At the west end of Kyoto during the night, two men are fleeing the scene with purgers shooting at them. One man is able to reach the billboard, but the other man is slowing down as he is seriously injured by a gunshot wound. He slowly dies as the gunshot wound gets worse. Several purgers show up to finish him off with a shot through the head. Afterwards, he pours gasoline on his dead body with a pile of wood and catch fire. One man flees safely. It is morning in the same area as one man who was burned after he was killed was disintegrated into ash. Ferrel, Alex, Jack, Pete, Sam and Miss May along with Shoutmon investigate a crime scene with a pile of supplies.

"We might as well take a quick look before we find the others." said Ferrel.

"Sure thing." said Alex.

Jack notices sounds.

"Is there a problem?" asked Alex.

"No." lied Jack. "Just birds."

At the alley, Pete surveys, but not until the man that looks similar to the one who got burned after he dies, takes him hostage. However, he loses consciousness. He is then taken to the inactive billboard where he needed medic. The man regains consciousness and rushes to the burned area where the soldier necklace is present.

"Are you one of them?" asked Ferrel.

"No. I'm not a purger." replied the man.

"Good. Miss May, when we get back to the billboard, tell Captain Ham what happened to the soldier and take him under observation." said Ferrel.

"No sir." said Miss May. "Palmon and Terriermon can interrogate this man."

"We are going to take him under observation or not." said Ferrel.

"You can't do that!" said the man.

"I need someone to report back to you like Captain Ham." said Ferrel.

Ferrel and his men follow the man who is the survivor of the attack. At the camp, Ferrel and his men arrive.

"You are right, they must be the tamers." said the leader of the mask-less purger.

At the hideout, Ferrel and his men discuss the aspects with the survivor. Later at night, the man wakes up and finds the purgers showing up in the middle of the night.

"They found us." said Miss May. "Let's do it."

Miss May summons Palmon while Ferrel summons Renamon to attack a set of purgers. During the day, Ferrel and his men walks through the mansion, the home of the purgers. The entrance is guarded by purgers who are building an immune-to-firearm fortress. Ferrel uses binoculars to check on the activity. Ferrel summons Terriermon and Meicoomon and left the group for a while.

"If you see any activity, let me know." said Ferrel.

Ferrel, Terriermon and Meicoomon use the bushes to look at the activity.

"We can't attack from here." said Meicoomon.

"How long did Meicoomon maintained his Champion form?" asked Terriermon.

"A long time." said Ferrel.

Miss May joins the fun and uses a binocular to check on the man.

"The survivor is captured. And Miss May is taken to the fortress." said Pete.

Pete summons Gatomon and Patamon to help Ferrel.

"Ferrel, Miss May is taken with the survivor." said Gatomon.

Ferrel puts away Terriermon and Meicoomon before going after her.

At the fortress, Miss May and the survivor are being interrogated. Outside the fortress, Ferrel, Pete, Jack, Alex and Sam use binoculars for more activity. Meanwhile, Miss May points the gun at the leader of the mask-less purgers.

"Do it!" cried the leader.

"No… I can't." said Miss May.

Miss May gives her gun to the leader. At the fortress, the man is being interrogated.

"This is Alex, Shoutmon, Pete and Sam. And this is Jack." said Ferrel.

The man is frightened. Outside the fortress, Miss May and the survivor go outside to look at the building. Meanwhile, Ferrel summons Impmon and Meicoomon to look at Alex's drawings.

"What is this?" asked Meicoomon.

"Beats me." replied Impmon.

Inside the shed, Miss May and the leader shows the device that look similar to the billboard.

"I have been carrying this for years… all along and here I am." said the leader.

Meicoomon and Impmon are looking at Ferrel.

"I told Terriermon that we can find Miss May and the survivor." said Impmon.

"Yes." said Meicoomon.

"I'll go after him with Meicoomon and Impmon while you figure out the second device." said Ferrel.

At the starting point, Ferrel, Impmon and Meicoomon finds the billboard gone.

"That's weird." said Meicoomon.

"It's gone!" said Impmon.

"Step aside!" said Alex as uses the grenade to reveal a hole.

Meanwhile, Jack shoots tranquilizers at one purger and frees the survivor. The purgers point the guns at Jack and the survivor.

"You can leave the survivor right there." said the purger.

Meanwhile, Miss May uses the board to check on the device. Jack shows up with the survivor.

"You are going to turn it on in here?" said Jack.

"Yes." said Miss May.

Meanwhile, Ferrel, Alex, Shoutmon and Pete are warned by the fellow survivor. At the trap, where the billboard is on the ground, Miss May and Jack are on the diving board. Ferrel intercepts the purgers by summoning Guilmon and Meicoomon. The purgers flee the scene. Ferrel shows the purger his DigiVice.

"This is not magical power. This is a DigiVice which is a machine." said Ferrel.

The leader turns on the device from the fortress and makes it permanent nighttime. The whole city is going dark without light.

"You call that turning it on?" said Shoutmon.

Shoutmon begins to attack the leader but stopped by Alex.

"Shoutmon, don't!" yelled Alex.

"They are two devices in this one. And both devices must turn on in order for the permanent nighttime to work." said Ferrel.

Alex turns on the other device similar to the one from the fortress, turning on permanent nighttime.

"I'm taking her with me." said the leader.

"No!" cried Ferrel before summoning Terriermon.

Terriermon punches the leader continuously until his nose bleeds.

"I can digivolve if I want to, you know." said Terriermon as he defeats the leader.

The purgers flee the scene and reverts the daytime back to normal. Ferrel and his men say goodbye to the survivor.

"Thanks for everything, friend." said Ferrel.

"No, thank you, Mr. Survivor." said the man.

Ferrel and his men activate the billboard. They leave Kyoto and reports back to Captain Ham.
