Best Laid Plans-Ch 34
Savannah sighed as she looked up at the nursing supervisor, she said, "Savannah I know that you had a scare with the baby but everything is fine and we are releasing you today". She said, "but Sandy" and the older woman said, "no buts Savannah, you are in great condition and so is the baby so you will be fine at home".
Sandy looked at her employee and said, "everything is looking good, we just did another ultrasound this morning and it turned out great", Savannah sighed and said, "yeah I know but what if something happens, what if I go home and something happens and I'm all alone"?, Sandy put her hand on Savannahs and said, "honey everything is going to be fine and we have you scheduled for another appointment with your OB next week but if you have any problems, which you won't, then you can come back in".
Savannah seeing that she had lost and was going to get released nodded her head and said, "thanks Sandy", the older woman said, "you are very welcome Savannah, now I'll go up and tell them to get your paperwork started so you can get out of here". Savannah sighed and watched as her friend and supervisor turned around and walked out of the room.
When her door closed she balled her hands into fists and said to herself, "they can't do this to me, how am I going to get Derek to take me home with him if my supervisor is telling everybody that I'm fine". She then threw her covers back and walked over to the closet and grabbed her clothes and headed toward her bathroom to get changed.
By the time she came back to her bed the nurse was walking into the room with her release papers, she smiled and said, "I bet you're glad to finally be going home"?, Savannah said, "oh yeah, definitely" as she signed her paperwork and grabbed her coat as the younger nurse watched Savannah sit down in the wheelchair.
As they walked out into the hall Savannah said, "do you mind taking me to Penelopes room, I want to tell the father of my baby that me and his child are heading home". The nurse said, "sure Savannah" as they bypassed the elevator and continued on the way up to Penelopes room.
When they stopped in the door Penelope looked up and said, "Savannah, is something wrong"?, Derek looked at her and then at Savannah as she said, "wrong, no, i just wanted to let Derek know that me and the baby have been released, so we're heading home. back to my apartment".
Derek said, "I'm glad that everything is okay Savannah", Penelope looked down at her hands as Savannah said, "thanks Derebear, so am I but me and our child are both going to be fine". She the glanced at Penelope and then back at Derek as she said, "maybe you can stop by and check on us"?, Derek said, "yeah, maybe but it won't be until baby girl gets out of the hospital because like I told you before I'm not leaving her".
Savannah nodded her head and said, "stop by whenever sweetheart", Derek said, "Savannah stop" and Savannah said, "sorry, force of habbit Derebear, it won't happen again". She then looked up at the nurse and said, "I'm ready to go", the younger woman smiled and said, "alright, let's get you downstairs to your ride".
Savannah smiled and said, "yes, let's" as the wheelchair was then pulled out into the hall, after Derek was sure that Savannah was gone he intertwined fingers with Penelope and said, "don't". Penelope said, "don't what"?, Derek said, "I can read you like a book sweetness, she isn't going to come between us, you Penelope Grace Garcia are the light of my life and nothing or nobody is going to keep us apart".
Penelope grinned at him and said, "I love you", he leaned in and brushed his lips against hers and said, "and I love you", causing a huge smile to grace Dereks lips as he rested his forehead against hers.
