'"Dipsy!" she yelled chasing after her getting a bark in return
"Will you stop running" she sighed her eyes widening when she crashed into a man sending him tumbling
"Woah…" he coughed trying to stop the dog from licking his face
"Are you okay!" she skidded to a holt next to him clipping the lead on Dipsy's collar
"You should learn to control your animal" he snapped moving to stand
"I'm so sorry"
"If you can't control it you should…" he paused looking across at her
"She's got a mind of her own…"
"No harm done" he shook his head
"Are you sure?" she noticed the grass stain on his shirt
"It'll come out" he brushed at it slightly
"Right…" she looked at him confused
"Ah.. what's her name?" he reached down scratching the German Sheppard's head
"Dipsy" she smiled easing a little on the leash
"Like Dipstick?"
"Mm-no more like the Teletubbies" she smirked
"Teletubbies?" he looked back up at her
"My Nephew's doing, she was a gift for my birthday, and he called her Dipsy" she laughed softly
"Well Dipsy, it's a pleasure to meet you and?" he reached a hand across
"Kate, McGregor" she slowly placed her hand in his
"Mike, Flynn"
"Well Mr Flynn I was just about to drop her off home and head to the local for a drink if you're interested?" she pulled her hand back
"Oh I…"
"Think of it as an apology for ruining your shirt"
"This drink Alcoholic or non-alcoholic?" he raised an eyebrow
"Definitely alcoholic"
"I'd like that" he smiled softly
"Great, give me bout five?" she looked down at her watch
"I'll meet you there" he nodded, a small smile adorning his face as he watched her walk off.
Crashing through the front door hours later with their lips seeking one another's Kate grinned when he pushed his hand under her shirt and across her chest, pinning her against the wall
"This.. way…" he moved them towards an open door
"Mm-hmm" she moaned against his lips,
dropping her against the bed she let out a soft laugh when a fluffy companion jumped up next to them
"Well hello Dipsy" he grinned from his place above her
"I'm sorry.. I thought she was outside" she turned her head to look at her
"It's okay" he laughed softly when Dipsy gave Kate a quick kiss and jumped off the bed her toe nails tapping against the floor beds as she walked down the hall
"Well…" she wiped the slobber off her cheek
"Now where were we?" he teased pushing his hand down her thigh meeting her lips in a fiery kiss he groaned when Kate flipped them straddling his lap.
Running his hand along her exposed back he moved it up tangling it through her hair while his other rested across her waist,
moving in slow movements as she sat across his lap he looked up at her with a cheeky grin when she dropped her head back in pleasure he nipped across her chest,
it had been a passionate night lasting until all hours of the morning but by the time the sun had come up she'd woken up alone in a cold bed with a purple rose sitting on the pillow,
she'd kept that rose too placed it in her favourite book and every now and then when she'd remember back to that night she'd look at that rose a symbol of what that steamy night of passion had created.'
Walking down the hall Kate pushed open the door getting a head popping up in return
"Morning old girl" she smirked when the now senior dog jumped off the bed and moved towards her,
kneeling down she brushed her hand across her head
"You look after him again" she placed a kiss on her head before moving back and following Dipsy towards the backdoor
letting her out Kate smiled sadly when Dipsy struggled down the steps to the garden,
closing the door she made her way back up the hall and into the bedroom
"Morning Monkey" she slowly sat down on the bed
"Mmm" he mumbled in his sleep
"It's time to get up" she arose off the bed and pulled back his blanket
"Sleep"
"Don't make me do it"
"Sleep" he repeated
"You asked for it" Kate leaned down
"No!" he giggled when she blew raspberries against his neck
"You awake now?" she pulled back her eyes meeting with his tired green ones
"Yes, yes I'm awake" he rolled over
"How'd you sleep?" she brushed her hand through his brown curls
"Dipsy squished me most of the night" he smirked
"But did she keep the nightmares away?"
"There were a few" he sat up yawning
"I'm sorry Monkey" she arose off the bed and lifted him up to stand
"It's okay, Dipsy ran around barking at all the badness" he laughed
"Is that so?"
"Yeah! And she even ate the monster's" he jumped into her arms
"Well how about your favourite breakfast to celebrate" she held him tight
"Pancakes!" he dropped his head back
"Pancakes!" Kate laughed
"Can Dipsy have some?" he asked when she began making her way into the kitchen
"Lets give her some alone time first okay" she sat him down on one of the booths near the bench
"Can I help?" he shifted to sit on his knees while Kate collected the ingredients from the pantry
"Absolutely"
"Yay!" he giggled pulling the bowl towards him,
shaking her head Kate couldn't help but smile her life had changed the minute her little boy entered the world;
after a passionate one night stand that lasted all hours into the morning she'd never expected to find out 3 months later that she was Pregnant,
she was only 25 what did she know about being a Mother?
But once he'd entered the world she knew her sole purpose was to protect this little human being,
whose eyes were as green as trees and he had these brown curls that looked like something from a fairy-tale her prefect little Prince,
her little Monkey the only problem…
his Father didn't know he existed;
little did she know that was all about to change,
that in a matter of time it was all about to come crashing down.
