Best Laid Plans-Ch 40
After making sure that Savannah was heading to jail where she belonged Derek headed upstairs to check on his baby girl so that he could fill her in on everything that had happened. He opened the door to see her looking down at her hands and he could tell that she was deep in thought.
He walked over and sat down on the side of the bed and said, "penny for your thoughts baby girl", she looked up at him and said, "huh, what"?, he put his finger under her chin and pulled it up and said, "sweetness it's taken care of, she's going to jail where she belongs".
Penelope said, "now we just need to take care of Kevin, right"?, Derek said, "right but you don't" and she said, "you did your part of the plan sugar shack, now it's my turn". Derek said, "so when do you want to do this"?, Penelope sighed and said, "the sooner the better, right"?, Derek leaned in and brushed his lips against hers and said, "I love you baby girl, now and forever you're it for me".
She closed her eyes and said, "I love you more than anything else in this world Derek Michael Morgan, you are the love of my life and nothing or nobody is going to change that". He smiled and said, "is that so"?, she giggled and said, "yes, that's so, that is so so".
Derek laughed and said, "well Ms. Thang, just how are we going to do this"?, she said, "leave it to the all seeing and all knowing oracle, don't you worry I won't have any problem getting Kevin here". Derek watched as she picked her cell up off of the bed beside her and dialed his number.
He sat watching her apprehension as she waited on him to answer, after a few rings she heard, "welllllll, wellllll, if it isn't plum sauce calling me and how are you"?, Penelope said, "I'm doing okay, actually Kevin, thanks for asking", she could just imagine the smirk on his face.
Kevin said, "not that I'm not liking the call but why are you reaching out to me, you made it clear that you didn't want anything to do with me". Penelope said, "I was wrong Kevin", he said, "wrong, how's so"?, Penelope looked up at Derek and mouthed the words, "forgive me", he nodded his head yes and sat listening to her end of the conversation.
Penelope said, "I got to thinking about what you said about Derek belonging with Savannah and the baby and the more I thought about it the more I knew that you were right". Kevin smiled and said, "really"?, Penelope said, "yes really, if Derek is going to have a child, then that child deserves the love of both of his parents".
Kevin said, "that's true", Penelope said, "I got released from the hospital today", Kevin said, "that's great, where are you staying, are you at your apartment"?, she said, "no, I'm at Dereks, I'm not suppose to be up on my feet alot for a while, gotta let my ribs heal ya know, well that and my leg".
Derek sat sadly watching his baby girl work, she reached out and intertwined their fingers and said, "Fran is here taking care of me, Derek he's staying at his moms house, we decided that it was better for us to not be together, we both deserve different lives, I can see that now".
Kevin said, "what do you want me to do Penelope"?, she bit down on her bottom lip and said, "Fran is going to be going to the store to pick up a few things, is their any way that you can come to Dereks, I need to see you Kevin". He thought for a minute and said, "sure, I'll be there as soon as I can plum sauce".
Penelope said, "I'll get Fran to wait till you get here to leave, I don't like being here by myself", Kevin said, "alright, I'll see you soon Penelope", she sighed and said, "yes, see you soon Kevin". After the call ended she looked at Derek and said, "I'm so sorry that you had to hear that angel fi" and before she could finish his lips descended on hers in a passionate kiss.
When they pulled apart he rested his forehead against hers and said, "you have nothing to be sorry about sweetness, this is almost over and when it is, then we can focus on us". She smiled and said, "that we can my love, that we can" as she leaned in and pressed her lips against his again.
