Chapter 6
They ended up destroying 3 more Legion Zombies and leveling up twice before calling it a night. As a Gamer Kida wasn't affected by lack of sleep like normal people, she just got a debuff. Kakashi on the other hand looked like he was about to drop.
Once they were back they took quick showers and went to sleep.
*Yawn* Kakashi rubbed his eyes as he half sat half leaned against Kida. After hearing that they had spent a little over half the night in the dungeon, Haruto had scolded them and then let them have the day off after their morning exercises.
Kakashi was glad for the reprieve. After last night's revelation he had a lot to think about. He now understood why Kida was so smart and capable. And why she was improving so fast. Kakashi could pick things up real fast and he liked showing off his skills while Kida tended to struggle when learning something new. But from what he understood from her abilities, the more she 'grinded' the skill the more proficient she became with it. And once she 'maxed out' the skill she could use it even better than Kakashi.
He'll have to ask his father for more training. He clenched his fist 'I can't let myself be left behind by Kida.'
"Teach me Earth Wall." He mumbled into her shoulder. Kida paused in her munching for a moment before she resumed eating her snack.
"Yeah sure, but yah gotta teach me a Jutsu in return." She finished her cookie and licked her fingers. "I wanna learn some Lightning Jutsus but Haruto doesn't know any."
Kakashi shrugged. "Ok, I wanna go to the Zombie dungeon tonight again and train."
Kida turned to him with a frown. "Nope. We only go to the dungeons every few days." She chuckled at Kakashi's pout. "It's not Healthy to spend too much time in the dungeon. Plus my nose needs a break." She said scrunching up her nose.
Kakashi grimaced, rubbing his nose through his mask. Even with the mask the smell of rotting flesh had still hit him hard. Even after showering and being out of the dungeon for a few hours hadn't made the smell go away.
"Fine, then tomorrow we'll go all out on training." He huffed.
Kida chuckled at the boy's grumpiness. "Sure sure."
The next day Kida was sitting on one of the training posts sucking on a lollipop as she watched Kakashi struggle to create even the smallest of Earth Wall. "Gahhh! Why isnt it working!" Said boy huffed in frustration.
Haruto chuckled at the angry boy. "Earth isn't even your secondary element so stop freaking out." He said from his spot on the side. He was watching her pups attempting to do the Jutsu as well.
Kida believed that if they can use the clan Jutsus then they should be able to do other Jutsu as well. Haruto said they wouldn't be able to do it, but nevertheless encouraged them. They were having an even harder time than Kakashi.
Kida jumped down from the pole and headed to the angry boy glaring down at the ground. She pulled out her lollipop. "Let me show you the Jutsu again."
She ran through the technique with him again and again until finally there was a little one foot wall in front of him. Kakashi was panting next to her with a satisfied look on his face.
Kida circled the little wall before she gave it a good hard kick, destroying it. Haruto and the pups laughed at the boy's horrified look.
"Size doesn't matter on this Jutsu as much as density." She said making her own one foot wall. She gave it a hard kick. Her wall managed to take the hit better only getting cracks all over it. She put her hand on her wall. "By pumping Chakra into it you can also fix the damage, letting it last longer."
She grinned at the boy's fascinated look. 'He's so cute!' Kakashi went back to working on his wall. Kida watched him for a bit more before moving to one of the practice dummies to work on her own Jutsu.
The Jutsu that Kakashi had shown her was called Raiton: Static Current. It let you send a jolt of electricity into an opponent. It was essentially a stronger version of a static shock. It was a very basic Jutsu, but Kida found it very useful. Since she was a primary Taijutsu fighter, having a Jutsu that would force her opponent to back off if she was ever grappled was very useful. Even just making them flinch would help keep her alive.
If she could get the damn Jutsu down. She was having just as much trouble with learning it as Kakashi was the Earth wall, if not more. She ran through the hand signs and slammed her hand onto the dummy.
She growled when nothing happened. Why couldn't she make this work? The worst part was that the Game wasn't giving her any prompts. She huffed and sat down, crossing her arms. She was doing everything right, but she still couldn't crack it. Kida drummed her fingers on her arm. What was she missing?
'Calm down, Kida.' She thought to herself. 'I'm not like everyone else. I'm the Gamer!' If she couldn't learn a new skill then that meant she hasn't unlocked the ability to do so. She already had Earth Chakra thanks to the Game, so how does she unlock Lightning Chakra?
She took a deep breath and fell into Meditation.
She arrived at the edge of her Chakra pool. It had grown from a small puddle to small pond since she first arrived in her Mindscape. Not very impressive, but she made the most of it. At the edge of her pond were two little saplings with their roots dipping into her Chakra, they were her connection with the pups.
She sat at the edge of the pond and dipped her feet inside. She tried to cast Static Current, but nothing happened. She huffed, when she casted Earth Wall her Chakra hardened briefly. She needed to make her Chakra more electrical like?
BUT HOW!?
She came out of Meditation in a huff. She jumped up and ran over to Sakumo. He had just come back from a mission that morning and had thought it would be fun to watch them try to teach each other Jutsu's. She climbed up the man making him chuckle. She squashed his cheeks together in annoyance. "How do I unlock Lightning."
Sakumo chuckled, before shrugging. "Aby you ust don ave a alent or it." He pulled her hands away from his cheeks, laughing when she just pouted at him. "Ok ok. Lightning Chakra is created by making your Chakra vibrate at high speeds. It's what makes Lightning Chakra help you move faster. But you don't have any Lightning Chakra properties so…." He tried to explain, but Kida wasn't listening anymore. She jumped out of his arms and looked down at her hands. "Vibrate at high speeds, huh?" She pulled her Chakra up to her hands. She needed to make it vibrate fast, but how?
She closed her eyes and focused. What did she know about vibrations? It's how sound is made. That's why the Chidori was loud? Cause of the high vibrations?
She grinned as an idea came to her. Music! Loud music!
Sakumo watched from the side as the Inuzuka pup stood there with her Chakra coating her hands. "She's been standing there like that for awhile now. Is she ok?" He asked Haruto who was starting to doze off.
The young man shrugged "She'll be fine. You know how she is, the more difficult the task, the more obsessed she gets. She'll be entertained for a while." He yawned and stretched out his arms, before taking a seat and promptly falling asleep.
Sakumo turned his attention back to the girl wondering if he should help. The Inuzuka believed that children should figure things out themselves instead of being given the answer. He agreed to a degree, but he didn't understand why they were letting Kida waste her efforts on a Lightning Jutsu. She was an Inuzuka, a Taijutsu fighter. She also didn't have any Lightning Chakra properties within her that he could sense, something which was confirmed by Haruto. Kakashi on the other hand, while he had Lightning Chakra as his primary, he had properties from all Chakra natures. She may be a prodigy, but learning a Jutsu when you don't have the right Chakra properties took years to accomplish. And now she was trying to convert her Chakra into Lightning Chakra.
Should he interfere? He is supposed to be her Jounin Sensei in the future.
Just as he made his decision, her hands gave off a small spark. It was barely there and only lasted for less than a second, but it had still been there.
Sakumo let out a breath of disbelief. She managed to convert her Chakra into Lightning Chakra without the use of hand signs!
Kida smirked as she read over the notification

Kida, did you get it!? Zoran asked as she and Sessh ran up to their partner after seeing her dancing. Kida turned to her Ninken with a wide smile. "Yeah I did! Check it!" She casted the Jutsu again getting ooohh's and aaahhh's from her pups.
"That was really good Kida." She looked up to see Sakumo walking to her. He crouched down in front of her and ruffled her hair. "I know the Inuzuka don't really work on Jutsu outside of the Clans techniques, but it looks like you have a knack for Ninjutsu. If you want, I can teach you a few Lightning style Jutsu and any others you're interested in."
Kida's eyes sparkled at the thought of learning from the White Fang.
Kakashi panted as he removed his hand from his now 4 foot wall. He wiped away the seat of his face, smirking as he studied the Earth Wall. 'I'd like to see Kida destroy this one' He thought, turning to look for his friend. He froze in horror when he saw her smiling brightly up at his father. He was showing her another Jutsu! Jealousy ripped through him 'No no nonononono!'
He ran over to them and grabbed the girl. He ignored her surprised shout as he pulled her away from his father.
Kida was surprised at Kakashi's behaviour as he dragged to his Earth Wall. Usually, it was her that was doing the dragging. She gave him a weird look before shrugging and Observing his wall. She missed the angry glare he sent the flabbergasted Sakumo when she wasn't looking.
Kakashi was well aware of the admiration Kida held for his father and, while normally he would have been filled with pride, seeing the loving look she gave him had greatly upset him.
Kida smiled at the progress the boy had made with the Earth Jutsu. A simple kick wouldn't take it down. "Hmmm how about we grind these techniques a bit?" Kakashi just gave her a confused look. "Oh right, Ok, so for defensive techniques, the more damage they take the more progress they make. For offensive techniques, the more damage they make the more progress they get."
"Ah I see. Ok then you want to attack my Earth Wall with your Static Current then?"

Kida smirked. 'This'll be easy.' She thought as she casted the Jutsu and placed her hand on the wall. After a few seconds when she saw that the wall's durability wasn't going down she frowned. She looked over to Kakashi who was looking particularly innocent leaning against the wall.
"Hey that's cheating!" She huffed at the smirking boy. He was feeding Chakra into it!
"You didn't say I couldnt." He had that smug look in his eyes again.
She turned her head away with a pout. "You're lucky you're cute."
They took a break from Ninjutsu practice and went over to the obstacle course. With the bracelet their Agility was pretty close, so Kida had a hard time beating the boy.
She laughed as she hit the ground a split second before him. "That makes it 4/7 in my favor." The boy grumbled and promised to win this time. They ran to the starting point.
A new scent made her twitch. She turned around with a grimace to see Inuzuka Hiroshi, the most annoying boy on the planet and one of her cousins.
"Hi little prodigy." The boy said with a smirk. He looked like the typical Inuzuka kid, with spiky brown hair and red clan markings on his cheeks. His Ninken partner stood proudly next to him. Several other academy kids of varying ages stood behind him, which meant that the Academy must have just let out for the day. "You know you're not supposed to be here after Academy hours."
Kida rolled her eyes. "Yeah, yeah, we must have lost track of time." She said as she walked over to stand before him, her Ninken coming to her side. "But you don't really care about that, do yah? You'd skip training anytime you can. So what do you want?"
The boy growled at her before his smirk came back. "I challenge you."
Kida rolled her eyes. The Inuzuka were very instinctive creatures and loved competing with each other, trying to show off who was the better Alpha. The better someone was, the more likely a challenge would be issued. Clan tradition dictated that since she got her Ninken the other children up until Genin could challenge her.
So far she's avoided the challenges thanks to them being in the Academy for half the day and Haruto keeping her at the house for the other half. 'It looks like he thinks I can handle it now.' She thought as pride filled her.
"Fine, so be it, but only Taijutsu." She said as she pulled off her bracelet and stuffed it into her pocket. She wasn't worried about losing, her stats were higher and she hadn't lied when she said he'd rather skip training.
The boy growled and threw himself at her. Kida raised a brow at how slow he was. She was used to Kakashi being many times faster, so the boy looked like he was in slow motion. She fell into her clans Taijutsu stance and met his face with her fist. She saw her opponents Ninken come at her with his fangs out, but she kept her eyes on the groaning boy.
Just as the pup was inches from her he was tackled to the ground by Zoran. The pup whimpered and got up trying to attack the smirking pup only to yelp when he was pinned down by Sessh.
Hiroshi stood and yelled when he saw his Ninken pinned down. He ran over to them only to be intercepted by Kida. She rammed her knee into his stomach and grabbed his head slamming it into the ground, knocking him out.

Her pups let go of the struggling dog and let him go back to his partner.
Kida and her pups made their way back to the group of Academy kids. They were all grinning in anticipation. "Ok, who's next." A girl stepped up this time, she was a year older and actually trained.
About an hour later, Kida and her pups layed on the ground groaning. Kida was strong enough to take first and second years easily, third years were a little rougher for her without the use of her Jutsu. But fourth was impossible. 'For now.'
"You got beat by a bunch of brats." Kakashi said as he helped her to her feet. "How come they're all challenging you?"
Kida grumbled. "Jealousy."
"Ah." She didn't need to explain any more, Kakashi was a prodigy himself and more than understood older kids' jealousy.
"That was pretty good, pup." Haruto said as he yawned coming over with Sakumo.
"Good? That was terrible." She huffed. "We should have been able to beat him, but I got over confident and underestimated him!" She dusted herself off and ushered her pups to their feet. "We will do 100 laps around the compound as punishment!" She yelled as they ran off.
Kakashi, Sakumo and Haruto sweat dropped as they watched the girl run away. Haruto saighed and made to follow after his charge, but stopped when the Hatake patriarch called him. "I'll be free pretty much all month. If it isn't too much trouble, I'd like to come by and help Kida learn some more Ninjutsu."
Haruto grinned widely and nodded. "She'd definitely love that." He said before running after the girl.
The next morning Kida squealed in happiness and threw herself at Sakumo, making the man laugh at her enthusiasm. She could hardly believe he was gonna be teaching her more Jutsu! "Thank you so much. I really appreciate this and I won't let you down!" She said as she hugged him tighter.
Kakashi made a sort of huffing noise, making her look over at him. He had his arms crossed and was glaring at his father. She raised a brow at him and jumped out of Sakumo's arms. She poked her friend on his clothed cheek. "You ok there?"
He swatted away at her hand and glared at her. "I can teach you the Jutsu that I know. You don't need my father for that." Said man sweatdropped at his words. Kakashi didn't mind having Haruto around since he usually just let them do their own thing, but if Sakumo was here all her attention would be on him.
Kida laughed and ruffled his soft hair. "Dont worry Kakashi, I won't steal your dad from yah. He'll just show me the Jutsu, then you can have him all to yourself." Kakashi made a pained sound as she turned her attention back to the laughing Sakumo. "I don't want to just learn Lightning Jutsu since I wanna master all the elements."
Sakumo raised a brow at that. "Master all of them? Well that's quite the goal you have there. How about we do a little of each and see how you do?" Kida nodded excitedly as her and her pups followed him to the training grounds. Kakashi groaned, but nevertheless followed after them.
The children did their exercises quickly before settling down in front of Sakumo, with Kida's pups off to the side play-wrestling. "The first Jutsu I'm going to teach you kids is a Water Release Jutsu called Suiton: Spray." He did a single hand sign before his cheeks bulged out and a small stream of water shot out of his mouth.
"This Jutsu is pretty basic, but it can be used to momentarily blind your opponent. Even a single second can turn the tides in a Ninja battle."
While Kakashi went ahead and started on the Jutsu, Kida closed her eyes and went into Meditation, she focused on her Chakra. Like with Lightning, she's gonna have to unlock Water Chakra. This one was a little simple since she could just remember what she knew of Avatar: The Last Airbender to get it down.
Water is the element of change. It is always changing and adapting to its environment. So she needed to make like water and change. Kida fell into her Chakra pool and let herself float there. She felt her Chakra moving around her slowly as it engulfed her.
Sakumo watched in fascination as little drops of water fell off Kida's hands. Suddenly his view was cut off by Kakashi's angry scowl. He stood in front of Kida with his arms spread out. "She's my friend so stop trying to get in the way."
Sakumo gave him a confused look. "Get in the way of what?"
Kakashi twitched and looked away. "Just stop trying to get her attention!"
Sakumo chuckled "Aww, Kakashi you have a crush on little Kida?"
The boy flinched back, his face losing color. "Of course not! I just don't like it when she smiles at you!"
Sakumo sweat dropped at the boy's words. The boy didn't even understand he had a crush on her. "Ok, ok, but I still gotta teach her Ninjutsu like I promised."
He huffed and crossed his arms. "That's fine, but only at a distance."
Sakumos scratched the back of his head. "Fine, fine, whatever you want."
Kida came back to reality to soaked hands and Kakashi scowling at his father. 'What's got him in such a bad mood?'
"Hey Kashi! What's with you today?" She scowled, making the boy flinch and turn to her in slight panic.
"Nothing! It's just we were supposed to go to the dungeon, but you got all distracted with Ninjutsu training and forgot to take us!" He said quickly, hoping she hadn't heard the conversation with his dad.
Kida chuckled and rubbed the back of her head. "My bad. How about we go tonight?"
Kakashi sighed in relief and nodded at her. Sakumo frowned, he has yet to decipher their little language. Which made no sense since he's heard it often enough to at least be able to get a few words, but still nothing.
Kida attempted the Jutsu and ended up choking on the water that gathered in her mouth. She actually lost HP from that too! Sakumo ended up having to hit her on the back so she wouldn't die.
She managed to get the Jutsu on her fourth try.

The user sends a small shot of water towards the target, which covers their face and gets into their ears momentarily blinding them. The target remains blind for .0 seconds

The kids then spent the next two hours trying to blind each other. Her Ninken though it would be funny to tackle them down whenever they were blinded. She was able to level up the Jutsu a few times.
Next they learned a fire Jutsu, which Kida found the easiest to unlock since it just required oxygen and lots of heat for her Chakra to ignite. They weren't allowed to practice this one since Sakumo didn't trust them not to burn each other on accident.
Wind was not fun to learn since she ended up cutting up her hands when she unlocked it, almost giving everyone heart attacks. After cleaning her up and remarking on her fast healing, Sakumo taught them the Whisper Wind technique. They had fun whispering to each other from across the field as they tried tagging their teacher.
Her pups have yet to learn a Jutsu, but it's only been a few days and Kida was still hopeful.
That night they went into the Zombie dungeon.
Kakashi frowned as he looked around. "I thought we were going to the next dungeon." He looked at her in question.
Kida shrugged "I thought we could farm for some more Bite drain books first for your Ninken."
Kakashi hummed. "Good idea." They went about Killing the Legion Zombie twice before deciding to head to the next level.
They appeared in another town. This one though, was a lot different than the last one. It was daytime, but the sun was partially covered by green clouds giving the area a green tint. The town was a post-apocalyptic wasteland with dilapidated buildings and roads, and the place smelled like death and acid, making their noses burn and their eyes water.
They had to be careful as they walked over trash and rubble, setting up traps here and there as they searched for Ghouls.
A few minutes in they heard a loud bang and seconds later they got 37 XP each. A Ghoul must have gotten into one of their traps. They would have to work on making quieter traps. Their eyes widened when they heard dozens of creatures head towards the sound. They quickly hid themselves, just in time to see 4 ghouls running down the broken road. They were humanoid with dull colors and stank of acid.

All Ghouls have Radiation bite, and Radiation scratch. Both attacks cause damage over time. These attacks' damage stack. They are fast, vicious and Immune to poisons. Weakness to fire.
They grimaced as they looked at each other, not only were the damn things fast, but they gave off radioactive damage. Definitely can't fight them head on. What should we do now? Sessh asked.
"This is a good opportunity to fight someone faster than us." Kakashi said. "The Zombies were slow...and weak. They were only good for XP and loot."
They came out of their hiding spot, her Ninken sticking close to her. "For now let's keep making traps and see if we can max out the skills we have." She said, getting nods from the others.
They spent the next hour making traps, only stopping when they ran out of supplies. Since they weren't academy students or a ninja, they only had a limited amount of ninja supplies.
They made their way to the center of the town, after making sure there were no Ghouls around, Kakashi and Kida created a few 13 feet tall Earth Walls, making a makeshift platform. After double checking their traps, they settled themselves on top of the platform. Kida then threw her head back and let out a loud howl. It was only a few seconds before they heard the hundreds of ghouls in town run to their location. Many fell into their traps, getting destroyed, while the others slammed into their platform, clawing to get at them. They looked nervously as the durability lowered, going faster as more ghouls reached the walls. They sent their Chakra to repair the damage and managed to keep it steady.
Kida was able to keep it indefinitely thanks to her fast recovery, while Kakashi had to take breaks. They mostly studied or used their new Jutsu on the Ghouls while grinding Earth Wall.
During the day they learned a new Jutsu from Sakumo and every few nights they would go back into the dungeon. They did this for the next few weeks.
Tonight it was just Kida and her Ninken. They were chilling at the top of her platform, playing card games and reading books as she grinded Earth wall, when Kida got a notification.

Kida hadn't thought about the wall's design for a while. She obviously needed to include dogs in her wall, specifically Sessh and Zoran, but she wasn't sure how to set it up.
It took her about half an hour to figure out what she wanted and another hour to get it perfect. Kida stood stretching out her back, looking around at the ghouls scratching at the walls still trying to get to them. If she could jump over them and land where there weren't that many she could try out her new wall. She sent her pups a reassuring smile. Both stood at attention, nervously watching her about to do something stupid.
She took a deep breath before taking a running start, when she reached the edge she pushed off with all her might, jumping as far as she could. She managed to just clear the ghouls. Landing with a roll, she immediately casted the Jutsu and just managed to get on the wall as the ghouls attacked, she got scratched by a few and one bite on her calf. She grimaced at her status. Radiation Bite did 40/s damage and Radiation Scratch did 20/s damage, giving her a total of 120/s damage. She looked back at her pups, they were staring at her wall in awe.
Doton: Great Inu Wall Lvl 1 (0% to next level) (Active)
This technique creates a wall of earth by manipulating the surrounding earth with Chakra. The great wall is infused with the creators' will. The wall has two giant dogs coming out of the wall, as if protecting the ones behind them.

She smiled, the dogs on her wall were older versions of Zoran and Sessh. Sessh was a demon dog coming out of it and Zoran was a god like dog coming out of it. They were such contrasts from their personalities, but were perfect for them. Zoran was energetic and always looking for a fight, but the pup wanted to be seen as reliable, and what was more reliable than a god? Sessh was shy and terrified of everything, but he wanted to prove he could fight and that he could be intimidating, making a demon was perfect for that.
She sat back and crossed her legs, she'd have to Meditate to get rid of the status effects and keep up with the Chakra drain to keep the wall stable. They still had several hours in the dungeon before daylight hit in the real world, so she could work on her great wall.
After a few hours she lost the status effects. She opened her eyes to see her pup had gone into Meditation. Kida laid back on her wall, not really wanting to meditate. She only needed a healing Jutsu to finish her quest. Her mother had her learning anatomy and would teach her a low level healing Jutsu soon.
Kida looked up at her hand, she's been trying to learn a new Jutsu for a while now but...it required high Chakra manipulation. She was close to the required level but progression was killing her.
She began gathering Chakra to her hand. Once she thought she had enough, she started rotating it. As it was circling on her palm she brought her other hand on top of her Chakra, making it go the other way. She focused on keeping the Chakra tight, turning it into a moving ball. Kida frowned, the skill wasn't forming so she added more Chakra until it started draining her reserves. At this point it was getting harder to control, she had to put in even more Chakra to keep it from losing the shape. She ended up having to stop, she wouldn't risk losing the wall.
Once her Chakra was back up again, she went back to recreating the Jutsu. She was able to create the ball faster this time, but it was still unstable, she kept having to add Chakra to keep it from letting the whirling Chakra from escaping. Kida bit her lip, maybe she wasn't making it fast enough. She forced the Chakra within to move faster, adding more Chakra to keep it stable. She grimaced, her reserves where draining faster
