Gasp. An update. It's real.
Review!
Mitchie woke up as her alarm echoed through her decorated room. She finally allowed herself to settle in; if she was going to live here she might as well make the place her own. She made sure the walls were colored light yellow custard and had sunflower colored drapes. She stretched her arms over her head, her back slightly popping from the lack of yoga in her daily routine. Mitchie made a mental note to sign up for a gym around town after school. It was Friday and Mitchie was probably the most excited, a week through hell wasn't all that bad. Caitlyn made it her 'job' to take her under her wing and gave her a small group of friends.
She noticed how small the amount of students the school had so she didn't have a lot to pick of. Mitchie got into her favorite Dior summer dress and found her favorite Jimmy Choos. She wore a causal blazer and accessorized with a few bangles and a long necklace. She picked up her hair into a messy high ponytail with a thin head band. As soon as she was satisfied with her natural make up, she walked down the stairs.
Connie had fixed her up scrabbled egg whites with whole wheat toast with a thin spread of homemade jam. Mitchie smiled lightly, as her mom went on putting dishes into the dishwasher.
On the other side of town Shane was getting ready for school; he always tried on Fridays, waking up too excited for his own good. He threw on his favorite black v-neck and dark washed jeans. He found his favorite pair of shoes and weaved his fingers through his wet locks.
"Breakfast is on the table, if you stop staring at yourself for a few minutes maybe you'll actually even get to taste it." His mom smirked as she stood at the doorway.
Shane threw her a playful glare through the mirror as he chuckled, "I'm going."
Denise smiled at her second oldest, she admired how loving he was, even though he was the one that struggles the most with his studies his drive will get him where he needs to go in life and that's all she ever wants for her children, a better future, something she tried her hardest to provide for all of them.
She walked forward and gave him a hug from the side and pulled his face to her height and planted a soft kiss on his cheek, "you grew up to be an amazing guy, Shane."
Shane's face burned light pink, as he hugged his mom back, "I had a lot of help from my awesome parents."
Denise smiled widely, tears starting to form in her eyes, Shane noticed it. These rare moments with his mom or dad is what made him want to strive for more, sometimes more than he can chew.
Shane put the last touches to his hair and walked out, sitting in front of a plate full of scrambled eggs, bacon and toast.
"Bacccooon!" Shane said in a deep voice.
Frankie laughed from the other end of the table while Nate chuckled. Shane smiled and threw Frankie a silly face before digging into his breakfast.
School was going by so slowly for both teens, neither wanting to actually go through the whole school day of not doing shit. Teachers knew not to give big assignment before the weekend, they all gave out some work for in class and whatever wasn't completed was suppose to get done over the weekend.
Mitchie finished her assignments within minutes of getting them, before she knew it, it was fourth period. She came in kind of late due to an emergency bathroom check. It looked like a stain had got on her dress; she needed to get rid of it before it was too late.
"Ms. Torres' what excuse do you have for me," Mr. Sandoval asked with his arms crossed. Mitchie felt everyone stare at her. She looked around, looked at all the faces she knew always stared but never actually made contact with any of them. She put on her best apology pouty face, as she looked passed the guy who always glared, stopping to stare back at him. She almost got lost into the intensity his hard stare held.
Mr. Sandoval coughed, and she turned her attention back at Mr. Sandoval, "you see. I was in the little girl's room, washing out a stain when I heard someone cry from one of the stalls. There was a girl who was absolutely crushed. Ever had your heart smashed into little pieces?" Mitchie asked with a hand on her heart.
Mr. Sandoval's hard stare softened, as he thought about it, then his arms became uncrossed. The class gasped and some even chuckled.
"Okay Ms. Torres, you're excused this one time. Don't make it a habit."
"Promise." Mitchie gave him a bold, promising smile.
Mr. Sandoval nodded his head as he let her pass on by to take her seat. Shane sat in his seat and bit back a rude remark under his breath; of course the spoiled princess would get away with that.
When the bell rang, Mitchie started to pick up her stuff, when she heard Mr. Sandoval call out someone's name.
"Mr. Gray, mind if you stay around for a bit."
Mitchie heard a soft groan coming from the guy who seems to do a lot of glaring, glaring at her direction. When the class cleared from most students she heard Mr. Sandoval begin to question Shane.
"What's going on Shane, last semester you were doing so good, holding up a strong C, now you're sinking below an average D. Are you not getting the material? Do you need a tutor? We have good programs after school."
"I can't afford to take time off of work right now; I'll make sure I'll get it. I'll study more."
"I don't want you to fail."
"I won't." Shane said with a hard voice, "are we done?"
"Yes. But don't fail me."
Shane scoffed as he walked out.
Mitchie stared at the direction he walked away from. The warning bell rang and she quickly made a bee line towards the gym.
Mitchie walked into the cafeteria, with a head full of thoughts. She stopped as soon as she got to her usual table then almost had an epiphany. Since when did she begin to care for others who didn't care for her?
"Hey, Mitch, you going to the party tonight?" Zane asked.
"Huh?"
"He asked if you were going to the party tonight." Caitlyn chuckled, "you okay?"
"Yeah, and I don't know. Sounds kind of lame." Mitchie said with a shrug.
"Well, it's an all senior party, almost no underclassmen ever get invited but since Zane over here, is part of the football team, he got the upper hand and got invited." Chris said with a bright smile.
Misty rolled her eyes and Caitlyn shook her head, "we're all going. You should come with. I bet it'll be fun."
Mitchie bit her lip, pondering the thought; all she really had planned was to go home and look for a gym near by then put a few hours to work. But being at the gym on the weekend, sounded lame even in her head, she nodded her head.
"Sure. Why not." Mitchie rolled her eyes, "I'll experience a real house party at an actual house."
Her friends laughed, not really knowing how much truth was behind her statement.
