Best Laid Plans-Ch 19
Penelope was laying in her bed looking up at the ceiling when she heard a knock at her door, she smiled and said, "come in gumdrop" and JJ grinned and walked into the room carrying 3 year old Henry on her hip. JJ said, "where's Morgan"?, Penelope said, "gone for x-rays, he'll be back soon" and JJ put Henry down on the foot of Penelopes bed.
JJ said, "be easy sweetie, remember auntie Penelope has owwies", the little boy said, "kay momma" as he slowly crawled up the bed toward them and when he got up beside Penelope he wrapped his arms around her and kissed her cheek and said, "lub you". Penelope hugged him and said, "awww I love you to sweetheart and I want to thank you and your momma for coming to check on me today".
As JJ opened her mouth to speak Reid walked into the room carrying a teddy bear and said, "Henry picked it out for you" and Penelope said, "awww thank you boy wonder, it's so cute" as he put it down on the table beside her bed. He said, "where's Morgan" and JJ said, "he's out for x-rays" and Reid said, "how are you feeling today Garcia"?, she said, "still hurting but doing okay, how are you guys doing, any luck on the case"? and both JJ and Reid shook their heads no.
Savannah had been standing across the street from the hospital when Reid, JJ and Henry walked inside, she stood waiting, giving them a few minutes to get deep in conversation before making her way across the street. She walked onto the elevator smiling, she wanted to go pay her baby daddy a visit so she could stir up more problems for the new couple, she wanted to play the she was carrying Dereks baby card again to let Penelope know that she wasn't going anywhere.
She could hear Penelope laughing and talking as she made her way up the hall, she took a deep breath and stepped into the room, the laughter and conversation stopped as they looked at her. Savannah said, "sorry to interrupt but I came to talk to Derek about our baby", Reid said, "well you can see he's not here Savannah so why don't you come back later"?, Savannah said, "why are you so hostel to me, I haven't done anything to you".
Reid said, "I don't like what you are doing to my family", Savannah put her hand on her stomach and said, "your family, what about my family Spencer, I have a right to protect my family too, you don't corner the market on that". JJ said, "Savannah why don't you come back later because right now Derek is gone for x-rays and we're visiting with Penelope right now and would like some privacy".
Savannah said, "oh excuse me for intruding, trust me the last thing I want to do is see the woman that broke up my family, broke up my happiness" and Penelope said, "I didn't do anything to you or your relationship with Derek, you managed to lose him all on your own". Savannah stepped closer and said, "you little bi" and the nurse wheeled Derek into the room and he said, "what are you doing here Savannah"? and JJ said, "she's here to harass Penelope, what else".
Savannah said, "that's not true, I came here to see you so we could discuss OUR child" and Derek said, "why don't we go down to the atrium and talk, I don't want you disturbing Penelope, she needs to rest". Savannah said, "sounds good" and she smiled as she turned around and headed toward the door and the nurse said, "I'll take you down and when you're ready to come back just let me know" and Derek nodded his head yes and said, "thank you".
They got to the door and he turned around and said, "baby girl I'm so sorry that she's bothering you", Penelope said, "it's okay handsome, go, talk to her, maybe you two can get something worked out about your son". Derek said, "I love you" and she weakly smiled and said, "I love you too Derek" and he sighed and allowed his chair to be pushed out of the room.
Reid looked at Penelope and said, "she's a piece of work isn't she"?, JJ said, "and she knows what buttons to push", Penelope said, "let's not talk about her, let's talk about the three of you, so how are you doing"?, Reid said, "we're okay Garcia, right now we are all focused on figuring out who killed Scott and why and when we get that figured out we'll be one step closer to finally ending this nightmare" and she smiled and said, "and the sooner we do that the better everything is going to be".
Meanwhile at the atrium Savannah said, "this place is beautiful isn't it"?, Derek said, "yeah, yeah it's beautiful", he then looked at Savannah and said, "I don't want you to visit anymore Savannah, it's putting to much stress on Penelope". Savannah said, "on her, are you kidding me right now, I'm the woman that is 6 months pregnant with our first child, our son but noooooooo let's not let precious Penelope be in any stressful situations".
Derek said, "I want you to listen to me and listen good Savannah, when this baby is born and the testing is done, if I am this babies father I will be in his life, his life not yours, I'm with the woman I want, I'm with Penelope". Savannah said, "but Derek our son"? and he said, "will still have both of his parents, we just won't be together, if that baby is mine I will love him and be part of his life but I can't and won't be in yours" and he motioned for the nurse and said, "I'm ready to go back to my room".
The nurse walked over and said, "alright then let's get you back to your room" and as Savannah sat there watching she smiled and whispered, "this isn't over Derek, not by a long shot".
