AN: Sorry about the delay, I kept forgetting to write the chapter at first and then "The Blood of Olympus" came out and I wanted to get a copy and read it to see if there was anything that might change my ideas for the story and there were a couple for this one and others. Anyway, on with the chapter.

AN2: Sorry if this chapter seems bland and slow but I need to set everything up for the quest that starts NEXT chapter.

Son of the Moon

Chapter 22

-Percy-

Sighing he looked around at his prison ce…cabin along with his jailo…sisters and wondered when he was going to be allowed to go anywhere without an escort…he literally couldn't even take a bathroom break unguarded as the hunters sent in Will and Beckendorf to make sure he 'didn't run off and get into trouble' as they put it.

After he had told everyone what he had been doing in Alaska his Mom had called down us Uncle Apollo to give him and the others a lift to Camp as she had to go hunt down a monster by herself. He had offered to come…and ended up with an extra layer of divine silver chains and two wolfs given the specific task of making sure he didn't run off.

Looking over at Zoe from his position chained to the bed he asked "Are you even going to let me participate in the Capture the Flag?".

At his question his sister walked over and flopped down onto the bed next to him as she pat his head mockingly "Awwwww," she cooed "does little Percy want to get out of his grounding?".

"Mom never grounded me!" he yelled, flailing around like a fish out of water as he tried to escape the chains which bound him "And you don't get too!".

"Do too." Zoe said smugly.

"DO NOT!" he retorted as his flailing caused him to fall off the bed with a thud.

"Yes we do." The hunters deadpanned as one.

"Not fair," he pouted before squirming again "can you at least take the chains off?".

"Are you going to try and run off?" Phoebe asked warily as she pulled out a key.

Looking down he sighed, "Please," he asked, his voice shaky "I…I can't just sit still anymore. I need to do something, anything!".

No more words were said as Phoebe unlocked his chains, pulling him into a soft hug as she tried to reassure him that everything would be alright. Ever since Nico and Bianca had been taken he had been trying to get permission to search for them, he hadn't even been able to get a prophecy to help him as Apollo told him about something interfering with the powers of the Oracle but one more major event should trigger a big enough situation for the Oracle to generate a prophecy. Even without the prophecy though he had continued to try to leave to find the Di Angelos…until Chiron and Zoe had worked together to make sure he couldn't run off again…but shooting him in the ass with a tranquilizer dart and attaching a tracking bracelet to his ankle…Clarisse and the others still wouldn't stop laughing at him about it.

As soon as Phoebe and Zoe let go he got up and headed to the arena to destroy some of the practice dummies and let off some steam, eventually getting roped into sparring with some other demigods until Clarisse and Amanda came and dragged him away.

"Any word?" he asked when they finally stopped by the creek, Will, Beckendorf, Tyson, and Thalia stepping out of the trees as they arrived.

"I sent out Iris messages to every child of Hermes I could throughout the country but I haven't gotten any response." Amanda told him once everyone had arrived which was quickly copied by the others until he got to Will.

"I haven't heard anything from the other children of Apollo but I sent word to Hylla and Reyna and they said there was a large surge of power on the west coast that might have been connected but they aren't sure." The son of Apollo told him causing him to nod in determination, while it wasn't definite it was a lead and the first one he had.

"Now we just have to survive Friday's Capture the flag," Beckendorf said with a groan as everyone turned towards him "Chiron came to a decision earlier today about what team Percy would be on and he decided that while Percy was the leader of Camp Half-Blood he was a Hunter First so he's on their team…he looked like he was close to crying when he told me.".

"He probably wants to beat the Hunt for once," he told the others with a small smile, picturing the ancient centaur crying at the thought of losing again "after all, camp has never won these games.".

"Is that a challenge?" Clarisse asked him with a playful glare.

"Yes," he deadpanned "yes it is.".

-Friday Night-

Looking at his sisters he told them his battle plan "I want Zoe and Phoebe guarding the flag as I highly doubt any of the campers are powerful enough to get past BOTH of them and the few who are train enough with us that we know how they fight, don't get cocky though as the reverse is also true. I'm going to be leading this fight but keep one thing in mind," here his eyes hardened and his sisters shivered at the intensity of his gaze "Chase is mine.".

After he had met with his friends to ask if any of them had gotten word about Nico and Bianca they had decided to grab a bite to eat at the pavilion and that was when Annabeth Chase had decided to walk over and open her mouth.

-Flashback-

As he sat down he saw Will and Beckendorf stiffen across from him while the sound of footsteps grew louder behind them as Clarisse and Amanda gripped his shoulders as he turned around and saw Annabeth Chase striding arrogantly over to them. "Well, well, well," Chase sneered at them "it looks like your little band of Quest stealers has lost a couple memb…" before the daughter of Athena could finish her statement he had lunged, Amanda and Clarisse's grips on his arm unable to restrain him as he dashed towards her and grabbed her throat.

Pinning her against a column he growled and felt his demigod aura begin to bubble to the surface in response to his anger "If you EVER say something like that again chase you won't have to worry about being picked for a quest because I'll kill you myself. I'm sure Hades would be more than glad to PERSONALLY create a private area in the fields of punishment just for you.".

With one last snarl to get his message across he had tossed the daughter of Athena aside before she got to her feet and scrambled off in terror as his friends walked over, not saying anything but simply staying close to show their support.

-End flashback-

The hunters nodded, having heard what had happened and knowing that nothing could stop him when he was on the warpath. After his warning Chase hadn't completely listened and as soon as she had the backup of her cabin she had resumed her arrogant attitude but had steered clear of any comments about Nico and Bianca, having learned what that would mean for her.

The hunters quickly went into position with Zoe and Phoebe heading to guard the flag while he lead the rest of the hunt to the border line. The moment the conch horn sounded he shot off like an arrow from a bow into the forest followed by his sisters. Their job was to search for the flag…he simply intended to hunt down Chase and teach her another lesson.

As he charged through the trees to find his target he passed dozens of other demigods, most of them dropped their weapons and backed off knowing that they had no chance against him especially as angry as he was but the Athena campers he passed tried to challenge him…none of them remained conscious after doing so.

Finally he got to the flag where he saw Annabeth and her brother Malcom as the daughter of Athena drew her knife and sneered, "Looks like the quest thief is all alone." she crowed while her brother shot her a look of disgust making him nod in respect at the only Athena camper who hadn't supported her actions.

"You didn't listen to your warning Chase," he said quietly, slowly drawing his blade and holding it loosely "so it's time for another lesson.".

Lunging forward he slashed at the daughter of Athena with a reverse grip on his blade while Malcolm had stepped back, knowing that this fight was about more than the flag.

When Chase ducked under his he shot out and caught her in the gut with his knee while letting go of his grip on the hilt as the blade was tossed into his other palm and he stabbed at her shield with a left handed thrust, knocking the bronze piece of armor away as he dropped Riptide and drew his own silver daggers and began slashing the two blades at Chase who frantically struggled to block his slashes but still wound up covered in wounds from her efforts before he stopped and pinned her to a tree with his blades at her throat.

"I'm getting tired of your attitude Chase," he said with a glare "ever since I got here you've done nothing but make my life as difficult as possible, first it was because I beat that traitor Luke down for kidnapping me and then because I was always chosen for quests instead of you. Well News Flash Chase, you're NEVER going to be chosen for a quest for one simple reason, your fatal flaw. You're arrogance would damn the quest and any who went on it with you, the oracle recognizes this and THAT is why you're never selected.". As he finished his tirade he struck her with the pommel of the dagger to render her unconscious as her brother walked over and sighed before simply dragging the girl off for medical attention.

-One hour later-

As he sat on the sidelines of the creek, calmly ignoring the glares he was receiving from Chase and most of her siblings, as the hunters cheered while holding the campers captured flag, he looked around before freezing as he saw the Oracle striding towards them shakily.

Pointing a shaky finger at the figure striding towards them on her own the others quickly turned their gaze towards the mummy before it stopped and opened its mouth as green smoke began to pour out of it. Glancing around he saw Chase look greedily towards the smoke, no doubt thinking she was being selected for a quest to prove him wrong only to yell out in frustration as the smoke encircled him before he heard the oracle say "

Five shall go west to the goddess in chains,

One shall strongest of the daughters of grain,

Another is the fiercest son of the vines,

Third is the daughter of the King of Divines,

Fifth is the daughter banished from home,

Climbing the peak that shall gaze upon Rome,

The bane of Olympus shows the trail,

Campers and Hunters combined prevail,

The cruel mother, stirs from her slumber,

A choice made, lest the world be torn asunder."

Whispers quickly spread about the prophecy before being silenced by Chiron who turned towards him, as if expecting an answer as he was rooted to the spot, having seen visions in the emerald fog of the quest...and who the goddess in chains was, "Mom." He choked out, tears running down his face as the smoky visage of his mother chained to a rock with Nico and Bianca faded away.

AN: Before anyone says anything about how Percy has been acting he's been away from all humans for five months so he won't be the most social, added to that the girl he loves and his all but brother have been captured by the titans so he is more than a little upset at the moment. And to how he dealt with Annabeth, in Riordan's version he was about to hit Thalia with the entire creek/river at CHB after said demigoddess had shot him with LIGHTNING, I think a few seconds in a choke-grip and some knife slashes, which weren't as bad as what the Ares had done to him in the Canon Lightning Thief, aren't really all that bad.
