Best Laid Plans-Ch 37
After stopping to pick up Penelopes crutches and her pain meds they pull into Dereks driveway, he put the truck in park and looked at her and said, "hang on just a second sweetness and I'll help you get inside". He got out and walked around to her side of the truck and when the door opened instead of just seeing Derek she saw Dave standing there.
He smiled and said, "welcome home kitten", she sighed happily and said, "it's good to be here papa bear", he stepped back and watched as she put the crutches under her arms. As she started walking Derek said, "easy baby girl, take it slow and easy", she said, "I will angel fish, I will".
When they finally made it inside and stepped into the living room they were both smiles as they saw their family standing there and before they could say anything they heard, "WELCOME HOME PENELOPE AND DEREK". Jack and Henry ran over and looked up at her and smiled as they ever so gently hugged her hips.
Penelope looked down and said, "it's good to be home guys, thank you, thank you so much", Fran walked over and hugged her and said, "I hope you're hungry because I have some brunch prepared for us". Penelope nodded her head and said, "ohhhh I'm ready for brunch, I'm starving".
For the next half hour or so they spent the time eating, laughing and talking as they enjoyed their family all being together again and the fact that Penelope was healing made their time together even better. When they moved to the living room Reid put a pillow under her leg after she got comfortable.
She grinned and said, "thank you boy wonder", he said, "any time Garcia, any time", the family gathered around her and Henry and Jack sat down beside her gently. Henry looked up at her and said, "awe you gonna be kay now"?, Penelope tapped the end of his nose and said, "yes sweet pea I'm going to be just fine, it's just going to take a little time that's all".
Jack handed her a card and said, "this is from me auntie P", Henry then handed her a card and said, "and dis is fwom me", she read both cards and wiped away the tears and said, "thank you both soooooo much, I love them". The little boys both smiled at her as they leaned in and hugged her and kissed her on the cheek.
It was only a matter of a few minutes before Reid looked at Derek and Penelope and cleared his throat, they looked at him and Derek said, "is something wrong pretty boy"?, Reid looked at the rest of their family and then at the nervous couple. He blew out a deep breath and said, "their are some things that you two need to know".
Penelope looked at Derek and he intertwined their fingers as Reid and the rest of their family then started filing them in on everything concerning Savannah and Kevin.
