Chapter 1

Congratulations! You have died and have been granted the power of the Gamer. You will be born into the Narutoverse where you can choose who you want to be. Choose carefully because once you make your pick there's no going back.

'What?' I looked around in disbelief. I was floating in an endless black space, the only source of light was the glowing blue text box. 'I died?'

Yes! Truck-kun hit you hard and you have won the greatest prize in the reincarnation roulette. The Gamer!

'Truck-kun? What the fuck?'

It's ok, take your time. I'll just leave your options up to study at your own pace.

Another box came up. It was much longer than the previous ones.

'Right… ok.' I looked over my options. I'm obviously going to take Konoha, that's where all the action was. Sure, that creep Danzo was there, but there were plenty of people who were not taken by him. I just have to make myself either too strong or unnoticeable so he wont take me.

I reached over and touched the little blank box next to Konohagakure, making another box take its place.

The Aburame Clan (油女一族, Aburame Ichizoku), one of the four noble clans. It is a clan infamous for their use of special chakra-eating bugs that nest within the bodies of the Aburame.

The Akimichi Clan (秋道一族, Akimichi Ichizoku) are another of Konoha's four noble clans. They are known for their ability to change their size to gigantic proportions.

The Hyūga Clan (日向一族, Hyūga Ichizoku) are one of Konoha's four noble clans. They possess the byakugan, a dōjutsu which gives them an almost entire 360 degrees of vision and see chakra precisely such that they can see the chakra pathway system.

The Hatake Clan (はたけ一族, Hatake Ichizoku) is one of the many clans that reside in Konohagakure. They aren't a very big clan, but what they lack in quantity they make up for in quality.

The Inuzuka Clan (犬塚一族, Inuzuka Ichizoku) are a family in Konoha that are known for their ninken companions that they fight with.

The Nara Clan (奈良一族, Nara Ichizoku) are one of Konoha's many clans. They are known for tending to their deer and their ability to manipulate their shadows.

The Sarutobi Clan (猿飛一族, Sarutobi Ichizoku) is one of Konoha's more prominent clans in the political scene. They have an affinity for fire and are known for their devotion to the Senju philosophy: The Will of Fire.

The Senju Clan (千手一族, Senju Ichizoku) are better known as one of the founding clans for Konoha, and among the four noble clans. They possess the extremely rare kekkei genkai, Wood Release.

The Uchiha Clan (うちは一族, Uchiha Ichizoku) are the last of Konoha's four noble clans. They are reputed to be among Konoha's strongest, given their ability in power only enhanced by their dōjutsu: the Sharingan.

The Yamanaka Clan (山中一族, Yamanaka Ichizoku) is one of Konoha's many clans. They specialize in mind-related techniques and run a local floral shop in Konohagakure.

The Uzumaki Clan (うずまき一族, Uzumaki Ichizoku). Its ninja were renowned for their fūinjutsu to the point that it led to its destruction in war.

The Aburame are my favorites, but I don't want to be a bug host. I shuddered at the thought. Akimichi are cool, but their fighting style won't work for me. I wouldn't survive long in the Hyuga with my personality. I don't wanna be related to Kakashi. Naras are badasses, but I wasn't much of a planner. I prefer to fight on instinct. I couldn't consider the Sarutobi because whatever accomplishments I got would be constantly compared to the third hokage, same with the Senju. The Uzumaki was way too generic, same thing with the Uchiha. The Yamanaka were just not that impressive to me, they relied on their team members waaayyy too much.

Which leaves me with the Inuzuka. Well, it's a good thing I'm a dog person. I clicked on the Inuzuka option.

I can choose when? I tapped my lip with my forefinger in thought. Too young and I wont be strong enough to do anything, too old and I'll miss the action. Hey, can I be in the same generation as Kakashi? That seemed like a good starting point, and I wanted to meet little Kakashi.

The little baby girl squirmed and cried as she was manhandled by the doctors and nurses. That was the single grossest, most horrible experience of her life! She whimpered as the nurses cleaned her up before passing her around. She was poked and prodded before she was finally settled onto someone's arms. The woman whose arms she was in was pale and sweaty and had two fang like tattoos on her cheeks. She had wild brown hair and equally wild brown eyes. Her smile was more of a feral grin that showed off her fangs.

'Is this my mom?'

"Oh, yeah. You're gonna be great, pup. I can see it in your eyes." The woman chuckled as she caressed her new daughter's cheek with a finger. "Hmm Kida, that's your name, pup. Inuzuka Kida ." Kida closed her eyes with a yawn as her mother nuzzled her.

'Being born is exhausting.' She thought, falling asleep.

Being a baby was equally as exhausting. Kida spent the next few weeks drifting from unconsciousness to crying for food. It was about two or so months before she could stay awake for more than a few minutes, another month before she could start focusing on anything other than her stomach.

She could already see the difference in her Inuzuka genes. Her sense of smell and hearing were definitely amplified. She could hear and smell things from outside that she wouldn't have been able to in her past life.

The Inuzuka compound was loud. There were dogs barking, children laughing and adults yelling. The smell wasn't bad; she actually found the smell of dogs comforting, but it was a little strong, to put it mildly.

Kida looked around her new home's living room, there was a sofa against one wall and some stuffed chairs here and there. She was at the center of the room on top of a blanket, a mobile lazily turning above her. Kida could hear her mother outside training, working on gaining her ninja strength back. Her sister was out on a mission with her Chunin team and she had no idea where her dad went. So she was left alone with her mother's ninken, a large furry wolf dog named Kemono. The beast was supposed to keep an eye on her and call her mom if she needed her, but there really wasn't much for him to do since mom left her fed and clean when she stepped out. So the great lump just laid there on its side, taking a nap.

She eyed the red and blue bars under his name, floating above his head, with Lvl ? next to his name and the words 'Bloody Ghost' above it all. Now that she could stay awake longer than a few minutes, she wanted to explore some of her Gamers ability. She looked up at the red and blue bars floating just at the edge of her sight, the time and date under the bars. The red bar was labeled HP, which must represent health, and the blue bar was labeled CP, which she guessed was her chakra.

Kida smiled when a blue box appeared above her.

Strength: Affects your physical damage output. Increases HP regeneration rate.

Vitality: Affects how well you take a hit and how much you can exert yourself. +20 HP per VIT point

Agility: Affects how well you move and your balance. Increases your reflexes and overall speed.

Intelligence: Increases learning speed, memory, and CP. +20 CP per INT point

Wisdom: Affects your common sense, awareness, and intuition. Increases CP regeneration.

Luck: Can influence anything, but mostly random items, encounters and outstanding successes/failures such as critical hits.

That explained why she was so out of it for so long. She was glad she could see the conversion, it showed her what to work on. More specifically, she needed to increase her VIT.

She can raise her physical stats through exercises no problem. INT can be taken care of with studying and LUK with bets and gambling. WIS though, she wasn't too sure about. She didn't even understand what wisdom was, let alone how to raise it.

Hmm aren't old people supposed to be full of wisdom? Is it because they've been through a lot? Gained experience over time? Maybe that's it, experience. Although, she doubted it was like a gaming experience. She knew that gaining experience meant going through different scenarios and learning from them, then making better choices if faced with the same or similar situations. Is that what wisdom is? Getting experience and making better choices?

DING!

Kida jerked back to reality when a blue box appeared.

Hell yeah! Ok so it looked like she was on the right track. If she can gain stats even now she might as well start grinding. First thing she needed to do was walk. If she can't do that she can't do much. She looked around the room, eyes landing on the furry lump.

She stared at her new quest with a deadpan expression. 'Well not gonna complain.'

She was gonna struggle quite a bit with that -90% to her stat gains, but she would still try. She tried to roll onto her stomach, but only succeeded in punching herself in the face. Ouch, she grumbled, not stopping her efforts, jerking back and forth, but after a few seconds she got tired. So that's what it meant to have what was basically -1 VIT. She stubbornly continued her useless endeavor, flailing her chubby arms around.

After a few seconds of struggling, she passed out.

She woke up when her mother picked her up. It was dark and she could hear her father in the other room. For the next few days she continued to struggle to roll over passing, out every few minutes. Having such low health was killing her.

Three days later, she finally did it. She laid there on her spot in the living room, panting, enjoying her victory. She gained 1 VIT! Now that she had more health she wouldn't pass out so much.

It would probably take several days before she gained the ability to roll over, and so she returned to her struggle. Even if her recovery time was fast she still had to stop every few minutes, too tired to continue.

She was getting frustrated now, she'd been working on rolling over for the past few days and all she had to show for it was one stat gain! She began screaming her frustrations as she flailed her arms and legs. Yeah she was throwing a tantrum, but she was sick of not being able to move, sick of not being able to use the bathroom by herself. She wanted, no she needed her independence.

The door burst open and her mother picked her up, she'd heard her daughter crying from the backyard where she had been training. She nuzzled the baby, holding her close "Hey hey it's ok no need to cry, pup. Mommy's here." Asuga rocked her back and forth as she cried. "What happened?" She asked Kemono who was peeking from behind the sofa.

"Don't know. She just started wailing and convulsing on the ground." The old dog muttered, eyeing the crying child warily. "She's been rocking back and forth for the fast few days, though."

Asuga eyed her crying child. "You don't like being on your back?" Kida stopped crying and quickly shook her head.

Her mother's eyes widened slightly, not having expected an actual answer. She laid her back on the ground this time one her belly. Kida grinned gummily up at her mother. Asuga just chuckled and ruffled her short hair before going back to her training.

Kida waited for the door to close before moving her arms under her body. She just wanted to let out her anger for a moment, she didn't think her mom would make things easier. She began doing 'push ups'. They weren't real push ups, since all she could do was kinda push her upper body up.

It was around her hundredth non push up when she heard the front door opening, making her lose her focus and fall to her belly. Kida smiled and wiggled around in excitement when she caught her sister's scent. 16 year old Tsume and Kuromaru burst into the living room heading straight for Kida.

She'd been surprised when she realized who her family was. Her father was the Inuzuka Alpha, the head of the clan, and her sister was the future clan head. Kida could smell sooth and blood on her sister and Kuromaru, but their HP and CP were full and the blood wasn't theirs so she wasn't worried.

"Heya pup!" Kida squealed in delight when her sister swung her up into her arms as Kuromaru jumped onto his uncles back in greeting. She was glad the Game system let her understand Japanese on top of remembering English. "How's my favorite little sister? Huh? Getting bored of having only that grumpy old dog as company? That's ok, I get the rest of the week off from missions so I can cuddle you all day long." Tsume nuzzled her, rubbing their cheeks together. Something she picked up about the Inuzuka was that they were a very tactile clan. Showing their affection through touch, hugs and cuddles. "Let me take a quick shower, then I can read you a book or we can play pick-a-boo or we can play cat's cradle or maybe you're too little for that one yet." Tsume planted a kiss on her chubby cheek before laying her, thankfully, on her belly and heading to the bathroom.

Kida went back to her 'push ups', watching Kuromaru pull at a grumbling Kemono with his teeth. He was definitely weaker than his uncle, but she couldn't see his level either. The same with her parents and Tsume. Since she hadn't seen anyone else since she was brought in from the hospital, she wasn't sure what was the limit to the levels she could see.

Kida's eyes widened as a thought struck her. OH KAMI! How could she be so dumb! She completely forgot about the greatest tool a gamer can have. She studied the two ninken. They were both dark grey, but Kuromaru had a light grey patch of fur on his chest, stomach and legs. Kemono was bigger with a bit more muscle than Kuromaru. The younger ninken had thicker fur that hadn't lost the smooth silk texture pups were born with. Kemono had reddish brown eyes while Kuromaru had dark brown eyes.

"She's learning to crawl. I think." Kemono rolled back over, falling asleep.

She finally, finally! gained 1 in STR and AGI by the time Tsume came in with her mother. They stopped short at the entryway, shock clear in their face as they watched her roll herself towards them.

"Holy wow, Kida! That's amazing! You just rolled over!" Tsume picked her up, gushing as she nuzzled her baby sister.
