With the power of a chaos emerald now in Shadic's possession, he was able to fly back to Twilight's house in Ponyville faster than he could run.
He landed on the top of her house and sat down looking at the night sky watching the moon raise, "1 down, 6 more to go…and with this first emerald," he pulled out the red chaos emerald and inspected it, "I have a feeling, finding the rest will be easy."
The stars twinkled in the beautiful night sky as Shadic then laid back on the roof and started to fall asleep.
"Come on Shadow, this way!"
"Fine, just don't get in my way."
"Found you Eggman! Hand over the emeralds, or else!"
"Sonic, Shadow! What a lovely surprise! If I would've known both of you were coming, I would've rolled out the red carpet for you."
"Heh, well why don't ya just hand over the emeralds as compensation for that?"
Shadic woke up in the middle of the night due to hearing noises come from around Twilight's house.
"Hm?" He said as he opened one eye and looked around the area, only to find not a single soul in sight.
He tried to fall back to sleep but couldn't as he heard more noises coming around, along with a sweet smell, "What is that?" He asked himself.
He followed the smell until he saw a cupcake sitting in the middle of the main path. Reaching for it, Shadic then stopped, noticing a string attached to it. "Really? This has got to be a prank." He followed the string behind a building and saw a figure in the darkness, "Ok, who are you and why are you trying to disturb my rest?"
There was no answer, only giggling as Shadic was pushed from behind quicker than he could sense.
He quickly curled into a ball and stood back up with the intent to fight, only to find it was Rainbow Dash, "Gotcha! You looked so terrified!" She started laughing.
Shadic dusted himself off and cleared his throat, "Yes well…when I'm in a place very far from home and I only have one of the 7 chaos emeralds, I kinda have to be on my guard at all times."
"Oh really? Where are ya from?" Rainbow Dash asked him sitting down.
Shadic sat down next to her and sighed, "Technically speaking, I'm not from anywhere. See, I'm a fusion between 2 other hedgehogs. Sonic the hedgehog, the fastest thing alive, and Shadow the hedgehog, the ultimate lifeform."
"Whoa, sounds pretty cool." Rainbow Dash commented with a hint of interest in her voice.
"They are…but somehow they fused and I don't think I can de-fuse." He said slightly concerned.
"So, why do you need these emerald thingy or whatevers?" She asked pulling out the emerald she had.
Shadic's eyes went wide, "Well uh…they can probably help me remember what happened to me and can get me home."
Rainbow Dash looked at her deep blue emerald and looked around it, "How do you supposed some weird gems can do that?"
Shadic smirked and pulled out his emerald, "The amount of energy these things have, trust me, your jaw would drop."
Rainbow Dash raised an eyebrow and crossed her arms, "For real? Show me!"
Shadic stood and the red emerald began to glow, "Chaos Control!" He then disappeared causing Rainbow Dash to look around, "What the! Where did he-"
She then felt a tap from behind her and saw Shadic standing there waving, "Surprise! Looking for me?" He laughed a bit seeing her in absolute shock.
"How did you do that? I want to learn! Teach me! Teach me! Teach me!" She begged and demanded Shadic who only shook his head. "Aww, why not?"
"I cant teach you how to use the emerald's power…that's something you have to learn yourself. You have to believe in the emerald's power to use it." Shadic said. "The chaos emeralds have a vast array of abilities it can grant users. You saw me use chaos teleportation. With other emeralds, you could make yourself stronger, faster, stop time even. The possibilities are endless." He told her.
Rainbow Dash was more than amazed, she was mystified. "I want to help you get more! You gotta let me come along with you!"
Shadic crossed his arms, "I dunno…are you really sure you could handle it? It could be dangerous, and you could get hurt." Shadic said sounding concerned. "If there is anything I've learned…if the chaos emeralds are involved with something, danger and destruction soon follows."
"Are you kidding? We have been through lost of dangerous adventures! There is nothing we are afraid of!" Rainbow Dash announced proudly.
Shadic still seemed skeptical, "Like what? Name one super dangerous adventure you had to go on."
The pegasus smirked and pointed in the direction of Canterlot, "We had to face Nightmare Moon, and won."
"Nightmare Moon? Wait…you mean Princess Luna?!" Shadic said sounding surprised.
Rainbow Dash nodded at him, "She was mega evil and it nearly took everything we had just to beat her. Thankfully we did."
"It nearly took everything I had just to even be on par with her. Even then, she was still very difficult to face. 1 emerald alone gave me my super form, but I couldn't beat her." Shadic told her.
"Super form? What's that?" She asked him.
He looked at her and pulled out his chaos emerald again and started to power up, "Haaaaaa!" The ground started to shake and electricity surged and sparked off Shadic's body amazing Rainbow Dash in the process.
When he was done, Shadic had that same golden yellow glow from before with that signature smirk on his face, "This…is Super Shadic!" He said loudly giving a thumbs up. "With one emerald, I can achieve this form though it is a pain to try and maintain, but you get used to it after a while."
Rainbow Dash froze and looked him over for a while. He certainly gave off an intimidating vibe now in this super form. "Do you think I can do that?" She asked him.
"Well since I reestablished my link to the chaos force, I can pull this off with just one emerald. Though with only 1 emerald, this version of my super form is weaker than normal. You on the other hand…would require all 7 emeralds. Anything less, no super form." He told her while seeing her do…something.
Rainbow Dash was tensing herself and it looked painful.
"Uh are you ok? You look like you're in pain." Shadic said still watching her struggle.
"Yeah, I'm trying to use the power from the emerald. Gimme a second!" She responded still struggling with unlocking the energy.
"Uh, that's not how you do it. Here, like this." He took the emerald from her and closed his eyes before charging his super forms power and shooting a large chaos spear into the sky.
"How do you do that? What do you do?" She said watching him fire an energy shot.
"Well I can tell you, there are no mental gymnastics. It's just a feeling. Like, imagine wanting to help someone or wanting to achieve something good and just…do it." Shadic said as he reverted back to his normal form and handed over the emerald to Rainbow Dash.
She took it and tried again, this time without the look of pain and anguish on her face, "Just a feeling…like wanting to help someone…"
Shadic waited but nothing happened, "Well? Did that work?"
Rainbow Dash shook her head, "Nope, sorry. I guess I will get it some other time."
Shadic shrugged and smiled, "Yeah, you will get eventually. Now if you will excuse me, I need to rest for our race." He waved to her and flew back on top of Twilight's house where he started to sleep.
"Take this!"
"Huh? Shadow, it's a trap!"
"I can see that, Sonic!"
"How I've waited so long for this. I can finally rid myself of you once and for all!"
"Shadow we cant break free!"
Shadic woke up quickly and looked around. It was morning but it felt like he had a rough night.
"Hey Shadic!" Came a voice from the bottom of the house.
Shadic looked down to see Pinkie Pie waiting for him along with Twilight and the rest, "Oh hey. What's up?"
"Get down here silly billy. It's almost time for your race." She responded to him.
He looked at the sky and saw the sun was almost directly above them, "Shoot! I almost overslept! Thanks for waking me up Pinkie! I owe you one!" He jumped down and landed perfectly and followed the group to a hot air balloon.
"Alright. Everyone in." Twilight said as they all boarded and began to take off toward Cloudsdale.
Shadic watched the area pass by slowly as he looked at everyone, "So uh…tell me…what's it like in Equestria?"
They each looked at him then each other, "Well its calm and peaceful when it wants to be, otherwise it does get interesting." AppleJack said.
"Alright." Shadic said adjusting his bracelets.
"What are those?" Fluttershy asked shyly.
"Oh these? Just my inhibitor rings." Shadic said looking at her then to his bracelets.
"Inhibitor rings?" Twilight pondered.
"Yep. Ever heard of the saying, When the going gets tough, the tough get going?" Shadic asked her.
She semi nodded and Shadic smiled, "These rings help keep my chaos energy in check. When I take them off, my chaos energy is multiplied. Don't worry, I only take them off in dangerous and emergency situations." He reassured them.
"Oh yeah, about that. What is this chaos energy you keep talking about?" AppleJack asked.
"Well its energy within the chaos emeralds. Energy that can both create or destroy. It can do a lot of things but its mostly used for gaining strength." He said pulling out his red emerald and handing it to her.
She took it and looked at it for a moment before handing it back.
"Hey we are here!" Twilight said as the hot air balloon touched down on the cloud city.
Shadic stepped off the hot air balloon and onto the clouds prompting everyone to freak out at try to stop him only to see that he did fall through the clouds. "What's wrong?" He asked looking at them.
"Huh? But how? Twilight, I though non pegasi couldnt walk on clouds." Rarity asked Twilight who was just as shocked as she was.
"I, I don't understand. Maybe, because since he's not a pony, it doesn't work the same on him." She said watching Shadic bonce off clouds.
"Wheee! Aw man these are so soft! I could just nap on these." He said before landing in front of them. "Well, let's get going." He began walking off in the direction of the chaos emerald he sensed.
Twilight and the rest, now with magic to allow them to walk on the clouds followed him to the Cloudeseum.
Once they entered, there were horns playing fanfare, "Whoa, talk about a grand entrance. I'm diggin the vibes." Shadic said as he watched the girls go into the stands.
He walked to the near center where he saw Rainbow Dash waiting.
Their eyes met and he smirked before standing next to her and seeing some pegasi fly overhead and land across from them. Rainbow Dash saluted and Shadic looked at her before doing the same.
The crowd was going wild as both Shadic and Dash put both of their chaos emeralds on a pedestal then got in position for the race.
"Thank you all for joining us on this great occasion. Today we have the greatest challenge for you to witness. Our fastest flier Rainbow Dash of the Wonder Bolts vs …uh…"
Shadic face palmed in embarrassment before yelling, "Shadic the Hedgehog! The fastest ultimate lifeform alive!"
Some of the stands started laughing and he shook his head, "Just don't think about it too much Shadic…focus on the race."
"Alright! Let's get this show on the road! Are both racers ready?" The announcer asked.
Rainbow Dash extended her wings and flapped them before getting down in a ready position while Shadic sighed and twisted his bracelets prompting his inhibitor rings to disengage and detach.
Everyone watched as Shadic radiated with red energy causing his quills to wave and slightly stand up before rolling into a ball then unroll getting on one knee, "Here we…"
The announcer and Shadic in unison yelled, "Go!"
Both racers were off with Dash taking the lead and Shadic closely flying behind.
They were giving it their all, one overtaking the other only to get overtaken again.
They had to fly through rings around all of Cloudsdale and back to complete the race.
Shadic took the lead first but was slowly getting overtaken by Rainbow Dash who was smirking at him.
The fans watched and yelled in amazement, "Go Rainbow Dash!"
Shadic and Rainbow Dash looked at each other and smirked, "You're pretty fast!"
"Thanks! You're very fast too!"
"Oh please, this is nothing! Wait till you see this!" Rainbow Dash started to push a little harder.
Shadic watched as the air around her started to shift and pull back. He knew what was about to happen.
With a thundering boom, Rainbow Dash was blazing away causing a blast of rainbows to appear behind her.
"A sonic boom…no, a rainbow boom? No I got it, super sonic rainbow." He said before going into his 2nd chaos form glowing more red and breaking the sound barrier himself.
Rainbow Dash looked behind herself and didn't see him, until he just appeared next to her, "Neat trick! You have to show me how to do that!" He said to her.
Rainbow Dash looked at him blushing and shocked. How did he catch up? He didn't cheat.
Shadic looked up ahead and grabbed her arm pulling her out of the way of a cloud that she otherwise would've ran straight into.
Rainbow Dash shook her head and snapped out of it before going back to flying, "Thanks for the save!"
"Anytime! Thanks for giving me the greatest time of my life!" He yelled before zooming off back toward the Cloudeseum with her keeping up.
The race looked close. With both racers pushing their limits Shadic stopped short and rolled into a spindash revving up with as mush chaos energy as he could muster and shot for the finish.
It was a close. No one could tell who the winner was. A photo finish was taken and when it was inspected, it looked like…the winner…was…a draw.
"What!" Both Shadic and Rainbow Dash said. They were shown the image and sure enough, Rainbow Dash stuck her hoof out at the finish line and Shadic ha stuck out his hand when he unrolled out of spindash.
They looked at each other then smiled and started laughing. "That was awesome!" Rainbow Dash said.
Shadic kept laughing and playfully hit her shoulder, "When you did that super sonic rainbow…my god! That was epic!"
Rainbow Dash looked at him and playfully hit him back, "Don't give me all the credit! How about you just randomly appearing next to me even redder than before!"
Shadic smiled and held out his hand, "Even though I didn't win, I would do that all over again just for that rush."
"Same." Rainbow Dash held out her hoof and shook his hand.
Shadic went back to his inhibitor rings and clicked them back on causing his quills to settle back down then grabbed his chaos emerald and Rainbow Dash's. "Dash!"
Rainbow Dash turned around and caught the chaos emerald, "Huh?"
"I didn't win. We had a wager, I win, I get the chaos emerald. Seeing as how I didn't win, the emerald stays yours." Shadic explained.
She tossed it back him and he caught it, "You forget, I'm coming along to help you gather all seven, right? Well you need mine to get seven." Rainbow Dash said to the now shocked Shadic.
Twilight came over, "So, can we see this, chaos energy in full action?"
Shadic nodded and went to the hot air balloon and went with the mane six back to Ponyville.
Back in PonyVille
Shadic and the girls walked to an open field where Twilight had a scroll ready to write.
"Hey Shadic? What did that guy look like before?" Twilight asked.
"What guy?" He then asked.
"The one you were telling me about. In my house?" She clarified.
"Oh, you meant Nazo. Well, he is about the same height as me, a hedgehog like myself, fully red, has a lust for power, and I a total dipshit in my book." Shadic said that last one sarcastically.
Twilight's horn began to glow and in front of Shadic stood what looked to be a spitting image of Nazo.
Shadic pulled out the emeralds and growled seeing Nazo in front of him.
Nazo grinned, "Long time no see Shadic."
Shadic glared at him, "Not long enough in my opinion."
Nazo got in a fighting stance and so did Shadic who sat the emeralds down, "I'm going to enjoy beating you again more than I should."
"Oh I count on it." Nazo responded.
The girls watched as Shadic and Nazo exchanged blows one after the other with Shadic.
Nazo had smirked and manage to grab Shadic's legs and swing him into a nearby tree causing him to struggle to get up.
"Honestly Shadic, you cant beat me in your current form. You should give up." Nazo said shaking his head.
Shadic's fur started glowing and the emeralds started flashing, "You're completely right…which is why I have no choice but to go this route."
Nazo and the girls watched Shadic started glowing as he let out an angering yell causing him to be covered in a bright light and the ground to shake.
"Whoa." Said Twilight as Shadic was now glowing a golden yellow.
"Playtime's over, Nazo. This is the end for you." Shadic said glaring at Nazo.
Nazo laughed as he raced at Shadic who raced at him.
But hedgehogs locked hands to try and overpower the other but to no avail.
Nazo kicked Shadic away and threw waves of energy at him, "Chaos Torrent!"
Shadic skillfully dodged the waves and elbowed Nazo in the gut before twirling and roundhouse kicking him in the side of the face toward the ground.
Nazo bounced back up, "Alright! That's it!" Teleported high in the air with 2 energy balls in hand and mashed them together to create a giant one that was growing in size.
Shadic began to charge his energy with the girls watching in shock and fear.
Nazo threw the giant ball of energy down at Shadic who shot a large beam to stop it from hitting the ground.
"I wont let you win!" Shadic yelled as his inhibitor rings ejected off his bracelets giving a boost in energy and allowing him to push the ball of energy back at Nazo who was still struggling on trying to overpower him.
Before he could react, Nazo was kicked from behind into his and Shadic's attack from behind, "Augh!"
Shadic held Nazo into the ball of energy until he was erased entirely. Before letting the ball of energy get launched into space where he watched it slowly dissipate.
He landed on the ground and reverted to his base form where he collected his inhibitor rings and clicked them back on.
When Shadic looked over, he saw Twilight frantically writing down notes.
The rest of the group started complementing Shadic and asking him questions about what he felt and how did he do all of that.
He nervously explained to them the same thing he told Rainbow Dash last night and they looked at the chaos emeralds which flashed.
"Hm?" Shadic walked over to the emeralds and picked them up and his eyes went wide.
"What's wrong Shadic?" Rarity asked him.
"I don't know how I didn't feel it…but, the emeralds have located another one close by. Its not far…and its coming close." Shadic said looking into Ponyville.
He ran toward the town only to see there was a magic show being set up, "Hm? A magic show? Twilight, are you a part of this?" Shadic said before looking down at Twilight who had finally caught up.
"No, but I do know who is." Twilight said before walking to the stage area, "Trixie! Come on out!"
Shadic followed and tapped Fluttershy in the back, "Ok, so, I'm no good with names. Who is Trixie and how do you guys know her?"
Fluttershy whispered to him, "She is a unicorn who likes to do magic. Her and Twilight had a rivalry that stemmed for a while. But Trixie has changed."
Shadic got up on stage and stepped behind the curtain to see a trailer and knocked on the door, "Hello? Anyone home?"
"I'm not open for fans yet, you will have to wait till after the show." Responded Trixie.
Shadic groaned, "Chaos Control!" He teleported inside where he saw a baby blue unicorn putting on her magician's hat.
"Ah! Who are you?!" Trixie yelled at Shadic and started throwing various items at him
Shadic dodged the items being thrown at him and caught a crystal ball, "You know you can stop throwing things. I'm not going to hurt you. I'm just here for the chaos emerald."
"Chaos emerald? What are you talking about?" Shadic held out one of his and showed her. "Something like this."
Trixie looked at it then lifted off her hat and showed him she was in possession of a chaos emerald. "I found this during one of my tours. I could tell there was something special about it."
"Trust me, it's more than you could ever imagine." Shadic commented, "Each one of these 7 emeralds hold tremendous power. Power that, if used incorrectly, could seriously do some damage."
Trixie hesitated, "I cant just give it up…I need it for my acts. I have been able to do incredible magic like none have ever seen. Please, you must let me keep it." She begged.
Shadic took a second and thought it over, "Trixie…you don't understand...those emeralds can bring danger to you. I have seen it first-hand. You seem like a nice girl and all, so I don't want to see you getting hurt."
Trixie blushed and still held the emerald, "How do I know I can trust you? Give me a reason I should."
Shadic shrugged, "I don't know what to really say. I don't know you and never heard of you until a couple seconds ago so…"
Trixie shook her head, "Sorry, but I cant just hand it over to a stranger."
Shadic started thinking, "Hm…what about a trade?"
Trixie glanced at him, "What do you mean?"
"A trade. I give you something in return for the chaos emerald." Shadic offered her. "And I got something you cant resist."
Twilight watched as Shadic walked out of the trailer over to her, "Well? Did she give it?"
Shadic smirked and showed her a clear gemstone, "I got it."
"I cant believe she just let you have it." AppleJack said.
Shadic blushed, "Well she didn't just give it to me, you see. We more or less traded." He said slightly embarrassed.
"What did you trade her?" Rainbow Dash asked him.
"I would rather not say." He responded, "It was just an offer she couldn't resist."
Obviously making it vague on purpose, Shadic looked at the show stage. "Just know I will be spending the night in her trailer tonight." He said rubbing the back of his head. "Also, I sorta spilled the beans to her that there are more emeralds out there and she wants in."
They all looked at him, "Why would you tell her."
"I tried to reason with her hoping that the potential dangers that come with holding onto the emerald would bring but that only seemed to do the opposite sorta. I tried ok?" He explained before watching the show as it was starting.
Trixie did some pretty cool tricks from making doves fly out of her hat, to appearing and levitating a large house, to then disappearing and reappearing in the crowd.
The audience adored the show and soon it was time for the grand finale. "This is gonna be a real showstopper." Trixie said to the audience.
She pulled out a large chest and lifted off her hat showing the blue chaos emerald.
Shadic looked at his hands and saw he only had 2 on his possession, "How the fu-"
Trixie shouted an incantation before the emerald glowed and pulsated with energy. She then took her magic wand and tapped the box before opening it and sticking her head inside.
The crowd gasped seeing her lip locked with a certain hedgehog before breaking the kiss and shutting the box, "Thank you all so much for coming! Make sure to get tickets for my next show and stop by for a free autograph." She tapped the box again and Shadic appeared next to Twilight with a visible blush and covered his face.
"Please tell me that did not just happen." He said slightly irritated.
"Oh yeah. That just happened, and everyone saw it." Rainbow Dash commented.
