Shepard stood behind Ned, his hands on his Revenant. Garrus was by the doors, hand on his sniper rifle. Grunt was mixed in with the Northman guards, brandishing his two hammers itching for a fight to begin.
"Your son has no claim on the throne," Ned announced to the queen. Shepard kept his tongue silent, knowing that this woman was not stable and the slightest thing could send her over the edge. She scoffed while Joffrey shouted, "Liar!" petulantly.
"You condemn yourself with your own mouth, Lord Stark," Cersei added almost immediately after, "Ser Barristan, seize this traitor,"
The knight stepped forward and Eddard told his men not to harm him. Cersei spoke again, saying "You think he stands alone?" The Hound drew his sword and Joffrey shouted, "Kill him! Kill all of them I command it!" The Lannister soldiers tensed up, ready for the fight to begin.
"Commander," Eddard said to Slynt, "Take the Queen and her children into custody. Escort them back to their apartments and keep them there," The man gave an order, and spears were leveled at the Lannisters. Shepard allowed himself a smile behind his Death Mask. Even someone as insane as Joffrey or Cersei would surrender under these circumstances.
"I want no bloodshed," Eddard announced, "Tell your men to lay down their swords. No one needs to die." Cersei looked at the Northern Lord smugly before glancing at Slynt. "Fuck," Shepard said as he realized what was about to happen. "NOW!" Slynt shouted and spears found themselves in the back of Stark Bannerman. But Shepard was already firing, his M-76 barking incendiary munitions at the enemy. It was the first time the weapon had been fired in Westeros precisely for the reaction it gave. Every Westerosi in the room flinched back away from the thunderous baying of the weapon.
"I AM KROGAN!" Grunt shouted, charging gleefully at the nearest enemies, which happened to be Gold Cloaks. He swung one of his hammers and sent a man flying. The second took another's head clean off with enough force to knock another man of the watch unconscious. Garrus's M-29 sniper also joined the cacophony of battle. In a blink, Slynt's head simply vanished from the sniper's burst. He retargeted and killed each of the King's Guard, save for Barristan as per Eddard's orders.
The Hound had already retrieved Joffrey and was dragging him out of the room, despite the teenager's protests. "We've lost the momentum, we need to withdraw," Shepard said over comms. Eddard, who was withdrawing his blade from the neck of a Lannister soldier, was grabbed by Little Finger, "I told you not to trust me," he said, spinning the lord around, "Try and kill me, Turian, and he dies," the Riverlands Highborn shouted at Garrus.
Shepard made a call and drew his M-6 Carnifex. "Sorry Ned," he said quickly before shooting the Lord Paramount in the thigh, the round punching through the tissue and into Little Finger's leg. He screamed in pain and recoiled backward, exposing his head to Garrus. And like Janos Slynt, Lord Baelish hit the ground headless. Shepard holstered the Carnifex and one-handed the Revenant assault rifle, wildly spraying rounds at the attackers. "We've lost, we need to withdraw! Now!"
"My daughters!" Ned shouted.
"Are no use to the Lannisters dead. They will be fine, but we need to go. Now!" Before giving the lord a chance to respond he shouts, "Grunt! Carry Lord Stark!" The Krogan obliges, throwing his hammers at two separate targets before grabbing the lord and throwing him over his shoulder, drawing his Collector Assault Rifle, a trophy from the raid on the Collector base. It had been modified with a more advanced cooling system and a larger caliber barrel. He had effectively turned it into a one-handed LMG. Well, one-handed for a Krogan.
Garrus secured them a path out of the Throne Room, switching to his Phaeston. The remaining Stark Bannerman moved into a defensive position to defend their lord's retreat. They spilled out of the room and sprinted towards the exit of the Keep. "Get to the docks, he has a ship prepared for his daughters!" Shepard shouted at Grunt, "We'll hold them off," he pointed at one of the surviving Northerners "Go with Grunt, protect your lord. Garrus and I will buy you time,"
The man nodded and they started to run for the docks. "This will be fun Shepard," Garrus said, loading a new thermal clip into his rifle. But instead of throwing aside the used one like he normally would, he slammed it into a holding place on his armor. They only had so many to use, and if there was a way to reuse them they would need to find it.
"How many do you have?" Shepard asked.
"Twenty of the Regulars, four of their elites, and two of the leaders. By Wrex's system, that's thirty-eight. You?"
"Twenty-two," Shepard said softly.
"What was that? Garrus asked. Before Shepard responded a door opened and a new tide of Lannisters charged out. Shepard primed a grenade and chucked it at them, sending seven men to their deaths.
"Twenty-nine," Shepard said louder.
"You're still losing," The Turian remarked.
"We've still got a city to fight out of," Shepard countered, "Come on, let's go find a choke point."
Author's Note
This is a test to see how people would respond to the idea of Mass Effect/Game of Thrones crossover. Plus, I wanted to write a fight scene with a mix of melee and guns. Curious how people will feel about this, give me any comments criticisms or concerns you may have. Have a great day and stay safe. Also, thanks for reading.
