Chapter 13
Introductions
Vanessa sat up in her bed. It took her a minute to remember that she was in the hotel. Rent free, courtesy of Charlie. There was a sudden knocking at her door and a familiar voice.
"Hey hun! I got plans for today, just you and me!" Angel hollered through the door. Vanessa stood and groggily opened the door. She stood in her pajamas which consisted of an ice blue crop top and gray sweatpants.
She looked up at Angel and said, "Let me get ready first. What should I wear today?"
"Something edgy or punky, I guess," was Angel's response. Vanessa sent him a thumbs up and headed back into her room. She rustled through her clothes until she came across the perfect outfit. A black crop top with thin straps, high cut jean shorts and knee high boots. She shot into the shower and moved quickly. She got out and redid her bandages. Once she was dressed she did a different hair style. All the fluff in the back was combed to the front and partially covered her scarred eye. She finished and left the room, limping slightly as she went.
Angel was the only one downstairs and smirked when he saw her. "Lookin good, toots."
She smiled and blushed a bit. "So. What are our plans for today?"
"We're going to see a good friend of mine to introduce you to her," Angel stated, grabbing her wrist and pulling her along. Vanessa kept up as best as she could with her pain.
"Okay, okay! I'm coming!" Vanessa laughed at Angel's antics.
A short walk later they were at an abandoned looking building.
"Thank Satan the elevator still works. Those stairs would kill me," Angel jokes, earning another laugh from Vanessa. They moved into the building, heading straight to the elevator. Angel pressed the up arrow as the doors slid open. He allowed Vanessa in first before following her. Angel pressed the button to the top floor, the elevator moving upward. Soon enough, it reached the top floor, the doors whirring open. Vanessa noticed a humanoid demon standing near the edge.
Before Vanessa could say anything, Angel shouted to the demon. "Hey, Cherri! I brought someone you would probably like to meet."
'Cherri' turned around with a big smile on her face. "Hey, Angie. Who's this ya brought with ya?"
Vanessa decided to introduce herself. "I'm Vanessa. Nice to meetcha!"
The other chic nodded and chuckled a little. "Nice to meetcha, too. I'm Cherri Bomb. Just call me Cherri."
Vanessa quickly realized something. "Oh! You're the gal from the turf war! It's awesome to finally get to meet you!"
Cherri gave her finger guns. "That's right! But enough about me. Let's talk about you. You work at the Hazbin Hotel, right?" Vanessa nodded. "Where'd you work before that?"
Vanessa sighed. "It's kind of a long story. Are you willing to listen to it?"
Cherri nodded. "Hell yeah."
Vanessa began back when she took her job at the offices, going on to explain how the building was destroyed, that being how she got her scar, and she was moved to a new building with her friend, Idiot. She talked about how she worked there for a while before quitting and having her limb chopped off. She talked about the night Idiot left her, trying not to cry and failing horribly. And that's what left her where she is now.
Cherri was silent and unsure of what to say. "Wow. That's… deep man. Sounds pretty awful, too."
Vanessa looked away and spoke with a broken voice. "Yeah. It was." She jumped when she felt arms around her, both Cherri's and Angel's. She relaxed and mumbled a thanks.
Cherri spoke some words of encouragement. "If she fucking left you like that, then she doesn't deserve you. We're family now, and family sticks by each other's sides no matter what."
Thank you, Cherri," Vanessa hummed. Cherri didn't know what else to do, so she changed the subject.
"Wanna cause some chaos?"
"Hell yes!" was both spiders' response.
"Then let's go!" hollered Cherri, already dashing to the elevator. Vanessa jumped up and dashed in pursuit, with Angel close behind. They made it to the ground floor and began to run through the streets of hell, tormenting other demons and destroying some buildings. It was a good day full of chaos.
