Sunlight shined through the curtains of her windows, waking her up with the warmth of glares shooting over her eyelids. Lucy slowly opened her eyes, revealing a pair of chocolate pools that seemed so deep and one might drown if they stared long enough. She gets that comment a lot and decided to just accept it as a compliment from the people. She blinked twice, trying to make her vision adjust faster and once everything looked clear, she hopped out her bed, tidied up her room and went to the bathroom to do her morning routine. It wouldn't be long for Porlyusica to come calling for her to eat and be on her way to sell the new set of flowers and deliver herbs to the shops in the town.

Lucy lazily dragged herself around the bathroom, slipped out from her nightgown and proceeded to do her morning routine. She was already done from her bath and was now brushing her long locks in front of the mirror when she heard her mother's voice, telling her to come down and eat so she can go.

"Coming mother!" Lucy shouted from her seat and then set her hairbrush down. Then she stepped out of the room after gathering the things she'll be needing. Of course, one of them was her favourite rosy gold receptacle where she'll be putting all her earnings for the day. She hoped to at least sell half of the flowers she'll be carrying around the town. Though for some reason, why she was almost sure that all her flowers will be sold today?

The lassie was welcomed by her mother in the dinner table, food already set on its surface. She plopped on a chair and happily dig into her food.

"You're in a good today, Lucy. Is there a reason?" Porlyusica asked, taking a sip on her mug.

"Oh, nothing much mother! I just got this feeling that I'll earn a lot today" She beamed at the older woman.

"Since when did you become intuitive my child?" The rosy haired inquired once more.

"You wouldn't believe how many times I've been saved because of my clairvoyance, mother" She giggled but immediately felt the changes of the air around her. Porlyusica was now looking at her directly in the eyes. She stopped her laughter and gave her mother a puzzled expression. It somehow scared her every time that the old woman would look at her like that. it's as if she had committed a horrible crime.

"You're not practicing sorcery, are you?"

"I am not, mother!" Lucy quickly retorted. She knew that Porlyusica was the one to think too much when magic came into the topic.

The old woman stared at her for a while before sighing "Very well."

She stood up, placed the basket in Lucy's hands then shooed her out of the door. The blonde lassie stayed still on her spot while blinking, confused about the action of her mother. Her bewilderment soon died out and she started her stroll towards the town she loved so much, Magnolia. The town is known for its beautiful rainbow cherry blossoms tree. The smile on her face widened while on her way. Today was looking great for her.

First, her gut was still telling her that she'll manage to sell her flowers. all of it. and second, was the fact that her mother had somehow didn't got angry at her even if she mistook Lucy to be associated with magic again. She was not, but sometimes, her mother's action and reaction to any kind of sorcery would left the blonde in confusion. Why was the old woman so afraid of her being close to wizardly things?

But then, she's her mother and she couldn't bring herself to question the woman who took care of her since birth. Lucy knew Porlyusica only wanted her to be safe and that's why she was keeping Lucy away from what she thinks is harmful to her child. That's probably all the reason for it and nothing more.

A smile stretched across the beautiful blonde's face. She was thankful that she's got a caring mother. Not everyone was blessed to have a mother like Porlyusica. A gentle and kind but scary mom sometimes.

Lucy skipped and hum throughout her journey to the town, enjoying the little peace and silence surrounding her before she reached her destination. The birds were even harmonizing their sounds to her tune. It was barely even a minute, but she felt like she was some kind of a princess from the children's novels that she used to read. The one who would sing with the birds and even talk to them. That made her wonder if true princesses have that ability? They're full mystery for a commoner like her.

"I wonder how it feels like to be a royalty?" She pondered aloud "To live in a palace without the need to wake up early every day and earn for a living?" She giggled soon after. Imagining herself as a princess could not look more ridiculous. The idea just doesn't sit right with her. But if someone were to ask her what if she's really a princess then she'll be someone that's more than just a pretty girl who wore pretty dresses and shining crown. She wanted to be the princess who would help her people in need and will be willing to play with children under the burning heat of the sun in the afternoon sky or swim with them in a muddy swamp, where frogs and other animals could jump at them. She wouldn't mind dirtying her dress or getting laughed at by other royalties. All she would care about was the happiness of her people.

However, all of it was just inside her head. There's no way that a florist like her would someday wake up as the daughter of a king. Even in her wildest dream, that wouldn't be possible.

The sound of people and wagons passing by soon reached her ears and that's when she knew she was in the town. The busy crowd didn't notice her arrival at all unlike the other day where they have bombarded her from left to right and back to front just to buy flowers. She slightly trembled thinking about the day for the hearts. There are other shops who sell flowers but the flowers she was selling were in great demand because it's the best out of all. She's quite proud of that fact.

"Good morning flower girl! Is the herb I requested to Porlyusica with you? I'll be needing that to make some medicine" Finally, someone acknowledged her existence. Lucy quickly looked for the herbs he sought and nodded with a smile upon receiving the payment for the plants she had handed over. She then moved into another stall, delivering another set of herbal plants. It didn't take long for it to be gone from her basket. The only things left were the flowers that remained untouched. It looks like no was interested to buy them today.

"Mou, I thought I'll really sell all these beautiful flowers" Lucy sighed. But she wasn't the one to give up easily! Regaining her determination, she smiled to herself "Don't worry flowers! I'll make sure to sell you all!"

And off she goes, aimlessly walking around the town. Some people bought the lovely blossoms in her basket but they were only very few and she was starting to get exhausted and hungry. It was already noon and the sun was not helping her feel a little better at all. The heat was gradually making her uncomfortable. She was sweating.

Despite her growling stomach, she still wanted to sell the flowers, refusing it to go to waste. She kept walking and walking, unaware of the two pair of eyes watching her every move.

She continued to saunter on the town's pavement and didn't realize that she had already reached a part of the municipality that she was not familiar with. Lucy stopped on her tracks, looking around the area in hope of finding her way back to where she came from but she was lost. Real lost. She wanted to scold herself for being so careless.

Everywhere she'd look, there's nothing to see but empty buildings and closed doors. Not a single soul was passing by in the streets too. The area seemed dead and she was the only living thing there. Or so she thought.

"Hey lady" A man spoke from behind her and there's something about the tone of his voice that the lassie didn't like. She slowly turned her heels around to face the one who called her. He is dangerous. Or should say they are dangerous? There are two men in front of her. Both wearing a heavy smirk. She could tell they're about to do something bad. Bad to her.

Should she fight or make a run for it? Porlyusica taught her the basic of self-defence and how to hold a sword but she never really thought she'll be needing to wield a weapon ever in her life up until this point. She regretted thinking that nothing could ever harm her as long as she stayed kind and away from trouble. Never she expected that trouble would be the one to knock on her door.

She scanned the man's face and build and she could tell that it'll be hard to fight him in hand to hand combat. Especially that there's two of them. They're physically fit. With her knowledge, she could conclude that she'll be able to take down one of them but she wasn't sure about the other. There's too much risk so the best choice she has was to just run. But somehow, even if her mind had already decided to just dash out from the scene, her feet wouldn't budge and she glared at the man.

"What do you want?" She inquired but only received a laugh from the man in question.

The moment that the guy took a step towards her, she threw the basket full of flowers at the two individuals, not caring if the thorns from the roses would stab their eyes or wound their skin. Why should she care about them when they probably have disrespected woman multiple times already? It's time to take revenge for them! She heard the man yelp and charged forward, he was too open that Lucy was able to easily land a kick on his stomach. He heard him groan in pain, holding his abdomen and the other man joined in the fight too.

"You little!" The second guy growled in anger, charging at Lucy. He was throwing punches towards the girl in a speed she didn't expect but thankfully, she was able to dodge them all. However, while she was busy evading his attack, the first guy found a perfect chance to take action too. This time, with a dagger in hand. He was extremely angry. Before the sharp blade could even touch Lucy's porcelain skin, someone grabbed the man's arm, stopping his assault.

Two hooded figure arrived at the scene. The guy holding the man's trembling arm growled and he tightened his hold around the arm of the pitiful man. The bad guy tried swinging his weapon to attack the hooded person but cried out in pain when his arm was suddenly set on fire. Lucy wasn't expecting more guys to show up. She was panicking that she couldn't even tell that two new guys who had just appeared came for her aid. It alarmed her more when she saw that one of the guys can use magic. She gathered all her strength and started counting to three and then fled out from the scene.

"Nice, the flower girl is gone. Should we go all out?" The other guy spoke, taking off his hood to reveal a spiky colored dark hair and dark blue eyes. The changes in temperature are hard not notice for the two trembling men, now on the floor staring at the newly arrived mages.

"Hell yeah. I'm all fired up" The one with fire magic declared.

After that, girly screech from the two bad guys was to be heard around the area and later on rushed away with their clothes burnt and nearly freezing skin.

Back to Lucy, the girl was now leaning against a wall, trying to catch her breath. Her heartbeat wasn't back to its normal pace yet and it was hard to breathe. Lucy made a mental note not to recklessly act again just because she was angry. She's got lucky that none of the guys has decided to follow her but she doubted she'll have that fortune again.

The sound of footsteps approaching her direction made her hold her breath as she prepared for a possible attack. It could be just a random passerby but there's no way she would let her guard down now. The steps went closer and closer and then-

"Yo flower gi-" She cut the man's words when she kicked him where the sun never shines, sending him flying to the ground few feet away from her.

"Damn it Natsu! How could you take a blow from her!!" the familiar ravenette came into her view and her mouth dropped open upon realizing who was the man she just kicked.

She stood there awkwardly as Gray helped the pinkette up. She felt guilty for kicking the guy.

"A-awesome" Natsu gave her a thumbs up, grinning at her to hide the pain.

"I-I'm sorry! I didn't...I thought you were the guys that I-" She couldn't even think of the right words to explain her actions.

"You mean those guys that almost stabbed you?" Gray interrupted.

She blinked, tilting her head to the side in confusion "Stab me?"

She could see Gray nod his head and pointed at the pinkette who was still trying his best to smile and hide his suffering. She could tell by his eyes that he was in a lot of pain though. She was about to apologize when the ravenette spoke again "They were about to knife you but this idiot right here saved your cute butt even before that"

"Don't talk about her behind like that!" The pinkette snapped.

"I didn't mean it that way! Put your mind in the right gutter, jeez!"

There they go again. Lucy sighed as she watched the two argue like a bunch of kids. Still, she felt bad for kicking the guy who saved her life.

"I'm really sorry, Sir Natsu" Lucy said softly, bowing at the two guys and stopped their fight. Natsu was the one to step forward and gave her a flick on the forehead. She stood properly and silently hissed at the pain while she stared at the man in confusion.

"That's for being an idiot and trying to stand against two men way bigger stronger than you" He said that looking serious but soon, the corner of his lips started curling up, he smiled "And if you really wanted to be forgiven, I've got one condition"

"S-sure? What is it?" She asked, still looking at him. For some reason, she couldn't tear her gaze away from his onyx eyes. They're really pretty and mysterious.

"Go on a date with me!"

She blinked and Gray blinked at the pinkette's statement. The ravenette recovered quicker and he looked at his friend in disbelief "Do you even know what that means?"

The pinkette answered without much of a thought. He was even grinning brightly "Well yeah? Date is where you go out with friends and eat, right?"

The girl and the knight both sweatdropped.

"What? Come on now flower girl! I'll even pay for the flowers you abandoned earlier!" The pinkette added.

A/N : Yo! Azri speaking! I didn't expect that someone will actually read the lame stuff I write. I truly appreciate you all and your reviews! It helps me build up my confidence! c:
