Hullo, hullo faithful (and new) readers!
Just a few quick words as I've been gone so long. First of all, thanks to everyone who has been reading, commenting and PM-ing me: I see you all and I'm grateful for your continued interest.
Second, it pains me to admit this but I actually stopped watching the show after the first season. I'm not even aware if the second season was completed, or if it was picked up for a third. This has two consequences, one good, one bad. The good is that you can be assured that all aspects of my plot are of my own devising. I wrote the outline for this whole thing about a month before the first chapter was published, so at least the story retains its autonomy. The bad side is that now it's all wildly out-of-date. Any characters or major plot points in the actual series that are introduced after the first season will not be mentioned or included (as I don't know what they are). Therefore, think of this as an alternate timeline, if you will.
Third: as time has gone by I have changed significantly. This means parts of the story have, in tone, also changed. While the first half of Never Bet the Devil is somewhat straightforward, the second has become much darker and I am still determining how I feel about it. This may cause some delays for chapters four and five.
That's all! Thanks so much for your support during my hiatus, and I hope that even if you're interest in the show has dwindled, you will still find time for my little project.
A bientot! And stay warm.
