Chapter 2
The Hazbin Hotel?
The next morning, Vanessa hopped from her bed, giddy with excitement. Idiot, however, did not wake up so nicely. She did not sleep that night. The hotel. The location of the radio demon. She was exhausted with mugs and empty gallons of "Milk" scattered on her kitchen top.
Vanessa grabbed her normal clothing items after taking a shower and making sure she looked presentable. She grabbed her phone and headphones and headed to the front of the office, waiting for Idiot.
Idiot knew that she would have to leave her apartment to meet up with her friend, so she forced her exhausted body into a short and as cold as she could get it shower. She grabbed the cleanest clothes she could find in her closet,(a dress shirt with a vest and blackish red pants). While she fixed herself some coffee she grabbed her phone and brushed her.. Teeth? On the way out she grabbed her two pronged pitchfork. She shrunk it down to fit in her pocket. If she was going to die, it wasn't going to be without a fight.
Vanessa saw Idiot coming down the hall and waved with a newfound energy. Idiot waved back with some energy. Vanessa opened the door and allowed Idiot out first before following suit. "You seem.. Alive this morning," Idiot said sleepily, trying not to yawn.
"Indeed I am. I'm guessing you didn't sleep all that well last night?" Vanessa asked.
Idiot chuckled. "How could you tell?" Idiot said, smirking at her friend.
"Your reactions are slower than usual," Vanessa said.
"Well I did make some coffee so I wouldn't be, but it seems I've left it at my apartment," Idiot sighed.
Vanessa pulled out a mug from behind her coat, one filled with coffee and one with tea. She handed the one with coffee to Idiot. Idiot took it and looked at it thankfully.
"You know. It's strange. I never really liked coffee when I was still living. But now that I'm here, I've seemed to have gotten a new appreciation for it." Idiot said before taking a sip from her coffee.
"I put some alcohol in it for some extra kick," Vanessa chuckled.
"You know me too well." Idiot gave her a playful punch in the arm.
Vanessa chuckled even more at her friend's actions. She glanced up and noticed they were just about at the hotel. Idiot stared at the hotel. Her tail twitched as she looked at the sign.
"Hazbin Hotel? Are we at the wrong place?" Idiot said, not knowing how to react.
"I don't believe so. I'll knock just to be sure," Vanessa said.
"Good. You do that and I'll stay here." Idiot said.
"Alright."
Vanessa walked calmly up to the door, tucking five of her arms behind her back and using one to knock three times at the door. Idiot put her claws into her pockets, grabbing onto her pitchfork just in case. The door opened and there stood Husk with a bored glare. His eyes travelled up to meet the eyes of Vanessa who stood at a little less than 7 feet. Husk looked a little nervous, but hid it easily. Idiot relaxed, but still kept her claws in her pockets.
Vanessa smiled, staring down at Husk. "Hello~. I'm here to see Charlie for me and my friend's first day of work here?"
Idiot looked past the cat… thing and saw the pretty nice looking lobby. In it was a spider sitting on a chair sucking on an ice pop. Idiot blushed due to her mind filling up with all the pornos she'd seen him in.
"Idiot? We can go in now," Vanessa said, waving an arm in front of her face.
"Oh, OH. Yeah. Ok. Let's go in." Idiot took her claws out of her pockets and followed her friend in. Vanessa saw a gray-skinned ghoul sitting on a couch next to the one and only Angel Dust. She walked up to the ghoul and asked, "Where is Charlie?"
Idiot stood behind her friend trying not to glance at the porn star. She'd rather not get his attention. She didn't feel like getting horny right now, especially if there might be the radio demon here.
The ghoul, who had introduced herself as Vaggie, began to lead Vanessa and Idiot to Charlie's office.
"So. You're Vaggie," Idiot said, trying to get her mind off of porn.
Vaggie nodded before asking a question. "Where did you two work before here?"
"The Hell's Offices," Idiot said.
"Yikes," was Vaggie's only response.
Vaggie stopped the two friends as they came upon a wooden door with a plaque on it that said 'Charlie'. Vaggie knocked, waiting a moment before Charlie responded.
"Come in!"
Idiot put her claws in her pocket and looked at her friend. Vanessa looked back at Idiot with a calm gaze before entering the room. The three demons entered the room to see Charlie working through a stack of papers on her desk.
"What did you need?" Charlie asked before turning around and recognizing us.
"These two wanted to see you?" Vaggie asked
Idiot got a light feeling of embarrassment due to the fact that she spasmed in front of her yesterday.
Charlie nodded with a large grin on her face. "They volunteered to start working here!"
"Happy to see... Us?" Idiot said, pushing down the embarrassment.
Charlie nodded with the grin still on her face.
Vanessa still had no idea what to do, so she asked the first question that came to her mind. "What will we be doing to help out?"
Charlie answered her question almost immediately. "Well… I guess you, Vanessa, could work at the bar and, Idiot…"
Idiot sighed and took her claws out of her pockets. "I guess I could do some room service."
"Great! You can get started whenever!" Charlie exclaimed.
"Great," Idiot said in a sarcastic tone.
Vanessa nodded with a smile and turned on her heel to go back to the bar. Idiot followed her friend out of the room and made a turn for the exit.
"I'll start tomorrow. I'm not feeling very well today." Idiot exclaimed before heading out of the building.
"Alrighty! See ya tomorrow!" Vanessa said, making it clear she was staying here for today.
Idiot didn't respond, leaving the building as quickly as she could and making her way back to the offices.
Vanessa made her way to the bar and pulled out a bottle of red wine, pouring herself a glass and placing cash on the counter. Her first day was filled with zero demons at the counter and plenty of time to get used to where all of the alcohol was.
Idiot was standing at a catwalk in the offices, throwing toddlers into the fire pit below. They weren't allowed to hurt or kill the child sacrifices, but in reality, no one cared. So, she never really got in trouble for it. All of her curiosity for the hotel had gone as soon as his name was spoken. All she has for that place is fear and anger. The Radio Demon views it as his own little show and her friend views it as a "new working opportunity". The toddlers Idiot had before had run off, so she was left to watch the ones she threw burn in the firepit. Her tail twitched with each scream the creatures cried out. Normally the screams of those brats deservingly dying would calm her, but strangely it didn't. This time she was left to feel something... different. Idiot sighed and decided to retire to her apartment for the day.
A little later, Vanessa checked in, going to her apartment. She wanted to get her needed rest, so she can go back for day two at the Hazbin Hotel.
