Best Laid Plans-Ch 36
A few days later Penelope was sitting and playing on her computer when her doctor walked into the room, she looked up as she heard, "alright, who wants to go home"? Derek walked into the room and said, "what did I miss"?, Penelope said, "guess what"?, Derek walked over and sat down beside her and said, "don't keep me waiting sweetness".
She laughed and said, "I guess I'm going home", Derek kissed her lips gently and said, "that's great, I can't wait to get you home and start taking care of you". Penelope looked up at her doctor as she said, "now remember you still need to take it easy, your ribs are healing and so is your leg but you still need to take it easy".
Derek said, "don't worry doc, I'm not going to let her do anything that she shouldn't be doing", Penelope winked at him and said, "why don't you bring the car around and I'll be down in a few minutes", Derek nodded his head and kissed her lips again before looking at the doctor and saying, "thank you so much for everything you did for my baby girl".
The doctor grinned and said, "I'm just glad that things worked out the way they did", Penelope sighed happily as the doctor said, "now I want to see you in my office in 2 weeks". Penelope nodded her head and said, "I'll be here", the doctor said, "I'm sending you home with crutches but please don't overdo, I need you to rest if you want both your ribs and your leg to heal".
Penelope said, "I won't do anything that I'm not suppose to and thank you for everything that you've done to help me", she smiled and said, "here are your release papers and you are very welcome Penelope". A few minutes later Penelope looked up to see a nurse pushing a wheelchair into her room.
She said, "ohhhhh I don't need that", Felicia said, "sorry Penelope but it's hospital policy", Penelope said, "alright, alright" as she let the nurse help her into the wheelchair. As they headed toward the elevator Felicia said, "I bet you're glad to be going home", Penelope said, "ohhhh yeah, I can't wait to get to hotstuffs house, no offense but I hate hospitals".
Felicia laughed and said, "none taken, I don't like them either", it was only a matter of a few minutes before they were walking outside to see the smiling face of Derek standing there beside his truck. He said, "hello beautiful, are you ready to go home"?, she sighed happily and then grinned and said, "ohhhhh I am so ready handsome, so so ready".
Derek helped her into his truck and then looked at Felicia as she handed him an prescription for crutches and something for pain just in case Penelope would need it. He looked down at the prescriptions and then back up to the young nurse and said, "thanks, I'll stop and get these on the way home".
Felicia stood there smiling and waving as she watched Derek and Penelope pull away from the hospital and turn onto the main road and head toward the interstate.
