"Are you ok?" a voice came from over the injured individual.
"He is still breathing. We need to get him to a hospital." Came another voice.
The injured individual started to groan while taking steady breaths trying to speak, "Th-the emeralds…" He said to the unknown voices.
"Emeralds? What emeralds? Who are you?" Said one of the voices.
The individual's vision began to blur as the voices became more and more distorted to the point he couldn't make out what they were saying.
"Hey. Hey! Hang in there! Someone will help you soon just don't go to sleep!" Called one of the voices.
The individual groaned slightly then blacked out.
Later that Day
The individual woke up with a gasp and looked around before groaning. "What the…where am I?" He said softly. "This doesn't seem like Mobius…" He got out of the bed he was resting in and walked out of the room only to come face to face with what looks to be…a unicorn?
"Oh you're awake. How are you feeling?" She asked him.
"Either I'm still dreaming…or there actually is a unicorn in a doctors outfit talking to me right now." He said.
"Well I can certainly tell you without a shadow of a doubt, you are not dreaming." The unicorn responded. "I am Dr. Horse, and you are?"
The individual looked at the unicorn, "Uh…yeah, the name's Shadic…and I'm…" Shadic paused and his eyes went wide, "Wait…the emeralds! Where are they? Did someone find them?" He said with a slight panic.
Dr. Horse looked at Shadic confused, "Uh…no. Why?"
Shadic then ran out of the hospital and looked around ok gotta find the 7 chaos emeralds quick! Wait…I sense on near but it's moving…and quick!" He said looking to the sky seeing a rainbow streak fly by causing him to give chase.
The streak didn't seem to notice Shadic and kept zooming with Shadic on its trail. "Hey! Stop!" he yelled causing onlookers to see him and move out the way as he flipped and ran along walls.
The streak looked back and saw Shadic before smirking and speeding up, "You want to talk, you gotta catch me first!" They said back to him.
Shadic growled and began to boost to try and catch up to the streak, "Damn. They are blazing!" He said to himself before rolling into a ball going faster and jumping high over the streak where he discovered the streak to be a cyan pegasus.
Their eyes met for a second with the look of shock coming over the pegasus before Shadic attempted to divebomb her only to feel weaker and instead fall out of the sky.
"What the hell?" He said before flipping and landing on his feet while the pegasus got away.
"You have to do better than that!" She said to him before disappearing into the clouds.
"What the hell just happened? It's like my power just…faded for a second." Shadic said to himself, "This doesn't make any sense. If the emeralds are in fact here, then why do I feel…weaker?"
He ran back to the hospital where he met back up with the doctor, "Hey, Dr. Horse was it? What can you tell me about around here?"
The doctor looked at Shadic, "Well that depends, what exactly do you mean by that?"
Shadic thought about the question, "Hmm…let's say I was a tourist and not from around here. What am I looking at when I come to here?"
"Well, right this way. Allow me to show you." Dr. Horse walked Shadic around the town and showed him everything. "Welcome to Equestria and one of its most known locations, Ponyville."
Shadic nodded and followed him around looking at everything and keeping a mental note.
"There are plenty of things to keep you entertained if you ask me, and the locals are very friendly and nice. So you don't have to worry about a thing." Doc Horse said as Shadic to be followed by a few mares.
"Uh Doc?" He said.
Doc Horse turned around and saw Shadic being inspected by 2 unicorns.
"Interesting, I don't think I've ever seen something like you before? What are you?" asked a purple unicorn.
"Uh…" Shadic responded.
"Interesting clothing. May I take a look at it?" Asked a white unicorn.
Shadic just raised and eyebrow and backed away. "Ok. I need everyone to take 2 steps back."
They did then he looked at the Doctor, "Thanks for the tour. I can handle the rest from here." He gave Doctor Horse and smirk and a wink.
The Doctor nodded back but walked up to him, "Before I let you go. Are you sure you're alright? Nothing broken or anything feel…off?"
Shadic shook his head and Doc Horse walked away, "If you ever need me, you know where I'll be." He told Shadic.
Shadic then looked at the 2 unicorns and sighed. "Ok…how do I explain this to anyone?"
"Your aura it doesn't seem magical." Said the purple unicorn.
Shadic's eyes went wide and he looked at the purple unicorn, "My wa-? How did you…"
"Let's just say, I can see different energies." She said with a light giggle.
"Twilight, where are our manners? He haven't even introduced ourselves to this gentleman." Said the white unicorn interrupting the purple unicorn. "A pleasure to meet you stranger, I my name is Rarity, though I'm sure you have heard of me." She held out her hoof.
"And I am Twilight Sparkle. I it's a pleasure." Twilight said also holding out her hoof.
Shadic shook both of their hooves and smiled, "My name is Sonic…wait no Shadow...wait no."
The 2 girls looked at each other before looking back at Shadic who seemed to be slightly conflicted.
Thinking back to how he answered before he cleared his throat, "I'm neither Sonic, nor Shadow. I am a fusion between the two. I am the true ultimate lifeform, Shadic!" He said with such confidence.
Twilight seemed a bit weirded out by Shadic and laughed nervously causing him to do the same, "Heh, sorry, I just get a little too excited. Didn't mean for it to come out like that."
Rarity giggled, "Oh don't be silly. We are used to that around here."
Shadic nodded to her then looked around, "Speaking of here…where is here? And do you gals know the directions to a place called Mobius?"
Twilight now seemed to be confused, "Mobius? Where exactly is that?"
Shadic seemed a little tense, "Well, uh, its where I'm from. Do you have a map or something? I could show it to you."
Twilight nodded, "I do in fact. Its at my house, come with me." Twilight said walking away.
Rarity stayed behind, "I do have to finish some designs back at the boutique. I will catch up with you later Twi Darling."
Shadic and Twilight nodded to Rarity before continuing walking away.
At Twilight's House
Twilight and Shadic walked in and shut the door behind them.
"Spike, I'm home!" Twilight said to the stairs.
Shadic looked around, "You must really like reading. Or are you the librarian?"
Twilight laughed, "Nope, you had it right the first time. This is where I live, me and my assistant spike."
"Oh? What does this, Spike, look like? Is he a unicorn or a pegasus?" Shadic asked as they started walking up the stairs.
"He is actually a dragon." She said as she walked over to a little basket and tapped something.
A small purple and green dragon stretched and yawned, "Morning, Twilight-" Spike stopped once he saw Shadic. "Uh, who's your friend?"
Twilight was about to talk but Shadic beat her to it, "My name is Shadic, Shadic the Hedgehog! The true ultimate life form!" Shadic said proudly.
Twilight cleared her throat before pulling out a large map and opening it on her desk, "Hey, Shadic? Can you show me where this, Mobius, is located?"
Shadic nodded then walked over and started inspecting the map, "That's weird." He said to her.
"What's wrong?" Twilight asked him.
"It's not on here. Hell, now that I think about it…I don't even see Angel Island either." He responded looking at her then back to the map. "Even more so, what's on this map are islands and continents I didn't even know existed. It's like…this isn't my world anymore." He said looking at her now.
"Well, if that's true, one of 3 things could be happening. 1, you could be from another universe/dimension which would be highly unlikely. 2, you could have traveled through time and ended up in the future or past, depending on what time period you're from. Or 3, you just could've been dreaming what you think might be real." Twilight told the blue hedgehog.
"Hm…"Shadic crossed his arms and closed his eyes trying to remember what happened before he woke up. "I cant really remember much of where I'm from but I do remember being there…but not as me."
"What do you mean by that?" Twilight asked, very confused on Shadic's words.
"Well I remember being 2 different beings. 1 by the name of Sonic the hedgehog, and another by the name of Shadow the hedgehog…but how I got here…is all just blank." Shadic responded before sitting in a chair.
Twilight seemed slightly less confused, "Well, how did they fuse together? And how would you have gotten sent here?"
Shadic shrugged, "The last time I remember being fused was fighting Nazo and beating him. Besides that…I don't know what to tell you."
"Nazo? What's that?" Twilight asked sitting next to him.
"It's not a what, but instead a who." Shadic responded.
"Who?" Twilight now asked.
"He was a guy I ended up having to fight because he tried blowing up the world. All for some power high." Shadic said to her.
"What!" Both Twilight and Spike said in unison.
"Yep, he wanted to be the strongest in the universe and one of the ways of doing that…was to blow up the earth to shatter the master emerald." Shadic commented while looking out a window.
"Master emerald? What is that, and what does that have to do with power?" Twilight said levitating a quill and paper to her.
"The master emerald is a large green gemstone…about the size of your bed over there, with infinite energy stored inside. Its rumored that the Master Emerald is infite energy incarnate. You can see how a guy with a superiority complex would like for it to stop being infinity. So, he was gonna blow up the planted to shatter the master emerald, which would scatter its remnants throughout the cosmos, along with its power, never to be restored again." He explained.
Spike's mouth was watering from hearing about a gemstone that large while Twilight was frantically writing this all down.
It took everything in me to beat him, though I was relieved when I did. After the fight, everything went blank for me…I think that's when Sonic and Shadow defused. The weird thing is that, I thought I would've defused by now…but I cant seem to. I think, I'm stuck like this…not that I have a problem with it." Shadic said before looking back at Twilight.
"Infinite energy…that's honestly something that would be interesting to see." Twilight said with a slight blush. "Think of what power and energy like that could do for a place like Equestria. With that much energy you could-"
"Raise and suspend an entire island over sea and not have to worry about it falling, build the entirety of a battle fleet, or send a gigantic reactor hurdling toward earth." Shadic said.
"Huh? What do you mean?" Twilight asked.
"Nothing, just old adventures that I witnessed in fragments…trust me, if you thought the master emerald was cool, you should see the…" Shadic paused before his eyes began to widen, "Chaos emeralds!" he yelled slightly panicking.
"Chaos emeralds? What are those?" Twilight asked.
"Lesser versions of the master emerald, they are here with me! I need to find them!" Shadic said before standing and running out Twilight's house.
He looked around and closed his eyes trying to locate the closest emerald to his current location, "Come on…come on…where are…got it!" He looked toward the outskirts of the town and took a deep breath. I can only hope, no one has found it"
Twilight came outside only to see Shadic race off, "Woah…he is fast…" She said watching him leave a blue trail of energy behind, "Where is he going? The only closest place in the direction is…Canterlot."
Shadic kept running and didn't stop though he did feel himself start to slow down, "Damnit…my powers are diminishing…its probably because I haven't been in contact with chaos energy for a long time." He said still trying to keep up speed.
It was around sunset by the time he arrived to what looked to be large kingdom filled with semi ornate building and scenery.
He walked up and saw a large gate that was being guarded, "Hm…security probably wont let a stranger in…this is a large stretch…but…Chaos…control!" Shadic was gone from outside the gates and was not in the middle of the kingdom.
This place is beautiful to look at…unfortunately, I don't have time to sightsee. Argh!" He grabbed his gut and got down on one knee, "That chaos control really to a bit out of me…if I don't get my hands on a chaos emerald soon...trying to maintain this controlled form will be the least of my concern." Shadic said standing back up and walking around.
He sensed it, the emerald's power coming from what looked to be a jewelry store. That was still opened.
"Perfect, I can pay for the emerald with rings I'm sure." He started to walk to the store before stopping, seeing a midnight blue unicorn, no, pegasus? "What is that? It has a unicorn horn…but pegasus wings…whatever it is, it's majestic and apparently…radiating with some kind of energy."
The midnight blue mare walked into the jewelry store and came out a couple minutes later with a satchel now around her body.
Shadic looked at the satchel and his eyes widened, "That bag…I can feel it…the emerald's inside."
His eyes widened and he began to follow the mare around, watching her every move.
After what seemed like an eternity, Shadic saw her walk into a large castle, "Oh you have got to be kidding me!" he said before ducking into a bush. He had to come up with a plan otherwise this could all go south for him.
He didn't want to get into any conflict seeing as he is very weak so he would have to stealth is way in long enough to get the chaos emerald and get out.
Against his better wishes, he would have to use chaos control to teleport in the castle, since he didn't have an emerald, boosting at light speed would break the sound barrier and alert everyone, he couldn't stop time without an emerald, and flying would easily get him spotted.
"Alright…this is going to hurt. Chaos…Control!" He disappeared in an instant.
Shadic reappeared in the castle garden and collapsed into a soft flower bed. "My body…its starting to give out. I wont survive another chaos control." He said before starting to push himself off the ground.
He snuck in the main hallway and looked around, "No one is around…I can sense the emerald. It's near."
Shadic spent the next half hour sneaking past guards and staying silent until he found the satchel in an empty bedroom. "No one home…now the emerald." He walked over to the satchel and opened it seeing a bright red glow.
"The red chaos emerald…come to Shadic." he reached in only to get shot through a wall by an unknown energy beam.
He landed on the ground with the satchel next to him. He quickly reached for it only to get hit again and thrown into a wall. "Argh! What the…"
The midnight blue mare was standing in the hole of the bedroom wall and was launching attacks at Shadic who was now dodging.
"Whoa whoa!" He said trying now to get hit while also trying to get closer to the satchel.
The midnight blue mare hit him directly with another energy shot sending him flying.
"No…I cant let this emerald get away from me! Chaos Control!" Shadic yelled before teleporting back at the satchel and reaching in but stopping as he felt…empty.
He dropped the satchel and fell to his knees before collapsing and breathing heavily.
No…I was so close…I was right there. I tried my best to keep myself together…
Shadic watched as the midnight blue mare walk toward him.
Tails…Knuckles…Rouge…Amy…Cream…Omega…I'm sorry…
She got closer and readied and energy beam.
"Hmph…giving up already? How are you half of me?"
"Huh? Who's there?"
"Ease up, will ya? He doesn't exactly know what's going on.
"Who are you 2? What's going on?"
"We will explain later…but you cant give up now. Shadic! Don't give up."
"You better get your ass up."
The midnight blue mare stood overtop Shadic's body and went to grab the satchel until she saw his finger twitch. "Huh?" She said confused.
Shadic instinctively grabbed the emerald inside and gained a surge of power causing the mare to get pushed back, "Hiyaaaaaaaaa!" Within seconds, the mare could feel Shadic's power skyrocketing from what it was before.
"Interesting." She said watching him bring himself to his feet.
"Heh, that was a close call. A little too close If you ask me." He said, narrowing his eyes at her.
The mare readied a volt of magic and shot it at Shadic only for him to kick the shot into the distance.
"Oh yeah, I got my power back! Now then…shall we dance?" He said getting into a fighting stance.
The mare smirked flying high into the now night sky and readied 4 orbs that radiated white like a full moon.
Shadic flew up into the sky and tossed the emerald up repeatedly then grabbed it absorbing it and its energy.
The mare started firing multiple orbs at Shadic who was deflecting them effortlessly and started flying around her.
"Chaos Spear!" He began throwing spears of chaos energy at her causing her to now go defensive giving Shadic the opening he needed to fly up to her and throw a punch but not contacting her only just stopping short of her face and tapping it, "Boop." He said teasingly before dashing back.
The mare felt insulted and started to growl at the now smirking Shadic.
Shadic now watched as the mare started forming what looked to be a headpiece and her mane started turning translucent. "Hm?" He raised an eyebrow and got ready.
The mare laughed maniacally and rushed Shadic with a barrage of kicks and magical attacks causing him now to go entirely defensive.
He was blocking most of her attacks but got jabbed in the arm by her horn. "Ah!" He yelled before kicking her away.
The mare was knocked back and smirked as she didn't seem at all phased by this fight. Shadic on the other hand, was starting to feel weak, "Huh? What's so funny?"
"Oh nothing, just that you wont be able to fight for much longer." Shadic stopped for a second, "What do you mean?"
"That little jab in your arm? I'm stealing energy from you as we fight." She said causing Shadic to get a bit worried.
Damnit, I got too careless…I need to end this fight quickly.
"Fine then…I've been holding back anyway. If youre saying that I wont be able to fight much longer, then I better end this quickly." The mare seemed confused, "Hm? What do you mean? You raise your energy and I will take it all!"
"Well I will call out your bluff on that!" Shadic responded before pulling the emerald out and charging his energy off it. "Haaaaaaaa!"
Onlookers watched as Shadic's normal blue color started to flash yellow a couple times before staying permanently yellow.
"It's been a long with since I used my old super form. So, lets see it! Drain my energy!" Shadic yelled as he rushed in causing the mare to fire more orbs at him. He kicked them every which way and got up close to her.
"Called it." He said to her before kneeing her in the gut then punching her to the ground and launching a chaos spear at her.
There was an explosion before the mare rushed at him again and teleported behind him bucking him in the back of the head to send him flying and shot 4 fireballs at him.
Shadic knocked 3 away and caught the 4th one and returned it to sender. "Here! Catch!" he yelled as he lobbed it back at her.
The mare kicked the fireball down causing it to hit a house and set it on fire. Shadic and the mare watched as a family rushed out.
"My babies!" A mare yelled looking at the house.
Shadic's went wide as he looked at his opponent, "Ok, time out! Let's help them first!"
The mare laughed, "For what? I have no concern for them!" She rushed at Shadic and went on another onslaught trying to jab him again.
Shadic kept dodging and roundhouse kicked her to send her flying before rushing to the burning house.
"Your babies! Where are they?" He asked the scared mare.
She pointed to the 3rd floor and frantically yelled. "In there. Please you have to help!"
Shadic nodded and ran into the burning building up to the 3rd floor where he started hearing the sound of infants crying. "In there!"
He grabbed a door and ripped it off seeing a foal and a filly in their cribs. He quickly grabbed them and looked outside, "Chaos! Control!" He yelled but nothing happened. "Huh, what's going on?" He said as he reverted back to his base form. "She is still draining my energy…are you fucking kidding me!"
Outside, the mare was laughing maniacally as she was getting stronger and Shadic weaker.
"Damnit! Think Shadic think! Wait…that's it!" He sat the infants down and pulled out the chaos emerald, "See this shiny thing?" The infants looked at it and reached for it.
Shadic gave it to them, "I need you both to share this." He placed it in their grasp and looked around, "Chaos! Control!" The emerald reacted and teleported the infants out leaving him in there.
"Shit…I'm feeling weaker already." He said as the house start to collapse. "I need to get out of here now!" He ran for a nearby window and unblocked it before leaping out and onto he ground.
He slowly got up seeing the foal and filly in safe and sound before turning his gaze to the mare who seemed to have stopped her attack. "You…helped them?"
Shadic nodded, "The fight was between you and me…I refused to let bystanders get caught in the crossfire."
The mare returned back to normal and gave Shadic back the chaos emerald before hearing some familiar voices, "Shadic! Princess Luna!"
Both of the turned to see Twilight and spike running their way along with Rarity and a few others.
"Ah, Twilight, good to see you." The mare said.
"Wait Twilight…you 2 know each other?" Shadic asked seeming genuinely confused.
"Of course, this is Princess Luna." Twilight responded.
Shadic looked at Princess Luna, "I had no idea I was fighting a princess."
Princess Luna giggled, "What you see is not always what you get."
"Wait, fight? What do you mean? What happened here?" Twilight asked seeing a fire being put out.
Shadic looked at Luna then to Twilight, "Just a slight misunderstanding. Nothing major."
"Twilight, I didn't know, this was Shadic that you talked about in your letter. Nightmare Moon almost killed him." Luna whispered to Twilight.
She gulped then looked to Shadic who was holding out the chaos emerald.
"Oh Shadic, let me introduce you to my friends. That there is Pinkie Pie," Twilight pointed to a pink mare with a very poofy mane, "that's AppleJack," she then pointed to an orange mare with a cowboy hat, "that's Fluttershy," next was a yellow pegasus mare with a pink mane, "you already know Rarity, and that's Rainbow Dash." Twilight then pointed to a cyan pegasus mare with a rainbow mane.
Shadic watched Rainbow Dash, "Have we met before?"
Rainbow Dash looked at Shadic, "Y'know…now that you mention it…you do seem familiar."
"Wait a second…you're that pegasus that ran from me!" He yelled.
Rainbow Dash started thinking, "Wait…oh my gosh that was you!?" She started laughing.
Twilight looked at Shadic, "Uh…"
"Long story. She was in possession of a chaos emerald much like this one, and when I tried to talk to her, she ran!" He gave Twilight the emerald she gasped by what she felt coming from it.
"The sheer energy from this is…magnificent! Please allow me to study it!" She begged Shadic.
"I mean sure…also," he looked at Rainbow Dash, "give me the emerald you have."
She shook her head, "You want it? You gotta race me for it." She responded with a smirk. "You got some rad speed. I wanna see if you can out fly me. If you win, you get the emerald. Simple as that."
"I know there is no possibility of this happening but, what happens if I lose?" Shadic asked rolling his eyes.
Rainbow Dash smirked and got close before whispering in his ear causing him to blush, gag, and get the look of fear on his face, "What!? Eww no way! I am not doing that!"
The cyan pegasus shrugged, "Then I guess you don't want the emerald."
"Alright, alright fine! I accept your challenge." He said holding out his hand which she gladly shook.
"Great! Meet me in Cloudsdale midday tomorrow!" Rainbow Dash said before flying off.
"Wait, I don't know where that, and she's gone." He said.
"Well don't worry, I can show you the way tomorrow, but you should get some rest." Twilight said walking up behind Shadic and placing a hoof on his shoulder.
"Rest…right…well see you back at your place." He waved goodbye before flying off.
Don't worry Shadic…it's only a race…you're the king of speed…you got this…
