Best Laid Plans-Ch 26
Savannah currently had her cell phone in her hand, her and Kevin were texting back and forth, she couldn't help but grin as she told how she was able to get Derek to stay by her side through everything. Kevin told her that it was obvious that Derek cared about the baby and for her to stick to her guns.
She looked up as her doctor walked into the room, she put her cell down and said, "so what time can I go home today"?, the doctor sat down beside her and said, "Savannah their is something that we need to talk about". Savannah said, "is the baby alright, is something wrong with my baby" as her hands went protectively onto her stomach.
Her doctor took a deep breath and Savannah said, "TONYA,TELL ME WHAT'S WRONG WITH MY BABY"?, the doctor said, "when you fell you put your body and the life of your child at severe risk". Savannah said, "but you said that the baby was alright, that I was alright", the doctor said, "I did but".
Savannah said, "but, but what, what's happening"?, Tonya said, "we have been monitoring the babies heartrate since you were brought in here yesterday and it is falling into a dangerously low rate". Savannah said, "meaning what, are you telling me that I am losing this baby"?, Tonya said, "what I am telling you is that right now you stand a 50-50 chance of losing this baby".
Savannah shook her head and said, "please help my baby, I can't lose this baby, I just can't", Tonya put her hand on her friends hand and said, "we are doing everything possible to make sure that you don't lose this baby but as a doctor you know that their is only so much that we can do".
She nodded her head and said, "so what do you want me to do, I'll do anything to keep this baby safe, anything", Tonya said, "well for starters I am keeping you here indefinitely and you will be on complete bed rest". Savannah nodded her head and said, "I'll do whatever it takes to keep this little miracle safe".
Tonya said, "I'm on my way up to talk to Derek right now", Savannah smiled and said, "make sure to tell him everything Tonya and I mean everything about this baby and what could happen". Tonya nodded her head and said, "don't worry I will", she then stood up and said, "Savannah I need you to stay as calm as possible because the more stress your body is in the more stress that is put on the baby".
Savannah said, "I know, I know and believe me when I say that their is nothing more important to me than this baby", Tonya weakly smiled and turned around and headed out of Savannahs room. Meanwhile in Derek and Peneloes room Derek was still trying to talk Penelope into moving with him so that they could take care of each other when they got out.
Their attention turned to the door when they heard somebody knocking, Derek said, "Tonya, come in, come in", he then looked at Penelope and said, "this is Savannahs doctor". Penelope nodded her head and then watched as Tonya walked up to their bed and blew out a deep breath as she readied to speak./div
Derek said, "is something wrong"?, Tonya said, "Derek their have been a few developments", Derek said, "developments, what developments"?, Tonya sat down beside the bed and started filling Derek and Penelope in on everything that she had just told Savannah moments earlier.
