"Whaaaaaaa" Tochio flinched as Kida's screaming became shrilled. The ache in her gums had turned into excruciating pain. The pup was teething and taking it out on everyone.
Today was Harutos day off and since one of the Ninken was in labor, as head vet Asuga was overseeing the birth, which meant that she had essentially dumped Kida on him in the middle of a clan meeting.
Teething rings, gum gel and frozen pacifiers were only a temporary solution. He really hated seeing his usually happy baby so miserable. Even now the only reason she wasn't screaming was because her mouth was occupied with his thumb.
He sighed as he adjusted her so she was resting against his chest. He huffed at the amused looks he was getting from his clan members. They had all dealt with teething pups before and found it hilarious that their stern Alpha was suffering through it, again.
Kida whimpered as her dad let her chew on his fingers. Her mouth hurt like hell. No wonder babies turned into shrieking demons when teething. The feeling of having a sharp fang digging through her gum was no joke.
This past week had been the worst. Not only was she teething, but Sakumo was in the village which meant that he had Kakashi for the week.
She tried to focus on the meeting, but even Gamer's mind couldn't break through the pain and now all she wanted to do was die.
Kida waited until she was sure Haruto was out of earshot before she snuck down the hallway toward the kitchen.

She quietly slipped inside, followed closely by Kakashi. "Yag agaba?" 'Is this a good idea?' The boy asked as he closed the door behind them. She shrugged "Bah." 'Probably not.' Kida answered back. No, she couldn't understand what he said, but the doubt was clear on his face. He was very expressive.
She waved the boy over to help her move a chair. Once they had it against the cabinets they helped each other climb unto the counter.
Kakashi braced himself against the fridge. When he was sure he was well balanced he nodded at Kida. She held back her giggles as she climbed Kakashi, he was so serious about the whole thing. It was adorable. He grunted as he held her up.

She was just high enough that she could reach the cookie jar on top of the fridge. She opened it and rummaged through it, before putting the lid back on. She carefully climbed down the shaking Kakashi.
She giggled as she held out the treasure to the waiting boy. She couldn't believe they got it. Kakashi pulled the lid off and reached in, pulling out two cookies.
He shoved one in his mouth and held the other for her. Just as Kida was about to get her prize they heard a throat being cleared.
Kida groaned in annoyance as she turned to face Haruto. He had an annoyed look on his face. "I thought I made it clear that you weren't to have sweets until lunch."
Kida grumbled as her uncle took away the jar of cookies and placed it back on top of the fridge. He grabbed the toddlers by the back of their onsies and carried them to the living room where he had them face the wall as punishment.
Kida pouted, since Haruto was such a hands off caretaker she'd thought they'd get away with it, but she'd underestimated him.
A smirk appeared on her face when she heard him leaving them alone again. She pulled out the two cookies she'd stashed in her inventory before climbing down Kakashi. She handed one over to the unimpressed boy.

And once again as she was about to eat her cookie she was snached up by the back of her onsie. She matched Harutos glare with one of her own.
They stared at each other as Kida brought up the cookie slowly to her mouth a challenging look in her eye. Her uncle's eyes switched between her and the cookie. "Don't you dare." He growled.
She raised a brow at him. 'He thinks that's gonna stop me.' She then proceeded to shove the entire cookie in her mouth fist and all.

Kida twitched as he turned to leave again. 'Motherfucker!' She screamed as she chomped down on his leg.
"Gah!" Haruto yelped, stumbling a bit as pain ripped through his leg. He glared down at Kida as he brought his leg up, balancing on his other one. "Let go." He growled as he tried to pull her off. 'Damn she has a strong jaw.' He tried to pry her jaws apart carefully, he needed to make sure he didn't hurt her or his brother and sister in law would kill him. 'Probably Tsume would join in too.'
Suddenly something rammed into his other leg, making him lose his balance and fall over. He grunted as he hit the ground. He turned a confused look to the Hatake boy, only to be met with a glare and angry growls.
Haruto couldn't believe what was happening. He expected this behavior from Kida, but not from Kakashi. He was the better behaved of the two of them.
Haruto couldnt handle this anymore.
Kida kept her tiny fangs clamped tight around Harutos leg as she watched the emotions rush through the man/boy. Shock, confusion, then anger and finally, finally, sadness.

Kida released his leg and sat back, letting him have his meltdown. She had been working hard on getting him to break down. Keeping your emotions bottled up like that was really bad. While she didn't particularly care about Haruto, she was tired of seeing the guy moping around the house. So she'd had no choice, but to deal with it.
Haruto was still on the ground rubbing furiously at his eyes as he tried to stop his tears. He couldn't believe he was losing it in front of the brats.
He twitched when he felt someone climbing onto his lap. He uncovered his eyes to see his niece holding up another cookie for him, a wide grin on her face.

Kida rolled her eyes at the man-child. "Baga yah" 'Food makes everything better, doofus.' She motioned to the cookie.
"Kida, I don't want-umph" Kida shoved the cookie into his mouth with a glare in her eye. "Gahh yah dah!" 'Just accept the damn cookie!'
Haruto choked on the treat, not having expected her to shove the whole thing in his mouth. "Dammit-cough-Kids-cough." She laughed as fresh tears appeared on his eyes.
She looked over to Kakashi and laughed even harder. The boy was looking at them with a WTF face, not understanding what just happened.
That night at dinner, as her mother fed Kida, her parents kept sending confused looks at Haruto.
"Your scent's better…?" Kida sent her dad a confused look as Haruto chuckled.
"Yeah, turns out Kida's an ok therapist." He said with a shrug.
Her parents chuckled as her father reached over and ruffled her hair. "That's my good girl." 'Yes, I am the best.'
After lunch her mother bathed her and left her on her crib for the night. She flipped a coin in the air, guessing if it was head or tails as she tried to come up with more quests and grinded her LUK skill.

Her recovery wasn't too big a problem now, but if she learned anything from reading the Gamer then it would be her most useful ability. If she had a high enough recovery, she could out match even the most powerful opponents. She wanted that to have at least 4 digits to it. Her STR would increase on its own every level up and through exercising, but WIS... life experience was great, but to get that she actually needed to get through life for that and she might not survive if she relied on that.

From what she could remember of Kiba's fighting style as a genin, he was forced to use soldier pills to increase his Chakra to use his family jutsus. She really didn't want to have to rely on the pills cause if they were the same as in the show then the drawback wouldn't be worth it. She didn't want to spend her points exclusively on WIS though and there were only so many quests she could come up with.

She grumbled, how do you even clear your mind? She sat up and crossed her legs, putting her coin away. She closed her eyes and tried to clear her thoughts away.

She huffed in frustration, everything was too loud, she couldn't focus. Her dad was snoring from down the hall. 'How does mother sleep with that?'
…..Wait! that's it!
Kida needed to focus on anything else aside from her thoughts.
She mainly focused on what she could hear. The compound was still active even at night. She could hear some dogs barking, the leaves and grass rustling in the wind. People laughing and talking.
Kida opened her eyes with a gasp, looking around frantically. Where the hell was she? She stood in the middle of what looked like a giant dense forest. The trees were as large and thick as the Hashirama trees of Konoha and the forest floor was so densely packed with leaves that she couldn't see the actual ground. Even with how dense the forest was, it was still as bright as day.

She was now halfway to getting level 1 and she could unlock her Chakra. She looked around at the forest. She had 8 hours to find her Chakra before Haruto came to get her ready for the day. And so she began walking.
Kida startled awake when she was picked up by Haruto. "You must have slept pretty well there, pup. You're usually up and waiting for me." He chuckled as he got her ready, not paying attention to the satisfied look on her face.

It was an odd thing, Chakra, like something thick and not quite liquid. Once she was fed and dressed, Haruto took her out of the compound. They would be meeting Kakashi and Sakumo at the park for an official play date instead of normal babysitting.
Kida groaned when she realized they were at their normal park and not a new one. How was she supposed to level up without the EXP? "Morning Hatake, morning little Hatake." Haruto put her on the ground as he greeted the Hatake family.
"Morning you two." Sakumo greeted them with a grin. He turned to Kida and Kakashi. "Why don't you two go and have fun?" He said, motioning to the playground.
Kida snorted at Kakashi's look of disgust and followed him through the trees away from the snot filled brats, ignoring their guardians' amused looks.
They settled themselves on a little patch of trees. Kida walked over to one of the trees and put her onsie covered foot on the trunk. Kakashi gave her a confused look before doing the same, wondering what game she was about to play.
Kida closed her eyes and focused on her Chakra coaxing it to her foot.

She opened her eyes with a smirk which she lost instantly when she saw the red warning notification floating in front of her.

Kida brought Chakra to her fingertips trying to get a hold of the leaf and shredded it with her Chakra forcing her to grab another. Multiple attempts later she finally found the right amount.

She groaned when she saw how long it would take for her Chakra to recover. 2 HOURS!
That was really really bad. She needed to get her wisdom up desperately.
She sighed in annoyance, looks like she'll be meditating every night. She turned her attention to Kakashi, only to find him glaring adorably at his leaf.
She wasn't sure how to show him how to bring out his Chakra and since they hadn't mastered speech she couldn't tell him. So she settled for watching him get more and more upset.
She ended up meditating for an hour, gaining her the extra WIS point she was missing from last night's meditation, when she heard Kakashi's triumphant shout.

Kida raised a brow when she saw he had managed to get the leaf stuck to his finger. He started playing with it making it turn in his hand, then moved it up and around his arm.
Kida stared deadpanned at the boy. All she managed to do was keep it stuck to her finger and here he was playing with it like it was nothing. 'He really is a prodigy.' She pouted as jealousy well up inside her, only for her to stamp it out immediately. She already knew he was gonna be awesome. Besides, she was the Gamer, no need to get jealous over something like this.

She smirked before frowning, then panic set in when she saw Kakashi's Chakra had dipped low. "Shop!" She yelled, tackling the boy. It was too late, he now had Chakra Exhaustion.
She whimpered when she saw Kakashi had passed out, 'How could I be so reckless!' He wasn't even a year old yet and already she almost killed him. "Ah!" She yelped when she was suddenly picked up.
"What happened? We felt Kakashi's Chakra go down." Haruto asked as Sakumo picked up the unconscious boy, frantically looking him over. He disappeared and not a second later the world turned into a big blur.
When they finally stopped moving Kida's eyes widened when she saw they were at the hospital.
Haruto followed Sakumo closely through the door.

He placed his hand over Kakashi's head, he frowned and deactivated the jutsu. "It seems your boy is suffering from Chakra Exhaustion. He just needs to rest until he's better, no need to worry." He smiled reassuringly at Sakumo, making them all give a sigh of relief. "If I may ask, what happened to cause such a young child to get Chakra Exhausted? I know that the Hatake have always been prodigious, but to have your son playing with Chakra so young is very irresponsible." Kida matched Sakumo's grimace as he was scolded by the Iryonin. 'That's no good.'
"Wah ga!" The adults glance over to Kida in confusion. She wasn't about to let Sakumo get shit for something that was her fault. She held up the leaf she was still holding on to and activated her newest technique. She could only hold it for a second but it was enough for the adults eyes to widen in amazement.
Haruto hummed in though. "They must have seen the clan children practicing Leaf Sticking for the academy and mimicked them." He smiled and ruffled her hair "I expected this from the littlest Hatake, but I didn't expect you to be a prodigy, pup."

Her parents were not told about Kida's first word. No doubt they would have blamed Haruto for that. But they had been informed that Kida had unlocked her Chakra, something they took with both pride and warryness. On the one hand, she was a prodigy 'Yay!' On the other, the knowledge would have reached Danzo by now. They were worried and had forbidden Haruto from removing Kida and Kakashi from the compound very often.
How did she know this? They had discussed it in front of her. She was annoyed, but not at their protectiveness. She was annoyed because Danzo was a threat in the place that she should be the safest in.

"Kida," She blinked up at her father as he crouched in front of her. She was sitting on the floor of her room, 'playing' with some colorful blocks.
"I know you're a smart pup. Smarter than is normal so I know you can understand what I'm saying, yeah?"

She eyed the man warily before nodding, her reputation with her family was Honored so she wasn't too worried about them knowing she was 'smart'. Tochio's eyes widened slightly at her nod before chuckling. "I see…." He closed his eyes for a moment before giving her a serious look. "Do you know what you did today?" Kida nodded. "You can't talk yet, but can you show me how?"
Kida frowned looking around her room. She stood and walked over to a puppy themed drawing book. She ripped off a page and used Chakra to stick it to her hand. She undid the technique after a few seconds not interested in getting Chakra Exhaustion herself.
"Good girl." He patted her head. "I know Haruto isn't reckless enough to teach a baby how to use Chakra," She quickly shook her head. "So you managed to unlock your Chakra on your own?" She nodded.
"I see." He sat back eyeing her for a moment. "Well, since you understand what I say then you'll understand this. Konoha is not as safe as one would think." Kida raised a brow, not expecting him to be so blunt about it. "There's people here that would mean you harm. That if they find out what you can do they will want to take you away from the pack." Kida bit her lip at that. She was more than aware, hell she knew more about the danger Danzo posed than anyone else, and yet she had shown off what she could do in the middle of the hospital lobby. 'I really am an idiot.'
"It's a little late to keep it a secret, but we can work with this. We'll claim that you have excellent Chakra control thanks to your mother teaching you Iryoninjutsu." Tochio said, rubbing his brow. "But you can't show off your abilities outside of the clan again, do you understand?" At her nod he continued. "I'm thinking of getting Haruto to start off on some light training for you."
Kida's eyes shone with excitement making her father chuckle. "Hey now, take this seriously. He's gonna teach you how to run away." Kida pouted at that. "You don't have a Ninken yet, so you can't learn the clan techniques, and you're too young to get a Ninken, but if somehow the bad people get past our guards then you need to be ready to flee understand?" Kida nodded, still pouting. She wanted to learn to fight, but she knew better than to take on a root member or anyone stronger than a baby, so running away, as much as she hated the thought, was all she would be able to do.
"Hey don't be so down about it! Kakashi will be joining you so you'll both have fun." Tochio said with a smile. That definitely perked her up.
The next day Kakashi and Sakumo came over after breakfast. They took the children outside to the backyard and had them do some stretches before sending them to stand on opposite ends of the open space.
"Ok pups, like you were told yesterday, we will be starting your training today." Sakumo said as he went to sit on the deck. "We know you're just pups, so we came up with a fun way to do this." He smiled and pointed at Haruto who was standing midway between the children. "We'll play tag and Haruto is it. You both gotta work together to tag him. If you do manage to tag him you get extra cookies for dessert." That got the children's attention.

They gave each other determined looks before running to Haruto at full speed. "Wait! I didn't say go!" Sakumo laughed, but it was too late, neither of them was about to stop.
"Gah!" Kida yelled as she threw herself at her uncle's legs, unfortunately Kakashi did the same so when Haruto merely stepped back they slammed into each other.

Kakashi pushed at his legs, making Haruto trip over him. Kida took advantage of him falling and threw herself on his stomach, making him weeze for air. She quickly slapped his forehead, tagging him.

Sakumo's mouth hung open in shock as he watched his young friend cough. He wasn't surprised they had tagged him, he was going easy on them after all. He was shocked at how easily they had come up with a plan and executed it perfectly. Their teamwork was on point.
Kida laughed as Haruto pushed her off him with a mock scowl. She held her hand up to Kakashi making him look at her in confusion. She rolled her eyes and grabbed his hand slapping it against hers in a high five. "Ok, enough celebrating. Lets go again for round 2!"
Round two was a little tougher but not impossible. Round three on the other hand….
Kida panted as she held her knees to keep herself up next to Kakashi. They were about to run out of time and they hadn't managed to tag the smug bastard. She huffed "Ashi" Kakashi looked over at her with a frown. "Ge dah" He raised a brow at that, but nodded nevertheless. They charged at Haruto who just raised a brow at them. Kida fell back a bit and let Kakashi take the lead when they close enough Kakashi 'fell' and landed on his hands and knees. Kida used him as a springboard and launched herself high. It was really just like 3 feet up, but it was enough. She smirked when Haruto panicked. He could easily dodge her, but that would involve her falling and hurting herself. She laughed when he caught her and happily slapped his forehead.
"Looks like they got the better of you." Sakumo chuckled as Haruto put Kida down, a fond look in his eye as she high fived Kakashi.
"Ok enough of that!" Sakumo called out to them "Let's take a quick break and then we'll move onto the next exercise."
Kida and Kakashi ate a snack as Haruto lectured them on tracking.
