The oracle shines above the balcony "Have you chosen your question?" Sonic walks forward looking nervous "Where is my Dad?" the Oracle pointed out to the desert "Follow the trails of the forty thieves, your father is trapped within their world". Sonic shocked to hear this "The forty thieves, is he alright? How long has he been their prisoner?" "I am sorry, I can only answer one question" the sceptre returned to Sonics hands. Sonic looked at Amy regretfully "Amy... I need to know what-" Amy smiled at him "Take all the time you need" Sonic smiled back and hugged her "I'll be back for our wedding, I promise".
Sonic was flying through the desert on Omega with Tails and Jet right behind them "Hey, could someone tell me why we're not bringing one of the genies?" Jet asked. "The thieves wanted the sceptre, and we could barley push them back last time. If we're leaving, Knuckles, Shadow and the others need to keep the city safe if they return" Sonic answered. They eventually spot the thieves who have stopped at a river with a mountain on the other side "Ha, we've got them now" Tails however didn't look to enthusiastic about this "Uh, Sonic, there's forty of them there and only four of us" "I know, barley a challenge" Omega added. Before they could do anything they heard the King of Thieves yell "Open Sesame!" suddenly the mountainside glowed and created an opening before shooting a beam through the water splitting it and creating a trail right to the entrance of the hideout which the thieves then headed towards. "Let's move!" Sonic yelled as the four of them headed straight for the entrance as it began to close just making it.
They landed inside and Tails began to marvel at the treasures within "Wow, this place gives the cave of wonders a run for it's money" Jet however was for once not keen on treasure "Can you focus? Let's get what we came for and go home, in fact I wouldn't mind skipping to the last part". "Alright, let's go, except you Omega" Sonic said which annoyed the robot "Oh, sure, leave the advance robot behind" "It's just right now we need stealth. If we need you, I'll call. I don't want to risk my dad getting caught in a crossfire" Omega could understand that "Very well". The three of them began to explore the hideout and found themselves standing above a meeting "We could have had all the jewels at that wedding, but we had to follow the Kings plan and now we have nothing!" Scourge said to the rest of the thieves. The others looked like this was just another day "This ought to be good" Zazz said to Mephiles "Yes, Scourge being angry, I never would have guessed" he said sarcastically. Storm and Wave were also watching with amusements "Do you think the king will finally throw him out, Wave?" "I hope so, I'm getting tired of this". Scourge began advancing on a roboticized hedgehog "Your time is drawing to a close, Jules" Sonic recognised that name "Jules? Dad". Jules however didn't look worried "If you're thinking of spilling my blood, I'm afraid I don't have anymore" Scourge smiled at this "I'll settle for turning you into scrap metal" Scourge did a spin dash aiming right at Jules but Sonic did one as well and the collision threw them both to the side. Sonic held an angry Scourge to the ground "Run, I've got him!" Jules however just looked confused causing Sonic to turn to him "I'm Sonic, your my dad". Jules gasped at this but Scourge took advantage of the distraction and threw Sonic off him. Sonic dropped the dagger in front of Jules but Scourge then grabbed him "I don't know your dad, kid, but I'll send you to meet your other relatives" he pulled out a knife and was about to kill Sonic but then "Wait!".
He turned and saw Jules holding the dagger "This boy is my son" the other thieves were all surprised by this "I gave this dagger to my wife years ago and I told her to give it to our child, Sonic". "This boy is the son of the boss?" Storm said which shocked Sonic "Wait, you're the King of Thieves?" Jules walked up to his son "Yes, we are blood. I… I never thought I'd see you again" even on a robot's face Sonic could still tell his father looked happy. Scourge however pushed Jules aside "Blood or not he is an intruder, and we have rules about intruders" the other thieves agreed with him "He must die!" Zazz yelled. "Along with them" Metal and Neo suddenly entered holding Jet and Tails, the latter looked at Jules in shock "He's your son" "Yeah and we're his friends maybe cast a vote for mercy" Jet added terrified. Scourge smiles at Jules and said mockingly "Yes, you majesty, showing them mercy would be just like you, soft and weak". The other thieves looked at Jules who stared at his son with a smile "Kill him" Storm and Wave were both surprised to hear this from him but the rest of the thieves cheered as Sonic looked terrified.
Scourge was just about to kill Sonic but then "Or the boy could, oh, nevermind" the rest of the thieves were interested "What? What?" Grounder asked Jules "No, nothing, it was a bad idea" "Lets hear it" Neo, Metal and Mecha said in unison. Scourge was getting annoyed now "For gods sake, what is it!?" Jules looked like he was pondering and put his arms around Wave and Storm "The boy could face the challenge". Wave understood what he was planning but Storm was just excited "YEAH FIGHT!" the others began to cheer along with him. "That's that then, my son will be challenged" Scourge looked amused at this "Then I will be the one to test him". Tails and Jet walked up to Sonic the latter looking relieved "A test, huh? That's not so bad, maybe it will be multiple choice".
All the thieves were now standing around a circle at a cliff above the river with Jules, Sonic and Scourge standing inside. Omega was lying on the ground having been put into standby mode while Tails and Jet were in a cage. "What's going on, dad?" Sonic asked his father with clear anger in his voice but Jules seemed unfazed "Well, the challenge is simple, two men enter the circle, one leaves" Sonic looked over to Scourge who had a murderous glare. Jules handed Sonic the dagger "You're my son, you'll be that man. Knock him dead, kid, seriously. Oh, and also Wave, that swallow over there, asked if you could make it hurt" Jules backed out of the circle and joined the crowd. Mephiles held his hand up and shot out a bright beam indicating the fight has begun. Scourge aimed a spin dash at Sonic which he dodged but Scourge immediately jumped into a homing attack and hit Sonic launching him into the crowd worrying Jules. Storm and Wave helped Sonic up "You're doing great!" Storm yelled at him obliviously before they both threw him back into the circle. Sonic ran at Scourge and used a slide kick to trip him up. Scourge got back on his feet and spin dashed past Sonic and the slashed his arm with a knife causing Sonic to scream in pain his arm now bleeding, Tails and Jet watched, absolutely terrified of what was going to happen to there friend.
Scourge was ready for a final hit but Sonic then pulled out the dagger to stop his knife and in the struggle, they knocked over one of the torches causing part of the circle to catch fire. Jules tried to enter the circle to call off the fight, but Wave stopped him, knowing what would happen if he did. Scourge punched Sonic in the stomach and then picked him up ready to throw him off the cliff "NO!" Jules yelled but the crowd didn't hear him. Scourge threw Sonic over, but Sonic used the dagger on the cliff rock to slow him down and he was able to stand on a small platform of the rock. Scourge seeing this jumped down after him, he advanced on Sonic holding his knife. Sonic seeing that the dagger was still inserted in the rock jumped and grabbed it and used it to swing kick Scourge of the cliff. Sonic tried to save him but it was too late and he heard Scourge scream all the way down into the river. Sonic was sad that he had just killed someone but then a rope was dropped in front of him and he used it to climb back up the cliff looking regretful as he did. He took the dagger and made it to the top where the now 39 thieves were waiting. They glared very angrily "I thought our side won!" Jet yelled. The three of them were then grabbed by the thieves along with the still offline Omega and were carried back to the lair where Jules stood in front of them. "You killed Scourge; the code of the Forty Thieves is very clear on this point. You're in" he smiled at them as the rest of the thieves cheered.
Storm- Congratulations, bub
(Storm shakes a confused Sonics hand)
Wave- You've joined the club
(Wave hugs Sonic before throwing him to Blade)
Blade- And everybody here agrees
(Blade ties a rope around him that carries him to a higher floor)
The Robians- We got the finest blend of nearly honest men,
(They advance on Sonic which causes him to fall back down to the ground floor)

(He lands in the arms of a few of them)

(Sonic gets the rope of him)

(The two hug and throw gold coins on the ground)

(Zazz shows his sharp teeth one of which falls out disgusting Sonic and Tails)

(Jet tries to get his extreme gear but he gets grabbed)

(Wave puts him on a chair)

(Storm hands him his extreme gear)
Jet (Spoken excitedly)- Oh, I love you guys!
(He notices his extreme gear has been upgraded)

(She stands next to Sonic and Tails)

(He stands on their other side, Sonic and Tails both look scared)

Unbeknownst to Sonic or the forty thieves, Scourge still lives. He makes his way to a small beach to escape the water and coughs, knowing that he can't go back to the lair, Scourge makes his way Shamar.
