Hi, sorry about the long ass wait. Life happened. And boy did it happen...
Here's an update! If you are still with me leave a review! I swear I haven't forgotten about you guys!
"Dude that was close game! Shane where are you going?" Eric yelled after Shane's retrieving body. Shane didn't look back or even made a motion to acknowledge his friend. Everyone was shocked to see Shane leave the tables for a split second and tried to ask where he was off to.
He nodded and mumbled a few words, never taking his eyes off of the brunette. He saw her being stopped by a few drunk buddies of his, but she shook her head and continued to move forward. She was a natural at blowing guys off; Shane gulped loudly, trying to make sense as to why he was following her. As soon as her silhouette disappeared in the house, his heart thumped in his chest. He didn't know how drunk she was.
He looked above everyone's head, since he was almost reaching six foot; he towered over most of his classmates. He saw the small group he's seen Mitchie hang out with. Shane rushed over to them, his slurring following a hiccup, "where's Mitchie?"
"Who's asking?" Caitlyn asked, getting in his personal space. Shane rolled his eyes and tried not to let his drunken angry side come out. He smelt the alcohol ooze out of Caitlyn's breath and shook his head.
"Look I'm just trying to look for her, I don't really have a reason as to why, I just need to speak to her."
"I haven't seen her since she left with Zane."
"Someone ask for me?" Zane said coming up from behind Shane.
"Where's Mitchie?" Misty asked.
"I don't know, some dude Sander said he was going to take care of her, keep an eye out on her."
"I got to go." Shane said as he stumbled towards the staircase.
No one was allowed to go upstairs but Shane knew that's where Sander would take girls. Shane didn't know why he was suddenly feeling protective over some girl who he's never even spoken to.
He saw the bathroom light on, and raised his knuckles to knock when he heard a girls giggle from Sander's bedroom. He turned his attention to that door when the bathroom door opened quickly, giving Shane whiplash and trip forward, straight into Mitchie.
"Ouch, what the fuck?" Mitchie asked as she glared up at the guy who was always glaring at her.
"Sorry, I'm sorry." Shane apologized like an idiot.
"You're that one guy that hates me." Mitchie smirked.
"I don't hate you."
"You look at me like I was last years Gucci collection." Mitchie said as she crossed her arms.
Shane looked at the smaller girl, who smelled delicious and almost wanted to hold on to her so her scent would surround him forever. Shane shook his head from his buzzed thoughts.
"I don't even know what that means."
"It was a simile. If you paid more attention to your school work, you'd know what that means." Mitchie snapped. Her stone fast instantly softened, almost sobering up completely.
"You know nothing about me and my school work, so keep your opinions to yourself, spoiled rich brat." Shane fired back.
"Well, at least you can tell those two things apart." Mitchie insulted.
They both stopped breathing when they heard something break downstairs and a whole bunch of yelling, Sander's doorknob started to jumble around.
Shane grabbed a hold of Mitchie's waist as he pushed her into the bathroom and closed the door, turning off the light.
"What the fuck do you think-" Mitchie started but was stopped when Shane put his hand over her mouth.
"What the fuck is going on?!" Sander's angry voice echoed loudly.
"Cops are coming!" Someone randomly yelled.
Shane instantly sobered up and called Nate.
"Where are you? Cops are coming. Meet me at my truck."
Shane and Mitchie both heard incoherent noises and footsteps.
"I have to find my friends," Mitchie slurred.
"We have no time, we have to go now."
"You cant tell me what to do." Mitchie said as she pushed Shane away.
Shane held onto her hand and interlaced their fingers, ignoring the feelings he was feeling as he did that, looking at her straight in the eyes, "we have no time. I won't let you get arrested."
"Why do you even care?"
"I actually have a heart, now come on." Shane said pulling them down the stairs, seeing everyone run in different directions. Most people were running into the vineyards, knowing it leads out to the parked cars. Shane saw a few broken glasses and a puddle of blood followed by droplets leading to the sink.
Shane couldn't see any of his friends but decided to take off the direction most people were taking off. This happened before because someone called the cops after she lost one of her friends, being too drunk to just call her friend. Shane knew these vineyards like the back of his hand.
"I hope Sander is okay." Shane whispered as he fast paced towards the direction of the cars.
Light began to peek through the vines, some were disappearing in a haste way, car honks were heard, a few people were calling out for their friends and some where just staying their.
"We're almost there." Shane said as he looked back over his shoulder and saw Mitchie wasn't doing so well keeping up, stumbling over her own feet and few branches.
Shane rolled his eyes and made no motion to warn her but he scooped her up in his arms and began to walk faster.
"Hey put me down! I'm capable of walking you big giant!" Mitchie lightly punched his chest and kicked her legs.
"That's real cute, but I really don't feel like being arrested so be a pretty little girl and shut up."
"Whatever." Mitchie huffed out and wrapped her arms around his neck. She nuzzled her face in the crock of his neck and Shane's heart sped up.
He felt her grow light as he could only guess she passed out.
After finally coming out of the jungle of vineyards he looked both directions trying to figure out what way he parked. Lights were blinding him, then his attention sparked when he saw the red and blue lights from a far.
"Shane! Shane! Over here!" Nate yelled out as he was honking his horn.
Shane made his way to Nate and opened the passenger door to his truck. It was a three seated car, so it didn't have a back row. Shane sat down and stretched out Mitchie's leg over the middle seat, grabbing the seat belt and stretching it over their bodies. He moved Mitchie slightly on his lap to try to get comfortable.
"Just get us out of here." Shane said as Nate nodded. Nate never drank at parties so Shane always gave his keys to him.
"Woah, dude, that's that girl!"
"Just drive. Now." Shane orderd.
Nate got out of there as fast as he could, pulling on the road Shane looked back in the mirrors and saw three cop cars block the ways out. Shane knew some of his friends were still back there. Mitchie began to stir awake when her phone blared through her purse.
"Where are you taking me? Who is this? Where are my friends?"
"You ask too many damn questions, answer your phone." Shane bickered.
Mitchie moved around, coming to realize that she was sitting on Shane, she huffed as she rolled her eyes.
Her phone continued to go off as she took it out, "hello? Oh my god Caitlyn! Where are you? Are you okay? Who's driving your car? Who has Zane? Who's driving Zane's car?"
Shane almost laughed at how many questions she was asking all at once, Mitchie noticed and slapped his arm, making him blush in the dark and stop. He coughed and composed himself. Nate lightly chuckled and drove the direction to their house.
"I don't know. I went to pee upstairs and then bumped into this giant. He pushed me into the bathroom to shut me up or something. No, I barely know him. I'm not that type of girl! Anyway, we heard a bunch of ruckus downstairs then someone yelled that the cops were on their way and we ran into sooo many vines. I fell asleep for a while because he picked me up, and woke up in a car driving god knows where." Mitchie hiccupped in the middle of every word, slurring her s'.
Shane knew she was slightly intoxicated.
"I'll text you when I get home or whatever. Text me when you get home, please." Mitchie said as she hung up her phone.
"Who are you and where are you taking me?" Mitchie said as she leaned her head back on the window, her eyes slightly dipped over.
"I'm Nate, the giant's brother. And from what I know I'm driving us back to our place."
"You're that barista from that café. My dad just opened up a new clinic in front of that!" Mitchie giggled as she lightly dozed off.
"Mitchie you got to wake up, we need to take you home." Shane said lightly tapping her arm.
"I can't go home. I told my mom I was going to stay at Caitlyn's."
"Where does Caitlyn live?" Nate asked.
"I don't know I'm new here. And I'm tired." Mitchie said. She didn't know what was going on; she didn't know how she got this intoxicated. She didn't know why she didn't just stay with Zane or Caitlyn. She didn't know why she trusted this giant.
"Dude, what are we going to do?"
"Fuck man, just go home, it's almost two in the morning, mom and dad are already passed out. She can sleep in my bed and I'll sleep on the floor."
Mitchie could barely make sense to what the guys were saying, she was too tired to fight her sleep. She let go and caved into the darkness. Her mind going away some place, only seeing that face that will soon haunt her dreams at night.
