Best Laid Plans-Ch 41
Derek and the rest of the team were hidden out of sight but not before making sure that they had video and audio going on in the living room where Penelope had been moved too. Penelope was currently sittingo n the couch rubbing Clooneys ears and enjoying the peace before Kevin arrives on the scene.
Fran walked into the living room and handed Penelope a glass of lemonade and said, "here you go honey", Penelope took the glass into her hand and said, "thank you Fran" before taking a sip of the delicious nectar and then sighing happily, causing Fran to grin.
They were pulled back to reality when they heard a knock on the door, Fran looked at her and said, "are you ready for this"?, Penelope nodded her head and said, "the sooner we get this over with the better". Fran sighed and nodded her head yes as she grabbed her purse and headed across the room to answer the door.
When she opened the door she said, "may I help you"?, Kevins nasally voice was heard saying, "yes mam I'm Kevin Lynch, I'm here to talk to Penelope". Fran stepped aside and said, "oh yes, she told me that you were coming over for a visit, please come in".
Kevin said, "thank you" as he walked around her, she stepped out onto the porch and said, "I'll be back in a few minutes, just going to run to the market up the street and pick up a few things". Kevin glanced at her and said, "where is Penelope"?, Fran said, "she's in the living room resting on the couch, please go on in".
As she shut the door she whispered, "what a piece of crap" and then smiled as she disappeared out of sight so the plan could continue. When Kevin walked into the living room he said, "hello plum sauce", Clooney started growling and Penelope rubbed between his ears and said, "it's okay buddy this is Kevin and he's just here for a little visit".
Clooney wagged his tail and licked Penelopes arm as he laid his head down on her arm, Kevin then slowly sat down in the chair across from her and smiled. She said, "thank you for coming Kevin", he said, "of course, of course" as he reached out to touch her arm.
He was stopped by another growl from Clooney, Penelope said, "he's just very protective of me", Kevin said, "n n no it's okay plum sauce, he just loves you that's all". Penelope smiled and said,"that's true and I love him just as much", Clooney started wagging his tail as Penelope continued to rub between his ears,
Kevin looked at her and said, "so what did you want to talk to me about"?, Penelope said, "Kevin do you remember the reason I broke up with you"?., Kevin looked down at his hands and nodded his head yes and said, "I do sweetling, I do" causing Penelope to get queasy at the term of endearment coming from her ex lovers lips.
Penelope said, "I know that you care for me and", Kevin stopped her by saying, "I love you Penelope and I'm so glad that you see where you belong now", Penelope said, "where I belong"?, Kevin said, "yes plum sauce, you belong with me, a person that loves you and would never hurt you, not like that he whore Derek Morgan".
She felt her heart racing at the mention of Derek and she said, "I didn't ask you here to discuss Derek what I want to talk about is" and Kevin once again stopped her by saying, "we belong together Penelope, you and I are destined to be together and I would do anything to make sure it happens"
Penelope said, "anything"?, Kevin said, "I never wanted you to get hurt", Penelope looked at him and said, "Kevin what are you talking about"?, Kevin said, "I I I". Penelope said, "I want to move on with my life Kevin, I want to be happy and I think that after everything I've been through that I deserve that don't you"? and Kevin nodded his head and said, "yes, yes I do" as he leaned closer and closer to her.
He looked her in the eyes and said, "I was so devastated when I learned that you were hurt and the fact that you almost died almost made my heart stop". Penelope said, "it did"?, he said, "yes, that was never part of the plan, at least not on my side".
Penelope inwardly smiled knowing that he had messed up again, Kevin then said, "I love you Penelope and I want us to be together forever, please tell me that you want that too". She shook her head said, "right now all I want is for my body to heal, I almost died Kevin and my body is still so weak", he put his hand on hers and said, "I can help you with that Penelope, I will take care of you".
Kevin sighed happily and said, "d d did they ever find out who was driving the other car"?, Penelope said, "not that I know of, we may never know", Kevin looked down at his hands and whispered, "you'll never find out because we took care of him".
Penelope said, "what was that"?, Kevin said, "oh nothing" and Penelope said, "Kevin are you keeping something from me"?, he looked at her and said, "Plum sauce you are the best thing that's ever happened to me but when you broke up with me it did something to me inside and I did things well, I did things that I never knew was possible".
She started rubbing between Clooney's ears again and said, "like what"?, Kevin said, "that's not important" and Penelope said, "if we are even going to try again Kevin their can't be any secrets between us" and Kevin nodded his head and said, "you're right, you're right".
Penelope sat looking at him as he said, "I got involved with another woman and one thing led to another and she's, well she's" and Penelope said, "she's what"?, Kevin looked up at her and said, "she's pregnant, she's pregnant" causing Penelope to say, "w who is she Kevin, who is this woman that is pregnant with your child"?, he said, "her name isn't important".
Penelope said, "that's it, I want you to go, I want you out of here right now", Kevin said, "no, no, please don't push me away, please I'll do anything". Penelope said, "the only way that I'll let you stay is if you tell me the truth, who is this woman that's carrying your child"?, Kevin whispered something that she wasn't able to hear.
She said, "what was that, I couldn't hear you", he blew out a deep breath and said, "SAVANNAH, SAVANNAH HAYES"
