It hurt.

The pain and ridicule.

The abuse and bullying.

The name calling and the sneers.

Deku.

That was the name they kept calling me.

Deku.

That was the name I chose to answer by.

I'm no hero.

No one would acknowledge me.

No one would support me.

No one would help me.

Deku is the name of a villain wronged by the world.

Deku is the name of a villain pushed to the brink of madness by a childhood friend.

Deku is the name of a villain whose dreams were shattered by All Might's words.

Izuku Midoriya is the worthless quirkless child born from a kind-warmhearted woman.

Izuku Midoriya is the worthless quirkless child whose dreams were never believed by his own mother.

Sensei is the savior of Izuku Midoriya when he tried to take a swan dive off the roof left on top of by All Might.

Tomura Shigaraki is the brotherly figure of Deku who cared for him and sheltered him from the world's hate.

All Might is the enemy of Deku because the so-called Symbol of Peace believes not having a quirk means you are useless and worthless.

Katsuki Bakugo is the enemy of Deku for he had bullied and abused his childhood friend Izuku Midoriya for eleven long years.

Japan's rotten quirkist society is the enemy of Deku for they enjoy abusing and hating the quirkless like him.

The life that I previously lived was like a chain around my neck. It grew tighter and tighter until… I'm left to hang.

For Izuku Midoriya was hung to death by the world cruel to a quirkless child.

Deku was born from Izuku's death.

Have fear… for Deku is here…

"Hey, Izu, whatcha doin'?" asks a curious Himiko Toga, looking over the sixteen year old's shoulder.

Izuku looked to her and gave a soft smile.

"Just writing something… getting things off my chest, Himi."

"Huh. Sounds like an interesting poem or drabble, Izu."

Izuku gave a soft chuckle.

"It helps me feel normal… otherwise I'd go insane…"

Himiko slips her arms around his neck, a tender embrace.

"I'm here for you, sweetie," she whispers lovingly into his ear.

"I know… I'm so lucky to have you in my life, Himiko Toga."

"You saved me, Izuku Midoriya…"

There's a knock at the open door, and the two teens glance over to see Dabi standing there.

"We got a meeting in the main room," said the lost son of the Todoroki family.

"Better see what Tomura wants, eh, Izu?"

"Yeah."

Izuku closed the notebook and stands up from his corner desk. He follows his girlfriend out of his bedroom, both following Dabi to the meeting room of their hideout they were currently living at. Izuku was holding hands with Himiko, who was leaning very close to him with a smile on her face. And Izuku was smiling as a result.

His old life was horrible.

His current life was wonderful.

He wouldn't trade his current life away, even if the world offered everything it had.

He would rather die a successful villain than die a worthless hero.
