Best Laid Plans-Ch 5
A few hours later the team was still waiting on word of how Penelope was doing but so far nothing and they were starting to get worried, very worried because they were promised that they would be kept updated. Reid said, "I'm going to go check and see if they have any news for us", JJ said, "I'll go with you Spence" and she intertwined fingers with her husband as they walked out into the hall.
Fran gently squeezed her sons hand and said, "baby boy you need to wake up and be alright, do you hear me, I need you to wake up and look at me with those dark loving eyes of yours and tell me that you're alright". Sarah said, "don't worry momma he's going to be alright, he's stubborn and a fighter and he's not going to give up".
Desi said, "yeah this is Derek Michael Morgan that we're talking about", Sarah said, "soon he'll be awake and back to his normal pestering self", Desi laughed and said, "yeah he will". She then put her hand on her brothers and said, "we love you big brother", Sarah said, "we do little brother, we do so hurry back to us, okay"?, Fran sighed and said, "I can't wait for them to find the person that did this to him and Penelope because when they do I want a few minutes alone with them".
Emily smiled and said, "you would be a great profiler Fran", Fran laughed and said, "ohhh no I'm leaving that to you and your team", their attention then turned to the door as JJ and Reid walked back into the room. Emily said, "welllllll"?, JJ said, "her surgery is almost over, the nurse went and checked and said, "she's holding her own right now and that when the doctor is finished she'll be in to talk to us".
Reid looked down at Derek and said, "I never had any brothers and sisters, not by blood, but Derek and Penelope are my brother and sister and when we find who did this they are going to pay". JJ intertwined her fingers with Reids and said, "oh you got that right, they are going to pay either with their lives or for the rest of it".
Emily looked over her shoulder and saw Hotch and Dave walking into the room and said, "any luck"?, Hotch said, "we're looking for the man that did this but so far nothing". Fran said, "any ideas as to why he did this to my son and his baby girl"?, Dave said, "nothing yet Bella, nothing yet but don't worry we will find them".
Fran said, "what kind of sick person would do this too two innocent people like Derek and Penelope"?, Hotch said, "well we know what he looks like and hopefully soon somebody will report to the police that they've seen him". Reid said, "and when they do"?, Dave said, "that's when we pounce hard and fast and catch them" causing everybody to sigh and nod their heads in agreement.
Meanwhile across town Savannah looks at Kevin and says, "any word from Scott"?, Kevin said, "not yet", Savannah said, "we can't fail Kevin, this has to work perfectly and if he's not part of the solution then"?, Kevin said, "he's part of the problem, I know Vannah, I know". Savannah rubbed her growing baby bump and said, "this baby is going to give me what I want, it's going to give me a life with Derek".
Kevin opened his mouth to speak when his cell started ringing, he pulled it out of his pocket and said, "it's Scott" and hit talk and said, "where have you been"?, Scott said, "man the cops are looking for me, I've got to get out of here". Kevin put him on speaker and said, "no Scott, no you can't leave, we still have more for you to do" and Scott said, "listen I don't know why I was stupid enough to help you but it's over and I want my money".
Savannah said, "Scott are you sure that you're out"?, he said, "yes Savannah I'm sure, I can't do this anymore and I want my money", she said, "alright where are you"?, he said, "I'm on Salyer Street in that abandoned house". Kevin opened his mouth to try to convince him but Savannah raised her hand and said, "alright, we'll be there with your money in a few minutes".
Scott smiled and said, "see you soon", after the call ended Kevin said, "you're just going to pay him the money"?, she said, "of course not but he's definitely going to be getting everything that he deserves". She grabbed her purse and smiled and said, "come on lover" and Kevin grinned and nodded his head as he fell in line behind Savannah as they walked out of room.
At the hospital the family looked up as the doctor walked into the room, Reid said, "how is she"?, the doctor smiled and said, "she's stable and hopefully soon we'll be able to see signs of improvement in her, right now she's in recovery but in a few minutes they will be moving her into her room at the end of the hall room 333". The family all sighed and Hotch said, "thank you", she said, "any time" and turned around and walked out of the hall leaving the family alone with Derek.
