Chapter 4

Daughter of Aries

The next morning, Vanessa woke up with a sense of dread in her heart and mind. She was scared of what a disgrace her boss would think she is. She had also decided which limb was going to go. One of her lowest arms. Or both. Idiot knocked on her door.

"Come in," Vanessa said in a monotone voice.

"I've decided to spend the day with you. Just to help you feel better I guess." Idiot said while shifting her feet.

"Oh! Thanks." Vanessa forced a smile. Idiot knew it was fake but appreciated it anyway.

Vanessa began to get ready, but seemed more careless about it than usual, letting her hair become a mess and choosing some pretty casual, non-fancy clothes. She made some coffee and tea, spiking both with liquor, hers had more than usual.

"Good idea," Idiot said, watching her drink. "So, when will we be going to the hotel?"

"After I chat with our boss and get that shit over with."

"He's not going to cut it off till this afternoon. He wants you to think. There have been a lot who have reconsidered after finding out the consequences," Idiot told her friend.

"Then, when should I chat with him? Does it matter?"

"It's better if you do it before you go to the hotel. You'll at least get it done today," Idiot said.

"Okay. Thanks mate," Vanessa hummed.

"His daughter came today. He's having her take care of the… mutilations," Idiot said. "I think it's so she can be as cruel as him."

"Alright then. I'm ready to head down to his office whenever."

"Yeah. Let's... go," Idiot said uneasily.

Vanessa opened the door and allowed Idiot out before following her because, hell, she didn't know where his office was. Idiot led Vanessa round the long hallways of the offices leading her to his office. They stopped at a huge door with the symbol of the ram. They heard two voices. One voice belonged to their boss and the other belonging to a young female.

"Here we are," Idiot told her friend.

"Okay. Thank you," Vanessa said with tension. Idiot opened the door to be met with a young teenage demon.

"Ugh! Dad! I don't wanna!" She called back to their boss, she was on the short side with freckles dotting her face and large moose antlers that appeared to be cut down some whether it was her own choice or not was unknown.

"Silence dear. We have guests. Idiot. You've come early to pick up my daughter. You seemed to have brought your friend. Why are you here?" he said with his normal voice. But, still trying to be intimidating.

"Hello sir. You have a.. nice daughter." Idiot looked at the girl

"Indeed. She seems quite sweet," Vanessa said, holding back her sarcasm.

The daughter only glared. She didn't notice the sarcasm, but neither did she care. She was just upset in general.

"You didn't answer my question," he said, staring at Vanessa

"Oh! Sorry sir. It's something I would like to talk to you about in private or at your convenience," Vanessa said politely.

"You can tell me now." He growled impatiently, steam coming out of his nostrils.

"I'm going to quit my job," Vanessa stated firmly.

He stood, leaning over the spider demon. His goat eyes staring into her spider eyes. Vanessa stood her ground as best she could, maintaining eye contact. He snorted.

"Which one will it be then? I'm assuming that you already know the price that you must repay," he said in his gruff voice.

"My lowest right arm sir."

"Hmph. You have till the end of the day. My daughter will be starting off her career by cutting off your arm," he said, gesturing towards the girl.

"Yes sir, boss," Vanessa said with a nervous glimmer in her voice.

The demon rolled her eyes, but didn't say anything, just looking away as if trying to think of everything else she could be doing at that moment. Then she finally spoke up.

"Why does anyone need a career here? There's no point in it" she grumbled

"For money, my ignorant little shit," he said angrily. He turned his head towards Idiot.

"Do you wish to quit as well?" he said, narrowing his eyes.

"No sir," she said quickly.

"Good. I don't need her mentor quitting either," he said, gesturing to the girl.

"I'll see you this afternoon Ms. Vanessa," he spoke to the spider before him.

"Okay, boss," Vanessa hummed as politely as possible.

"Dear. Go with them," he said to his daughter. "This will be some good, well-needed experience." The girl hesitated before walking towards the two. "I guess we'll get over with it later"

"Now you may leave. Except for you, spider," he said gruffly.

Idiot grabbed the girl's arm and took her out of the room.

Vanessa stood patiently, watching the other two leave.

"Do you know why I have a daughter,Vanessa?" He said to her.

"To teach her about what you do, sir?" Vanessa queried.

"No. That is the consequence of having a child. You see, I've had a certain demon go after me due to my.. behavior. So, when I found out he wouldn't go after me if I had offspring that needed me he wouldn't hurt me. So, don't expect that Alastor will help you out of this one," he said, glaring at her with that last sentence.

"Yes sir."

"If you tell him anything about this I will take more than just an arm. Now. GET OUT OF MY OFFICE." he told the spider.

"Yessir!" Vanessa flinched as she dashed out of the office and into the hall.

"Hey! Slow down!" Idiot yelled after her friend, grabbing the girl and bringing her along with her.

"Oh! Sorry!" Vanessa called out as she slowed down.

"What happened there? He's never done that before." Idiot said after catching up with her friend still holding the girl's wrist.

"I'll talk to you about that later," Vanessa mumbled.

"Hey, loosen up a bit, your claws are digging into me!" She complained, shaking her wrist.

"Oh. Sorry," Idiot said, letting go of the girl. "What's your name by the way?"

The girl was confused for a moment by the sudden kindness that she wasn't used to, but didn't mention it. "Well it's dumb, but it's Mary Sue. God. Please, call me Mary though. I don't know what my parents were thinking," she said, still with a twinge of anger in her voice.

"I agree. Your parents are insane," Idiot said trying to make Mary comfortable with her.

"Agreed," Vanessa stated.

"He's not even my real Dad. He just picked me up and was all like 'Hell yeah, this is my kid now that I'm going to use for my own benefit', but it's whatever. I can demand what I want, so it's not too shitty."

"Yeah. I thought you looked nothing like him," hummed Vanessa.

"Yeah I agree." Idiot agreed. Mary huffed moving on from the topic of her 'father'

"So, you're going to put me to work, huh?" She said knowing she didn't have a say in the matter

"We don't really work much here, dear. It's more like our presence is required," Idiot told the girl.

"I'll be heading to my job. I'll see you later. Bye!" Vanessa chirped before heading down the hall.

"Ok. Bye." Idiot said.

"Oh, see ya" Mary said without much care for the spider. Idiot began following Vanessa.

"So, to the hotel then?" Idiot asked her friend. "Do you think we should bring Eric?"

"Sure!" Vanessa said.

As soon as Vanessa got to the hotel, she felt like she needed to tell someone about what was going on. She couldn't tell Alastor, Husk wouldn't care, she really didn't like Vaggie that much, so the only reasonable person to tell was… Angel.

Idiot put her arm around her friend. She caught the expression her friend was giving.

"It's going to be fine," Idiot said, trying to make her friend feel better. Idiot was nervous as well, her tail wrapped around her leg.

"We're going to go talk to Angel. I promise I'll explain everything later."

Idiot blushed as soon as Angel was mentioned.

"Ok then. I guess I'll get an explanation," Idiot said, trying to supress the thought of porn.

Vanessa walked in and immediately noticed the pink spider sitting at the bar. She trotted over and tapped Angel on the shoulder, causing him to whip around and smirk as soon as he saw Vanessa. Eric stood back looking around the area, taking it all in. The two didn't give him much explanation before dragging him here after all. He noticed the two spiders together but didn't inquire more about them only asking Idiot

"What is this place?"

"It's Hazbin Hotel, Eric," Idiot explained. Eric decided to then walk around, though he was just as confused as before.

"Angel. I'd like to talk to you in private," Vanessa said calmly.

"Why's that, sweets?" Angel queried.

"For fucks sake. A normal conversation about a serious subject."

"So when do I get the explanation?" Idiot asked her friend.

"My friend will be joining us," Vanessa cast a glance to Idiot.

"Okay, okay. We'll head up to my room and we can talk, sweet cheeks." Angel purred.

Idiot looked away from the pornstar.

"Okay. Lead the way," Vanessa said with a roll of her eyes.

Once up in Angel's room, Vanessa began to talk about her situation.

"I have a situation at work that is.. not good for me. I'm quitting my job and when I do that, I have to get a limb cut off.

Angel Dust paused.

"What? Is this some kind of joke?" Angel Dust asked.

"Nope. No jokes, no shit." Vanessa stood with a small frown.

"Why would we lie about this?!" Idiot yelled at the slutty spider.

"And another thing on top of that. This cannot be told to Alastor or else he will kill our boss."

"Why not? He should!" Angel Dust exclaimed

"I agree, but my boss threatened me that if I told Al, he would tear off more than my arm." Vanessa shuddered at the thought.

"That's more of a reason why you should tell him. He can't rip your arm off if he's dead!" Angel Dust yelled.

"Wait, actually. Yeah. He's got a point. Why can't you kill him?" Idiot asked "I mean I like having a job where I can mostly do whatever I want. But my boss is a dick."

"Yeah.. I guess you're right. I'll tell Alastor at some point," chirped Vanessa. "By the way, should I go see Aries soon?"

"No. You still have time," Idiot sighed. "You might as well make the most of it."

"Alright. Time to drink till I can't feel anything!" Vanessa shouted, bursting out of Angel's room and flying down to the bar.

"That's the spirit!" Idiot shouted, following her friend to also get shitfaced.

Vanessa slid behind the bar and pulled out two bottles of wine, paying for both and handing one to Idiot.

"Wait. Before you drink, I have a little something to spice up these drinks," Idiot said, pulling out a baggie of pills.

"Eh? What are those?" asked Vanessa.

"Just a little something I made during my break a few weeks ago. These in particular are cocaine mixed with LSD and a bit of strawberry flavoring." Idiot said, taking two pills out and slipping one to her friend.

"Good thinking, mate," Vanessa said, taking the pill and putting it in her drink.

"You should be numb for... let's see... 12 hours," Idiot chirped before taking a swig of her spiked wine.

Vanessa picked up her wine and took several swigs, relishing in the sweet strawberry flavor. Angel had just caught up to the two and took a seat beside Idiot.

"I don't think I've gotten to know you as well as your friend here, toots," he purred, facing Idiot and staring intently at her. Idiot was already too drunk to really catch on to the flirting, but she at least responded the best she could in the situation.

"My NaMe CorEspOnDs To ThE wAy I DiEd… LikE a FUCKING IDIOT! Toots..." she said drunkenly.

Vanessa chuckled, just barely on the brim of not being sober.

"My friend here, Idiot, is already drunk. I- *hic* I wouldn't be surprised if she passed out real soon here..." Vanessa chuckled.

"YoU UnDeREStimAtE mY PowEr! BITCH! AnYwAYS, My DeAR FrIEnD. I sUrE hOpE YoU *hic* Can HaNDlE YoUR liQUoR." Idiot said to Vanessa

"Do I hear a- *hic* a challenge about who can get drunk the fastest?" Vanessa hummed.

"Only if you don't chicken out," Idiot said, the most sober she could be at that moment.

"I won't, mate," Vanessa promised.

"Good," Idiot exclaimed as she dumped the rest of the contents of the baggie into her drink.

"Well. I have one, you have like, fucking, 20, asshole!" Vanessa accused Idiot.

"30." Idiot corrected before chugging the contents of the bottle.

"Whatever!" cried Vanessa before chugging her wine like it was a lifeline. She then slid behind the counter and grabbed another two bottles of wine for them, handing one to Idiot. Idiot took the bottle and chugged it as fast as she could. Vanessa worked her way through the bottle, not going as fast as before, but still pretty damn fast.

"What fucking time does I have to head to Aries?" Vanessa slurred. Idiot was clocked out for a moment, laying her head on the counter, until Angel, who was witnessing all of this, lightly pushed her shoulder.

"5:00 pm, I-I think," Idiot said with a sudden bolt of attention.

"And what time is it nooow?" Vanessa mumbled.

"I don't know. My head hurts too much to read the fucking clock," Idiot complained. "How long have we been doing this?"

"Angel? What time is it?~" Vanessa mumbled to the other spider. Angel paused before answering.

"4:45," Angel sighed.

"SHIT!" Vanessa shouted before seeming to sober up in an instant.

"WE'VE BEEN DOING THIS FOR SO MANY HOURS!" Idiot screamed.

Vanessa shot out the door, making a break for Hell's Office, her heels clicking down the sidewalk.

"Wait…….. SHIT! FUCK! WAIT UP! I'M COMING!" Idiot shouted chasing after her friend.

"Where are they going?" Eric said suddenly to Angel. This sudden move only made Eric more on edge.

"Who the hell are you?" Angel said in absolute confusion.
