The thieves were watching from the shadows "You and the others distract the guards" Scourge looked annoyed at this "Oh, and what is our King going to do in this great plan?" three robot hedgehogs stood behind the hooded figure "I'm going to send in the cavalry". Amy looked into Sonics eyes before taking his arm and they both walked towards the alter, Blaze watched this "I'm not gonna cry, I'm… not…" she immediately burst into tears and Silver hugged her as she tried to stop herself. "I'm okay, I'm fine, I can do this" she said breathing. Silver let go of her and she mischievously smiles "I didn't say stop" she said to him to which he continued. Sonic and Amy reached the top off the alter but Sonic was nervous "Well, we're finally hear" "Together forever".
The thieves made there way to the entrance of the hall and Mephiles shined a beam of light towards the roof where the figure was watching "There in position, be ready" he told to the three robian hedgehogs. "Grounder, your up" Scourge told the green robot who used his drill hand to begin digging into the wall. The shaking could be felt inside which confused everyone including Silver who pulled out his notepad "That's weird, the earth wasn't supposed to move until the honeymoon" Blaze immediately got what he meant by that and elbowed him in the stomach. Before he could respond the wall near the entrance collapsed revealing the thieves who charged into the hall, the crowd began to run in all directions. Fang immediately getting into action led the guards to fight the thieves "Not in this palace!" but before they could attack Neo, Metal and Mecha crashed through the windows and began firing at people with there stun rays. When someone got hit, they were knocked out and the other thieves began to steal their money. Metal took a shot at Sonic and Amy but they both jumped out of the way.
Grounder began smashing the other walls that caused the roof to begin to collapse, Silver seeing this used his powers to hold the roof in place while Shadow, Knuckles, Fang, Blaze began to fight the thieves off while Jet tries to get his extreme gear. Two guards charge at Zazz but the purple zeti breaks and then throws one of the stone pillars at them. Jet is able to get his extreme gear and along with Tails begin chasing Storm and Wave above the hall "You take the swallow, I'll take the albatross. No ones beating me with extreme gear". Omega is trying to shoot down the three robians while Blade the shark is fighting off the guards with her swords as the other thieves steal more valuables. Scourge goes for Fang's family, but Fang then gets in his way, but Scourge is able to take him out with a spin dash. Sonic and Amy rush him, but he is able to get out of their way. Sonic is surprised "Who are these guys?" "I've read about them, they're the 40 thieves" Amy replies. Omega hearing this begins to hover above everyone, still shooting and he begins counting "I count only 39 victims of my wrath, I assume the missing one is there legendary King of Thieves". Sonic then spots the hooded figure in the gift room looking for something "That's 40, Amy can you handle this guy?" "You bet" Sonic goes after the apparent King of Thieves.
The hooded figure was looking through the presents until he found a purple and grey sceptre "Finally" but before he could celebrate he was tripped up by Sonic "Can I see your invitation?" Sonic was a little freaked by the glowing red eyes but he tried to hide it. "Stay out of my way, boy, and I'll let you live" he threw a rock at Sonic which caught him off balance long enough for the figure to throw him to the ground "You're no match for me" "Yeah, we'll see about that your majesty". Amy was able to get a hit on Scourge with her hammer knocking him back "That was for ruining my wedding". Omega was finally able to shoot down the three robians causing them to crash and suffer serious damage "I hate those E-series robots" Metal said to the other two as they were all lying face down on the ground. Tails and Jet were able to knock Storm and Wave off there extreme gear which they actually seemed impressed by when they landed "Hey, green guy, you should join us, we could use that kind of skill" Wave said with Storm adding "Yeah, what do ya say? The boss would probably let you in". Jet was obviously flattered by the compliments, but he wasn't convinced "Unless you have a bigger palace, no thanks" Tails looked at him sternly making Jet add "And of course I wouldn't betray my friends". Some of the thieves began to circle Silver hoping they could bring the roof down but Knuckles and Shadow then appeared "Nobody picks on our brother" Knuckles said before the two of them started shooting beams at the thieves making them retreat.
Scourge wasn't happy "Jules said nothing about fighting a bunch of freaks. Get the others out of here, we'll leave our king to his plan" Mephiles, Blade and Zazz helped the robians on there feet and they began to retreat. Sonic and the King of Thieves were still fighting over the sceptre when suddenly they were surrounded by Sonics friends. Amy gave a glare that would terrify anyone "So you're the reason the wedding got ruined" before she could do anything though "Boss, give me your hand!". Storm and Wave were back on there extreme gear and they flew in, the King of Thieves grabbed Storms hand and the three of them flew out and escaped "I'll see you again, boy!" he said before losing sight of the city. Jet looked angry at this "Are you serious, those two thieves get return controls. Oh, but when I want it for my birthday, it's all, 'oh, it seems pointless Jet'. Well it helped them get there gear back for an escape". Before anyone could tell Jet to get some perspective "Uh, guys, LITTLE HELP!" they heard Silver say, they walked back into the hall and realised he was still holding the roof, but it didn't look like for much longer "Good luck getting the deposit back" Knuckles said. Shadow sighed "Sorry, we're on it" and he and Knuckles flew up and began to fix the roof along with the rest of the building, Silver was finally allowed to let go of the roof and immediately collapsed from exhaustion. King Rose was about to apologise to his daughter about her day being ruined but suddenly realised everyone, but Blaze was gone.
Everyone else went back to the gift room "What were they after?" Amy asked then Sonic showed them all the sceptre "The King was after this; do you know what it is?". Amy examined it for a second "I'm not sure, it's a common gift given by Soleanna to it's allies on weddings" Jet grabbed the sceptre "Yeah, I've seen one of these before, it's an oracle, Infinite used one to help find the cave of wonders. I wonder what the King of thieves wanted to ask it". The sceptre suddenly flew out of Jet's hand and projected a green mobian ant eater in front of them "The King of Thieves wishes to use me to find the ultimate treasure". Shadow and Knuckles appeared "Yeah, the hawks right, it's an oracle" Knuckles said with Shadow adding "Yeah, it can see the future and answer any question you ask". Jet however didn't look happy and stepped forward "Listen, I know you have one question rule, but I didn't mean to ask that. So could you possibly tell me where the treasure is?" "One question, one answer" the Oracle replied. Jet sadly walked back while swearing under his breath.
Amy was excited "Sonic we could learn anything, about our lives, our future" Sonic however had a different idea. "I already know about my future, it's you, but my past, my mum died when I was young and I…. I never even knew my father" he said regrettably. The Oracle spoke "You have many questions about your past, and I cannot answer them all, but a single question can lead you to all the answers, that being the whereabouts of your father". Everyone was surprised by this especially Sonic "My father is… alive?" the oracle then showed an image of a robotized male hedgehog.
Sonic was back in his and Tails old hideout staring into the sky holding his father's dagger, Tails and Omega were waiting on the street in front of the building "I do not understand why you people are disturbed by robotization, it has many benefits". Tails looked at Omega for a second before saying "There's a bit more to it than that". Thankfully, Tails didn't have to get into an argument since Amy then showed up holding the sceptre "Tails, where's Sonic?". Tails pointed up to the old hideout "He's been up there for hours. We're getting worried". Amy went up the stairs remembering the first time Sonic and Tails took her here and met Sonic at the top "Sonic, what's wrong?" Sonic looked conflicted "I've always wanted to know about my father, but now I know that he just left me, I just don't know. I mean, does he even care about me?". Amy took his hands "I may not have met him, but I know him because, I know you".
Amy- You showed me the world
When I was all locked up inside,

(Tails and Omega appear, the latter flies Sonic and Amy outside)

(They all fly through the city)

(They land on a street and Sonic walks off Omega)

(Young Sonic meets a two tailed fox looking for food)

Amy- You've got the chance to learn
(Amy puts her hands on his shoulders)
Sonic- If it means I'd have to go—
(They get back on Omega and they fly to the palace balcony)
Amy- I'll be right here when you return…
Our wedding can wait
Sonic- I love you
Amy- I think it's worth this small delay
Sonic- Maybe you're right
(Tails hands Sonic the sceptre)
Amy- And won't it be great
To have your father see our wedding day?
Sonic- I've waited so long
Amy- It isn't too late
Sonic- To learn the truth
Sonic and Amy- And now at last, we can finally say
(Amy and Sonic both hold the sceptre)
Amy- Your father is really there
Sonic- There's so much that we might share
Amy- And you'll finally learn
Sonic and Amy- (You) (I) don't come out of thin air
(They hold the sceptre up and call the Oracle)
