Hi guys, ok so after watching an anime (7 Seeds) I had a burst of inspiration. So this is the final chapter of Warlord for this year. Enjoy and have a good Christmas guys! (Or whatever you celebrate) and see you next year!
The New Alliance homeworld of New Terra was bustling with a large population growth from recently conquered Warlord territories. It has been a month since the Article stature expired and war could continue, as such the NA took full advantage of this and took over at least two more warlord territories. Humans were given preferential treatment while non humans weren't. In fact, no non-human could own any kind of property or get a high paying job.
They were considered to be second class citizens with the only way to make any kind of headway being indentured servitude. But it wasn't like the system as it was on Illium, the owner had no requirements to keep the slave fit and healthy. Despite its name, it was in fact slavery and all those who opposed disappeared. The new Alliance claimed to be the best chance for survival, so to the people of NA it was. Propaganda was filled into their minds 24/7 to the point were few people saw problems with what the NA was doing.
Even the non-humans in the NA were convicted, but this was mostly due to heavy brainwashing. According to the NA, humans were a superior form of life and they had the right to the galaxy. Non-humans were responsible for the fall of the galaxy so they had to make it up to humans by way of eternal servitude. This is what the people were fed, and due to how the NA operated, no one questioned it. Those that did, didn't last long.
At one of the train stations several groups of non-humans were gathered ready for transport to start a new life somewhere on the planet. A place here non-humans could exist in peace. But this only applied to the adults, not the children. Little did they know what would soon happen. After the train was filled it left the station with no non-humans waiting for the next one. After a few hours the train arrived at a new station with what seemed to be an arcology being created.
The stain soon stopped and the doors opened letting off the train. The non-humans were lined up by race before being examined by doctors. After that the person who was examined was led though one of two doors. Section A, and section B.
Nirazea Monis waited for her turn to be checked out by the doctors wondering what was happening. Due to the brainwashing, she thought that she was in the wrong for doubting humans but something told her that this wasn't right. It didn't feel right and that feeling never stopped until she was examined by the doctor who then pointed to the section B door. Nirazea walked though it and followed the corridor down until she joined a group of asari in a room.
"What's happening?" she asked.
"We got told to wait here," one said. "Someone said that we'll be led to the building site soon,"
That made Nirazea nod in response and she waited. Several more asari came in before the door closed and locked. A sound then met their ears, it was a sort of whirring buzz sound that echoed in their ears making them look around. Just then the floor from under them fell dropping the ones in the middle fell into a large bloodied spinning blade. They didn't have time to scream as their bodies were cut into little more then giblets. The ones who where close to the walls managed to scream before they were fed into the blades.
Within 3 minutes the screaming stopped and the floor returned to normal letting more asari inside, waiting to be slaughtered. The same was happening with the other non-human groups. Selected to die. The blood and meat that was left being was filled into tanks that were to be taken away to be distilled into materials to be used again.
As for the ones who were selected to go though the section A door, they were strapped to beds to be experimented upon. To the NA, they were little more than objects.
Mikyle watched as another set od non humans were slaughtered before walking away. He didn't care for the pleas of non-human subjects; they had no right to live after what they did. As he walked, one of the NA doctors walked up to him.
"Sir, we have the initial tests for the ghost project," he said handing a tablet to him.
"Very promising," he replied as the two of them walked down the corridor. "How long until we can have live testing?"
"Around 6 months sir," the scientist replied. "But I'm concerned about the xenos numbers. Even if we exclude the children from the procedure, we may run out of non-humans within two years. Which means that our supply of slaves and material will not last,"
"So, what do you recommend?" Mikyle asked.
"A breeding program with growth acceleration," the scientist suggested. "We test the fertility of each of the races and pick the most fertile of the group and use them as cows. We lobotomise them first so that they don't have the wit to understand what's happening and use them to create more and more slaves for our population,"
"Sounds like an idea," the President agreed, "Write up a project form and submitted to me by the end of the week and keep up with the reports,"
The scientist nodded and walked off while the President just kept reading the report. Unknown to the both of them, they were being watched.
OOOOO
Omega had changed from being a seedy hive of scum and villainy, to a respectable mining outpost and city with some seedy actions. Afterlife was bustling with activity like normal as dancers danced and people drank their sorrows away or to celebrate. They had benefitted from being a member of the Solar Empire and that was clear. Better mining opportunities, trade was booming and more. But one person wasn't so lucky as he drank.
Kolyat Krios sat in front of the bar taking the occasional swig of his drink. The green skinned Drell couldn't explain the horror he saw. It wasn't a bounty, it wasn't a mission, it was a rumour he was investigating. And now he didn't know what to do with that information. He knew he needed to do something, but what? He had no idea. For all he knew the other factions did the same thing and wouldn't care.
A lifetime of distrust towards his father made him question others. It wasn't an intentional thing but it wasn't something he could do about it now. Thane was long dead and Kolyat dismissed all his father had said before he died. He now knew what his father meant; the problem was he couldn't apologise for it. Sighing he took another drink. Having a perfect memory was a burden that others couldn't share, he wished they could.
Just then a woman with short brownish black hair sat next to him. "Scotch on the rocks," she requested and the bar tender nodded.
"If you are here for a discussion or a one-night stand, you came to the wrong Drell," Kolyat muttered.
"Is your name Koylat Krios?" the woman asked.
"Yes," he replied uninterested.
"Then I found the right man," she said as her scotch arrived and making the Drell look to her.
"What do you need me for?" he asked as she took a drink and looked to him.
"I'm Ashley Shepard," she replied making his eyes widen slightly. "I knew your father during the Reaper war,"
"I know who you are, and that you served with my father. But what do you need me for?" he asked with slight surprise.
"Your help, we have a cult who are causing problems at a temple and we also need you to help with training,"
"You need my help with all of that?" he asked still with surprise. "Why?"
"Thane never gave up hope on you. When I served with him, he gave you high praise on what you did and how you did it," she said. "He rusted you with a lot, you trained yourself, while he wanted you to do something different what you did during the Reaper war, helping people, taking out high value targets, he couldn't be prouder with what you did,"
Kolyat hung his head. "He was proud of me?" he whispered.
"More than a father could be, which is why I want your help. Like father, like son,"
He nodded in response before looking at her. "There is something you need to know,"
OOOOO 4 days later.
With the information Koylat gave Liara's intelligence team made a move and began to do what they could. Soon she got the command group into the small briefing room and began to show the images of the base.
"From what Koylat has told me," she started, "This place, on the outside, is meant to be an experimental arcology but on the inside it's like an abattoir. Non humans are led into a room before they are dropped into a fan and cut to pieces,"
"Sounds like a concentration camp," one of the officers said in a disgusted tone.
"I agree," Liara said. "Once the people are cut to pieces, what's left of them then get taken to a nearby facility where their bodies are distilled into their base elements and used for other things,"
"Such as?" John asked doing his best to hide his anger.
"We believe food," Liara said in a disgusted tone.
Bile rose in the mouths of the people present as the word 'food' echoed in their ears.
"We have also reason to believe that they are working on an infiltration project," that caught people's attention. "According to Kolyat, they are working on some kind of projects referred to as Ghost. But what this entails, we have no idea," she admitted. "The whole area however is a closed off section on the planet making information gathering difficult, even to my contacts. The NA is a very strict regime, they make sure to crack down on criminal and terrorist activity. Unfortunately, that includes being associated with the Shadow broker,"
"So why are we only finding out about this now?" Ashley asked.
"My guess is due to the Article cease-fire rules. At the time the Alliance was focusing several engagements but during the Article talks, the requirement for all wars to stop while talks were going ahead. It's likely that the NA came up with this idea during the talks without anyone noticing as our attention was on the Xia. They took the opportunity to turn part of their population as a resource,"
"This needs to stop," said another officer.
"Agreed, however at the moment we cannot," Liara said as an image of the pollical galactic map appeared. "Even if we want to get into conflict with them, they are too far away,"
The rest of the command group nodded as they looked at the map. The NA was the biggest of all the other factions, but it was to the galactic north. But in order to get there, they would need to carve though at least three different warlord territories that would make it clear where they are heading. That would lead to the NA fortifying their borders and planets. Not to mention that the minor Warlord territories that where in the way were too small and they would be filtered into a bottle neck.
That would stall their advance and take out a lot of their troopers. The room fell silent as the people thought what to do. Tali, who had reminded quiet though the briefing then spoke up.
"I think I have an idea," she said as she stood and walked up to the map. "If we take over these territories," she said pointing at two of the three minor warlord territories, then we can negotiate with these two Warlord," she then pointed to the minor territory and another one who was slowly becoming a master. "We could move in while the Korgan and Oda's forces move on other side," she suggested. "A war on two fronts,"
"That's all well and good," another officer said. "But the NA would detect out movements,"
"Not with our new ships," Tali then smiled.
