FSOG: From Heartbreak to Happiness?

Chapter 55

(A few days have gone by and Christian was relieved that Jack and Elena were dealt with. Jack committed suicide and Elena was sent to a mental institution get help as it was clear she lost her mind. Christian didn't feel sorry for them one bit. The reason? Both of them put him and Anastasia through hell. Christian was happy that they got what they deserved. Now, everyone could finally move on in peace)

(Now that the danger was over with, there was no need to have a guard on the ladies anymore. Needless to say, Kate and Ana were ecstatic that, not only didn't they need any guards, but they could officially move back to their apartment. Christian admitted to himself that he was saddened that his girl was not living with him anymore. He enjoyed having Anastasia by his side all the time. He vowed to change that. In fact, he wanted to change that permanently. He loved Anastasia Rose Steele more than his own life and couldn't wait to make her his wife. He lovingly wanted to make sure Ana was his forever)

(Christian signals for Taylor, who is across the room talking to Ros and Sawyer, to come to him. After Taylor excuses himself, he walks to his boss)

Taylor: "Yes, Mr. Grey?"

Christian: "I want to plan a surprise party here for Anastasia. An engagement party."

(A smile creeps up on Taylor's face as he speaks)

Taylor: (nods) "Miss Steele will not only love that, but she'll be caught off-guard, too, as she won't be expecting it." (slightly moves his face) "Or will she?"

Christian: "In a way, she will be. I asked Kate for permission as I know they're close. She graciously gave it to me as she knows I adore Ana. As far as I know, Ana's not close with her parents. I thought about contacting them, but I don't want to dredge up any bad memories incase I'm right."

Taylor: (shakes his head) "If I were you, I wouldn't, either. Did Kate give you any inclination that Anastasia was close with her parents?"

Christian: "No. She never brought them up."

Taylor: "Then I wouldn't, either. Who are you going to invite?"

Christian: "Gail, Kate, Elliot, Sawyer, Mia, Carrick, Grace, you, and Ros."

Taylor: (nods & smiles) "I appreciate the invite."

(Christian taps Taylor on the shoulder)

Christian: "It wouldn't be the same without you here, Jason. I'm going to have the party here tomorrow night and I'm hoping to make things official with my girl. Truth be told, I've been wanting to make things official for a while now. But, I didn't want Ana or Kate to think I was moving too fast."

Taylor: (chuckles) "True. In the end, you didn't."

Christian: "I'm going to make Shrimp Scampi for everyone right now and then I'm sure everyone will be going home. I'll take Ana and Kate home."

(After Christian makes supper for everyone, they chow down. Christian couldn't help but get hard in his jeans when he heard Ana moan from pleasure at the delicious meal in front of her. Everyone thanked Christian for the awesome dish. Before Christian brought Kate and Ana home, Christian announced to everyone in the room that he was having a small party tomorrow night and everyone was invited. He then said something was happening, but wouldn't say what. A few guests couldn't help but wonder what was going on. Christian walks to Kate and Ana)

Christian: "You ladies ready to head back to your place?"

Kate: (nods) "Yes."

Ana: (nods in confusion) "Yeah, but...what's going on? Is there something I should know about regarding tomorrow?"

Christian: (chuckles) "You'll know soon enough, baby. You don't have to dress up in anything fancy. But if you come in your everyday clothes, you'll feel out of place."

Kate: "I kind of figured you'd say that, Grey."

(Ana looks at Kate and speaks in a puzzled tone)

Ana: "Do you know what's going on tomorrow?"

Kate: (shrugs) "I have a hunch. Don't worry, Steele. You'll be fine."

(Christian drives the women home and then goes back to his home office where he talks to his father)

Christian: "I wanted to thank you for looking out for my company, father."

Carrick: "You're very welcome, son. How much longer do you need me to do it? Like I've said from the beginning, I'll do it as long as you need me to."

Christian: "Can you do it for a few more days? Is there anything I need to know about?"

Carrick: I sure can and nope, you're all good. I have everything under control. I'm so proud of you, son."

Christian: "Thank you, father. I am inviting you, mom, Elliot, and Mia to a small party I'm hosting tomorrow."

Carrick: "Oh? Is something special happening?"

Christian: "There is, indeed. I'm going to ask Anastasia to marry me. I just hope she says yes."

Carrick: (smiles) "I'm happy for you, son. I'm sure she will. I can tell the way she was with you tonight and lately, she adores you." (chuckles) "She'll give you a run for your money."

Christian: (nods) "I would gladly give it all up in a heartbeat if it meant I could have her by my side."

Carrick: "Something tells me you don't need to give it all up as she'll be by your side in the end, anyways. You two love each other. I'm glad you two have each other."

Christian: "Me, too."

***Next Day***

(It is the day of the party and Christian was nervous like a school boy. Taylor couldn't help but chuckle at his boss's expense. Christian narrowed his eyes and warned his bodyguard that he'd get him back for Taylor poking fun at him. Elliot came by and asked if there was anything he could do to help. Christian put Elliot to work on some decorations. The brothers did some of the things together as Christian could tell there was something on Elliot's mind)

Christian: "Alright, Elliot, spill."

Elliot: (confused) "Spill what?"

Christian: "It's obvious there's something on your mind. What's wrong?"

Elliot: (nervously) "I want to ask Kate something, but I don't know if I'm going too fast."

Christian: (tilts his head) "Are you going to ask her to marry you?"

Elliot: (eyes widen) "No! God, no! We're not even living together yet, Chris!" (sighs) "No, I've been

wanting to ask her for weeks if she'd want to move in with me. If my place is too small, then we could find a bigger place for the both of us."

Christian: "Gotcha. You've exchanged 'I love you's', right?"

Elliot: (nods) "Yes. To get even more personal, we've even made love for the first time. But I want to wake up next to her every morning and go to bed with her every night."

Christian: "I feel the same about Ana. In fact, after I ask her to marry me, I'm hoping she'll move in with me. As for you, I don't think you're going too fast. You're going at the right speed."

Elliot: "Thanks, bro."

(The brothers and Taylor finish setting up the decorations for later that night. Kate and Ana are at their apartment getting ready. Kate is wearing a black strapless dress that goes just above her knees. She has her hair in a ponytail and is wearing small hoop earrings with sparkly lip gloss. For shoes, she has three inch black high heels on. As for Ana, she is wearing a red dress with spaghetti straps that falls just above her knees. Her hair is in a bun and she's wearing dangling earrings with red make-up. For her lips, it's matching red lipstick and red high heels, as well)

(Ana couldn't help but be curious on what the party was all about. She had ideas, though, what was going on. She looks at her ring finger and hopes by the end of the night there would be an engagement ring on it. Kate saw that Ana was in a daze and goes to her best friend)

Kate: "You okay?"

Ana: "Do you know what Christian has planned for tonight?"

Kate: (raises her eyebrows) "Do you want me to spoil it for you?"

Ana: (shakes her head) "No. Whatever it is, I'm sure I'll Iove it. I hope it's what I think it is."

Kate: (smiles) "Hold on to your instincts, Steele. They will never steer you wrong."

Ana: "Is Taylor picking us up?"

Kate: (nods) "Yep. He should be here..." (looks at her watch) "...anytime."

(All of a sudden, there's a knock at the front door. Kate goes to answer it, revealing Taylor. She lets him in)

Taylor: (nods) "Hello, ladies."

Kate: "Hi, Taylor."

Ana: "Hi, Taylor. Christian waiting for us?"

Taylor: "Yes, ma'am. It should be a party either of you will never forget."

(Kate couldn't help but wonder why Taylor mentioned her. She decided to let it go for now and just see how the night went. After arriving at Christian's condo, Christian sees his girl and smiles lovingly. She looked so damn beautiful. And the best part of all? She was all his. He was lucky as hell. He took her hand whisked her away a few feet away so they could have some privacy)

Christian: "You look simply divine, baby. If we were alone, I'd have my way with you right now."

Ana: (chuckles) "That sounds very tempting. If we were alone, there are things I'd definitely do with you."

Christian: (raises his eyebrows) "There's always later tonight, Miss Steele."

Ana: (innocently blinks) "There is indeed, Mr. Grey. I can't wait."

(Elliot, who was already at Christian's place, goes to Kate and kisses her on the lips)

Elliot: (smiles) "You look absolutely gorgeous, babe."

Kate: (grins) "You don't look so bad yourself, Grey."

(Everyone arrives for the party. Grace tries to fix Elliot's tie, who annoyingly tries to stop her and tells her he looks okay. Carrick and Christian compare notes on the company while Mia and Ana have some bonding moments. Kate chats with Gail. Everyone eats and engages in small talk and enjoys some light classical music. After about an hour, Christian gets everyone's attention and then speaks)

Christian: "Thank you all for coming tonight. I'm sure you are all wondering why you are here. Well, I've been planning something for a few weeks and I'm finally able to complete it tonight."

(Christian looks at Anastasia and offers his hand to her)

Christian: "Anastasia, would you please come next to me?"

(Ana smiles as she walks to her beau and rests her hand in his. As he speaks, he doesn't take his eyes off of her. The crowd is silent as Christian talks)

Christian: "Anastasia Rose Steele, you are the love of my life. You complete me in ways I never dreamed of. Without you next to me, I would be lost. I want to grow old with you and have children with you. I want to have forever with you."

(The crowd softly gasps as Christian gets down on one knee and takes out the black box out of his suit jacket. He opens the box to reveal the stunning engagement ring. He offers his hand to Ana, which she immediately rests hers in)

Christian: "I love you so much, baby. Will you please do me the honor of becoming my wife and spending forever with me?"

(Tears of joy fall down Ana's cheeks as she laughs happily and nods)

Ana: Yes! Yes! Nothing would make me happier than becoming your wife, Christian Grey! I love you, too!"

(Christian slides the ring on Ana's ring finger, then he stands up and passionately kisses his bride-to-be while everyone claps. The newly engaged couple break free and face their guests. Kate goes to Ana and the best friends embrace)

Ana: "So, I'm going to guess that was the thing you were hinting that you didn't want to spoil for me."

Kate: "Affirmative. Christian asked me not to say anything, although I wanted to. But, it was for a good cause."

Ana: "That it was. Thank you for always being there for me, Kavanagh."

Kate: (smiles) "Anything for you, Steele."

(They share another hug before Kate goes back to Elliot and Ana goes back to Christian's waiting arms. Elliot asks Kate to dance, which she agrees to)

Elliot: "Have I told you how exquisite you look tonight?"

Kate: (giggles) "I'll never grow tired of hearing it. You look sexy as well."

Elliot: (nervously) "I-I have a question for you."

Kate: (chuckles weirdly) "Why are you so anxious all of a sudden?"

Elliot: "Because I'm hoping your answer isn't a 'no', but a 'yes' to my question."

Kate: (tenderly) "I hope you know you never have to be nervous around me, Grey. I love you."

(Elliot briefly lowers his head as he chuckles before facing his soulmate)

Elliot: "My question for you is...Kate Kavanagh, would you do me privilege of moving in with me? If my place isn't big enough, we can find a bigger place. I don't care. I want to wake up next to you every morning and see your beautiful face before I go to bed every night. What do you say?"

(Kate laughs happily as she kisses her man before answering him)

Kate: "I would absolutely love to move in with you, Elliot Grey! Nothing would give me greater joy!"

(They share a warm embrace before joining the rest of the gang again. Everyone was happy and it was going to be a good night)
