Chapter 8

The next day Kida arrived at Hashirama park with a reluctant Kakashi in tow. If he didn't want to come then why did he? Zoran asked sending a glare at Kakashi as they made their way through the park. Kida shrugged sniffing at the air, searching for Kimiko, but it looked like they got there first. Being so early in the morning there was only a Genin team doing maintenance.

Hashirama park was the biggest civilian friendly forest park in Konoha. It was full of giant Hashirama trees and was a popular place for birthday parties.

Sakumo and Haruto went to take a seat at one of the picnic tables that littered the park, keeping half an eye on the kids. Sessh was still sleeping in Haruto's pocket.

Kida leant against one of the trees and pulled out a quarter. She rolled her eyes when the boy huffed again and sat next to her with a pout. "Kashi, you're the one who insisted on coming. You better not be rude to my new friend." She said as she flipped the quarter, grinding her LUK.

Kakashi scoffed, "Why do you even wanna be friends with her? You already have me and the pups. What more do you want?"

Kida stopped flipping her coin and looked at her friend in disbelief. 'No way…!' "Are you jealous?" She laughed when his ears turned red. "You are!"

"Of course not!" He denied. "I just think we could be doing something productive like training. Instead we're going to waste our morning playing with some snot nose-Gah!" Kida kicked him on the side when she caught Kimiko's scent.

Kida ignored Kakashi's angry glare as she waved at her friend. Kimiko was running up to them followed by an adult from her clan. "Hello Kida-san!" She smiled at her friend, but hesitated when she saw Kakashi scowling at Kida.

Kida giggled. "Don't worry about him. He's just here for decoration." She ignored Kakashi's indignant shout and Zoran's laughing bark and grabbed her new friend's sleeve. "C'mon, let's get some Cicade!"

They spent the morning looking and finding quite a few of the insects before parting ways midday. Even the huffy Kakashi had gotten somewhat into it.

Kida and Kakashi were in her backyard, studying the scrolls they had snatched from the library. Some were useful and others not so much, but they might as well learn all of them since they already had them.

Kida was looking over an Earth Jutsu scroll while Kakashi was studying a Lightning one. She couldn't just absorb the scrolls since Kakashi needed them to learn the Jutsu as well.

She put down the scroll and did the hand Signs. "Doton: Hiding like a mole technique!" She yelled. Her Chakra enveloped her and she dove into the ground. It was odd. It felt as hard as the ground, but she could easily 'swim' through it like water.

She stayed under for a while. Thanks to her high recovery and chakra control bonus, she wasn't spending any Chakra on the Jutsu.

Doton: Hiding like a mole technique has leveled up!

The higher the level on this Jutsu, the easier and faster she moved underground. She smirked and launched herself out of the ground, tackling Kakashi.

The boy screamed and a wrestling match ensued. Of course, having had the element of surprise, she managed to pin the boy down. She laughed as he grumbled under her. When she sat back Kakashi flipped them over. He used one hand to push her face into the ground and the other to twist her arm behind her back.

"Haha, I win." The boy said smugly. Kida just rolled her eyes. They froze when Haruto looked out the door at the commotion. He looked over their stolen scrolls and the position they were in. He blinked, shrugged and went back inside.

The kids gave a sigh of relief. Kakashi let go of Kida and went back to his Jutsu. Kida picked up a different scroll. It was a Water Jutsu scroll Suiton: Water Bubble. Individually they were useless, but when there were dozens at a time it could be devastating.

She went through the hand signs and casted the Jutsu. She then proceeded to choke on the water that gathered in her mouth. Kakashi and her pups sent her concerned looks as she coughed.

Learning Jutsu like normal people was gonna kill her. She wiped her face off and tried the Jutsu again. Suiton: Spray involved her spitting the water out while with Bubble she was forced to turn it into a bubble as it left her mouth. Her next few tries involved either choking or the bubble exploding in her mouth. She lost a lot of HP thanks to that.

Suiton: Water Bubble Lvl 0 (0% to next level) (Active)
The user creates a Chakra formed bubble from their mouths, this bubble on contact or from the release of the user, will explode with mild damage at the users' will upon release of the technique.
Cost of Chakra 50 per bubble (-25% Chakra cost)

Kida beamed at the little bubble in front of her. She sent it to a tree where it exploded, before grabbing the Lightning Jutsu scroll Kakashi had just discarded. She was gonna grind that against the Zombies tonight.

Tomorrow they would be starting the Academy, but tonight they were Ghoul hunting. Well, first they were gonna kill a Legion Zombie so Kakashi could give that last skill book to his Ninken.

They arrived in the Zombie dungeon, ready for 8 days worth of training.

"Lets see who gets the most kills tonight." Kakashi said as he stretched.

Kida smirked. "There's actually something I wanna show yah." Kakashi looked over at her curiously.

Kida smirked, raising her hand "Rasengan!"

Kakashi's eyes widened as his mouth fell open in awe behind his mask. He got closer to the spiralling blue sphere examining it. "What is that?"

Kida's smirk grew, she turned and jumped to a nearby house, she twisted in the air and rammed the Rasengan into the roof. Kakashi's eyes widened when the roof exploded.

"That was amazing! What was that Jutsu?!" He yelled excitedly.

Kida giggled at the boy's excitement. "That was the Rasengan. It's a Jutsu of pure Chakra that relies heavily on Chakra control and manipulation. It was first used by Otsutsuki Asura thousands of years ago. The Nidaime Hokage recreated this Jutsu, but didn't get the chance to pass it on before his death."

Kakashi tilted his head. "Otsutsuki Asura?"

She waved away his question. "I'll tell you his story before bed tonight. Anyway," She wiggled her brows, "Wanna learn it?"

It has been a few hours since Kakashi started learning the Rasengan and the boy was not succeeding. Her pups had left to work on their stats and kill Zombies, since she fixed their experience distribution they were getting the full benefits of their kills.

Kida looked up from the book she was reading at Kakashi's frustrated yell. "You want some help?" The boy took a deep breath, trying to calm himself. He finally nodded looking absolutely miserable.

Kida smiled, settling herself infront of him. The Rasengan was Chakra extensive to make and maintain. Kakashi's problem was that he didn't have the high Chakra manipulation necessary for this Jutsu. So he'd waste a lot of Chakra trying to get the shape down that he'd run out mid way through and was forced to start all over. It was a vicious cycle.

Kida grabbed his right hand. "Pour your Chakra out and I'll guide yah on what to do."

Kakashi frowned. "But isn't it harder to control someone else's Chakra?"

Kida shrugged. "There shouldn't be a problem if you don't fight me." Hopefully this wouldn't blow up on them, literally.

When Kakashi began pouring his Chakra out she grabbed on to it with her own, guiding it into a swirl. She kept it like that for a few seconds until she was sure Kakashi had it, then she let go. He put his other hand over the swirl and started pouring out Chakra from that hand. Kida quickly grabbed on to the Chakra and began guiding that one as well. Once Kakashi had the whirlpools she coaxed some of it to form a sphere. This was the hardest part, forcing the whirlpools to combine into a hurricane within and making the sphere hold them together.

They ended up having to stop because Kakashi ran out of Chakra. Kida waited for the panting boy to catch his breath, giving him a health potion. It took them three more tries before she was able to form the Rasengan in his hands and, after a quick warning not to throw it, Kakashi tested out his new Jutsu.

+ 20 Rep with Hatake Kakashi

It didn't do as much damage as Kida's had, but he was pleased with the results. This was now his most powerful Jutsu.

He practiced the technique a few times before Kida called him back.

"Ready to face the boss of the next dungeon?"

Kakashi was in the middle of killing Ghouls with Rasengan when they all suddenly dropped.

WARNING!

You have killed 100 ghouls in 1 night and have alerted the apex predator of a threat to his territory.

A roar broke through the air, quickly followed by a scream

'Kida!' Kakashi ran toward the scream, he stopped when Kida and her pups ran around the corner headed straight for him, a huge grin on her face. "It's a Deathclaw!" She yelled as they ran past him.

Kakashi frowned and ran after them. "What's a Deathclaw?!"

She skidded to a halt and pointed in the direction they had been running from. "That!"

Kakashi's eyes widened when he caught sight of the boss monster. It was a large 9 foot humanoid lizard with 3 horns protruding from its head. Each of its teeth was a fang bigger than Kakashi's hand and its claws were about as big as his feet.

The Deathclaw is an apex predator able to rip apart anything within seconds, it has Poison scratch. It is immune to fire, acid, and poisons

Kida slammed her hands onto the earth. "Doton: Great Inu Wall"

It didn't stand a chance. The Deathclaw easily ripped through the wall with a roar. She turned, grabbing Sessh since he was the slowest of the four, they bolted out of there.

They hid themselves in the wreckage of a house, ducking whenever the Deathclaw came too close. "Ok guys, ideas, Go." They just stared at her in disbelief. We can't fight that thing. Sessh whined It's a monster! Their instincts were going haywire faced with such a powerful predator.

"We can't leave. It's a boss, which means I'D Escape isn't working." The pup whimpered, huddling closer to her.

"Breathe. You gotta let Gamer's Mind do its job." Kakashi kept a look out as she helped her pups calm down.

"It's Chunin level which we are not, so it'll be tough to take out. We can't attack head on cause it'll rip us apart and we have to be careful with its tail if we come at it from the back." Kakashi said, looking over the profile. "We can set traps, but we don't have enough to take it out."

She looked at her ninken for a moment. "Any ideas?"

"...Flank Attack?" Zoran said with uncertainty. Kida nodded "We'll have to do Dynamic marking first. Kakashi, you can follow up with a Rasengan while it's distracted."

With that they headed around the Deathclaw, getting ahead of its path to cut it off. They watched as the beast ambled through the ruins, searching for them. Once it got close enough, Sessh jumped over it using Dynamic marking. The beast roared in anger turning to chase after the pup. It didn't get far since both Kida and Zoran rammed into it with Gatsuuga.

The beast let out a roar. It turned to slash at them, only to be met with a Rasengan to the side of its head. He roared, running in the direction he saw the girls disappeared. Sessh slammed into it with Tsuuga from behind, making it stumble forward. The Deathclaw roared, stomping around and slashing at everything his eyes landed on.

Kida smirked down at the enraged monster. They were back on a ledge. They did quite a bit of damage, but not enough, if they continued like this they would take a while. With the Legion Zombie they didn't have to worry about its hits landing because it was too slow, but not with the Deathclaw. It was much more mobile, which meant a greater chance of getting hit.

They needed to do a lot more damage and none of their Jutsu did high enough damage yet. They watched the beast moving through the ruins. As she studied it, an idea started to form. They were small enough that it will work.

She turned to her team with a grin. "I just came up with a new battle strategy." Her pups cocked their heads curiously, while Kakashi looked at her suspiciously. "I call it Blood sucker."

The Deathclaw stopped its rampage at the sight of the grey haired male and grey pup standing a few feet away from it. The monster roared, charging at the children.

They turned tail and ran away, managing to just avoid its swipes. The Deathclaw stopped when it felt something land on its back. It shook itself to dislodge the thing, to no avail. It couldn't reach whatever it was with its claws and it couldn't maneuver its tail enough to flick it off.

The boy from before threw metal pointy things at it, getting his attention again. It chased after the child, ignoring the thing on its back for now.

Kida sighed when the Deathclaw chased after Kakashi, she couldn't believe that had worked. Sessh and Kida were on its back, ready to start their side of the plan. They looked at each other one last time before biting into the Deathclaws back, activating Bite Drain. The technique wasn't strong but if they did it at the same time it would do double damage, which meant that 1 minute meant 24,000 points of damage. Roughly 2 minutes later the beast dissolved into nothing.

Kida whooped at the notification. Not only did she level up, but she got a free perk from it. She could talk to animals now!

She laughed when she saw her new perks. They were awesome!

She grinned when she saw her companions had leveled up too. While Kakashi went over his profile, Kida helped her pups distribute their points. She focused on their weaknesses, since they had a hard time gaining stats for them.

They finally turned their attention to the loot.

"Since normal people don't regenerate their health, we can hack away at their health no problem." Kida smirked, looking over their loot. "That is how we take out an opponent that's so much stronger than us."

Zoran joined them, sniffing at the contents it dropped. 20,000¥, 4 Health potions and armor. The armor looked like a military vest for dogs, but was made out of thick leather and had fang spikes coming out of the shoulders and around the back of the neck part.

Dogmeats Deathclaw armor
The vest of the most loyal canine companion
Absorbs 20% of all damage

"Ooohhhh." The four of them looked at each other in awe, this armor was hella useful. Kida put the vest in her inventory. They'd keep it there until they did missions as Ninjas. They'd need to kill a lot of Deathclaws to get enough for Kakashi's Ninken.

They killed the Deathclaw 2 more times before calling it a night.

Kida walked hand-in-hand with Haruto to the Academy. Today was the Entrance ceremony. She wore her standard training clothes of cargo pants, green shirt, green bandana and Ninja boots. Plus a belt with pouches Haruto had given her that morning. It had a mix of things she could use whilst in the middle of battle. She had forgone the jacket though, as it was too hot for that.

There were a lot less children milling about at the Academy's entrance. Roughly around 60.

They met Kakashi and Sakumo near the entrance. Kida sweat dropped when she saw Kakashi wearing his usual black jacket and green scarf. 'How isn't he sweating?' She wondered as they neared the entrance. They were intercepted by another kid coming out of the Academy with his father.

Kida's eyes shone bright when she caught sight of the kid. 'Its young Gai! OMG he's so adorable!' He really wore a green spandex with orange leg warmers. His ink black hair had a bowl cut shape and his eyebrows were thick, although Kida didn't think the anime did him any justice. They were thicker than normal but they weren't that thick. His dad on the other hand had really thick brows and a thick mustache. Might Dai had on a green spandex and orange leg warmers. Other than the mustache and age difference they were carbon copies of each other.

Sakumo raised his hand in greeting. "Hello there! Our children will be attending the Academy this year as well. I hope they can get along with your boy." He said with a smile.

Dai turned to them with a frown. "I'm afraid that's impossible."

Sakumo flinched back at his harsh words looking at him in disbelief. "Impossible? No way! Are you one of those monster parents?" Haruto chuckled at the man. It always amused him when Sakumo floundered over something.

Kakashi looked up at Sakumo with a bored look. "No dad. You're wrong. He failed the entrance exam." He gestured at Gai "This guy is trying to be a Ninja, but he couldn't even hold the leafs for a second."

Kida took the time to study their profiles. Predictably Dai had high STR, but Gai, now he took her by surprise.

Sakumo rubbed the back of his head in embarrassment. "Oh sorry. I just assumed since you were here."

Dai put his hands on his hip laughing goodnaturedly. "Dont worry about it."

Kakashi frowned up at his father. "We're gonna be late. We should get going." He said impatiently. Seeing Kida distracted by a notification he grabbed her hand and pulled her toward the entrance, followed by Haruto. Sakumo bowed his head at the duo and followed after his group.

As they passed them, Kida turned to Gai, giving him a bright grin. "No worries. Even if you failed this time it doesn't mean you won't succeed later. I know you can do it." She said as Kakashi scoffed next to her.

Gai blushed slightly and gave her a wide smile in return "Your name is Inuzuka Kida right?" At her nod he gave her a thumbs up. "Thank you for your support!" Kida chuckled as she nodded at him.

Kakashi scowled at the interaction. 'Why is she being so friendly with that loser?'

Sakumo noticed the bruises on the other boy's hands and feet. He crouched down next to his annoyed son. "You should remember his name. He could be a good rival for you." He said, reaching up and ruffling his hair. 'And I'm not just talking about power either.' He thought, seeing the boy's blush as he talked to Kida.

Kakashi's scowl turned into one of confusion. "Him? How can that guy who failed the Entrance exam be my rival?"

His father stood and smiled down at Kakashi. "Yeah. At the rate that he's training. He'll be stronger than you one day."

Kakashi's scowl returned. 'Stronger than me?' "Hey!" He called out to the older boy turning his attention from Kida. 'Good,' "What's your name?"

The boy looked confused for a moment before a huge grin took over his face. He pointed at himself with his thumb. "Might Gai! I'm going to be stronger than anyone around!"

Kakahi gave him an unimpressed look. Kida, on the other hand, giggled at his declaration. "Can't wait to see it." She said, giving him a wave as she joined Kakashi.

Gai watched the two younger kids walk off. He hadn't met anyone other than his father that believed in him and he just met two! He clenched his fists as a huge grin split his face "Yosh! I'm going to run 10 laps around Konoha to celebrate gaining new friends!"

Dai laughed at his son's vigor. "Alright! There's the Power of Youth you embody so well!" They took off in a sprint.

On the inside courtyard there were chairs lined up in front of a small stage. A banner saying 'Welcome' hung from the roof of the stage. Sakumo and Haruto let the children go to find seats while they stood in the back with the rest of the parents. Most of the chairs were still empty, so they went ahead and took a seat in the front row. Sessh settled himself at her feet while Zoran took a seat on her lap.

Kida chuckled at Kakashi's annoyed look. "He seemed pretty cool."

Kakashi scoffed. "Did you see his level? It's ridiculously low. He isn't even level 5. He's a loser."

Kida rolled her eyes at him. "Levels only means he doesn't have experience. You should have seen his stats though. He's as strong as a high Genin already!" Kakashi just gave her a disbelieving look. Even they haven't quite gotten there.

Kakashi scowled from behind his mask as most of the kids took forever to get to their seats. Kakashi doubted most of them would make it past the first year, let alone graduate. He couldn't believe he would have to spend the next year with them. He was just glad Gai wasn't there. Kida already liked him and she'd just met him! No doubt she would insist on being friends with him. That's just what Kakashi needed, surrounded by brats and having some random kid taking all of Kida's attention. He shuddered at the thought.

Kakashi sat up slightly when the Academy principal walked on stage. The Chunin called out for the children to take a seat as the ceremony would start in a few minutes. There was a lot of scrambling from the late comers as they rushed to the chairs. Once everyone was finally in their seats and quiet the principal gestured to the side. Kakashi's eyes widened in excitement when he saw the Third Hokage. He was old for a Shinobi, but he looked cool in his Hokage robes. Kakashi looked over to Kida with an excited grin only to frown in confusion. She had her hand over her mouth and she was shaking.

Kida was struggling not to laugh. She was studying the Thirds profile and she could not believe what she was seeing! He had the title of Hokage and the Professor, but he also had Closet Pervert! Kida buried her face in Zoran's fur as she struggled to contain her giggles. It was too much!

Midway through his propaganda speech of the Will of Fire, she managed to get herself under control and returned to looking through his profile. His level was higher than Sakumo's, who had the highest level she ever saw. His WIS were the highest she'd seen, and his physical stats were high, but he had the Senior Citizen Debuff. The Debuff took off 3% of his stats every year. Which meant that the Third Hokage really was powerful to still maintain such high stats. Sakumo's physical stats were higher, she wondered who would win in a fight.

She was amused when she read over his description. 'It seems the man is more of a fool than I had thought.'

Once he was done he walked off the stage and was replaced by the Principal and 3 Chunin Instructors including her exam proctor, Daisuke. "Ok new students pay attention. You will be called by your new teacher and taken to your class." The principal said as Daisuke stepped forward.

"When I call your name line up at the Academy door." He said looking down at a piece of paper. "Aburame Kimiko...Akimichi Chomei...Amamiya Tenko...Ebisu…Geko Hayate...Hagane Kotetsu...Hatake Kakashi," She gave the boy a little wave as he stood and joined the line forming at the door. "…Hibana Hisoka...Hyuuga Temuri...Inuzuka Kida," Kida jumped up and joined her class. "…Kamizumi Izumo...Kato Shizune...Takeshi...Morino Ibiki...Nara Shikaray….Nohara rin...Sarutobi Asuma...Shiranui Genma...Takeshi…Uchiha Obito…" Kida frowned when she saw that Obito wasn't there. "Yamanaka Inosuke, and Yuhi Kurenai."

Once everyone was lined up, Daisuke-sensei led them inside as the next Instructor called for his class. He led them to classroom 101. "Take a seat quickly. I need to pass out the syllabus before we can start." Daisuke-sensei said. Kakashi grabbed onto Kida and dragged her to the top where he shoved her into the middle seat and sat himself by the window, using her as a shield from the rest of the children. Her pups quickly shoved themselves under her desk.

"Good morning Kida-san. Kakashi-san." Kimiko said as she took the seat next to Kida.

Kida smiled at her friend. "Yo!" Kakashi merely gave her a nod.

They talked for a bit as the Instructor passed out some pamphlets and booklets. "All right brats in there contains a list of things you'll need to bring tomorrow. When you arrive in the morning we will begin a week-long training session." He said, going back to the podium at the front of the classroom. Kida looked through her pamphlet. It looked like she would need a regular mission pack. "All of you were placed in class 1A for your high scores on the entrance exam. Which means that all of you have the potential to graduate within the next 3 years instead of the usual 6. During the next month you will be judged by me and the assistant Chunin instructors to see if you should be allowed to remain in this class. If you fail then you will be kicked to the class below us or just plain kicked out of the academy."

Some of the kids looked around in worry. They hadn't been told this by their parents. Kida just looked through it excitedly. A field trip! A training field trip! 'This is gonna be awesome.' "The booklet is your work book. You will fill that out throughout the year. Without it you won't be allowed to move onto the next year. Now open the booklet to page 1 and get to-"

He was interrupted when the door burst open. Kida's eyes widened when she saw who was standing there panting. "Wait! Don't start without me!" Obito yelled, running into the classroom.

He wore orange tinted goggles and had on a blue jacket with orange trimming. He rubbed the back of his neck in embarrassment. "Sorry I'm late. I was helping an old lady with her groceries." He said, earning laughter from the other kids.

Daisuke narrowed his eyes at him and jerked his head to the last available seat. Which just so happened to be in front of Kida.

The boy blushed and scrambled to take his seat. Once he was settled Daisuke went back to talking. "Like I was saying go to Page 1. You have 20 minutes to do problems 1-10." He said. "This is not a group effort so work silently."

Obito frowned looking around as the other kids opened their booklets. "Ummm Sensei?" He said, raising his hand. He flinched when the teacher gave him a glare. "I said work silently." Daisuke growled.

Obito gulped. "But I don't have a book."

The teacher rolled his eyes "You would have a book if you had been here on time." He said, turning his attention away.

Obitus shoulders slumped. He clenched his fist and dug his nails into his palms as he fought back tears. His clan elders were already gonna be pissed that he was late on his first day. Now he didn't have supplies for the class. He jumped up when something wet touched his ankle. He ignored the looks he got from his seat mates and looked under his chair. Under him was a little grey puppy with white paws. In its mouth was a...booklet and pamphlet! He gratefully took the offered items and watched the puppy sneak back under the table behind him. He looked at the occupants of said table. A girl with a white cloak and sunglasses that had to be an Aburame, an Inuzuka girl with goggles like Obito's except hers were green, and a boy with silver gravity defying hair wearing a mask. Only the Aburame and the boy were writing in a book. The Inuzuka girl had her eyes closed and was leaning her chair back against the wall. She looked like she was sleeping.

Obito turned to his newly acquired book and opened to the first page. On the top of the page was an erased name. He could just make out the Kanji. 'Inuzuka Kida.'

He looked back at the girl in wonder. She was ok with letting him have her book? But won't she get in trouble? Obito wasn't sure if he should accept it. He was about to return it when the instructor let out a yelp. He, along with the rest of the class, looked up to see him looking around in confusion.

Obito frowned and jerked back when he felt something dart between his legs. He looked down to see a white tail disappear under the table behind him. When he looked up his jaw dropped. The Inuzuka girl was wearing a smirk and holding a booklet in her hands.

Kida couldn't help the satisfied grin on her face as she handed her pups a treat each. It seems that Haruto's training has bared fruit. Sessh had actually managed to sneak through the classroom and steal from a Chunin without freezing up! She ruffled the proud pup's fur one more time before opening her new booklet and getting started on it.

Twenty minutes later Daisuke-sensei called time and had them go outside. He led them to the open field inside the track. They spent the next two hours going through various exercises making sure everyone knew the proper form for each exercise before they were dismissed for lunch.

Kida, her pups, and Kimiko sat under a tree to eat their lunch. Once she was done prepping her pups food she dug into hers. Haruto packed her onigiri shaped like dog heads. She smiled as she munched on her food. 'So good!'

"Hi! Im Uchiha Obito!" Kida looked up at the voice. Obito was standing a few feet away holding a bento with a blush on his face. "I wanted to thank you for giving me your book… So thank you!" He said, bending at the waist.

Kida nodded and continued eating. He straightened up and looked at her shyly. "Can I, um, sit with you?"

Kida swallowed her food before smiling at him. "Sure you can!" She said, gesturing to the empty spot next to her. The boy smiled happily and quickly took a seat.

"This is Zoran,'' The pup didn't bother to look up from her meal. "That's Sesshomaru. He goes by Sessh though." The pup looked up and gave him a small 'woof' before returning to his food. "This is Aburame Kimiko." Kimiko gave him a nod. "And that's Kakashi," She said, pointing up.

Obito looked up in confusion, but he didn't see anything. He turned back to Kida with a frown. "Who's Kakashi?" He asked. Suddenly, a grey shadow fell from the tree and landed between them. Obito screamed, falling back.

The boy with the grey hair and mask stood there holding an empty bento and scowling down at Obito. "I'm Kakashi." He said with a snarl. The boy, Kakashi, turned his back to Obito and sat down taking his spot next to Kida.

Obito glared and jumped up. "Hey you jerk, I was sitting there!" He yelled. The boy ignored him, which made Obito bristle up. He grabbed the boy's shoulder. "Hey! I said-AHhh!" Obito screamed as he was flipped away.

Kida groaned when she saw Kakashi throwing Obito away. "Kakashi! There's no need to be mean to Obito." She said, standing up. She helped the boy to his feet and helped dust him off. "You ok there, Obito?" She asked, using her weak healing Jutsu on him. It was only barely good for cuts and bruises.

Obito blushed as she healed his bruises. "Wow Kida-chan! You already know Iryoninjutsu? That's amazing!"

Kida shrugged "Eh it's not that great. I only know this one and it barely does anything." She said going back to her spot.

"Kida-san while your modesty becomes you, you should not sell yourself short. Why? Because It takes a great deal of Chakra control and discipline to be able to create Healing Chakra and even more so to use it effectively." Kimiko said, smiling at her friend.

Kida just shrugged and continued eating. It really wasn't that hard.

Kimiko couldn't help but chuckle as she watched Hatake-san and Uchiha-san glare at each other while Kida ate her food. She shook her head when Kida gave her a questioning look. It amused her how easily her friend was able to get others attention without realizing it.

Once lunch was over they made their way back to the classroom. They took the seats they had been in before, much to Obito's annoyance. He'd wanted to sit next to Kida, but that brat Kakashi kicked him away!

"Kakashi! What is with you? You shouldn't be so mean to someone you just met!" Kida scolded Kakashi. The boy just crossed his arms and turned away with a huff. Kida rolled her eyes at him, shaking her head. Honestly, the kid's bipolar.

The rest of class was lectures about surviving in the wild. Things she had already gone over with Haruto. So Kida ended up falling asleep. She didn't care. If there was anything important then Kakashi would tell her.

She woke up when Kakashi poke her side to wake her up. She yawned and stood up. Most of the class had bolted to the door when the teacher dismissed them, so they were one of the last ones still in the room.

"Hey Kida-chan!" Obito called her as she made her way down the steps. "Umm I was wondering, would you like to, ah that is, you can say no of course, but do you wanna hang out!?" He finally managed to blurt out. He rubbed the back of his neck in embarrassment, looking away as his ears turned red.

Kakashi scoffed. 'There's no way Kida's gonna say yes to such trash.'

Kida grinned widely. "Sure what do you have in mind?" She asked.

Kakashi made a horrified sound. "But we're supposed to train with my dad today!" He quickly interjected. He could not believe Kida would hang out with someone like him.

Kida looked at him in surprise. "Oh yeah." She turned to Obito. "You wanna come train with us?"

Kimiko had to bite her cheek to keep from laughing at the strangled sound Hatake-san made.

Obito, on the other hand, was both annoyed and happy. Even if Kakashi was gonna be there, he was gonna get to hang out with Kida-chan!

Kida turned to Kimiko as they made their way outside. "You haven't trained with us yet, would you like to join us? We're going to the Inuzuka compound for it."

Kimiko nodded. "I'll have to ask my brother, but I do not see why he would say no. Why? He is encouraging me to spend more time with you."

Kida perked up that. "Really? How come?" She asked with a head tilt.

Obito blushed 'She's so cute!' He yelped when Kakashi shoved him away. He straightened up and glared at the boy. 'What's his problem?'

The kid turned his nose up at Obito and put himself between Obito and Kida.

Kida glanced back at Kakashi and Obito with a confused frown. 'Honestly, why are they so hostile toward each other?'

"Most people are wary of the Aburame because we are hosts to insects. So having someone who is not fazed by it as a friend at such a young age makes my clan ecstatic." Kida made a humming noise. 'That explains why I got such a high rep with them so fast when they were Cicada hunting.'

Kida was about to reply when a new scent hit her. She turned with a grin and ran to the Academy entrance. "Tsume!" She jumped and tackled her sister with tears in her eyes. Her pups tackled Kuromaru with welcoming shouts. "I missed you!" She yelled as she nuzzled her sister. This last mission they had been on had been the longest since Kida had been born.

Tsume laughed as she hugged her sister tight. "Heya pup. It's been a while." She said putting her down. Kida sniffed at Tsume as she looked her over. She looked exhausted, but otherwise unharmed. 'Hey! Their levels went up!'

Tsume looked behind her with a grin. "Hey little Hatake." Kakashi raised his hand in greeting. "Sakumo-sensei got called out for a mission so it looks like you'll be spending the night."

Kakashi shrugged, that just meant more training time in the dungeons. Kida turned to her friends. She burst into laughter when she saw Obito's dropped jaw. He was staring at the horse size Ninken that was Kuromaru.

Obito could not believe what he was seeing. He knew the Inuzuka's dogs grew big, but this was ridiculous!

The giant dog came over to him making the boy flinch back. The dog laughed at him! Laughed!

Kida ran over to them. "Kuromaru! Don't scare my friends!" She yelled pushing the laughing Ninken away from the scared boy. She turned to Obito and patted him on the head making him blush "Sorry about that. Those in my clan tend to get sadistic when they smell fear."

Obito gulped at that then he shook his head and got a determined look on his face. 'If I want Kida to like me then I need to get along with her family!'

Kida turned to her friends. "Sorry, it looks like we'll have to postpone training." Kida said with an apologetic smile. Her sister needed to rest, so she couldn't supervise them. They looked at her in disappointment.

Obito pouted, he wanted to hang out with Kida. His pout turned into a glare when he saw Kakashi's triumphant look.

Tsume frowned as her sister said goodbye to her friends. "Hey, why don't you guys come get some food with us? Since we just got paid it's on me." She said with a grin. she was exhausted, but she didn't mind spoiling her sister on her first day at the Academy. Plus, she was starving.

She chuckled when the children all agreed except for Kakashi who groaned. 'Great,' He thought sarcastically 'More time spent with the snot nosed brats.'

After Kimiko got permission from her brother they made their way through Konoha. Kida and Kimiko walked side by side, watching as Kakashi and Obito shoved at each other to try and walk next to her.

Kida shook her head at their idiocy. "Honestly they just met. Why do they hate eachother so much, already?" She wondered, frowning at the scuffling boys

Kimiko smiled. "They are fighting over you." She said with giggles. "They like you."

Kida looked back at her friend with a confused look. "Like me? As in like me or like-like me?" That thought wasn't really registering with the girl.

Kimiko covered her mouth. "Like-like you!" She whispered with a blush.

Kida gave Kakashi and Obito a curious look. They're children, why are they thinking of such things? "Is that so? Eh I'm only 3. I have no interest in boys right now." She said, waving her hand at her friend's words. "I'm especially not interested in either of them." One was supposed to betray the village, the other she's watched his diaper be changed one too many times. It was enough to destroy any romance that might have developed.

"Why not tell them that?" Kimiko asked.

Kida shrugged. "It's good for Kakashi to interact with other kids." Sure they were arguing, but it was good for Kakashi. Maybe she could even help Obito become a proper rival for Kakashi and keep Kakashi from obsessing over mission completion over teammates.

Kida grinned when she saw where they were headed. Ichiraku Ramen! Kida hadn't had the chance to come here yet so she was pretty excited as she ran over and hopped onto one of the red stools.

"Hello there! Can I get 3 bowls of Pork Ramen please!" She yelled with an excited grin.

Teuchi looked up from where he was cooking with a startled look. 'Holy wow he's young!' He was just in his late 20's. And his lvl was pretty high too, but his stats were civilian level so he must be very good at his craft.

He laughed good naturedly when he saw her. "Nice to see someone so excited to eat my ramen." He said as he started in on her order.

Kakashi shoved Obito away and turned to go sit next to Kida only to freeze in place. Kimiko and Tsume were already sitting on either side of her. His shoulders slumped as he took a seat next to the Aburame girl, Obito sat next to him with a pout.

Kakashi huffed as he settled himself on top of a broken house, watching the Deathclaw amble by. He could not understand why they had wasted basically the entire day playing with those two weaklings.

"Alright so we're still not strong enough to hurt it with Taijutsu, so I'm thinking we can work on maxing out the remainder of our Jutsu's tonight." Kakashi turned his attention back to the present time as Kida talked. "We won't be able to return to the dungeons while on the field trip, so we should make the most of our time."

Kakashi tapped his chin in thought. "How about we just practice Rasengan on it?"

Kida grinned "We can do that, just remember to be careful of its tail." Kakashi nodded. Sessh and Zoran attacked the boss with a combined Gatsuuga as soon as they were cleared, Kakashi and Kida attacked with Rasengan. They each managed to land a hit on its back, making the beast roar and swipe at them. They dodged and backed away. The beast roared, running at them. Kida quickly did her hand seals and slammed her hand into the ground "Doton: Ground Thorns."

The ground underneath and around the monster turned sharp and jagged. The Deathclaw stumbled before righting itself and swiping at them. They dodged the attack, jumping back as Zoran and Sessh hit it again with Gatsuuga.

Kida and Kakashi jumped behind it and slammed another Rasengan into it. While it was out of balance, Kakashi slammed his hands on the ground "Raiton: Current Assault." He yelled. Electricity surged through the ground, reaching the beast. The Deathclaw began spasming as the electrical currents began ripping through it. Kida used this chance to attack with another Rasengan, being careful not to touch it so as to avoid getting electrocuted herself.

They managed to take about half of its remaining health away before it shook Kakashi off its back. They jumped away from the enraged beast. They kept using hit and run tactics with it slowly chipping away at its health.

Kida jumped away to stand next to Kakashi as her pups distracted the beast. "I'm thinking maybe we should have used Bite Drain after all." Kakashi panted, wiping the sweat from his brow. Even though Kida was panting and sweating next to him, she was recovering much faster than he did. He needed a longer moment to catch his breath.

Kida chuckled at his grumbled words. "I don't think that enemies in the real world will let you stay latched on long enough for that to work. You gotta learn how to deal with them like this." They jumped away from the beasts attack.

"So what should we do?" Kakashi asked as her pups led it away.

Kida bit her thumb trying to come up with a plan. 'OH!' Kida punched her hand as an idea entered her. Kakashi looked over at her. "You got something?"

Kida nodded looking down at her hands. She brought her healing Chakra to the surface and focused on making it take a sword-like shape and sharpening the edges. After a few seconds of refining and maintaining the Jutsu, she created the skill she was looking for.

Chakra Scalpel Jutsu (Active)
The user channels Chakra into their hand, thinning it into a blade that does not create external incisions, but internal ones instead. Perfect for Surgery.
Chakra cost 70/s

Kida smirked at Kakashi's deadpan expression. "Of course, just create a new Jutsu. Why didn't I think of that." Kida laughed at the boys dry voice.

Kakashi froze in place as a thought hit him, Kida just basically created this Jutsu. Even though it already existed, no one taught her. Maybe Kakashi could make his own. Yeah, yeah, he'd create his very own Jutsu! He'd start as soon as he got home!

"C'mon!" She undid the Jutsu and ran after the beast, pulling Kakashi from his thoughts. Her pups had led the beast on a wild goose chase, weaving and ducking through the ruins. Zoran kept egging the beast on, having a little too much fun.

Kida ran up behind it. She ducked under its tail and slid between its legs, severing the tendons. The beast roared as it fell onto its knees. She didn't stop there. As the Deathclaw swiped at her she severed the tendons on its arm, doing the same to its other arm.

She stood back as the beast fell. Chakra scalpel didn't do any kind of damage, but damn was it useful. She was finally glad her mother had forced her to learn so much of anatomy before teaching her the Jutsu.

She approached the downed beast "Ok ya'll, if we all combine our attack we can-Ahhh!" The Deathclaws tail wiped out, hitting Kida in the chest

-1,200 HP

and sending her through a nearby wall.

-750 HP

You now have a concussion. -30% WIS

"Well that's just great!" She grumbled as she dusted herself off, ignoring her companions fretting, she ran at the Deathclaw and severed its tail tendons.

"Now, like I was saying; let's kill this thing." With their combined Drain Bite, it took no time at all for it to die.

Kakashi eyed the new dog vest the Deathclaw had left behind, while Kida separated their winnings. He didn't need anymore, but it was always better to have extra just in case.

Kakashi turned to Kida as she handed him some health potions and money. He put his half of the winnings in his inventory while Kida looked over her pups.

"Is there another dungeon or should we spend the rest of the time here?" Kakashi asked

Kida looked back at him with a frown. "Well there's another dungeon, but...I wanted us to be able to kill the Deathclaw on our own each in a timely manner, before moving on. But I guess we might as well. Ready?" At Kakashi's nod the world changed around them.

Kakashi looked around their new surroundings. It was similar to the Zombie town, except instead of perpetual night it was high noon. He turned to Kida, she was looking around in wariness. Even Zoran looked worried as she growled at nothing and everything. "It's too quiet."

Kakashi frowned. She's right. There was no sound, not even the wind was blowing.

Kida stiffened her eyes going wide as she looked at something behind Kakashi.

Kakashi turned to see a red...blob moving toward them. It was maybe a few inches bigger than the 3 year olds.

Lvl 23 Slime
HP 15,500
CP 8

It was moving about a foot a minute.

He looked at it incredulously, before he too tensed up. He couldn't sense it at all! There was no sound as it moved and no smell!

"Youve got to be kidding me!" Kakashi turned to Kida with a confused look. "Its a fucking slime." She huffed and started walking toward it.

Kakashi quickly pulled her back. "It's level 23, let's proceed with caution and Observe it first," He said pointing to a nearby roof. Kida rolled her eyes but followed him.

Once they were settled on the roof Kakashi turned to watch the blob. He raised a brow in surprise, it had changed direction and was now headed their way. He didn't understand how, as it had no eyes.

Kida showed Kakashi the slimes info.

Name: Slime
Lvl 21-20
Village: Konohagakure

Monster
Age: N/A

Title: N/A
Rank: C

HP: 15,000-20,000
CP: 5-20

INT: 0
VIT: 500

WIS: 0 AGI: 400

STR: 0
LUK: 0

The slime is the weakest of all monsters. It has no strength and its speed is negligible. It has only 1 ability; Flame touch. It is immune to fire, and poisons.

They looked at each other in confusion. "It says it has no speed but the AGI is high?" Kakashi asked in confusion. Kida just shrugged, "Agility dictates more than just speed."

Kida took out a Kunai and tossed it at the blob. Their eyes widened when it went through it and out the other side without causing any damage. The blob didn't even react to what happened. It just kept coming at them.

"So physical attacks don't work?" Kida wondered out loud. "So Jutsu only maybe?" Kida and her pups jumped down from the roof. They landed about 20 feet away from it. It hesitated for a moment before changing direction and going for them. "Doton: Ground Thorns!" She called out as she slammed her hands on the ground. The ground in front of Kida became jagged and sharp and continued to grow in a straight line to the Slime. The Slime wasn't fazed as it continued to slide toward the trio, the thorns not slowing it down at all.

Kida looked up at Kakashi and shrugged. He jumped down and joined her. Kakashi made a few hand signs and pointed his finger at the slime. A Lightning Senbon shot out and hit the Slime. When the Senbon hit the Slime, it dissolved and the electricity spread out through the monster, causing 90 damage.

It kept moving toward them.

"All right! Nice going Kakashi, but it hardly did any damage." She said cockily as she ran through some seals "Suiton: Water Bub-Gah" Kida yelped as something wrapped itself around her feet and yanked her backward.

Kakashi and the pups yelled as Kida was taken by a red vine belonging to another blob. She was swallowed into the blob. "Kida!" Kakashi and the pups moved to help her, but the world changed around them. They were back in the Zombie dungeon.

Kakashi's eyes widened and he stumbled back. He turned away, pulling his mask down and throwing up. The smell! He'd never smelled burnt flesh before. Sure Kida and Kakashi had gotten slight burns when training, but Kida was completely covered in burns.

He swallowed before turning back to his friend. She was sitting up and grabbing a health potion from her inventory, her Ninken watching with worried looks. He turned away unable to look at the burns. Kakashi fought back the tears that threatened to spill as he shook his head and took a deep breath. He turned to his friend, swallowing the bile that rose up. She had drunk the potion and her burns were disappearing, her flesh turning back to its smooth tanned state.

Kida sighed in relief when her health maxed out. That was more painful than the Zombie bite. She looked down at herself and cursed, her clothes had burns all over them. She stood with an annoyed sigh, she'll have to talk to Haruto about this later. She needed some fire resistance clothes.

"I think it's safe to say we are not ready for the third dungeon." The pups nodded in agreement.

"Should we focus on ripping through the Ghoul dungeon for now, then?" Kida asked.

"What are you doing?" Kida frowned at Kakashi's growl. He was looking down, his hair covering his eyes. "You were really badly hurt! And you act like nothing happened!?" He yelled, glaring up at, tears in his eyes.

Kida looked at him in surprise, before smiling softly at him. She reached over and patted his head. "Kakashi, it's ok. I'm ok." She pulled the shaking boy into her arms "The Ninja world is gonna try to kill us at every opportunity. We need to learn to fight all kinds of enemies," and allies. "Sure we are in danger here, but that's why it's the perfect place to train." She let go when the boy pulled away from her, frowning at her. "That slime was nothing compared to what we will face." She leaned. "Lets focus on mastering our Jutsus, yeah?"

Kakashi nodded slowly, not quite satisfied. 'It's like she doesn't care about her life.'

They decided to fight in the Ghoul dungeon for the rest of the time they had left. Using different strategies to see what worked and what didn't. They found out that a lot of things didn't work out, but their teamwork became top notched.

Kida laughed as she slammed a Rasengan into the Deathclaws head, killing the 9th Deathclaw. Kakashi and her pups landed next to her rifling, through their winnings.

Kida smirked at Kakashi. "Ready for round 10?"

Kakashi smirked back. "Best out of 100?" She laughed, nodding, before running off to find some Ghouls.

Kida eyed the group of Ghouls, creating a Rasengan in each hand. She jumped from the rooftop, slamming her Rasengans on the back of 2 Ghouls. Her pups followed after her, killing the other two with Gatsuuga. Kida frowned when a new notification appeared.

Rasengan Lvl 10 (1% to next level) (Active)
A spinning ball of Chakra
formed and held in the palm of the user's hand, on contact the technique grinds into its target. Can be thrown
Chakra cost 500, Chakra cost to maintain 400/s (-25% Chakra cost)

Kida frowned at the sign, she never got notifications with the entire Jutsu when it leveled up. She narrowed her eyes at it before she let out a gasp. 'I can throw it!'

She quickly created a Rasengan, eyeing it. It didn't look or even feel any different than before. What's wrong Kida? "Stand back, I wanna try something." Her pups looked at each other warily, before backing away.

Kida took a deep breath, this is either gonna be really awesome or really painful. She launched the Jutsu.

As it left her hand she felt her Chakra disconnect from it. She smiled when she watched the Jutsu fly through the air and into a building. She whooped and cackled as the building exploded.

Holy wow! How'd you do that? "I leveled up the Rasengan to level 10." She smiled widely at the pups.

"That's what made that explosion?" Kida turned her head to Kakashi's voice. He was walking toward, her eyeing the destroyed wall. "I thought you couldn't throw it?"

"When I reached level 10 I gained the ability to throw it. Isn't that awesome!?" She said excitedly.

Kakashi looked away. "Yeah awesome."

"I wanna see how far I can throw it" She said with a grin, running off.

Kakashi nodded, watching her run off with her Ninken searching for more Ghouls. He looked down at his hand, the only reason he could do the Rasengan was because Kida had helped him. He had to focus a lot on creating the Jutsu and maintaining it, while Kida could already throw it!

He sighed in frustration, he really needed to shape up.
