Best Laid Plans-Ch 2
Meanwhile at the Rossi mansion Hotch looked down at his watch and said, "what's taking Morgan and Garcia so long"?, Reid said, "they've been gone for 85 minutes and 33, 34, 35". JJ kissed her husband on the cheek and said, "we get it Spence", he grinned and said, "maybe the store was crowded or maybe they are stuck in traffic".
Dave said, "or maybe they finally got together and are busy getting busy", Fran walked over to them and said, "now that would be good news, I love my son with all of my heart but he really needs to pull his head out of his butt and tell her how he truly feels about her". Dave said, "I agree Bella, I agree but we know that both your son and kitten are two very stubborn people so it's hard to tell when or even if that will happen".
Emily said, "they have been in love with each other for years and it's soooooo obvious to everybody", JJ said, "everybody but them that is", Emily nodded her head in agreement. Hotch was turning the steaks when his cell started ringing, he pulled it off of his belt and said, "Hotchner", he then heard, "yes I'm looking for an Aaron Hotchner".
Hotch said, "this is he", the voice said, "yes sir, my name is Abigail New and I'm a nurse at Upshire Memorial Hospital", Hotch said, "what can I do for you Abigail"?, she said, "well sir you are the emergency contact for a Derek Morgan and Penelope Garcia, is that correct"?, he said, "I am". Abby said, "well sir they were both brought in a few minutes ago, a car accident".
Hotch said, "are they okay"?, Abby said, "the doctors are working on them both right now but it's looking like they both have head trauma and some broken bones but other than that I'm not sure sir". Hotch said, "we're on the way" as the call ended, he then looked up at the others and said, "that was a nurse Abigail New from Upshire Memorial Hospital, Morgan and Garcia were just brought in a few minutes ago, car accident".
Desi looked at everybody and said, "go, go, we'll stay with the boys", Fran kissed her daughter on the cheek and said, "we'll keep you updated", Sarah and Desi nodded their heads yes in agreement as they watched the rest of their very worried family grab their things and run across the yard and through the gates to jump into their cars.
A few minutes later when they got to the hospital Hotch and Reid ran over to the counter and a nurse looked up and Hotch said, "yes I'm Aaron Hotchner I got a call about two of my agents". The woman said, "yes sir I'm Abigail, I'm the one that called you", Hotch said, "any news on Derek and Penelope"?, Abby said, "the doctors are still in with them but I'll go let them know that you are here", Hotch and Reid nodded their heads and then walked over to join the others.
It was only a matter of a couple of minutes before a man and woman walked over to them and said, "are you all here for Derek Morgan and Penelope Garcia"?, they said, "yes" in unison. One doctor held out her hand and said, "I'm Shannon Sturgell and I'm Ms. Garcias attending and this is Anthony Stweart and he is Mr. Morgans attending".
Fran said, "I'm Fran Morgan Rossi, how are my son and Penelope", Shannon said, "well mam, Penelope is in pretty bad shape, her side of the car was hit and she got most of the impact". Reid said, "meaning what"?, the doctor said, "she has head trauma, a broken right leg and several broken ribs, she is currently in a coma where we are keeping a close eye on the swelling to her brain".
Dave said, "what are her chances"?, Shannon said, "right now it's about 50-50", JJ said, "how bad is the swelling"?, Shannon said, "we are trying to hold off on surgery but if the swelling doesn't start going down soon we will have to go in and try to relieve some of the pressure". Fran said, "and what about my son, how is my son"?, Anthony stepped forward and took a deep breath as he readied to speak.
Well Mrs. Rossi his condition is serious but stable right now", Dave intertwined fingers with his wife as Anthony said, "he too has head trauma, a few cracked ribs and a broken left arm". Reid said, "is he conscious"?, Anthony shook his head and said, "not yet", Fran said, "can we see them"?, Antnony said, "yes, yes of course, please follow us".
The team quickly fell in line behind the doctors and soon they were standing in front of the rooms, Shannon said, "Penelope is in here and Derek is right here so please feel free to stay as long as you want but hopefully soon we'll be able to move Derek into his room". Emily said, "and what about Penelope, when will you be moving her"?, Shannon said, "right now we're going to leave her here just in case we need to get her to surgery fast but if the swelling starts going down soon we'll be able to move her upstairs".
Reid and JJ went into Penelopes room while the others walked into Dereks room, when they got beside her bed JJ said, "ohhhh Garcie", Reid said, "we will find out what happened and the person that did this will pay, I promise you that Garcia, I promise you that". They looked at her and saw that she was hooked up to the ventilator and Reid said, "that's helping her body have time to heal".
JJ said, "how long will she have to stay hooked up to that"?, Reid said, "each case is different but hopefully not long", JJ nodded her head and intertwined fingers with her husband as they looked worriedly at their very injuried and unconscious friend. Meanwhile in Dereks room Fran runs her finger gently across her sons head and said, "it's going to be alright baby, you and Penelope are both going to be okay".
Dave looked up at Hotch and said, "we need to find out what happened", Hotch nodded his head and said, "and we will and they will pay for what they've done to Derek and Penelope". Emily said, "we can't lose them Aaron", he wrapped his arm around her and said, "we won't Em, we won't" as their attention fell once again to the unconscious body in front of them.
