Chapter 7
Kida frowned from her spot at her mother's side, listening to her lecture about the importance of properly cleaning wounds while in the field was boring. She'd told her mother she didn't want to be an Iryonin, but that she did want to do more than basic first aid. Her mother had been ecstatic about the idea of teaching Kida since Tsume had zero interests in her craft.
Now Kida had to shadow her mother at the clinic.
She needed to learn the anatomy of civilians, Ninja and Ninken, before her mother would teach her any Jutsu. Learning anatomy isn't a skill, it's all theory, so she was forced to learn it the old fashion way. It was tedious, but it was the fastest way to learn Iryoninjutsu, according to her mother. And the faster she learned the healing Jutsu, the more she could level it up and master it.
Kida held back a sigh. She loved her mother, but oh Kami she was bored. Uuugghhg Kida! I'm bored! Zoran moaned at her side. If Kida was going to suffer through this then so would her pups. Shhh I'm trying to pay attention! Sessh side-glared at his female companions. Right, only the two of them were suffering. Sessh had taken to medical training like fish to water.
Kida bit back a groan as her mother started quizzing her about the different symptoms of infections, again.
Kida held onto Haruto's hair tightly as he carried her through the compound. It's been a while since she left the compound and she was ecstatic. "Hey now pup, your gonna rip off my hair at this rate." Kida grimaced, apologizing as she let go of his hair. This is gonna be so awesome! Zoran exclaimed from her spot in Haruto's pocket. Sessh was in his other pocket whispering reassurances to himself. It was their first time outside.
Haruto pushed open the gates and Ninja jumped to a nearby roof. "You ready for the exam?" Kida nodded. Of course she was, she did nothing but study with Kakashi these last few days to get ready for it.
The world turned into a blur of colors, making Kida giggle. She laughed when they landed near the front gates of the Academy. Zoran had absolutely loved it while Sessh looked sick.
It was the Entrance Exam day, so there were a lot of people already milling about with little 6 year olds in hand. There had to be at least a hundred! Some were openly crying while others merely looked nervous. Kida wrinkled her nose as the overpowering smell of perfume assaulted her nose, civilians. 'Oh Kami, it's in my mouth now!' She coughed as she looked around.
She could see all the different clans. There were the Nara's, looking like they were about to fall asleep in their parents arms. The Akimichi were definitely stress eating, shoving ships into their mouths. The Yamanaka were trying to break away from their parents, trying to go play with the other children. The Aburame actually looked pretty scared of all the people around them. The Hyuuga and the Uchiha had actual sneers that were near perfect matches of their parents. She waved at the other 2 Inuzuka kids ready to take the exams. They had their pups on their heads, looking around in excitement.
There were some kids she could recognize. There was kid Kurenai, adorable, and one who she was sure was little Ebisu.
She raised a brow when she caught some of the titles on the adults. There were typical ones like Sword Master, Taijutsu Expert, Ninjutsu Master, Clan Head and some non Ninja related ones like Head Chef, Store Owner and some others. But the one title that really caught her eye was Anbu. There were only 3 people with the title that she could see, two of them from different clans and the other a civilian born.
"Hey little Kida." Kida grinned, Sakumo's voice pulling her from her thoughts. She jumped off Haruto and into Sakumo's free arm, his other occupied with a scowling Kakashi. She laughed at Kakashi's grumbling, reaching over to ruffle his soft gravity defying hair. He was wearing a dark blue mask and usual training attire of shorts, Ninja sandals, jacket and dark green scarf. He waved away her hand with an even deeper scowl. He was eyeing the crying children with disgust.
"Why are they crying?" Kakashi sneered at them. "It's just the Entrance Exam."
"Kashi. Normal kids cry when faced with a scary Entrance Exam." Kida said with a chuckle.
Kakashi just rolled his eyes, crossing his arms.
"Alright you two, come on. The exam starts soon." Haruto said as Sakumo placed them on their feet. Her pups stayed in Harutos pockets, they weren't allowed to come with her cause they might help her cheat, as if she needed the help.
Kida looked at the Academy entrance where the other kids were going through. She let out a nervous breath, she wasn't worried about passing the Entrance Exam. It's just, this was the first time she would be without her pups in over a year.
Haruto crouched down in front of Kida, smiling at his young charge. "The exam lasts a few hours." He put a reassuring hand on her shoulder. "You've been studying the Academy curriculum with me, you'll be able to pass the exam without a problem." He poked her nose making her giggle. "We'll be right out here waiting for yah, ok?"
Kida hugged him tightly, she loved this man. He chuckled, hugging her back.
"Ok, pup, go on or you'll be late." He pulled back and nudged her toward Kakashi. The boy was waiting by the gate, glaring at the sniffling kids. She skipped to him, throwing her arm around his shoulders, using him as an anchor.
They walked through the gates, hesitating when she got a notification.
Congratulations!

They quickly continued forward, following the instructions of the Academy instructors. They were Chunin rank and young looking, decked out in the standard Konoha Chunin uniform. They were handing out slips of papers to the children and directing them into the large red building. They went up to one of the Instructors, each grabbing a slip.
Kida's slip said Rm 101 and Kakashi's said Rm 103. They had different rooms to take the exams. It made sense, there were too many kids to fit in one room and they clearly don't want them to be in the same room as people they knew.
Kida walked into the exam room. It looked like a small amphitheater with several rows of seats and windows on the far wall. A podium sat at the front of the class with a chalk board behind it and a clock above that. There were some kids already sitting, two to a row. They were quietly waiting for the exam to start. There was a Chunin instructor standing behind the podium.
His name was Daisuke, no last name, level 47. "Hurry up and grab a seat, brat. I don't care where, just make sure you leave a space between you and the other examinee, and stay quiet." He sounded bored, barely looking up from the book he was reading. Kida went to the closest available seat. She fought back a giggle when she saw her feet didn't reach the ground. The chairs were made for 6 year olds, not 3 year olds. Her seatmate was a bored looking civilian boy.
Kida kicked her feet as she waited for the class to finish filling up. After a few minutes of no one coming in, Daisuke walked to the door closing and locking it. "You will not cheat, if you are caught cheating you will automatically fail the exam." He said, passing out exam booklets and pencils. "You will stay in your seat until I call for the end of the exam. When you are done, you will lay your head on your arms and stay quiet. You have 2 hours." He looked at the clock. "Your time starts now."

Kida grabbed her pencil reading over the cover page, she wrote her name and age on the line provided before opening her booklet. She frowned at the questions.

Kida flipped the page, all the questions were of similar difficulty. All painfully simple and easy. The hardest question she found was a childrens kanji riddle. Kida glanced around the room. Most of the children looked like they were struggling with the first page.
Kida sighed and started writing the answers, barely having to think them through.
Out of 2 hours she finished in 17 minutes.

She pushed away her booklet and laid her head down. She might as well Meditate while she waited. Kida heard Daisuke walk up to her table and pick up her booklet. He flipped through it, making a humming sound before taking the booklet with him and setting it on the podium.
Kida came out of Meditation when the instructor called the end of the exam. The kids still taking the exam groaned. "We're going outside to do the physical test. Bring up your booklets and line up by the door."
Kida was the first at the door since Daisuke had taken her booklet at the beginning. Once they were all lined up, Daisuke led them out of the room and through the halls. Kida memorised the layout of the building, not wanting to risk getting lost in all the twist and turns.
Outside was a simple training ground similar to the one in the Inuzuka compound, only bigger. It had Taijutsu training posts, targets for throwing practice, an obstacle course, and a running track.
Daisuke led them first to the Obstacle course. "Alright, it'll be two at a time, so make two rows." Once everyone was in place, Daisuke pulled out a stopwatch. "When I give the signal, you will both run through. You have 10 minutes to get through. If you have not gotten through by the end then you get penalized, but that doesn't mean you failed. When you're done, you can go stand over there." He gestured to the side.
Kida was first up with the civilian boy. She ignored his sneer as she crouched down and put one hand on the ground, activating her Four-Legged Technique.

At Daisuke's signal the boy took off, thinking beating the little girl was gonna be easy. He stumbled when a blur passed by him and surprised shouts rose up behind him.
He looked back, expecting to see the Inuzuka behind him, but she wasn't there. She'd disappeared.
Kida was about as fast as a fourth year Academy student. With the boost from her Four-Legged technique, she was just as fast as a fresh Genin. To her there wasn't much of a difference, but she was aiming for the highest score she could get and that meant using everything to her advantage.
She landed at the end of the course in 12 seconds. She wasn't even breathing hard.

She fist bumped. 'Hell yeah!'
She ran back to the group and went to stand at the side. She grinned and waved at the children giving her awed looks. The Instructor was writing down her score on his clipboard.
She looked over her profile for a moment before dropping some points onto AGI.
Congratulations! You have increased your AGI skill to 100. You have unlocked a perk related to AGI.

'Huh, I was hoping for something speed related, but I guess this'll work too.' She thought as she put her hands behind her head, watching the other children take their turns. It took almost an hour for them to get through everyone. Only a few of them managed to get through the course.
"Ok bratlings," Daisuke gestured for them to follow him to the track. "Ten of you will go at the same time. You'll be doing 10 laps. There's no time limit for this one, but you will be timed. The slower you are, the worse your score's gonna be."

Kida got to the starting point and fell into her stance, ignoring the glaring civilian boy. He's been glaring at her since the obstacle course. 'What's his problem?'
"Ready? Set, go!" Kida took off like a bullet. She was forced to jump over the boy when the brat stuck his leg out whenever she lapped him. The look on his face when she went over his head had her in stitches. She still managed to finish within a minute.

Kida whopped and fist pumped again. She's so awesome. She went off to stand at the side, waiting for the rest of the kids to finish. Her nose twitched and she looked up when she caught Kakashi's scent. Him and his group had just come out of the building and were lining up at the Obstacle course.
Kakashi was, of course, up first. She chuckled when she saw him beat the old record, but not the new one she'd just set.
Her attention was pulled away from him when her Instructor called for them to move onto the next test. Kunai and shuriken throwing. Those who knew how to handle the weapons were allowed to go first, while those that had never held the weapons, AKA the civilians, had to wait for the teacher to show them how to hold them. Kida was just barely able to break the record since throwing weapons was her biggest weakness.
The final test was Ninjutsu. All it involved was holding a leaf to their fingertips with Chakra for 5 seconds. Kida, being extra, held a leaf on each of her fingers and spun them.
Once the tests were done the Instructor led them back inside, where they went to a room marked infirmary.
"Line up against the wall and sit down, you can talk amongst yourselves while you wait, but don't be loud." Daisuke said before disappearing inside.
Kida smiled as she sat down with the other kids. They started whispering to each other, asking about how they were doing on the tests so far. Kida's ears twitched when she heard the civilian boy. "She's gotta be cheating. She stopped working on the test almost at the beginning. The physical tests had to be a fluke. I mean, there's no way a little brat could move that fast. My father said Inuzuka were stupid animals, but I didnt think they would be stupid enought to send a little brat barely out of diapers." Kida rolled her eyes at the boys sneering words.
The other kids were actually scowling at him since they'd all seen what she did with their own eyes. There was no way she was cheating.
"Don't listen to him, he's clearly jealous of you." Kida turned to look at the girl sitting next to her. "Why? Because you are a clan child and he is not." The girl wore the typical Aburame white overcoat and sunglasses. She had long black hair tied back in a ponytail. She smelled of fire, steel, insects and another smell Kida wasn't familiar with.
"I am Aburame Kimiko, we should be friends." The child said. "Why? Because when we graduate we will most likely be put into a tracking team together with a Hyuuga, as is tradition. It would be logical to learn to get along now."
The girl, Kimiko, had started the conversation, but Kida could see she was nervous. Her hopeful smile was strained and her shoulders were set tight, tense, like she expected to be rejected.
Kida grinned widely at the girl. "I'm Kida, Inuzuka Kida, just call me Kida. I'd love to be your friend." Her smile widened when the girl relaxed and her smile became genuine.

"If you don't mind me asking, what kind of Kikaichu are you partnered with?" Kimiko's smile got wider. She happily talked about her favorite topic, insects. "I have the Kochu! They are best used for assassinations."
They ended up talking about the different insects her clan uses, there were more than Kida had realized, until Daisuke came out with an Iryonin.
"Inuzuka Kida?" Kida jumped up from her spot on the ground and followed the healer inside.
You have entered the Academy infirmary
+20% to CP and HP regeneration.
The room looked like a typical school nurses office with 4 child size beds against one wall, an office area in the corner, and cabinets lining the opposite wall. The healer sat at her desk and patted the seat in front of her. "Hop on Inuzuka-chan. This is just gonna take just a few minutes." The whole procedure was like a doctor's check up in her old world. Once she was done prodding, poking, and asking questions, the healer handed her a purple lollipop.
Kida stuck the lollipop in her mouth and stepped outside the room. Another group was sitting against the wall opposite her. She grinned when she saw Kakashi looking bored at the front of the group. She stuck her purple colored tongue at the boy, making him roll his eyes.
One at a time kids went into the infirmary, each coming out with a lollipop. Once everyone in her group finished, Daisuke led them back to the testing room. Once they were all back in their seats, the Chunin instructor pulled out their score sheets. "The Academy has 3 classes for the first years." He passed out the booklets as he spoke. "Those who pass will be separated into 3 classes; 1A, 1B, and 1C. Those who fail won't be joining the Academy this year."
Kida looked at the large 1A underneath 5 rows of 100% for each test written on her paper, groans of disappointment and shouts of triumph filled the room. She got a perfect score.
Kida smirked when she saw the civilian boy groaning at his 73% over all score.
"Alright brats, get out of here and come back in two weeks for the Entrance Ceremony."
Kimiko followed Kida out of the room at the teacher's dismissal. "Kida-san, would you like to go Cicada hunting with me tomorrow?"
Kida nodded enthusiastically. "That sounds like fun! Just say when and where and I'll meet yah."
Kimiko nodded. "Come by the Hashirama park in the morning at 6. Why? The Cicada are most active at dawn and there are plenty in those woods."
They stepped out of the building with the rest of the kids. Some of them were happily waving their score papers as they ran to their parents, while others bawled their eyes out. Kida caught sight of Kakashi making his way toward her. "I'll see you tomorrow morning then?"
The girl nodded happily. "I must go as well. Why? My brother is here to pick me up." Kida waved goodbye to the girl, raising a brow at the Aburame teen that had come for her. It was Chibi, Shino's dad.
"Who was that?" Kakashi asked next to her.
Kida grinned. "My new friend. Her name's Aburame Kimiko. I'm going to go Cicada hunting with her tomorrow."
Kakashi scowled. "By yourself?" He asked as they made their way to where Sakumo, Haruto, and her pups were waiting.
"No, the pups'll go with me."
"Where is it you're going to?" Haruto asked as he picked Kida up and placed her on his shoulders.
"To the Hashirama park to hunt Cicada with my new friend." Kida said happily.
Kakashi glared at her as his dad picked him up. "I'm going too." He said with a huff crossing his arms. "I can't leave you to go meet an unknown person all by yourselves. Knowing you, you'll just get yourself into trouble." Kida shrugged, she didn't care either way.
"What yah wanna do now, pup?" Haruto asked as he placed her on his shoulders, walking away from the Academy. Sakumo walked next to them, carrying Kakashi on his shoulders. Kakashi didn't normally like being carried, but he didn't like having to strain his neck to talk to Kida.
Kida grinned widely. "I wanna go checkout the library and I wanna try out the different restaurants and I wanna go to the top of Hokage mountain and I wanna see the training grounds and-"
"-Ok! Ok!" Haruto interrupted her with a smile. "How about we just get something to eat first?" Kida nodded quickly, whenever they left the compound it was either to the Hatake house or to the park.
"Honestly pup, what kinda Inuzuka kid wants to go to the library?" Haruto muttered, making Kida giggle.
Kida spent the ride watching the sights. Konoha was loud, how did she not hear any of this in the compound?
They arrived at Yakiniku Q, an Akimichi owned BBQ restaurant. Kida's mouth watered at the delicious scents. "Kida! Stop drooling on me!" Kida wiped the drool of her mouth, laughing at Haruto's indignant huff. "No! Not you two!" Sakumo joined in on the laughter while Kakashi looked at them in disgust when they saw her pups filling Haruto's pockets with drool. "Ugghh." The poor man groaned as he pushed open the door to the restaurant, the door was large enough that she didn't have to duck when they went through.
The young Akimichi at the entrance led them to an empty booth. There was a stove in the middle of their table, already hot and waiting for them. Haruto set her down and she and her pups scrambled into the seat, Kakashi quickly joining them. Haruto sat on the inside with Sakumo next to him looking over the menu. "Anything specific you want pups?"
"Pork!" Kida said loudly, drumming her hands on the table. "With sweet bbq!" Her pups nodded excitedly.
"I want eggplant." Kakashi said, looking at the menu his dad was holding up. They gave their order to the waiter.
"So did you guys pass?" Sakumo asked as they waited for their food to arrive.
Kakashi scoffed. "You really gotta ask? We obviously got perfect scores. I got class 1A"
"So did I." Kida nodded "The test was stupid easy. I thought I would die from boredom!" She said dramatically.
Haruto rolled his eyes. "Stop exaggerating." Their food arrived and they placed their food on the stove. Kida liked it just slightly burnt, so she left hers on a little while longer. Kida shoved her food directly from the stove into her mouth, yelping slightly in pain.
- 5HP
You now have the Burn status.
She was losing 2HP every second. She shrugged, shoving more food into her mouth. Kida looked over at the other table occupants when she realized they were quiet. "What?" The adults were looking at her with concern and Kakashi was eyeing the burn status next to her name.
She shrugged and continued eating, only for her shopsticks to get snatched away by a scowling Haruto. She gave him a low pitiful whine. "My fooood!"
"Calm down for Kami's sake." Haruto rolled his eyes as he blew on her meat, cooling it off. "I swear, for someone so ready to be a Ninja, you sure need a lot of babying. Even your pups don't need this much care."
Haruto handed her meat back, it was no longer burning hot. She happily munched on her food as Haruto disregarded his own food in favor of getting the rest of hers ready.
Kakashi shook his head at his friend. "Why exactly are we going to...'play' with the Aburame tomorrow?" He was hiding his face behind the menu while eating his food. He had yet to master the art of eating fast.
Sakumo sighed "Kakashi you need to socialize with more people than just Kida. This is a good opportunity to make a friend."
Kakashi just scoffed from behind the menu
"It's ok, Oji. I heard that Cicada are somewhat hard to find even for Inuzuka in training since they have such a subtle scent. I'm sure Kakashi just doesn't want to be embarrassed when he gets shown up by a normal kid." Kida shrugged, fighting back her smirk as she felt Kakashi bristle up beside her. She had no doubt Kakashi knew what she was doing, but his pride wouldn't allow him to let that challenge go. "I'll just tell Kimiko you're tired from training with your dad or something, no worries Kashi."
Sakumo and Haruto snickered as they watched the myriad of emotions go through the boy's eyes.
"Fine, whatever." He growled. "I better get some EXP out of this when I beat you." He whispered in English. The adults looked at each other in amusement when they heard the gibberish coming out of the boys mouth. They had made a game out of trying to decipher their language, they have yet to succeed.
Soon they were finished and, with their meal paid for, they were on their way. Kida and her pups ran ahead of the group with Kakashi right behind them, the two men walked after them at a more sedated pace.
Kida giggled as she weaved through the crowds at the marketplace. There were soooo many people. She was awed when she noticed how many Uchiha there were compared to the other clans. Most of the men had the title KMPO for Konoha Military Police Officer.
She stopped at a stall that sold accessories. She typically had no interest in such things and as a Ninja they would just get in the way, but she was starting the Academy and she wanted to get out of the Inuzuka mold and become her own person. Like how Kakashi had his famous mask, or Guy had his green spandex.
"You find something you like, pup?" Haruto asked from behind her. Kida nodded, pointing at the bandanas hanging from the stall.
The old lady manning the stall smiled down at her. "What color do you want?"
Kida picked up Sessh first so he could get a better look at the options. "Which one do you want?" The old lady laughed, but indulged her and waited for the pups 'response.'
Sessh eyed the different colored bandanas. "That one, the yellow and blue one."
The old woman startled back, not expecting the dog to start talking. To her credit, she composed herself quickly and pulled down the desired bandana. Kida quickly switched out pups, picking Zoran up.
Zoran took a bit longer to decide, but she finally settled on a dark blue bandana with white lightning bolts.
Kida already knew which one she wanted from the beginning, as soon as she saw it she'd fallen in love with it. It was a green bandana with a falling leaves pattern.
As Haruto paid for her purchases, she tied the bandanas around her pups and herself. This was just the first step to becoming individuals and damn did she make the right choice. They looked good with the new additions.
They posed a bit as Sakumo complimented their new looks.
Kakashi just rolled his eyes at her antics. 'She doesn't need accessories to look good' He thought with a slight blush behind his mask.
They made their way through Konoha, arriving at the library.
Congratulations!

Kida and Kakashi shared a look. It seems they found the perfect place to study. They went up to the receptionist, the head librarian. She was ancient, with gray hair, wrinkles and beady little eyes behind small glasses perched at the end of her pointed nose.
She sneered when she saw the pups. "No pets allowed."
Kida scowled as Zoran growled in offense. "They are Ninken of the Inuzuka clan. Not pets." Kida knew the law, her Ninken were allowed wherever she went and legally the librarian couldn't kick them out.
The old woman just sneered at her.
"We want to know where the Academy books are." Kakashi said with a scowl, not liking the obvious disrespect to his friend.
The woman looked like she was about to tell them off, but one look at the scowling Jonin and pissed off adult Inuzuka behind the children and she changed her mind. She pointed to a staircase on the far back of the library.
The children quickly walked through the room full of civilian friendly books and made their way up the stairs. There were already a few Academy students doing homework and whatnot. Kakashi and Kida walked through the shelves, looking for anything worthwhile.
After about 5 minutes they came back to each other with frowns. As it turned out they had gone through all the available books already. When Haruto said he had been teaching her the curriculum she hadn't expected to have gone through the whole 6 years worth of books already.
She pouted before catching sight of another staircase. It was roped off with a sign that said Genin and above only and was guarded by 2 bored looking Genin. She elbowed Kakashi, pointing at the staircase. Kakashi scowled when he realized what she wanted. "No, we'll get in trouble." He hissed quietly.
Kida scoffed "Not if we don't get caught." When his scowl didn't let up, she rolled her eyes. "I guess you wanna spend the rest of the year bored, huh? You wanna relearn how to add and subtract, huh? Or how to spell your name?"
Kakashi looked sick for a moment, before shaking his head. "Fine, whatever, but it's your butt on the line if they catch us." She smiled triumphantly before motioning for him to follow her. They looked back at their minders, they were distracted with some of the books, laughing with each other over the inaccuracies in them. They created some illusion clones and jumped out the window and walked up the side of the building. They settled under the next floor's window.
Using the reflection of a Kunai, Kakash looked to see if the coast was clear. He saw a third Genin sleeping by the window and 2 others studying scrolls.
The four of them transformed themselves into older kids, complete with Hitai-ate. Kida snorted quietly when she saw her pups looked identical to her. After a bit of coaching, Zoran looked like a female younger version of Haruto and Sessh looked like a younger version of the original Sesshomaru. She was proud of that one.
After double checking for traps and that the Genin was still sleeping, they slipped inside. "Ok guys, we may not have a lot of time so let's grab as many scrolls as we can."

Kida frowned at the quest. "It doesn't matter how many we get. Don't Get Caught!" They nodded before separating. Kida casually walked through the bookshelves and when she was sure no one was looking, she would shove a random scroll in her inventory, more interested in not getting caught than what she was grabbing.
A couple scrolls later she was fingering a scroll getting ready to move it to her inventory when she felt the hair on the back of her neck stand on end. She was snatched up by the back of her coat.
She was so startled that she dropped out of the Jutsu. "And what do we have here? A lost puppy perhaps?"
She chuckled nervously at the amused Jonin. "Hi." She gave him a small wave.
He walked to where the Genin was sleeping and slammed his hand on the table next to him. The kid jumped up with a yell and fell on his behind. "Sensei!" The boy yelled before pailing, realizing he'd been caught sleeping on duty. The other Genin guarding the staircase appeared, freezing when they saw Kida hanging from their sensei's hand. They turned angry glares at their teammate. "You fell asleep again didn't you?! This is why we failed the Chunin exams!" The girl screamed at the boy.
Kida saw her pups and Kakashi sending her concerned looks from various spots around the room, she subtly shook her head at them while the Jonin was distracted with scolding his student. They nodded back, waiting to move in if necessary.
Just then Haruto and Sakumo jumped in through the window. Haruto scowled at the Jonin holding Kida, "That belongs to me." He growled snatching her away, checking her over for injuries.
The Jonin froze for a moment when he caught sight of Sakumo. "White Fang." He nodded his head at Sakumo. Why'd it have to be him that had to see his kids slacking off. 'How embarrassing.' He thought with a grimace.
"Your students failed in their duties and mine broke the rules." Sakumo kept his face serious, but his eyes were dancing with amusement. "So how are we dealing with this?"
The Jonin sensei thought about it for a moment, he'd need to punish his kids for this, but putting a mark on their permanent record didn't sit well with him. "How about this; if my kids can find the rest of yours then they get off the hook for failing in their duties and yours will be banned from the library for a few months." The Genin looked hopeful at that. "But if yours manage to stay hidden then I wont tell the librarian they snuck up here and mine will suffer the full consequences."
The Genin got determined looks, they began searching for the other intruders. Kida snickered as the Jonin sensei groaned, face palming. His students completely disregarded Kakashi and the pups, thinking they were regular Genin.
"They're right there for Kamis sake!" The sensei yelled pointing at the fake Genin. The students converged on the fake Genin. They made a hand sign and yelled "KAI!" when nothing happened they looked back at their sensei in confusion, who just gave them disappointed looks.
The Jonin scolded them and sent them back to their posts, switching the one who had fallen asleep with the girl. Kakashi and her pups dropped the transformation Jutsu and moved to join their group. The Jonin sighed and turned to Sakumo with a grimace.
Sakumo gave him a reassuring smile. "I won't report you if you let our kids look through the books and scrolls here. I think they proved their worth enough."
The sensei sighed in relief, nodding. Kida jumped out of Harutos arms and headed to the Water Jutsu section while Kakashi followed with a frown. "I thought you wanted to master Earth?" He asked confused as Kida looked over the scrolls.
Kida grinned, "I wanna master all the elements."
Kakashi's eyes widened in understanding and began going through scrolls other than Lightning.
They kept an eye out as they snatched and stored some useful looking scrolls. Unfortunately there weren't many options since there were only E-C rank Jutsu. Once they were done they decided to just look through some scrolls before heading to their adults. "We're good to go."
They raised a brow at them. "That fast?" You dont wanna check out some of them?" Sakumo asked.
She waved away his concern. "Nah, we memorised some of the scrolls and want to try them on our own. We're good."
Their caretakers gave them suspicious looks but let it go since they couldn't see them hiding anything.
As they exited the library, ignoring the librarian's suspicious looks, Kida looked at the time. Night would come soon and she wanted to see the monument before they went home.
She pushed Kakashi's shoulder. "Bet I can get to the top of the First Hokage before you." She took off toward the mountain laughing. She Ninja jumped and took to the roofs, smiling when she heard Kakashi and her pups close behind her.
They made it to the bottom of the mountain and used Chakra to run up the mountain side. Kida got to her hands and feet, propelling herself further up. Kakashi ran up past her making her frown, she was definitely faster than him, then she saw a thin layer of electricity covering his body. She growled, he was using Lightning Armour to make himself faster, something she hasn't learned yet.
She activated her Four-legged Technique. Unfortunately, he was already too far ahead.
Kakashi gave her a smug look when she finally reached the top. She handed over the usual prize of treats with a huff.
Kida sat with her pups on top of her favorite Hokage's head, the first, looking over Konoha as the sun set. It's been just over 3 years since she was born into this world. Over her time here she had debated on whether or not she should change things or keep to cannon. She had finally come to a decision.
Kida was not a savior. She was not about to change things because it was the right thing to do. She wasn't about to risk her life for people she didn't even know.
But she also wasn't gonna stand back as her home was invaded and destroyed over and over again. She wouldn't do nothing as the people she knew and had come to love were hurt and killed.
She wasn't gonna keep Sakumo from killing himself because he was the White Fang or cause he was one of her favorite characters. She would save him because he brought her the best treats whenever he returned from long missions. Cause he would train both her and Kakashi when he wasn't busy. Because he was one of her favorite uncles. No, she couldn't let him die. She loved him too much.
And Kakashi, somewhere between constant teasing and endless competitions, he had stopped being the Copy-Nin Kakashi and had simply become Kakashi, her best friend. She would do everything she could to make sure he didn't suffer.
She wasn't a savior, but by Kami she would protect her family.
Daisuke was going over the test results for this year's newbies with the rest of the instructors in the teachers lounge. Or at least, he was going over a specific kids test.
"Oh man, this year's kids are promising!" Daisuke looked up to Chivas, the Instructor for class 1B. "The Ninja raised kids scored high in all the tests like usual, but even some of the civilian kids did too."
"The Hokage's son is here this year and already he's showing us he is his father's son." one of the instructor assistants said.
"Did you see the Hatake boys scores?" Aoi, class 1C's instructor, spoke up. "He had the highest scores I've ever seen for the entrance exam. I wouldn't be surprised if he graduated as early as this year."
Daisuke smirked and kept his eyes on the file in his hands.
"Hey, Daisuke!" He looked up at his fellow Chunin.
"You haven't said anything yet." Aoi said "Who you gonna bet graduates this year?" She asked, putting 5,000¥ in the betting hat.
He placed the file he was holding on the table and slid it to her. Their eyes widened when they saw the name. "An Inuzuka?" Chivas snorted. "Well, if you want to lose that's fine too." He said dismissively.
Aoi put down the hat and picked up the file, looking through it. She gasped at what she read. "No way! She has a higher score than the Hatake boy on everything but the throwing test!?"
