Inuyasha crossover Ouran High School Host Club
Chapter 9
He was starting to be more straightforward, more direct, and it amuses her, and stirs up interest for her to want to humour him a little more. Maybe until her school year ends here.
"To what do I owe to this invite Mr Ootori," Kagome asked as she sat herself opposite of him.
The venue that he had chosen was really scenic, atop a high level that overlook the city, even from where they are, they can see the Skytree.
"I'm curious about who you are Ms Higurashi."
She only smiled and reached out to the glass of water as she took sips from it.
"There is nothing much about be, I'm a mere commoner, very much so out of your league Mr Ootori, we are of different social standing and class."
"But you do not behave like so," was his thought as he watched and observed her every action.
The silence was deafening, but still there was nothing or nowhere he could really start from or to open a conversation from.
"Since there is nothing much, I will be going then," she prepared to stand.
"I look forward to finding more of you and Meido Group."
"There's nothing much to find out about the connection Mr Ootori, if anything what you might be thinking is not that far off."
"Aren't you afraid of this being known to others."
"I'm sure you will do what benefit you the most, I'm after all just a mere commoner and only 18, who will believe in my words in your world," her musing was not without claims, but that is so when they are so young and without a good background.
"Well then, good day to you Mr Ootori, I'm sure we will be seeing one another in school," she said with a smile before leaving him on his own.
She was right in some sense, but that was not unexpected for her to see things so clearly, and not beat around the bushes. When they are back in school how she was when they were alone, so full of confident, unafraid that was all not seen when in Ouran High.
A few times he had tried to interact with her with or without people around of them, she would only smile at him in that same humouring, patronising manner and gave him a few appropriate quiet replies before moving on.
It was almost rather hard to arrange for them to meet up or to go out casually, he would often find excuses instead to create the opportunity only that it was not all that well received in some sense.
"What is your curiosity about me? You have more or less already found out what you want to know about me, what else is there for me to strike your interest, or is it to say that you have developed feelings for me," she boldly guess the possibility openly without shame in front of him.
A pale blush crept to his cheeks, but otherwise covered up when he reached out for his cup of tea to take a few long slow sips from it.
"Do you really have a romantic interest towards me?" she asked again with laughter in her eyes but did nothing as she sat across him all smiles with gossip like interest in her tone.
Kyoya pushed his glasses above the bridge of his nose, but said nothing about it as he kept his silence, not sure of what to say himself as he never thought of it that way, but paced it as healthy curiosity. Though maybe subconsciously he understand that his 'curiosity' may have diverted to being a little too much after that weekend school trip.
"You're still young, do not mistake your interest for liking or loving another person when you are unsure of it yourself, being in a relationship is a lot more than just what you hear or see in books and television," she said words that are beyond her years in understanding, but they came out so easily.
He was sceptical but he feels like there is cynicism in relationship just base on the way she spoke of it.
"And if I am interested in you, romantically wise."
She paused for a moment to look at him for a while in assessment of him.
"You've your family to overcome, and if you still have a liking in me after finding out more of me even after you graduate from University, maybe…" but she did not finish it, not at all expecting this part or that he will follow through on it as well.
"A few short years should not change your feelings for me, and if it does wane and turn out to just be mere interest, we're both free to find other partners."
"And if it does not, we will try dating then if you can overcome your family and my past."
Kyoya was silent, but could tell the seriousness of things despite of how light-hearted her tone made it out to be.
"…I accept your proposition, however to explore this, we would need to meet often enough to build an understanding of one another."
Kagome smiled at his suggestion, amused but acknowledged what he is suggestion, "Alright, once every weekend we'll set one day aside, Saturday."
"However I would like us to remain a low profile and to keep his away from the eyes of media and the people that we know."
Kyoya had frown at what she was suggesting with the added on conditions.
"This is only just so that when we decide that we are not compatible, that way there will be no scandal," she added on a little too naturally and matter-of-factually. "If you cannot accept these, then I see that we do not have any need to continue."
All the while that she says it, there is nothing but smile upon her lips, that same patronising smile again.
"I look forward to getting to know you better Ms Higurashi. And since we are trying to know one another better, perhaps we should be on first name basis."
Kagome only smiled as she took sips from her cup of tea and looked out to the city skyline from inside the restaurant that they are in.
