A/N: I was surprised by how many of you wanted a sequel so here it is. I can't thank you enough for supporting me and this story throughout all the years it took me to finish this. You are all amazing and this wouldn't exist without you.

P.S I decided that publishing the sequel under the same story would work better for technical reasons. Enjoy!

Piper had moved in with Alex a week after meeting her again after ten torturous years of them being apart. A lot of people worried that moving in with your significant other would put a strain on your relationship, but Piper's experience couldn't be more different. Sleeping and waking up next to Alex every day and having her around almost all day was pure bliss. Her face hurt from all the smiling. The best part was being able to be with her in public, holding her hand and kissing her whenever she felt like it. Again, it was commonly believed that secret relationships that didn't need to be secret anymore fell apart faster than a house of cards, but Piper didn't worry. What had drawn her to Alex wasn't the fact that their being together was forbidden, but the strong connection she felt with the younger woman. A connection that still existed after all these years and was stronger than ever.

While Piper had been searching for a steady job she helped her fiance -she loved saying that- in the bookstore. That meant more hours spent around Alex, which was a definite plus in Piper's book, but the brunette had made it clear that Piper had to stop teasing her to the point where she had to drag her to the supply room. Piper complied to that request- for the most part. It wasn't that she wanted to be bad and cause trouble. It's just that Alex would reach for a book on a higher shelf, exposing her lower back and stomach, or get really excited when informing a customer about a book she liked, making it impossible for Piper to keep her hands off her. After being denied contact with Alex for so long, Piper needed to remind herself that Alex was hers again -had always been- by touching her all over.

Every day they spent crammed inside Alex's tiny apartment made Piper's love for her grow even more. It was tiny things, like how Alex always offered to do the dishes, even if she was the one who had cooked, or how she liked to always be covered with a blanket while watching TV, or the way she wrapped her limps around Piper in her sleep, afraid that otherwise, the blonde would disappear. This girl -this woman- managed to still be the same Alex Vause whose councilor Piper had been, yet be completely different. Someone who hadn't been as close to her as the blonde was when she was young, would mistake her for a completely different person.

She had turned out into a responsible and wonderful young lady who despite remaining too serious for her age, managed to be polite and pleasant to everyone she interacted with, from staff to customers to simple strangers. Piper felt her heart swell with pride knowing that she had helped Alex grow into this amazing person.

Nevertheless, nothing gold can stay. After a month and a half, Piper was starting to get restless. She had made it very clear to Alex that staying here would only be a temporary solution while they looked for a new place. Well, maybe she hadn't been crystal clear, but she had unquestionably implied it and was certain that the brunette had gotten the message.

They were watching TV late in the evening when Piper decided to bring it up. "Babe?"

"Huh?" Alex asked, not bothering to take her eyes off the screen.

"So, I had been thinking..." She started, waiting for her fiance to turn and face her. Alex barely nodded, apparently too invested in what she was watching. It's a fucking reality show, Piper thought grumpily, She prefers watching a bunch of idiots flirt and argue with each other than talking to me. Perhaps domestic life had put a strain on their relationship but Piper had been too blind to notice. The realization made her wonder where else their relationship might have a problem.

"You were saying something, weren't you?" Alex asked, noticing the long pause during which the blonde had gotten lost in her thoughts.

Yes, how kind of you to notice, she thought but instead said, "Yes. Yes, I was. Could you turn off the TV for a moment?"

The brunette frowned but didn't argue. Reaching for the remote control she asked, "Is something wrong?"

"No." The blonde said quickly and then proceeded to correct herself, "Well, not exactly." Having Alex looking at her expectantly, Piper declared, "I think we should start looking for a new place."

"What's wrong with this one?"

"Nothing." Said the blonde, doing her best to avoid hurting Alex. She had been renting this place with her own legal money for some years now and she was very tied to the place. Piper loved that about Alex which was why she had put off this conversation for so long. She didn't want to pressure Alex, but sadly it seemed like there was no other way.

"Then why do we have to get a new one?"

"Because this is your place." Piper said, suddenly feeling petulant and immature. Seeing pain twist Alex's features made her want to puke; the last thing she wanted was to upset her. However, honesty was the most important foundation of a relationship. If they couldn't tell each other the truth without being afraid, their relationship might as well be over.

"That's only because you feel like that." Alex said defensively, crossing her arms. "I've done everything in my power to make you feel welcome, Pipes."

"I know." She really had. She had asked on several occasions if the blonde would like to redecorate or change anything and hadn't complained when Piper had brought over all her things from Larry's place, placing them all over the apartment. Alex had been perfect. It was Piper who was being the unreasonable asshole, as usual. "It's just that you already have too many memories in this place. Wouldn't you like a brand new place, where we could fill it with our memories?"

Alex scoffed, rolling her eyes. "I should have guessed that was it. You are jealous." When Piper didn't even try to deny it, Alex let out a dry and humorless laugh. "You know, we've been apart for ten years. We've both had relationships with other people. You got married."

"Yeah, well, you don't have to sleep in the bed where I fucked Larry, do you?" When had she started shouting?

"We can get a new bed if that's your problem." Alex despite keeping her voice down, didn't bother to conceal her irritation.

"It's not just the bed."

"Okay. I'll throw away everything I've had sex on. Happy now?"

"Could you stop being sarcastic and try to be serious for one second?"

"I don't know? Can you stop being a complete asshole?"

"Why is it so strange for me to want us to get our own place?" Piper asked, her voice breaking without her meaning to. If they couldn't agree on this, what was going to happen? Could Piper give in and spend the rest of her life in this tiny apartment. Should she?

"Because we can't afford it." The brunette sighed, looking embarrassed to have to admit it.

"That's the problem?"

"Yes, Piper. That's the problem. I know you are used to money not being an issue, but for me, it has been a constant struggle from the day I was born." Were those tears in Alex's eyes or was it just the reflection from her glasses?

"Alex..." The blonde said softly reaching for her fiance. When the latter didn't pull away, Piper drew her in, embracing her tightly. "I love you. I don't care about money. If I did, I would have stayed with Larry."

"You think you don't. But when you realize how much from your previous life you are missing out on you are going to hate me." Alex whispered, sniffling in between words. It made Piper hold her even closer and press a kiss on her head.

"I could never hate you. And I would never choose my previous life over this because then I didn't have you. And you matter to me more than anything in this world. Trust me, having to spend a decade without you made me realize that money is worthless if you don't have love."

"Still, I want to be able to provide for you." Alex broke their embrace so she could look at Piper. "If I had remained a drug dealer I could have offered you the world."

"Don't say that." Piper said sternly. "I don't want you to think like that ever again." She waited until Alex mouthed okay to continue. "Hearing that you owned a bookstore made me the happiest woman in the world."

"Really? Wouldn't owning Barnes and Noble have been more impressive? Because I was working my way towards buying it but you had to come and find me too early."

Piper smiled and kissed Alex. "I can wait; we have all the time in the world. Once you tie the knot with me, you aren't getting rid of me that easily."

"Well, then, I'll have to rethink marrying you." Alex teased, laughing when Piper swatted her.

"So, can we at least look for houses and start considering it?"

"Okay."

Not hearing the brunette, Piper continued, "Just so we know what to expect and what we'll need to do."

"Pipes, I said okay."

"Really?"

"Really."

"I love you." Piper informed Alex in between kisses.

"I love you too."
