Thanks so much to Seafoam Green under Twilight, Cutetyhil, Black Witch of autumn and Emerald Vivienne Ramira Mayvin for reviewing the last chapter. Here comes the chapter for which you all were waiting eagerly (Or not? :P).

So...enjoy! :D

Propping her chin against her sprawled elbows on the knob of the wooden sofa, the sky-blue haired teenager was silently sitting there. Before a few hours, her brother had been arrested, alleged with the murder of her own crush. All her tears had already dried. Only her cerise auburn eyes were saying that she'd wept a lot once upon a time on the day. Even their mother was also busy with her own chores. She didn't get a chance to speak with her. The schoolgirl didn't understand why Misaki was behaving as if nothing had happened to her son. Ayaka felt that something was suspicious. Misaki was always concerned of both her children. She could never behave that abnormally, let the world turn against.

"Ding-dong! Ding-dong"!

The doorbell rang as the female blunette rushed to the doorway and opened the gate, only to be amazed at the sight of a familiar brunette who stepped in her darkness-smeared life like a sunbeam. Her dazed eyes lit like 100-watt bulbs as she almost glomped on her, "Miss Hilary!"

"Ayaka!" The chocolate-haired girl hugged her back with equal force, "How're you?"

The question couldn't please the teenager. Not answering, she gently pulled the hand of the brunette in, "Come in and sit, Miss Hilary. We're meeting after a long time. Mom, look who's come!"

Hilary felt that something was wrong with the ladies as the raven-haired woman couldn't be also seen around. Hesitating, she sat on a couch. After an inhalation, she spoke, "You know, Ayaka, today, my mood is not good at all."

"Why?" The blunette asked, "What happened, Miss Hilary?"

"I've lost one of my closest friends," Hilary pressed her nose together with her palms, "You know, despite trying again and again, I cannot forget his sweet and innocent face. I-I could never have imagined that he would leave us in this way forever, making us weep, Ayaka."

Again, Ayaka felt a throne pricking her heart. Gulping, she asked the brunette straightly, "Miss Hilary, may I know his name?"

"Tyson Granger," The university-girl heaved, "3rd year, department of EEE. Though we weren't from the same department, we were so close. Whenever I was depressed, I straightly used to go to him. He never knew what depression is. You know, even when he was breathing his last, he was smiling. Have you ever…."

The auburn-head carried on but her words weren't entering the ears of the schoolgirl. When she heard the name, a shiver spanned her spine. The navy-haired guy had been like a mirage of an oasis to her. Despite wanting him a lot, she could never have got him. Unwantedly, a sob escaped from her throat as she hugged the brunette, shocking her. Startled, the elder girl stopped talking and questioned, "What happened, Ayaka? Are you okay?"

"Ty…Tyson…" She wept bitterly, "You know, Miss Hilary, he was my crush. I-I adored and loved him so much but never got a chance to express the feelings of my heart. He…he…"

With her surprised eyes, Hilary stared at the blunette who was crying in her embrace. She felt sorry for her. Student politics was very cruel after all, crushing the dreams of a young, fresh and innocent girl. She trembled because the person residing in her heart was also engaged very actively in it even though it was only for the betterment of the students and teachers of their university. She patted the back of the sweet-sixteen for comforting her.

"Don't cry, sweetheart," Hilary nonchalantly murmured, "This is the fate. It shouldn't be in our favor always. But…how did you know Tyson?"

"He-he was the junior of my brother," Ayaka sniffed, "He was in the same department of ni-san. For departmental festivals, Olympiads, competitions and other activities-he used to visit our house. But…he…he'll never come…."

Again, covering her face under her palms, the sky blue-haired girl sniffled. Hilary gently caressed her head but let her shed tears. While showering them, Ayaka added, "Not only that, my brother's name is in the list of the suspects of his murder. The police arrested him for interrogation. God knows how he is now…."

"Your brother…as a suspect?" Hilary gulped, "Who's your brother?"

"Hilary?"

At the masculine pitch, both the girls glanced at the open door where the dual-haired half-Russian was standing, confused and surprised to see his girlfriend in his house. His forehead gained a dark-blue bump, wrists turned blue. A small bruise was sticking to his lip. He was sweating like hell. Even his breaths were not that much stable. He was surely fatigued after the heavy dose of torture inflicted on him by the cops. His heart was still jumping from the fear which he had faced in the interrogation room aka the torture cell. The sight of the brunette added more force to it. The university-girl's jaw dropped, knowing his identity.

"Ni-san!" Ayaka hurried towards the boy, followed by the elder girl and hugged him, "You've come back! Are you okay?!"

"Yeah…" He tiredly said, looking at the brunette, "What're you doing here, Hilary?"

"I…I…." Hilary didn't find the exact words, scratching her head confusedly. Looking at her, the female blunette spoke on behalf of her, "You know, ni-san, one day, Miss Hilary saved me and mom from a bunch of goons. From that day, we know each other. But….is Miss Hilary familiar to you, ni-san?"

"Hmm…." Kai lowered his head, so did his girlfriend with the pink tints all over their faces. Realizing the matter, even in her miserable state, a smile rose in the lips of the schoolgirl. For a moment, she forgot the pain of losing her own love interest, seeing the love between her brother and her idol.

"Hey, let your brother sit at first," Coughing, Hilary looked at the face of her lover which literally stabbed her heart though she controlled her tears, "He's exhausted. Bring some water for him."

"Sure thing, sister-in…ahem," Ayaka bit her tongue, "I mean, Miss Hilary. You both stay here; I'm bringing water for ni-san."

Flushing, the brunette sat beside the slate-haired boy and examined his injuries when the sky blue-haired reached the dining table for fetching water for her brother. The heart of the university-girl cried at his swollen forehead, bruised lips and the blue marks on his body where blood was clotted under his fair skin. But for his sake, she remained calm.

"Now, tell me," The brunette demanded, "What did the cops do to you?"

"Nothing special…." Kai replied, "They are natural."

"Listen," Hilary placed a leg on another, "You cannot hide anything from me, Kai. I can clearly see that you're hurt. Let me take you to doctor."

"No need…" The VP shook his head, "I'm fine."

"Don't need to act a hero before me, okay?" Her rubies glittered with tears but she didn't let them fall, "I can feel whatever happens to you, Kai. Ever since Tyson breathed his last, you haven't enjoyed a single wink of sleep-the dark circles under your eyes are telling me that. You were busy all along the chores and rituals. When the time of rest came, the police caught you and tortured you to no end. But…"

After performing silence for a few seconds, she again opened her mouth, "But they couldn't hold you back. Despite trying a lot, they must have failed to make you give a fake confession. I knew, my Kai could never be a murderer. He's innocent."

"Your trust is enough for me, Hil." Kai weakly smiled.

"Oh really?" A third feminine voice commented, "But his possession says something else, Hilary!"

The three young people turned their heads to the elder lady who was gritting her teeth, holding a black 9mm pistol. Kai's eyes got stuck there as his heart skipped a beat. How had his mother found the gun from his closet?

"The person who possesses an illegal firearm," Misaki approached her son with the gun, "Can do every possible crime in this world."

"Kai?" Hilary questioningly glared at him, "Is this pistol yours?"

"Yes," Not hesitating, keeping his eyes at hers, he replied to Misaki's query, "But it doesn't mean that I've murdered Tyson. It's only your misunderstanding, mom."

"Shut up!" His mother yelled, "Why have you kept an illegal firearm with you? What are the purposes?"

"For political purposes." Kai answered.

"Your father was also a renowned politician," Misaki argued, eyeing the framed photograph of her dead husband on the wall once, "At that time, the circumstances were worse than today's in this country. But he never felt the necessity of keeping a firearm, let alone an illegal weapon.

"That time was way different from the current time, mom." Her son remarked.

"No, it wasn't different," Misaki objected, "That time, this country was independent, so is it today. You've forgotten, Kai, you've forgotten the fact that you're the child of martyr Susumu Hiwatari."

"Mom!" Hilary rushed to the raven-haired woman, "The son of a martyr can never commit such a heinous crime! Please, have faith on him."

"Then, it's your duty to prove his innocence, Hilary," The frustrated mother gave up, "But tell him not to show his face to me until it's proved that he's innocent!"

Throwing the pistol on the ground which reached Kai's toes, Misaki stormed in her own room. Her daughter ran behind her to comfort her. Picking up the gun, Hilary kept examining it with her eyes as her boyfriend tiredly slumped on the couch, not able to take the weight of so much disbelief of his own mom. It was hurting him more than the punches and kicks at his guts and jaw launched by the cops. He could tolerate physical pain, not the pangs of skepticism.

"Kai, relax," The brunette gently squeezed his shoulders, "I've full faith on you. I know that you can never commit such a crime."

Now, he couldn't tell her that her trust was enough for him. She brought the glass of water from the table which Ayaka had forgotten to give him and handed him. Taking it, he sipped a few times from it, disappointed and exhausted.

"Now listen," Hilary patted his head, "I don't know from where you have got this gun but tomorrow, you'll go to return this to the person who gave you it. Even if you face any financial loss or something like that in return, you have to do it. Kai, you're a true hero and heroes don't need to protect themselves with guns. You have the strength, courage and willpower to save yourself along with your followers and students. Are you understanding my words?"

"Yeah." Kai tiredly nodded.

"Good boy," Hilary gently rested her head on his shoulder, "One more thing. Don't talk to mom now. She's so hurt at this moment; she needs the time to understand that you're innocent. I'm sure that she'll realize it because I'm right by your side always. At any cost, I'll prove it that you aren't guilty. Give her some time, okay?"

"You're right, Hil," Kai breathed, "Perhaps, I should wait a bit."

"But I cannot wait here, you know," The brunette chuckled, standing up, "It's been night, I have to return home now. See you in the campus tomorrow. Good night."

"Good night," The slate-haired smiled, "Stay safe."

"Same to you." Giving him a gentle yet passionate hug and a kiss on his forehead, the girl went out. As she departed, after taking some sharp breaths, Kai went to his room. Getting fresh, changing into his tee and tracks, he lay down on his bed. The night deepened eventually but he could not sleep. The muscles were aching but it didn't cause his sleeplessness. His heart which ached more than his body snatched his siesta from his eyelids. Though his girlfriend was by his side, he wasn't sure whether she alone could free him from the fake allegation and the suspicion of his mother or not. Sighing, he turned off the lights.

In the next morning, he got up very early. Washing his hands and face and getting ready, he got out for the university, intending to have his breakfast at the canteen. The vacation was going on but he had to go there for managing some important tasks just like trying to gather the CCTV footages and other proofs of that night. While leaving, he coughed once at the doorway but his mother just veered her eyes away from him, covering them behind the unfolded newspaper in her hands, let alone bidding him. Kai felt hurt again but he remembered the words of the brunette. Being patient, he exited.

But when he reached the campus, another big kick at his teeth was waiting for him. He saw the orange-haired notorious student leader leading a procession all around the premises, demanding death penalty for the VP. All his followers were holding festoons and placards, raising them high. Catchphrases against him in cursing words were written on them. Their loud pitches were deafening his ears, shushing the campus area completely. Specially the cartoons of the VP were made on the banners in the worst ways in this world. Some were holding his puppets which were burning. To Kai's horror, he saw several general students there too, joining Brooklyn and wanting death penalty for him with equal loudness in their voices. Their screeches spread all over the fields and buildings:

"Death penalty for VP!"

"Ban the VP!"

"We want justice for Tyson Granger!"

"Hang the VP, the murder of Tyson Granger!"

As the tangerine-head saw him, he stopped with the rally. A wicked smirk rose in his lips as he commented, "Take the name of the devil, the devil is present."

"What's going on here?" Kai asked, folding his arms closer to his chest.

"Looks like VP Sir has gone blind, people," Brooklyn tittered, "We're protesting against the murder of Tyson Granger so that his murderers are given death penalty."

"You know it far well who the real murderers of Tyson are," The VP's eyes showered flames at them, "Stop acting."

"Who is really acting?" Brooklyn pretended to fall from the sky, "Killing your junior is not a brave act, you know, VP Sir."

"Why are you all supporting this rally?" Kai had to raise his voice to the general students, "It is just encouraging the real murderers of Tyson."

"Why?" The orange-haired cocked a brow, "Are you feeling much encouraged, Kai? Students!"

With that sound, the pupils who had used to obey all Kai's orders and advice once upon a time and been ready to lay down their lives on the roads at the gestures of the VP, brought out ink-pots from their pockets and sprinkled the black liquid at the slate-haired boy, being totally brainwashed by the notorious student leader. Half of his pale face became tarnished with ink because of his turning away, dripping from his left cheek and soaking the collar of his purple shirt. Tala, Kane and Max weren't present there, otherwise, they would not hesitate once to turn Brooklyn into ashes. The slate-haired man felt as if the students had slapped on his face together. He viciously glared at them; his teeth gritted.

"Why're you feeling so much ashamed, VP Sir?" Brooklyn sarcastically questioned, "Where was your shamefulness when your hands were smeared with Tyson's blood?"

"Shut up!" Kai hissed, "You cannot accuse me without any proof and witness!"

"Everyone knows it in the campus that the knife using which Tyson was killed had your fingerprints," Shamelessly, the orange-head grinned, "And why're you hesitating so much to tell us the actual reason behind the rift with your junior? We all know that he had a physical relation with Ayaka but it doesn't mean…."

"Brooklyn!"

Before understanding anything, the orange-haired man felt a tight slap of the hand of the vice-president across his cheek which literally burnt his jawbones. Clenching his fangs, he glared at the slate-haired guy. However, the grin returned to his face as he thought to gain the advantage of the situation. Raising his voice, he blurted, "What are you seeing, people? The murderer of Tyson returned to the campus to commit another murder! Get him! Beat him to death!"

The students were so brainwashed that they didn't pay any heed to the weapons like hockey-sticks and stamps in the hands of the orangette and his group. Rather, they also picked up the arms and rushed towards the dual-haired. Seeing no other way, the VP also pulled his legs faster to be safe from them. The pistol was hidden in his pocket; he thought to use it once but didn't do it because of the promise made to Hilary. He didn't want to bring another stain of disgrace on his face. Already he'd been humiliated a lot. He wished he could have fought back but he chose escaping because the general students could also get hurt if he had a fight.

Leaving the campus area, the rally and the vice-president landed on the roads. Amidst the long chains of the buses, trucks and cars, the students were running. Behind the dual-haired, Brooklyn and his teammates were following him, raising their weapons in their hands still. The general students lost their ways along with the track of the VP due to excessive excitement but his sworn enemies didn't. The rally was just an excuse for them. In one way or another, Brooklyn and his gang only wanted the end of the half-Russian. That's why, they didn't call the other students back to accompany them.

Diagonally crossing the lines of the vehicles and street-shops, the slate-haired man kept sprinting, still haunted by his archenemies. Soon, they landed on a bridge beneath which a train was passing. Thumped by a lot of feet, the flyover started shaking violently as if it'd been about to break down anytime. The people remained dumbfounded, holding their breaths, seeing the chasing scene but Kai didn't have the time to notice it. He felt that his life was in his hands. Soon, it was going to collapse. Never in his life had he been so dishonored. Brooklyn also wasn't a person to give up that easily. At any cost, he wanted the scimitar in his hand to get reddened with Kai's blood.

Descending from the bridge, the learners scampered through the rail-tracks. Fortunately, no train was moving there. The passengers waiting in the platform gulped at the audacity of them but none understood the actual reason. Traversing the rail-line, they again landed on the main road. For the second time, penetrating the queues of transports and people, getting pushed and pulled, sweating hard which made the ink on his face melt and trickle down on his shirt, the VP took shelter in an abandoned butchery. As his head span behind, he saw Brooklyn and his teammates but not the general students. Sighing in relief, he decided to be back in the fight. Holding the scimitar-held hands of two, he jerked them as the scimitars got tossed away. Blowing at their guts and elbowing their backs, Kai threw them to the surface.

Brooklyn and Carlos came to hit Kai from behind but the VP clutched their wrists too, not giving them a chance. Then, he tossed them again beyond the shop. Another rushed and got kicked at his jaw by the dual-haired, collapsing on the bamboo caskets of rotten vegetables. Kneeing the chin of another, Kai progressed towards Brooklyn. Taking a stance, he presented a karate chop at his neck as the orange-head fell down once again. Thumping the hockey-stick twice on his back, the VP flung it away and came out of the shop, running. But the things didn't really stop there. When he looked back, he saw the orangette viciously chuckling at him, with a pistol in his hands pointed at him. again, Kai's heart wobbled in his chest. He also had a pistol but for the promise made to his girlfriend, he couldn't use it. Neither he could flee away, nor could he advance towards Brooklyn in order to fight him because there was quite a large distance between them. Anytime, the orangette could press the trigger. He was alone. There was no one to help him. Neither Tala, nor Kane, nor Max, nor even the beautiful chocolate-haired girl.

But he wasn't that unfortunate. No sooner had the fingers of the orangette been about to tap the trigger than an Audi made of bulletproof materials came there, grabbed the VP and dragged him in. The bullet couldn't give a single scratch to the body of the car as it moved again. Brooklyn and his gang raced behind it but due to its extreme speed and subtle movements, they couldn't catch it. Disappointed, stiffening their jaws, they kicked on the road and uttered curse words for Kai though they couldn't do any harm to him. Their deeds and sentences successfully went futile.

The feet of the dual-haired boy got some rest finally. Yet, they weren't motionless. He was silently walking with the editor as well as his mentor. Before a while, pulling him inside his car, he had saved his life. The shirt was clinging to his sweat-drenched body, dark circles became deeper under his eyes. The flickers of his bright amethyst orbs got dimmed. If any other person were in his shoes, he or she would simply break down in depression because of the trauma of past two days. Kai counted them in his mind. Losing Tyson, getting tortured by the police along with his teammates, caught in the hands of his mother who was suspecting him, humiliated in his own university campus before the general students…

All after receiving the gun from Boris.

"What would happen if I didn't reach there in time?" The purple-haired man entered his chamber along with the slate-haired boy, chiding him, "You could die! You could have been shot freaking dead!"

Kai wasn't listening to him. He was tired, crestfallen and befuddled. He didn't know how to react. He'd cleaned his face already but the humiliation was sticking to his blood. To him, his dignity was dearer than his life. The way how the general students had sprinkled ink at him and chased him to beat him was unforgettable.

"Where's your pistol?" Boris asked.

"Let the pistol go to hell!" Kai slapped on the table, making an outburst, "That gun couldn't save my life and it can never! I didn't launch a single bullet through that!"

Popping out the gun from his pocket, he kept it before Boris, "I don't want the pistol which breaks the trust of a mother! I don't want the weapon which turns almost the whole student body against me! I don't….I don't want the gun which….which smears my face with the fake allegation and disgrace of murdering my own junior! I cannot hold this pistol anymore, Sir! Pardon me!"

With it, he strode past the open door, leaving a confused Boris behind who became absorbed in deep thoughts again, thinking of new intricate moves to supersede Hachiro, playing with the pistol and rotating it.

In the large, well-decorated living room of Tachibana residence, the orangette and his followers were sitting on the sofa, waiting for their boss. Soon, the brown-haired man entered there as they all stood up, saluting him. Putting a finger on his lip, Hachiro shushed and approached them.

"Many a time I told you not to come to my house with these discussions, Brooklyn," The brunette glared at them, "What happened this time?"

"Boss, I've told you everything on the mobile," Brooklyn clasped his fingers, "We almost ended that bastard."

"But you couldn't," Tucking a lit cigar between his lips, the political leader smirked, "Listen, there goes a proverb in politics. If a leader dies losing his reputation, even the history doesn't feel pity for him. Murdering Tyson, you created the same chance to frame Kai. But alas, your boat drowned at the edge of the river!"

When these talks were going on, two persons were near the closed door of the room. Turning the recorder of his phone on, the dwarf redhead was recording the scene, putting the camera through the keyhole. The female wasn't interested in it but her heart rates were rising when she was listening to the creepy conversation of conspiracies and upcoming plans of her father.

"We tried our best, leader," Brooklyn expressed his grudge, not knowing that they were being eavesdropped, "But before we could shoot him, a black Audi had come out of nowhere and snatched Kai from our paws. We couldn't do anything."

Putting the cigar out from his mouth, Hachiro stood up and churned, "It must be the plan of Balkov."

"Boss, who's this Balkov?" Carlos felt curious.

"If I get a single chance," Hachiro chewed air in his mouth before his disciples, ignoring the question, "I'll kill that backstabbing bastard like smashing a street dog. But before that, splash more ink at the fair face of Kai Hiwatari, that scoundrel and mannerless VP of your university, so that he can never raise his gazes in front of his supporters, family members, dear people and the general mass! I want him committing suicide like Adolf Hitler!"

The enthusiasm of his voice soon ceased as his ears sensed the claps of someone. Wrinkling his brows, he turned to the door of the room which was opened by the same person.

"Wow, dad, wow!" The female brunette sneered, "Now I've recognized my actual father!"

"Hilary?" Hachiro gulped, sweating bullets at the sight of his beloved daughter as she entered there, pushing the door and caring at no one. Flames were visible in her ruby orbs, lips were folded inside, covering her clenched teeth and fingers were curled into fists. Her eyeballs were fluctuating up and down in anger, shock and disbelief. She was feeling disgusted after she had listened to the words of the brown-haired politician. Her father, the person who loved her the most in this world, was behind all these things? It was he who was directing Brooklyn and his gang to do these misdeeds and vitiate their campus?

"Today, I've seen how my real father is," The female brunette was boiling, "Today, with my own ears, I've heard how his ideologies and principles are!"

With a gesture of Hachiro, Brooklyn and his teammates left the room, bowing before him once. Then, the politician roared, "Hilary!"

"Lower your voice, dad!" Hilary's outburst was equally fiery, "You haven't done anything great for which you have to be loud! Just clearly listen one thing. The person…the person whom you want to get killed by your pet goons, the blameless guy whom you want to get hung, charging him with the false allegation of murder...I love him!"

A small thunderbolt fell on the head of the politician as his eyes became wider than coins. For controlling his balance, he retreated and held and handle of a wooden sofa. Hilary continued, "Kai is always right. He is the vice-president of our central students' union whose goal is only to remove injustice, falsehood and darkness from the university. I-I thought he was just like you but no! He's far better than you, or say, you're worse! He's always put his life at stake in order to save students and teachers. And you? For fulfilling your own selfish, shameless and evil motives, you didn't hesitate to murder an innocent student like Tyson and frame Kai! I-I am feeling so ashamed to know that I-I am your daughter!"

"Shut up!" Hachiro grabbed her arm, "You're my daughter, the child of Hachiro Tachibana! Don't forget your status. You're a princess…and…and Kai is a disloyal mutineer! It's impossible to set a relation between you and Kai. You cannot love him!"

"Stop it, dad!" Hilary got off the hand of her father from her arm with a jolt, "Kai is not a disloyal mutineer or something like that! His identity is way brighter than mine! I'm linked to a dirty, mean-minded, selfish, greedy, vicious and heartless politician like you. But Kai? The family history of Kai is glorious. Kai's the son of martyr Susumu Hiwatari!"

Another thunderbolt cracked there, making the politician make his eyes wider and drop his jaw. Not caring, the chocolate-haired girl warned her father, pointing her index finger at him, "Listen another thing, dad. As long as Hilary's heart is beating, you can do nothing to Kai!"

Kicking on the ground furiously, she stormed out from the room. The father couldn't even stop his daughter from going out. Only a sentence was roaming in his head, "Kai is the son of martyr Susumu Hiwatari, Kai is the son of martyr Susumu Hiwatari…"

The riverside was calm, cool, soundless. Gentle afternoon breeze was hovering and whirling on the water surface, taking the dry leaves away with it. The rays of the sun also became mild, their scorching nature was appeased and tepid. The cottons in the azure sky floated, their reflection fell on the translucent river water. Beside it, the dual-haired half-Russian was standing in his usual posture, throwing his gazes at the boundless blue. His slate bangs blew with the waft, he breathed deeply. One of his cheeks was still bluish as he saw his reflection on the crystal water. He was feeling so peaceful there, alone, yet, on the lap of nature. Then, there was nobody to humiliate or bash him. There was no finger pointed at him. He could never find such peace anywhere in this world.

"Kai!"

Frowning and turning back, he saw a familiar brunette running towards him restlessly. She was sweating, her unbound chocolate tresses were blowing back in the soothing river breeze. Reaching him, she put her hands on her knees and bent down, panting crazily for air. Kai felt confused after seeing her there. Nonetheless, he didn't say anything to her.

"I knew…" She wheezed, "I knew that you were here."

"What're you doing here, Hilary?" He calmly asked, "Everyone fears a murderer, you know."

"Stop this nonsense, Kai!" She grabbed his arm, "I know and you also know it far well that you didn't kill Tyson. Actually…Tyson was killed by Brooklyn and you know who's behind all these things?"

"Who?" Kai screwed his brows.

"My…my father, Hachiro Tachibana," In repulsion, Hilary rotated her face, "I-I didn't know that he could be such a monster. He is after you so that he can spread his influence all over the university, killing you or removing you by any means."

In shock, Kai's amethysts were extended as he made an almost inaudible gasp. His girlfriend, the lady whom he loved the most right after his mother, was the daughter of his sworn enemy. He remembered how he'd suspected Hilary and Hachiro after meeting the latter, trying to connect the dots of resemblances between their appearances. However, when he'd seen Hilary enthusiastically supporting him in every rally and protest, taking part with him and being active, he'd let the suspicion go. But he could never have imagined that his doubt would come true one day. He grasped his forehead in tremor. What would he do now? Would he still willingly jump in the fire?

"Kai!" Hilary pleaded, "I...I will never support my father! I'll support only you!"

"But…" The slate-haired was baffled. Was she saying or doing it only for the sake of their love? If they hadn't been lovers, what would she have done possibly?

"No Kai! I'm not saying these things only because I love you," The brunette herself clarified his doubts, "My words are true and I'll fulfill all my promises. Kai, it may be my bad luck to be born in the house of such a cruel and selfish father but it's my good fortune to get a selfless, kind, determined lover like you who walks along the path of truth, justice and light. Kai, I-I want to be your comrade in every procession, meeting, protest and all the events of your life. I want to walk beside you, holding your hand, along the same path which will bring welfare to the people of this nation. With you, I want to take part in all the activities in which you participate and serve this nation like you, being the companion of a true leader. Please, Kai, give shelter to me beside you!"

After it, no other word could escape from the throat of the VP. Joining her hands together, she requested with her tearful eyes, "Kai, if you order me, I can even leave my house, my family, all the luxuries behind and accompany you for the rest of our lives. But please, don't abandon me! I won't be able to tolerate the pain of losing you. I'll die, Kai, I'll just die!"

Clasping her hands, the slate-haired gently put them down. After a few silent moments of staring at her bottomless ruby orbs, he slowly pulled her closer into a hug, binding her in his sturdy arms. She sobbed, leaning her head against his chest and drenching his shirt, placing her hands around his back and neck. Kai felt that her purest tears were washing all the ink of disgrace and humiliation from his image which had been sprinkled by the society. Really, Hachiro was a criminal, not Hilary. She'd always been by his side, supporting and encouraging him. She had a stainless, clean heart. Unlike her father, she was selfless, kind and pure. She was an earthbound angel. Why would Kai leave her?

"I promise," Kai buried his nose in her silky brown locks, whispering, "I'll never leave you, Hil."

The speed of her tears got doubled, the force of the embrace became tighter. Both they closed their eyes. The gentle breeze across the river blew around them, soothing them so that they could calm down. After a few minutes, Kai affectionately lifted the chin of the brunette. Gazing at her ruby orbs, he brought his lips closer to hers, her ones parted slightly open. Four lips met together in a passionate, yet, divine kiss by the river shore, celebrating the victory of their love which superseded all the depression, stresses, humiliations and pains which had been killing them both for the past few days.

He won it by accepting her despite knowing her true identity yet real motives. She won it, being ready to sacrifice everything for him as well as for his ideologies, the principles of justice, truth and light.
