she sighs and sits up. "Castle, I love you but if you won't lay back to sleep within the next minute I will shoot you for disturbing my sleep."

"But what if someone's actually broken in?" he states and she wrinkles her forehead.

"Well, did the alarm go off? Did your phone get any notifications?" she questions, suddenly relieved he didn't listen to her when she made fun of him for installing cameras looking at the door to be able to get notification every time there were movements by the door.

He immediately scrambles for his phone and she can feel his tense body relax once he saw there was nothing going inside their loft.

"See, now, come on," she says taking his phone to put it back on his night table in order to free his hands. "Turn off the lights," she demands and once he has she grabs his hand and pulls him to her.

She quickly pecks his cheek before snuggling down and back to him, silently praying he's done thinking for the night.
